Having owned a E61 twice & reading some of the negative reviews below, I thought I would add my views, well the phone is branded as a business phone, it does everything that it says, there is a vast amount of software available, the phone can be sped up with software, some of this can be downloaded via the Nokia site, just do a search via Google, a good array of applications, themes & games are available, I have owned phones since 1991, & got to admit this is one of the rest, want a camera on your phone? Get an E61i. Superb.

I've had the E61 for 1 year now on an 18 month contract. Well, this is my second E61 (first was replaced last month because it kept resetting itself & dropping calls). However, my replacement came with a new 24 months warranty & I am due a free upgrade in a couple of months so can't complain!
I am writing this review on the E61 now as the preinstalled browser is on par with Firefox (which is good), the only thing it doesn't process is flash elements, but, this is a phone not a laptop!
All services & functions are excellent but had to install SMS Accelerator to speed up text messaging.
On the whole, this phone is excellent, very happy. The QWERTY keypad is fantastic, even with big clumsy fingers like mine.
mine came with TomTom sat nav which is nigh on perfect, though I find it impossible to update the maps but hey, UK & W Europe Sat Nav for free, cannot complain!
Battery lasts about 1 day with heavy use which is acceptable. Large screen demands power. Very happy with phone & perfect for business use. Not sure to upgrade to in a few months.

First off, the screen is massive, the keyboard is good. Unfortunately, that's it.
Let's start with the OS. It's the most horrifically slow piece of rubbish I have ever had the misfortune of using. You even have to install an application to speed up sending SMS messages, as over time, performance degrades so badly! (Well, you don't HAVE to, but enjoy sending SMS messages when you've sent & received 1000 texts).
The browser is rubbish so I suggest using Opera mini instead.
The phone is pretty rugged. It's taken a lot of abuse & still works fine, can't argue with that I guess!
Randomly can't find my SIM card, so I have to reboot phone, very annoying.
Get inferior signal everywhere I go compared to girlfriend's Sony Ericsson, we are on the same network.
Data cable is awful. Phone randomly loses connection to Nokia PC Suite & this is due to the connector between the phone & cable, you have to push the cable in really hard even though it's clicked in for Nokia PC Suite to redetect the phone!
What else. Oh, the fact the menus are horribly against the user, I spent ages trying to find out how to change the soft keys & the quick launch keys, as I'd rather have a quick launch to send new SMS & opera mini than send new email & the built in browser! I found it in the end, under standby options. WHY put it there?
No camera. Obviously you know this before you buy it, so just beware. I told myself I didn't need one on my phone before I got this, but you really do miss having a camera.
Surfing the web is dreadfully slow, too. This phone is just SLOW. Don't expect to get anything done quickly. When you receive a new message, you have to give it about 3 seconds before you can click 'Show', because the box that says you have a new message flickers, so what I end up doing is pressing the soft key for new SMS, such a pain! & when you actually press the right button, it takes a while to open up. It takes ages to launch Opera Mini. This phone is just utter rubbish, yes it's fairly sturdy (so far), yes it has an OK keyboard, & yes it has a big screen (which is not fully utilised by S60, only video playback will bring a noticeable advantage), that's about it. The default theme is even hideous. It defaults to a really hard to read analogue clock, instead of a digital one! This phone is hands down the worst device I've ever owned. It's like Windows ME on your phone, instead more annoying, because you can take it with you & it can bug you wherever you go.

The Phone is fine but the manual shipped with the phone states it is compatible with Nokia 616 Car Kit. It isn't & now they realise it isn't, Nokia in their infinite wisdom have re written history saying it never was compatible. Will they rectify my problem, no way.
Having bought Nokia's for 15 years for myself & for other employees where I work, I am going to stop completely, going forward.

I think this is the ultimate phone for business people. People that quickly want to send an attachment on the go to a client but wish they had their laptop with them. Since I got this phone, it has given me more confidence. I believe I carry my whole office in my pocket. It has the best Internet browser on any mobile phone. I just hope viruses won't be a problem.

Just imagine if you got yourself a snazzy do everything phone & then realised that you can only automatically receive text messages every half hour, no matter ho snazzy it is, it would be a rubbish phone. Well the E61 is a little like that.
What is the point of having a smart phone that can only?
1. Auto retrieve emails from a maximum of 2 accounts
2. Can only scan for new emails every HALF hour.
I am on t-mobile with unlimited connection to the Internet, my old MDA phone can scan emails every minute (I set it to 3 minutes) so it works almost like a blackberry. If I only need to know of any emails every half an hour, I can go online to do that, do need a smart phone!
Also, NO scroll wheel? Joystick is great but not really a substitute.
Perhaps if Nokia concentrate on the basics, we may see it go somewhere.

Not my type of phone as I would not full appreciate all of the technology that is packed into it but it is great. I think my partner would enjoy this phone & use in correctly. The phone caught my eye & I was shocked when I read about it & all that it can do. I will get my partner to have a look at it tonight. Is it available now or what is the released date? How much money are we talking for it?

Unattractive handset but the technology looks like it will be fabulous.

The Nokia E61 is a great piece of technology & I will be getting it very soon. It comes with Bluetooth, 3G, USB, quad band, WCDMA & WLAN that makes it my perfect phone. The screen looks good & the keyboard looks very easy to operate. I have experience problems with full keyboards in the past because they tend to be too small & fiddly but the E61's keyboard looks ideal. The email service is outstanding & is the phones best feature & the feature that I will use continuously. I will write a full review when I get the E61 as my ratings may change after I have used it for a while.
