Nokia 9300i SmartPhone Review

The Nokia 9300i is an amazing mobile phone which is completely stylish & very small considering it is a mobile office. The 9300i is similar to its predecessor the Nokia 9300 but the 9300i has a few improved features. The 9300i is focused towards the top end business user market & it is truly packed to the brim with all the portable office requirements.

The Nokia 9300i comes in a very sleek & professional silver coloured casing. When the 9300i is closed it looks like any average phone with a clear 65k colour display screen (128 x 128 pixels) & easy to use number keys for making all those important calls. The phone can be open using a side opening mechanism which opens smoothly to display a large 65k active transflective colour screen (640 x 200 pixels) complete with a full keyboard with eight application shortcut keys.

The user has everything they would need to do a days work in their very hand with the Nokia 9300i. It comes complete with email, multimedia message service (MMS), text messaging (SMS), multi slide presentation messaging as an MMS message & it is possible to send & receive fax through the users GSM number.

The EGPRS Multislot class 10, EDGE networks, GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Multislot Class 10 & HSCSD offers the user high speed & high performance data transfer.

The phone includes polyphonic ringtones, alert tones & voice clips or recordings can be used as a ringtone to give the 9300i a personal feel to it. The video player supports RealVideo & MPEG4 which provides the user with a perfect quality clip or recording.

The software applications featured on the Nokia 9300i are what really makes this phone the complete mobile office & they are all so easy to use. The applications include word processor, spreadsheet viewer & editor, presentation viewer & editor which are compatible with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel on a MS Office 97, 2000, XP & 2003 platform.

The 9300i comes complete with music player (MP3, MPEG-4, real audio, MIDI), integrated handsfree speaker, conference call capability for up to six persons, alarm clock, wallpaper with full screen colour image, changeable colour schemes for total personalisation, calculator & digital clock on the external screen.

The Nokia 9300i needs to be seen to be believed & used to be fully appreciated.

I have been a mobile phone adventurer for this past few years. I already used a lot of latest models, high end Nokia, high end Sony Ericsson. But in the long run, I stick with this outstanding phone, Nokia 9300i rocks. I am not after those 5 megapixel camera, superb music player, etc. What makes me content with 9300i, is the design, this one is a classic, head turner. Nowadays, there isn't many of 9300i users, but I am proud to say, I am one of the kind.

By the way, I am enjoying browsing the net using my 9300i.

Since been using this phone I have been spoiled & bought & tried any other phones with a view that I am forced by added features & outside marketing forces I have failed to find any phone to match this phone in usability for business. It has no bells but it provides excellent business phone for someone that wants to use as a tool rather than play games or use it as a toy. I bought & tried anything from E90 its later brother but it was poor. It seemed that Nokia had sacked the team which produced the 9300i software, I wonder why they didn't keep the same team & enhanced the phone with the same ease of use software. As one of the reviewers earlier on mentioned 9300i is for us business guys, can search the entire telephone directory, it is easy to move around, keyboard is easy to use & lists goes on. I took the recommendation of one the reviews with my feeling & as recommended to get 3 9300i & keep them in case it fully becomes unobtainable, so I have bought 3 also.

In 16 years of using a mobile I feel as though we've gone back in time with this antediluvian device. By rights it should have been thrown under the nearest juggernaut months ago. I've had the misfortune of using this phone for almost a year, not my choice I have to say; issued to me by my company & we're in a 2 year contract. I don't normally wish my life away but the next year cannot pass quickly enough. Whoever designed this needs to consider gardening leave. At best it is reasonably functional, at worst it is a liability & worse than useless. If you have ever wondered why we still have red phone boxes in the UK it's for people like me who own one of these phones: I am not joking.

The phone definitely features like FM radio etc are missing. E90 should be the answer. Business features are good on phones.

Fantastic business phone with some minor glitches. Some apps are very slow to load; needs vibrate feature, main keyboard difficult to use in dark & could do with backlighting. Loads of 3rd party apps make it great fun.

Slow to operate the "would be nice" features designed to work on the mobile. Disappointed for not having the voice calling command for complete hands free features.

Had this phone for 3 months & must say I'm pleased. If you can live without a camera (Which honestly you can) you will find this phone agreeable. It's comfortable to hold, not to heavy & superb for texting & watching video clips. The only downside is the applications can take an age to open & when you access the memory card it's even slower. Also one last thing there's no vibrate alert, but overall people will envy your originality for owning this cool device.Cheeeoooo

It is an awesome gadget, which was launched just 4 months back here in India. I like it a lot, as without it life is very dull. It has a Bluetooth mp3 player with blue tooth 2.0 profile. A cool 262 k screen inside & outside & cool games. Nice office apps compatible with ms office 2003. An easy to hold & use mobile phone.

Compared to its big brother 9500 it's a lot lighter & supports both band g wifi features, where as 9500 supports b profile & has a basic 640 x 480 camera.

Apparently this is due to arrive on the street in the early part of this year & by reading all the features it will be coming with a bang. I think Nokia will have another cool high spec phone to add to their already growing collection. The new Nokia 9300i is well connected with WLAN & a variety of email solutions. Looks a winner & a total stunner.

Just in case you have not had the opportunity to look at the benefits of this phone I have written a few of its features below.

1) A high resolution wide, bright screen with outstanding clarity.
2) Native e-mail client with attachment viewers for documents, spreadsheets & presentations.
3) Compatible with several email solutions.
4) Short cut keys to critical applications such as messaging, web, contacts, documents & calendar.
