Great phone, but lacks video edition & other add on features, for music & videos, but the 1.3 megapixel camera image is great! Wonderful colours, contracts & brightness. Other than that, it's too basic. Also software takes makes the phone taking long to open up. Sometimes hard to transfer loads of songs. It always says.

The PHONE REMAINS ONE OF the BEST DESIGN NO DOUBT. BUT IT HAS BECOME USELESS FOR ME TO USE AS I CAN NOT UNLOCK the PHONE EVER SINCE I BOUGHT the PHONE FROM UK. Nokia & Vodafone SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO RELEASE ITS CODE.

Excellent phone, the only letdown is the somewhat plastic camera cover. Flash is a little yellowish, but that's OK. Sound quality amazing, great ergonomics & wonderful display. Nice inbuilt camera too.
All in all, an amazing mobile phone.

Rockin. Still d minus fact is that it weighs more than n70 & others. Otherwise, it's stunning.

The Nokia 6680 is an upgrade of the 6630, which was Nokia's first 3G Smartphone. It's a big improvement. Firstly, the physical design of the phone has been improved. It's less distinctive than the 6630, being squarer in shape, but the keypad is easier to use & the whole thing is slightly smaller (albeit a few grams heavier.)
Secondly, the imaging capabilities of the phone have been improved in a big way. The display is the same size as the 6630, but has been up rated to 262k colours. It's the best screen on any Nokia phone to date. The camera is still rated at 1.3 megapixels, but we can hardly complain about that! It's a high quality camera with a massive 6x digital zoom & a handy built in flash. It can't match Sony Ericsson's K750i, but remember that this is a phone first & a multimedia device second. A second inward-facing camera is used for video calling, which was a function missing from the 6630. A slide protects the camera from scratches & dust.
The 6680 has an integrated RealPlayer music & media player. RealPlayer supports a range of formats including MP3 & AAC audio & MPEG4 video. Audio output is in stereo & a pair of Nokia HDS-3 stereo headphones are provided as standard.
The 6680 is a series 60 Smartphone & comes with a selection of Symbian applications. Applications provided on the memory card include Adobe Reader, Kodak Mobile (for printing images taken using the camera), Nokia Wireless Keyboard application, a selection of games & a Photo Editor.
As well as being a Smartphone, the 6680 is 3G compatible, making it an ideal phone for applications requiring high-speed data transfer. As well as the obvious video calling function, the phone is ideal for video downloads, web browsing & email handling. Support is provided for viewing various kinds of document attachments (view jpeg, 3GP, MP3,.ppt,.doc, excel, &.PDF files). The web browser is an advanced XHTML browser that can handle websites with frames, background images, image maps & simple JavaScript.
The internal memory of the device is 10 Mbytes, with the addition of a 64 Mbyte MMC card which can be hot-swapped. Connectivity is via Bluetooth or USB.
The 6680 also seems to have cured most of the reliability problems that dogged the 6630, & we recommend it for anyone looking for a multimedia phone with the advantages of both the Symbian operating system & 3G. Now updated by the Nokia N70.

I really like this model very much & its design is truly better than the N70.

Design:
Balance isn't perfect, position of where the keys are doesn't feel natural when texting.
Features are great, when you install them =p the Nokia - PC software w/ Bluetooth is incredible! You can do anything & install anything (thanks isohunt.com) cough, & with MORANGE & FREE GPRS CONNECTION (my secret) you can have Internet & MSN which seems to work with this real well.
Usability: doing mundane tasks like uninstalling java applications is quite a mission. Just finding the application to do it is hard, the most handy of utilities seem to be hidden, even disconnecting from the web is in 'advanced browsing options' or something. It's not THAT advanced Nokia. Games: yeah they go alright, but because of its symbian OS they lag, much like any game can lag on a general PC, pda or pocket PC.
MORE SIMPLE ACCESORIES!
I think they need to introduce more friendly Internet hardwares for Nokia phones. EG a Bluetooth screen -nothing else- & a Bluetooth keyboard. Perfect for traveling, MSN gprs, or whatever.
But without it it's completely rubbish, throw it in the bin.
Battery is as bad as a toilet. Don't leave Bluetooth / gprs on all day, phone will be dead before the lights are out.
Yeah pretty much

It's OK, but it not the best phone I've had. Its great for personalising ring tones etc (unlike my new E900), the camera's OK & it does the job, but its bulky, 3G is rubbish & calls can cut out/ loose sound & it doesn't automatically lock the keypad like my last Nokia did. The battery lasts about 2-3days which I hear is average, & despite its small memory it stores plenty of pics & texts (100s), but I never bothered to add music as I have a separate MP3 player. The screen size is good 4 pics but I don't like the fact that Nokia's are getting bigger, not smaller. Unlike some reviewers I never had any real probs with software. Sometimes it wld tell me the memory was full & I could only get rid of the msg if I turned it off, but generally it worked fine, nothing broke & I didn't have to replace it. The camera won't take pics if too many applications are open, but that's acceptable. Down point for the sliding camera cover is if you accidentally turn the camera on in your pocket/bag then it disables the key guard for as long as the camera cover is open : ( although its now out of date, the best phone I have ever had is a Nokia 6230 - its the only phone that's done everything I wanted, & with the exception of 1 software glitch, it worked perfectly:)

I have had this phone for about 2 years now I did upgrade to a Treo 650 phone but found that I missed some of the features, so I have gone back to using it again. Not a bad phone its still serving me well.

