Phone is good, but expensive & you would get more energy out of rubbing your hands together than the battery. Cuts out whenever you make a call, avoid or upgrade to Sirocco! You get better battery.

I loved the phone when it came but when I bought it the features were far less than the price which these guy are charging for it, any camera less than 1 mega pixel is rubbish. Casing is really solid because I have dropped my set many times but it still works fine.

I've had this 'phone for almost two years now. I was looking at a review for a 'phone my girlfriend wants when I took a look at these reviews to see what others were saying.

The 'phone is probably the best 'phone I have ever had. The battery is fine if you switch off Bluetooth when not in use - that extends the battery life considerably.

Texting is a doddle as is usual with Nokia 'phones.

The camera isn't as good as most others but this is a mobile 'phone not a digital camera.

Works well with the Nokia Connectivity software for backing up or transferring files. I've also used the phone as a modem with my laptop which really got me out of trouble on a couple of occasions.

I don't really use it as a radio or MP3 player much although I have & both of these features work well.

It's a little heavier than most but then I think that it's reassuringly sturdy. My 'phones tend to take a fair amount of abuse & usually end up breaking (usually the screens). This baby looks as good now as it did when I bought it nearly two years ago & I haven't treated it any differently.

I use this in my girlfriend's car with a CK-7W Bluetooth car kit & it works without any problems. I also have the same car kit in my own car but with a modified 3330 cradle & again, it works perfectly but now also charges when on the move!

I've had other 'phones when my contract comes up for renewal but I always end up coming back to the 8800 once the novelty of the new one has worn off, I just prefer it.

This 'phone just oozes style & luxury.

Great look no question there, but as a phone is the worst I have ever owned so it will now go in the bin. Buttons stop working & I would need to own five more batteries to get threw the day, already have four & it doesn't get me very far. I ain't going back to Nokia again, quality is as good as the phone, visual.

I have had the Nokia 8800 for three weeks now, and so far had no problems with it. As soon as it came out I knew I had to have it. I don't recommend this phone for the types that want all oyha facilities like storing allot of music and taking a lot of pictures. If you want that get an ipod and a camera. This phone is for those who want a phone as a phone to speak on and text off. In my Opinion this phone will have no match for a long time to come. I recently bought a Sirocco housing cover for it, and basically turned into the Nokia 8800 Sirocco. Beautifully phone for the classy type. If you like to style and profile get this phone, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Nokia for producing the most stylish and iconic phone of all time.

The phone is an absolute beauty albeit slightly heavy due to the stainless steel. It is a beauty to look at. But not practically functional. The battery life is extremely bad. If you plan on making a call, don't text! The battery dies down VERY fast whilst still showing a fully charged battery on the display. So you have no idea when the phone is going to die on you. In addition, there is no warning that the battery is low, you hear a beep & the phone dies on you. I believe it has a faulty design. I hope the new stylish Nokia N76 will be like this as it says 2hr 45mins of talk time, which is approximately what this model displays in its description as well. What happened to those phones such as the Nokia 6270 that have all the same features but has a talk life of 5 hours? Is it simply because it is more fashionable & sleeker that the consumer has to give up on the talk time?

Looks cool & sleek certainly, & flip protects from accidentally dialing previous dialed nos etc. But it does not have the advertised battery life. I have the same experience as others because the battery when fully charged (overnight) at 7am, will only last until 5pm standby. & this was the same for the battery supplied, & for the replacement battery & handset I tried. Between Bristol & Bath on the train (@15mins) battery goes flat from fully charged according to battery indicator. Seems to be a fault with the design of the indicator, as well as the short battery life probably due to leakage because of badly designed display that lights up regularly for no apparent reason (& the weight of the phone). Also same problems as others reported such as phone just switching off when answering calls. Bad design Nokia not fit for business purpose!

