Our Nokia 6720 Classic Review

The Nokia 6720 Classic is a stunning looking 3G phone which is a member of the Nokia Classic phone range which includes other handsets such as the Nokia 6700 Classic which is another family member of this popular Nokia range. The 6720 Classic is a luxurious style handset which comes in a bar design casing complete with curved edges & a tactile finish. This 3G mobile phone comes in two colour casings which are iron grey coloured casing & a chestnut brown coloured casing which comes complete with a glossy finish. This casing measures one hundred & ten millimetres tall by forty five millimetres wide by fourteen millimetres deep. It weighs only one hundred & ten grams which gives the casing a solid feel when the user is holding the handset in their hand. The handset comes with a 2.2 Inch size screen which is a QVGA TFT type screen displaying up to 16.7 million colour with a 320 pixel by 240 pixel screen resolution. The Nokia 6720 Classic comes with a fitted battery which provides up to 5 hours of WCDMA talk time or up to 8.5 hours of GSM talk time when the battery is fully charged. The phones comes with forty five megabytes of built in memory & the user can add a compatible MicroSD™ memory card which is up to eight gigabytes in size.

This classic designed handset comes with an integrated audio messaging feature which allows the user to send sound & voice recording to other compatible contacts via a messaging service. It has a built in instant messaging service allowing the user to chat to others via an online instant service which can contain text & symbols. The Nokia 6720 Classic has an email service supporting POP3, IMAP4 & SMTP which supports attachments in popular file formats allowing the user to enjoy using their email service the same they would do on their PC or laptop. A multimedia messaging feature allows the user to create, send, receive & store MMS messages containing text & sound with either a picture or a video recording. A MMS message can be shared between MMS compatible contacts & provides a visual messaging service to be enjoyed by the user. The 6720 Classic also supports a text message service known as SMS messaging which can contain text & the user can enjoy a text to speech message reader on their new phone which will read out the users messages for the user to hear them out loud. A speaker phone call feature allows the user to hear their contact over the handsets loud speakers & the integrated microphone will pick up the users voice which can then be heard by the other contact & this feature will leave the user hands free whilst on a call. The Nokia 6720 Classic has a conference call feature which can support up to six contacts per conference call & this feature is ideal for meeting style calls & conversations between small groups of contacts. The user can access their call log which stores all calls made, received & any missed calls. A built in vibration alert feature can be set to advise the user when a new arrives in by a subtle vibration of the handset.


The 6720 Classic comes with an integrated five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics Tessar™ lens. The user can use the dedicated camera key when taking a shot which allows the user to hold their handset in a digital camera position for ease of use. This built in digital camera comes with an automatic focus feature which allows the user to gain the clearest picture with a well focused outcome. A four times digital zoom allows the user to get up closer to their subject when taking a shot & a dual LED flash feature will brighten up the users pictures. The dual LED flash comes with four flash mode settings which include an automatic setting, on setting, off or a red eye reduction mode. The user can change the capture mode to sequence mode, self timer mode, still mode or video capture mode depending on the user's desired effect. This five megapixel camera supports video recording capabilities & the user can chose a scene setting mode to suit the users desired video finish including an automatic mode, close up, portrait mode, sport & a night mode option. The user can enjoy video playing capabilities in popular formats such as MP4, H263, H264 as well as 3GP video format. The battery can provide up to nine hours of video playing time from a fully charged battery.

The Nokia 6720 Classic handset works over a GSM network covering four GSM network bands including GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 as well as a WCDMA network. The phone supports 3G HSDPA technology which means the user can enjoy video calling on their handset as well as enjoying high speed connectivity. The EDGE technology & GPRS technology allows the user to experience high speed data transfer rates when the user is transferring data between compatible devices. A built in AGPS navigation function supports a Nokia maps application with a compass feature. The AGPS navigation allows the user to get street by street directions to new locations & desired places on the Nokia 6720 Classic. The 6720 Classic supports Bluetooth® wireless technology as well as a micro USB connection point which provides the user with two connectivity options & the user can chose the best option to suit their connection needs. The Bluetooth® wireless technology allows the user to connect to other Bluetooth® compatible devices & experience a wireless connection, therefore enjoying wireless transfers between devices. A built in Web browser means the user can access the Internet to searching for new & informative web sites.

This 3G mobile phone comes with preloaded games which include a Bounce III game & a Brain Genius game. The Nokia 6720 Classic supports N Gage applications & the user can enjoy fast moving games with high quality graphics. An integrated radio supports FM radio tuning & the user can easily tune into their favourite station to hear all the latest news, music & much more. The radio comes with a RDS feature which provides on screen information for the user to read which is relevant to the users chosen radio station. The 6720 Classic comes complete with a built in music player & the handset can support up to twenty seven hours of music playing time from a fully charged battery. The music player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ & WMA music playback format as well as coming with dedicated music volume keys. The user can view album art covers on the screen & search through their stored music files with ease.
