Quite a nice looking phone buy this phone if you want to turn heads & just use it so you can look nice but if you actually want to use it don't buy it because my friend has got one & when I was playing with it, it froze I thought I broke it but she said it always happens! & then the battery died! So I am not going to buy this phone.

Great design & features. But on the second day after I got it, it started freezing after a missed call or a text. & every time this happens I have to take the battery out & that is no easy job either. Battery life is also a bit erratic, it shows half full & phone would switch off at an incoming call. It is so disappointing as I received the phone as a Christmas present after I've had my 6111 for two years. I have sent it for a warranty repair & am back to using the 6111. I do hope they fix the problem as I really love the phone.

Don't buy it, as no matter how eye catching the phone is, if you can't rely on its usability & battery it makes no sense to own it.

Slowly getting used to the phone, but like so many other people I am finding that the battery life awful. It's nowhere near the 300 hours standby time that it promises. I am lucky to get 72 hours standby time. I can't say that I have any problems with freezing. The triangle buttons can sometime be a pain, I find I hit two buttons at once or the wrong button. That seems to be getting easier however the more I use it.

Further to my previous review, I have had to give up on this phone & return it to 02 as I have to charge it up TWICE a day which is ridiculous as I have only used it for one 17 minute call.

Also, I don't like the uncomfortable, squared off top line which makes it difficult to slide into my pocket, having to turn it round & use the rounded off bottom end to get it into my pocket.

This is such a shame but looks aren't everything & this 7900 Prism is not a patch on my excellent 6300 which does everything I ask of it without any trouble at all.

In 11 years, this is the first Nokia with which I have had any trouble at all & have ever returned.

I've had this phone for about 3 days now. I really like it but am a little disappointed that it does not have the Converter function that my 6300 has. I use that function a lot to convert cookery measurements from Imperial to Metric & vice versa. However, I can still use that on my 6300 without the sim card being inserted, but what a faff to have to fiddle with two phones! However, that is my only complaint, so I am quite happy overall with the 7900 Prism.

Great looking phone. People have asked me what it is so that they can get one! One really good point is that via Bluetooth I was able to transfer all my Calendar notes from the 6300 to the 7900 with ease which saved me a lot of time by not having to enter all appointments manually. The natty little protective pouch that comes with it is a good idea.

Recently upgraded from my Nokia N73 to this phone, instantly fell in love with the look/style of the phone & the fact you can change the colour that the keypad displays!

3 weeks later I am on my 2nd version which is about to be sent back & I will be getting something else. This has got to be the worst Nokia I have ever had & here's why.

1 - the phone battery is near impossible to release, there is no grove, button, release. Nothing, I am having to slide a knife under the battery & flick it out everytime I need to get at it.

2 - We all know that any mobile has the tendency to freeze & lock when you have been over using it all day long etc, well this phone just freezes & turns off whenever it feels like it, I wake up most mornings to it having turned itself off which for me absolutely no good when my line of business requires me to be on standby & contactable. When it freezes you can't turn it off & back on, you have to release the battery & put it back on. Wouldn't be as bad if when it freezes you could actually get the battery out!

3 - the charger works on & off, when it decided not to work the charger just makes a high pitched buzzing noise. The charger has also been changed to a USB style insert, wish Nokia would stick to one style of charger!

4 - There are 3 menu options stated in the handbook that are missing. Sleep mode, screensaver & power save. These do not exist! Have emailed Nokia about it who refer me to 02, how refer me to Nokia & so on & so on.

5 - the phone has sharp edges which scratch your cheek/ear when answering a call, not ideal in any sense!

I have never written a phone review, my opinion has always been that as with everything electronical, phones are likely to have odd faults - but this is so ridiculously bad I felt I had to review it.

Good points.

The phone is a lovely design & has a good range of menus & some nice new features/options from Nokia & for a 2 mega pixel the camera is quite good & the flash is handy, but none of these features make up for the utterly awful battery release design (or lack of) & the constant freezing. Nokia clearly spent too much time concentrating on how it looks rather than testing how it functions.

My friend has also upgraded to this phone & like me is on her 2nd handset & is sending it back for something else!

Take this risk if you like but really, it isn't worth it!

This is a really bad phone.

Design 15%. OK, so it looks OK on the Internet, right? But then you get it home & it stabs you when you answer calls due to its sharp edges. The buttons are ridiculously small, elves couldn't use them & quite frankly it's hideous.

Features 50%. Fine, nice, bland, etc. Does nothing out of the ordinary that should make it 250$.

Usability 35%. Well I never! It breaks down ALL the TIME & the battery life is appalling.

Don't BUY THIS rubbish phone! YOU WILL REGRET IT! Seriously.

Nice looking phone & easy to use. Doesn't have any fancy features as such but makes it up on appearance.

However, the battery life is rubbish & I keep getting caught out with it just dying on me even when it shows quite a bit of battery left. I also had a faulty charger which had to be exchanged.

It is not very comfortable on the ears as it has quite sharp edges.

Really like the phone, had it for about 1 week now, shame I am returning it. It freezes in standby mode & won't get out of it. 3 times it's done this now. Plus the battery life is shocking. It'll last about a day & a half, & I don't use it to play games or browse the Internet. Shame because I still think it's so sweet to look at.

You can't really review this phone without buying it, but it does look really good with some good features, given usability 50 because I don't actually have the phone. Although if you really like the look of the phone & its features, but put off by the price (around £250) then you are better off buying the Nokia 7500 prism, which is around £150 with a few less features but I'd rather pay £150 for the 7500 then pay £100 more for the 7900 with a few more features.

I think the phone is great. Since I've had it, I've been getting people grovelling over it. It really is a phone made for a stylish person that appreciates the ergonomics.

The only thing I say is the next model should have radio & the ability to insert a memory card.

Fashion phone it may be but I find the handset very user friendly & sleek. Sadly the camera lacks as I have come from a 3.5 megapixel Sony. My big gripe is (sad I know) that the display 49 promised colours AREN'T! No, not at all! Where is the red or the red or the RED! Did I mention my disappointment about the colours yet?