I think that the Nokia 8800 is the best looking phone & is pretty impressive. I think that the people that knock this handset is rather wrong. People who have brought this handset didn't buy it for its gadgets! If you want a good music player buy an IPOD! If you want a good camera buy one! This is a phone & does it purpose well! You moan about the weight but it is made of stainless steel unless you cannot read when you try purchasing this! You complain about the battery life, I mean have you tried running it down (I.e. Draining it)! I've no problems! You buy this phone for its class & status symbol, I mean don't tell me that any of you that had responded to this review, I am sure that someone has an Omega, Tag or Rolex out there. So you're trying to tell me that your expensive watch is better or does more functions than my 100 quid watch! Of course not. It's just a status symbol! Well that goes for this phone as well. ! Well done Nokia & I give FULL marks! Keep up the good work!

It is temperamental as when you slide it up to answer sometimes it cuts off - & its quite heavy. SOoooooooooo I have just bought the Nokia 7373 - yep more girly in pink soooooooooo light & easy to use & very stylish watch this space for how I like it. Your first impression of this phone is 'wow!' & yes, it does have the wow factor. But as soon as you slide it up (after you find out how) things start to go wrong. It has hardly any memory (50MB) so the MP3 player is practically useless. The battery life is a joke & it just shuts itself off even when it has full bars in the indicator. The 0.5 mp camera is o.k. but nothing special. & it is VERY fragile. I slided it open & the mechanism internally broken. I now have the amazing Samsung e900 which does the same things but a lot better.

This is the sleekest, but worst phone I have ever owned. I have had it nearly a year now & thankfully I am now at the end of my contract. I had 6 replacements by June this year & then just found it easier to not really use it much. When I opened it to answer, it turned off. When I was texting, it turned off. The battery life is rubbish too. Nokia have sent me 2 more replacements since September but I have now given in & upgraded as these don't work either. When I decided last year I wanted the 8800 Orange said they didn't stock the 8800 as there was a problem with the software so chose not to have it as one of their Nokia phones so I went with Carphone Warehouse to get the Nokia 8800. This time I have listened to Orange & only gone with the phones they stock.

I have had every Nokia Smartphone the minute they came out, sometimes even leaving contracts to rot because I wanted the newest & most up-to-date handset & then I got bored, because in essence, everything was the same - & everybody got one sooner or later.

The best thing about the 8800 is that you just don't see many about. Even now you have to work hard to find one for free on a 12 month contract, it can be done though.

The fact that it captures the attention of anyone who sees it is great, just watch out for people looking to pocket it! It is also incredibly hard not to pick it up, comment on the weight & keep sliding the screen up - although practically everyone who picks it up will think that the silver panel slides down!

Great design, I now fully recognise that gimmicks are for the bored & the drunk! So a step up in the world with a very stylish handset that cannot be rivaled, my next upgrade will probably be another one!

The functions are fairly basic, but people will undoubtedly not give a toss when they look at it. The first question is always - 'had a pay rise?! '. You don't always have to tell the truth!

What a lovely phone - all steel construction makes it heavy but the feel is so solid it is a positive advantage. For a lot of people like me who started out with Nokia, it is a welcome homecoming with the usual & easy to follow menus. It is true that the batteries do not last long enough, so it is worthwhile picking up a 1000mah replacement - there are plenty about.

The phone oozes quality & refinement - big on style, low on gimmicks. Who needs GPRS, Wi-Fi, MP3 players, huge memory etc? If you need a PDA, buy one. If you need an iPod Nano, buy one. If you need a big megapixel camera, buy one. For making & receiving calls, the Nokia 8800 is in a class of its own.

The 8800 is totally unique in design & the opening system is so sexy. The 8800 is heavy to hold but I like a heavy feeling phone & think the lighter phones feel to plastic & cheap. Screen is great, slide opening is good, very sleek & individual design concept. No faults found & that makes a change for me, keep search for the phones flaws but it genuinely is a good phone.

Expensive phone when you realise what else is available at the same price. You will be paying for the looks & the looks alone. Saying that the features work very well but you can get many more features for your money.

Had the 8800 for about 6 weeks now & it is good. The call reception is very clear & the sound quality from the fm radio & ring tones are idea. I am extremely happy with my buy & the picture quality is great. Battery life is longer than my previous phone. Good buy.