I've had the Nokia 6680 for about 15 months. While I like a lot of its features, I've also had a lot of problems with it, mainly with the 1.3 mp camera. From the start, the camera has been very unreliable & would take pictures only randomly. A message would appear advising me that the memory was full & that I should close some applications (when I definitely, I got a replacement, but believe it or not, the replacement phone has the same problem. The weight & size of the phone is another problem. While it didn't bother me at first, I now also have a Nokia 6233 & I really notice the difference when I slip it into my pocket. The 6680 is just too heavy & slightly too big & last but not least, I am now experiencing problems with synchronisation. I recently upgraded my Nokia PC Suite & since that time I cannot synch the 6680 anymore. It tells me that it's missing a driver. I've uninstalled & reinstalled using the data from the disc that came with the 6680 & I've separately downloaded the respective driver from the net, all to no avail. I am unable to synch the phone.
All told, I wouldn't recommend the phone. It's still a pretty decent phone but I now prefer others, for instance the Nokia 6233.

Don't buy this phone. It is annoying, fragile, & pretty much like a mini computer that isn't great. It's heavy & the music is alright but still IT IS NOT WORTH the PRICE.

Being able to see the person you're talking with is a cool feature. The phone does have most of what I need & a few of what I want. The quality of the picture is poor & after a few weeks of usage, the camera cover is already loose. If you won't lock the phone, it will constantly take pictures of the inside of your pocket. If you want a phone that you could place inside your pocket, look for another model or brand. I am just waiting for my contract to end & I'll be either selling it or turn it into an expensive paper weight.

I got this as I am involved in the mobile phone industry & I knew nothing of 3G & its services. While 3G coverage is only average in most towns & non existent in most rural areas of this beloved county, I found the phone to be fantastic. I have used the camera feature on this phone a lot. I download games & tones a lot. & I generally found it to be very reliable. I have dropped it many times & it's going strong. In fact I would be sad to part with it & I have it 18mths at least. I am a technophobe at heart, however I am lovin it!

With every phone I've ever had there have always been niggles that you just have to put up with but not with the 6680. I've just been offered a free upgrade after an 18 month contract. I may just get another new 6680.

I have found the Nokia 6680 to be a brilliant phone. I used to have a flip phone so this seemed massive when I first bought it however, I soon got used to the size & found the phone to be excellent. Features wise, it has got everything that I need & the usability is excellent. All features are where I would logically expect them to be. It has got a great colour screen, the sound is brilliant & its been very reliable.
I know the phone isn't everyone's cup of tea but I love it & too be honest, I am not sure what to upgrade to when my contract is finished in March next year.

Big, bulky & not very user friendly. That in a nutshell sums up my big chunky & heavy 6680. The first problem encountered was when no 3g coverage, then all calls were lost. I had to switch off the 3g facility for it to function correctly. As for the features, it tries to be many things built achieve little. Now my memory card is corrupt. I will be changing soon.

This handset was never worth its high price tag. It's heavy, bulky & only consists of moderate features. Then again, it was an entry level handset so I will give it a little credit. But don't go out & buy one tomorrow!

This phone is the most difficult I have had to use from a keypad point of view. It is heavyish & the camera is virtually pointless. It is full of features, but it would nice to be able to disable the 50% of which I never use. I am not particularly impressed with the Nokia suite either. All in all I regret choosing this phone 1 year ago & shall return to LG, with the superior screen resolution & menus.

Although the scores I have rated the 6680 Appear good I ended up having two replacements because of failing signal issues which were phone related & not service provider, until eventually I was given the 6280 for my troubles. Apart from the issues I mentioned earlier it was a very user friendly & practical phone. My only other issues with the phone were its weight & overall size.

I am so pleased I choose the 6680 when choosing my new phone. Okay I wanted something a bit cutting edge with technology but still easy enough for me to use. I am well chuffed with the features on the 6680. Love the speed of 3G, great having MP3 player & the video calling took a bit of time but now I use it more than I expected. I can be a bit technophobic but this phone has changed me. Really not that hard to get my head around.

Too much stuff & none of it any good to be honest. Looks great but that is it, the phone makes calls when it feels like it, it turns itself off when it feels like it & the volume is weak & faint. It is going back tomorrow. Suffered for 3 days, no thanks not for me.

Had the motorola v635 before I got the nokia 6680 & I am more than happy. The nokia 6680 is an outstanding phone with some really strong useful extras on board. Finding the face 2 face video calls great fun now my friends have upgraded their phones too. The phone could do with a FM radio, but not too upset about it. 3G is pretty amassing if you haven't had it before, really makes a big difference to the phone. Not a cheap phone but really good deals on Vodaphone.

Heavy phone but not really surprised with the weight considering all of the built in feature it carries. Saying it is heavy is not necessarily a bad comment at least the phone feels substantial & like a quality piece of equipment in your hand. The phones is packed with features & the video calling can be very useful & gives a better feel to some of my personal calls. Not using the MP3 player, like using the camera & the photos are very good quality for a phone camera, just as good as my families digital camera. All in all a quality mobile phone made by Nokia, but I do feel I want to try another manufacture next time.

I have had the 6680 for 2 weeks now & I am so fed up with this phone, maybe I am just unlucky, but it seems very poor. Using the video is hard in anything other than bright light, what a let down. The phone has also made approx 25 unwanted calls, it is doing my head in, I think I have a duff phone & will be taking it back very soon. May try a Sony they seem to be having positive reviews.
