The battery life on this phone is amazing. I've had it for almost 2 years now & it's as amazing as the day I brought it. The only problem I have ever had with it is the back cover does smug a lot. & cleaning it isn't easy because of the tiny grooves. This problem was easily fixed by getting a nice rubber cover for it you can get loads of colours & it keeps it safe if you drop it.
This is an awesome phone I still love it!

Had this phone for 15 months now. One thing potential users or buyers may be interested in is battery life. I am not a particularly heavy user of this phone but I find that battery life is poor. It started out well but as the battery got older, it kept the charge less & less. I tried the usual ideas, switched off wireless search etc, even bought a replacement battery but the same issue recurred. I now have to charge the phone daily. Fortunately I am only on an 18 month contract so can replace the phone soon. I am very glad I didn't go for a longer contract.

I had this phone for two years & I am very happy. I don't know how good it is compared to iPhone as I have not used iPhone but it in my honest opinion it competes with it. But my only complaint is it is recognised by Sky satellite for remote recording of sky programmes. With remote recording with sky you can set to record a programme from anywhere in the world by sending a message by computer or mobile phone. But with E71 we can't get sky TV listing which so handy. But if you know the channel number & programme & time you can still remote record with E71.

I am pleased with the E71, particularly on a 3 tariff of £20 per month. Only problem I encountered was with synchronisation of contracts with Microsoft Outlook 2003, i.e. A number stored as +44(0) etc, is not recognised & the phone cannot automatically the brackets & the leading zero. This is bit annoying hence the low usability rating that I've assigned.

Had my phone for just over 3 months, I text all day long to my friends so having a full QWERTY was a must have & it really makes my life easier. I would recommend this Smartphone to others especially for text, email & love the QWERTY.

Tried so many phones. E71 is best.
There are two problems.
- One problem is 2.5 mm stereo jack instead of 3.5 mm. But this problem is solved by using 3.5 mm connector.
- Second problem is its music player Real Player. Nokia should get rid of this Real Player as soon as possible. It is the worst player. I have installed Smart Movie 4.15, the best video player.
For image viewing, you can use Resco Viewer. You can download this software from the Web.

I have this model for my work phone & loved it so much that I have now got one for personal use replacing my old phone which was a Nokia 6220.
The Nokia E71 is superb, stylish, easy to use & excellent for Internet browsing.
So happy with it & would fully recommend it.

I love this phone, everything about it is just brilliant, since I've had one, 2 of my friends have bought one because they liked mine, would recommend it to anyone, except if you have big fingers I think you may struggle! LOL.
Overall, the features are great, everything works nicely, pretty looking phone too me thinks :D.

This is my first Nokia & the best phone I have ever had. Texting for me, with big fingers is brilliant. (two finger typist) great for emails. Browsing on Internet could be a bit better user friendly. Nokia maps is handy.
My only gripe is the camera. Picture quality is poor especially close ups.
I've had this phone for 2 months now & would recommend it.

This phone has got to be one of the best, if not the best mobile on the market today, believe me I have had & used a lot of mobiles over the last 10 years & this one wins on style & performance & is pure quality (not plastic) the only problem I have is not being able to put the thing down, love the feel & so many apps to explore or download, my next problem is what to upgrade to in the future, well Nokia has again come up with another stunner, the E72.

I absolutely LOVE this phone :).
I hadn't had a Nokia phone for about 8 years but had heard that Nokia users nowadays tend to stay very loyal to the brand. I hoped from that it would mean a reliable, easy to use handset & so far I've not been disappointed.
Admittedly, I use this handset more for personal use than business & for me, it suits my needs perfectly. The battery life is an absolute joy. The first day I had it, I only charged it for about an hour as I was eager to get going with it so decided to forgo a full charge. Such is the addictiveness of the handset, I used it almost non-stop for calls, texts & Internet for most of the day from 8am & I still had just under half of the battery life remaining when I finally switched it off at 11pm. Compared with various handsets (including one gimmicky one which was sent back to Vodafone as I'd only get half a day out of it, from fully charged) it was absolutely perfect.
Internet browsing is very easy & I've found that the handset in general, is very easy to use.
The only slight negative is that the camera is only 3.2 megapixels which is a shame, especially as my previous handset was 5. But my priorities are different now & things like battery life are much more important than a flashy camera. The chrome finish does attract fingerprints but it's nothing that a wipe over with a cloth won't fix. The case included in the pack keeps it very well protected.
Although I've had the phone a few days, it feels like I've only just scratched the surface in finding out the phone's capabilities. Can't wait to keep discovering more!

