I've had this mobile now for 8 months & the battery life is really poor. There is no point in even charging the phone as the battery dies out after making one call.

Other features of the phone are good & the phone itself is not bad at all however because of the battery, I would not advise anyone to buy it.

This is a great phone but over the course of 6 months the phone causes a lot of problems e.g. Microphone starts to make a crackling sound, the silver chrome starts peeling off, also the back of the phone starts coming loose.

Overall the phone is only good for a matter of 6 to 8 months after that period the phone has a lot of problems.

Phone looks good but really doesn't have many features. Not that I ever use them anyway!

Had mine for about 9 months & at random intervals the screen just turns completely white & the phone refuses to respond to you. If you are on a call, the call is just dropped & it has become very annoying.

I have bought exclusively Nokia for the past 10 years & never had a problem. Seriously considering another make due to the problems experienced with this handset.

I had this phone supplied to me by Vodafone's awful insurance company to replace my damaged 8800 Sirocco. For years I have had Nokia's flagship metal phone & find the build quality of this a substantial letdown.

There are 3 bright faulty pixels on the display & the camera lens is wonky not lined up in its square recess properly.

It is certainly not up to the 8800 Sirocco standards & NOT a good substitute.

All in all a poorly built substitute for Nokia premium Sirocco. Never worth £400 plus.

Beautiful looking phone. Feels great if you like your phones solid & heavy. Only thing I would say that lets it down is the access to the #, 0 & * keys down the bottom due to the slide being in the way, only slightly though. Almost perfect, but not quite. Buy it.

I have had the phone for just over two months. It has been sent off for repair once & will be going back again. It crackles when trying to make & receive calls. At first, it just crackled for a short time & then was fine. Eventually, it started crackling consistently. They have not repaired it & it is now crackling again (after working for about two days, although I only made short calls during that time). A member of staff at the chain of stores I bought the phone from said Oh! I have that phone, isn't it annoying how it crackles all the time? , even before I mentioned my problem with the phone. My advice, do NOT touch with a barge pole!

Wicked phone, got for £50 on upgrade (12 month). Is very good for the money, I could have had a 6500 classis or n95 8GB for free, but went for this & glad I did. Its solid as a rock, does what you need it to, & oozes quality. Got iphone theme with nice colour icons, & that nice swish noise when you slide it open. A good phone for 50 quid in my book. Buy one!

Awesome phone for doing basic stuff, which is what it was made for! I gave up my N-Series for a nice, good looking weighty fashion phone as I just didn't use all the features enough.

I'd much rather have this phone with an ipod & 7MP camera separate as phones still don't come close to a standalone camera & prob won't for a few years. This phone does all the basic things you need extremely well & looks stunning, perfect!

Not a bad phone. Looks nice. Feels a bit cheap when compared with my old Nokia 8800 & Sirocco. The glass front looks cool but feels like plastic.

Much better than the sirocco in terms of usable buttons & bigger better screen. Some issues with usability with regards the slide mechanism. Going back to the N-Series mobiles from Nokia have shut everything off when you close the slide. This one doesn't making it a bit of a tuff to lock the keypad etc. Also useless ringtones included. Want my old ones from the sirocco or even the 8800. Can't have everything.

I would still recommend this phone to anyone. Less compromised than the old Nokia flagships, but in doing that they've also made it just that little less special.

The Luna is built to a very high standard, they are N-Series Nokias. The Luna is a phone that makes calls & does it very well, it's a nuisance having to open the slider to achieve best coverage, but you can live with that.

I have had all the phones that offer all the features but I adore the Luna & think I will have it for a long time. Oh by the way Sony Ericsson P1i is far better than N95 for build & features.

In brief pictures the keypad cover looks transparent, it isn't its solid stainless steel as is most of the phone. Very happy so far. (Ignore the 100% features & usability review).

Just recently purchased the phone, battery life is disgraceful also putting the phone on & off takes time, other times hardly comes on after a long while. Other that it's a cool phone!

Well I never! I love this phone. I want to have it so bad. But I can't believe it is so expensive. I read that it was just released in Hong Kong on the 12th of July, Which is just about a month ago & it is just so expensive. I would love to have this phone. It's just that I do not think that I will ever be able to afford it. Or make my parents believe that this is my love. Keep it going Nokia! X

Love this phone, only complaint so far is when you take it out of your pocket to answer a call, if the magnetic fastener for the case slides across the case downwards the phone drops the call.

I've been using the Nokia 8600 Luna for a week now. It was a tough decision changing from a Nokia N80 & debating between this phone or the N95. I know most people would think that I am crazy for choosing for 8600 over the N95. But in fact, I am not regretting it at all.

After 1 week use, the design is really elegant & clean maybe not better but definitely stereo Bluetooth headset.

Hey at last it's user friendly too. If people that think this phone is garbage or not worth it, you're simply looking at the wrong market for phones.

Overall I love this phone over my N80.

Someone commented in this thread that the Luna is nearly identical to Nokia's 6233.

Not true.

6233 is a totally different phone that was designed in a Nokia R&D center on a different continent. 8600 Luna was designed out of Nokia San Diego off a completely different platform from 6233. I am a Nokia R&D guy & was involved with the design of Luna.

For me the most important factor on any phone is the battery life more than does it have sat nav? & has it got toothbrush & shaving razor, pen knife attachments etc. I also have the 6230i which I rate high-resolution & the battery life holds out very well approx 8-11 days on average. Also if you get a hold of the phone unlocked you will notice an immediate shut down & start up without all the network software installed & that is a great reason to grab this phone now as I would worry that perhaps when you wait for the likes of Orange to release the phone it will have slightly longer shut down & start up times. I use Orange & this is the first time I have had a software free phone. Love it!

In all essence it's the same phone as the 6233 but with more memory, a fancy shell & a hefty price tag. It's the perfect phone for people who are desperate to impress or pretend to have status & it's cheaper than buying a sports car.

I have had the phone since it came out. It is a really good phone. But the cover keeps getting fingerprints everywhere when you touch it, which really annoys you as you have to keep cleaning it. Otherwise wicked phone! £500! Worth it;)

Hey guys, I don't know much about this phone now, I just wana buy it. Its impressive. Took my heart away at first look, but that's not all I want, I wana know about the battery point of view. How long its battery last? I make calls & receive a lot in a day. Would it stay like the other old Nokia phone or new phones like n95 with such a bad battery life, if yes then I am outa here, cheers guys, let me know.

I got the Nokia 8600 Luna a few days ago from the Carphone Warehouse & it is simple superb, easy to use & looks absolutely brilliant. Everyone who see's it wants to have a closer look, but to be honest a had the same thing happen with my previous phone, the Nokia 8800 Sirocco which again was really excellent.

Well done Nokia, 2 great phones in a row.