Wow I have had a lot of phones over the years from all the big hitters this is in a league of it's own, I play music on speaker most of the day & this does it brilliantly, loud clear, phone functions are all spot on feels good in the hand weighty, but not brick like, battery great cancel your open apps when you have finished or you will drain the battery cannot fault this phone & would recommend to anyone 10 out of 10.

I think this is an excellent phone. I read the reviews on this site & was inspired by them to go ahead & buy the Nokia E71 & I have no regrets. I like the set up for receiving & reading emails. The only things I would have liked is a contact picture shown when texts arrive & a lens cover. I was a bit concerned about what the quality of the camera would be but I have been very pleasantly surprised. It has zoom on photo & video. I have taken lots of both & am very pleased with the results. I've always been a fan of Sony Ericsson phones but the E71 has changed me :o).

I've had this incredible gadget for 3 months & every time I am looking at it feels like first day for me magically exciting. WOW it's a computer in a unbelievably slick & thin design mine is white & it's gorgeous which is in white & looks sleek. It is not only a fantastic business phone, this phone also is a perfect entertaining toy. Everybody can enjoy it young or old. Reviews on this site & other places says how great this personal computer is but I am going to add some extras.
I've installed nearly 150 different apps & games & it's still unbelievably quick, you can't imagine how much pressure I put on this little phone & it is still running well. With very heavy use it gives me 10 to 12 hours buttery life (non stopping Web browsing watching TV etc) people who complaining of battery life, can you please name anything else (laptops mobile phone etc) with better battery life? With normal use you can get 2 days (email app ON), light use on 3G three days & on 2G up to five days.
This gadget does everything for me It is my email device, communication tool for chat & contact with friends & family, I have Internet radio on it, I can watch live TV channels I already have 20 free international TV channels include BBC news. I had boring pocket PCs before but with E71 I can use MS Office much easier & better than them with Quick Office app & fantastic keyboard.
YouTube on this device feels same as PC & you don't need YouTube app also you can watch high quality & save YouTube clips with Mobitubia which is impossible on other handsets.
Last time I've been so excited for something was when I had my first computer years ago, I can't imagine life without my computer & now without my small E71 too. Some time a small thing can make big big difference & has big effect on you & your life & this is one of those things. I can't compare this gadget with any other mobile phones or devices because this is truly something else.

I have had this phone for like weeks now & it delivers what I had it expected it to do. My only gripe was how really poor the battery life is considering its capacity as endorsed on the media & how very poor bordering to becoming useless its camera is anyway I still like the phone, though I wouldn't recommend it. I would rather recommend the N79 which costs less.

Great phone, best QWERTY phone I have owned since the Treo 680. I also own a Nokia 5800 but the E71 wins hands down for usability & sheer speed of getting things done. The only downside of the phone is the camera but even then it's a lot better than on similar Smartphone's. The design of the phone is gorgeous, a solid stainless steel back cover & a shiny metal body. The keyboard is very usable. Recommended.

I found this phone so. Easy to use. I traded my Curve 8900 & for this phone also got 80 quid on top & my gosh is this phone so. Good. Maybe you can't watch DivX files but as a phone it is brilliant. I never use to watch films on my 8900 because the screen was too small.
Pros.
- MP3 brilliant output.
- Use as & external 8GB storage.
- Ease of use calls, SMS & MMS.
- Good usage of phonebook (ease of use).
- You can install skyfire.
- 2 easy to use profile switch over.
Cons.
- You have to copy SIM contacts to phone.
- Limited to 8GB only on the micro SD hc.
- Slow speed when copying files to the phone (8GB class6).
- Poor video & camera quality.
Take care hope you find this a bit useful.

My Past two phones have been an LG KS360 & an LG Shine! They really really both let me down & broke. Anyway I wanted a Smartphone I looked at the iPhone & the Samsung F700 however I saw the Nokia E71 & really loved it when I got it the features did not disappoint its great! Battery life is long & good screen is big & clear & the keyboard is the best QWERTY pad I have ever used. I think Blackberry Have now got serious competition if Nokia continue to produce such high quality phones!
Good phone Nokia! Thanks Sam xx.

This phone does the business unfortunately life it's the worst Nokia I've ever had light usage & its dead.
Second is it started to get warm in my pocket on its own & I've had it sent for repair twice, don't get me wrong the design & features are outstanding.
If you have one & experience poor battery life you can get a 3600mah power battery & new back plate & that sorts out the poor battery life out period.

I am so glad I got this phone. I've extended my contract with T Mobile & got Sony Ericsson C905 together with it. NIGHTMARE (although I was more towards Sony than Nokia). Thankfully one of the guys at T Mobile agreed to cancel my upgrade & I was able to choose different phone. Even though it is a business type of phone I can honestly recommend it to anyone, unless you looking for a phone with decent camera, but that's a different story for me as I don't expect any mobile phone to replace my camera.
Overall. EXCELLENT!

I've had this E71 for about 4 weeks & I am really pleased with it. At first I was a bit reluctant to give up my O2 orbit & now I probably won't go back to a phone that needs a stylus.
- the usability is excellent & can be used with one hand.
- the qwerty keypad although small, works well (definitely better than using a stick).
- Call quality excellent.
- I have several pop3 email accounts, all work with no fuss.
- Web Browsing, Quick enough.
- Camera, Good enough (better than what I am used to).
- Syncronisation with PC, much quicker than my Orbit.
- Memory card on the outside which is useful.
I use it mainly for work, so things like the diary, to do, office docs are excellent.
I haven't used the GPS, but then I've got Tom Tom for that. You can download extra software which is great.
Nice design, not too big, not too heavy. Nice one Nokia.

Great phone with lots of features. The camera is a bit poor but useable for the quick snapshots. GPS is great for such a small phone & integrates well with Google maps. QWERTY keyboard is fantastic for texting & emails.
One word of warning is that I am on my third phone with the same fault. Bluetooth headsets disconnect & reconnect randomly after a period of time. Being a business user & driving a lot this is essential to me. After a reboot it will be fine for a few hours but will reoccur & you have to power off & on again to reuse. Useless if you are driving. This appears to be a common fault on the Nokia forums.

I have waited until I had been using the phone for a month before commenting, the wait is over so here goes.
I needed to change my phone & wanted one that I could sort my emails with as well as make phone calls as I would be away from home a lot of the time. My first thoughts were towards Blackberry's but found that it was difficult deciding which one to go for. I had considered the Storm but was dubious about how robust it would actually be.
Through this website I started reading about the E71. What struck me about the Blackberry Nokia debate is that the Blackberry seems to be an email device with phone facility whereas the E71 is a phone with email facility. The E71 does everything I need it to. I have a few email accounts set up on this with no problem whatsoever. The E71 may have a slightly smaller screen than the Bold or Storm but then the E71 gives me everything I need without having the increased size of any of the Blackberry's. The phone itself is very easy to use & work through the different menus. Additionally, there is no requirement to use the Blackberry email server which I believe would be required with a Blackberry although I am open to correction on this.
All in all, a marvellously equipped phone that is still small enough in size to be discreetly slipped into a pocket.

I don't change my phones often, but when I do it has to be right. My last phone lasted 3 years a Nokia E61 with was excellent except for emailing. I had Tom Tom installed & upended using it more than my Tom Tom 720. But the E71 is the best phone I ever used. I use it for everything email, web, music & Tom Tom. The design is awesome. If you are looking for a smart phone you just can't beat the E71. I have had it for 4 weeks now and can not find anything negative to say about it. Here are a few things to think about if you are a light user renewing a contract on 3, and you want this phone. I am on 250 minutes plus 50 texts a month. Cost £15 a month I kept the same minutes and only paid £30 for the phone, saving me £60 pounds over the 18 month contract. If you make Skype calls do not go for internet max you can only get incoming calls on Skype, but you do get chat. Ask for x series silver it costs the same but you can make Skype calls as well as chat, you also get your internet and email.

Hi everyone. Just bought the E71. WOW that's all I can say. The phone is a real pleasure to use, but the things that are important are as follows.
Pros.
- Size. Very hold able, very slim full points here.
- Battery. Again super. Am a light user & it lasted full 6 days! With heavy use full 3 days.
- Surfing. After the Nokia N95 a breeze. Very fast & easy to use.
- Calls. No issues. Super.
- SMS. Though some with big fingers might face a problem I found it easy to use after 4 to 5 days.
- Camera. 3.2MP. Well that's that!
Cons.
- Smudges. Oh my goodness, a little use & the phone looks greasy, smudgy, used & dirty & a finicky user is on the edge (hope the spellings are right).
- Notification light keeps blinking. Even if you turn it off.
- Small buttons (discussed above).
- A 2.5mm jack.
Conclusion, GO AHEAD & BUY THAT PHONE!

Amazing phone. Slim design. Modern, professional look.
Takes a while to assimilate all that it can do (especially when you're a new Nokia user) but it's easy & logical. Menus are straight forward & clear.
Battery life is great. Connection speed is impressive.
May not be the coolest phone with all the touch-screen competitors out there but it smokes the competition on the performance charts & once you customize it to your needs, watch your productivity fly off the handles!
Again, this is not a phone for teenagers who solely use their phone for calling & texting (although the QWERTY pad is amazing). This is a work horse that gets down to business. Minimum frills, maximum power.

I liked reading the review from Peter from UK, I must agree with everything he has said, this is a great Smartphone but it is early days & I haven't been using it for long enough to say it is the very best out there, but to be honest so far so good. I have always used Smartphone's as I am a nonstop business user (sad but true) & Nokia have served me well, keep up the momentum Nokia. Nice phone.

Great phone. Should have a 3.5 mm headphone jack & it would be perfect. Feels so solid & thin, fast typing & amazing features.

I am wondering if anyone else has been left disappointed by the battery performance? One of the reasons I bought the E71 was for its mammoth battery life. As a light user some reviews said I could expect up to a week between charges but I am having to charge daily (I have tried 2 different batteries).

Wow. A truly top draw phone from Nokia (aesthetically speaking) & packed full of features. Familiarised myself with it for a week now after taking out on 3 contract (£25 with unlimited Internet access). This is my first smart phone & am suitably impressed
Smart things about this phone.
- It's an absolutely beautiful phone, well the graphite grey one, not sure about white keyed one (white stiletto for girls & white trousers for boys scenario, are you looking because your impressed or quietly the opposite) looks expensive & feels very well made & solid, not at all flimsy.
- It's incredibly thin for a smart phone.
- You don't look like you're talking into your calculator.
- Reads your texts for you (text to speech).
- Flick between two home screens which can be individually tailored.
- Battery life is excellent (typical Nokia).
- Even has infra-red site).
- Built in speaker is loud.
- Comes with smart leather case.
- Indicators appear on app's still open, & also on a toggle screen (via shortcut key) on main menu (I.e. Good if you forget to switch off blue tooth or have Internet running, or have too many app's running).
Not so smart things.
- QVGA screen should sit next to infra-red in the bin (although on this handset the quality & clarity of picture are excellent, I'm only grumbling because my last phone (Sony Ericsson W910i) had beautiful TFT screen (but not much else).
- Office app's (word, excel & PP) only have limited functions.
- Camera although not poor is very average for 3.2MP (old 2MP W910i produced crisper pictures) but does have zoom & auto focus.
- Cannot charge with USB.
Overall I am impressed with this phone & have returned back to the nurturing arms of Nokia having promiscuously ventured into the arms of Samsung, Motorola & Sony Ericsson in recent years.
I have read a number of reviews & you tube before getting this phone & to be honest there's not a bad review out there but it's still early days as the phone is fairly new.

The best phone, for business & personal use. I got the E71 on 3 upgrade & it is a brilliant phone, one of the best handsets on the 3 range.

It looks so sophisticated, yet very user friendly. Has so many features & details, yet easy to manipulate. This phone's a gem. A true master piece.
The voice activated sat nav is amazing. So accurate from my experience. Web browsing is cool too but it does slow down now & then. However when on Wi-Fi, it works like a dream. Office is a very handy feature to have, spreadsheets especially.
The only drawback is the themes on this mobile. The phone comes with only a few themes, of which I only like 2. Also, a lot of the themes available to download aren't compatible on this phone, so it becomes difficult to personalise the phone.
I examined the iPhone, Blackberry bold & E71. For me this was the winner. Very happy with it. A great buy. Well done Nokia!

In my honest opinion, I can't rate this phone less than 100%. I love everything about the phone. Stylish design, solid sculptured body, GPS, WLAN & other features.
I am one of the first people to purchase this phone & I have no regrets whatsoever. Well done Nokia.
