Great phone does everything you need just a few faults I have noticed with it, had it for a month now or a bit longer. When I take the back off the phone not even the battery just the back, the theme & ringtones reset to default ones.
As I listen to lots of music I have them all sorted into folders however when I go to make a playlist all the songs appear as a list & are called track 01, track 02 etc. They should appear in the folders so you know which songs you would like for your playlist.
A mini problem with this phone that won't bother many people but when your playing the games or taking a picture you can't listen to the music playing : (.
My old phone was a Sony Ericsson W850i great phone only reason I chose the Nokia over it was because this phone looks much smarter & smaller. However I do miss my Sony Ericsson just because of the 3 faults I noticed which affect me.
Anyways they need some faults to upgrade in the next phone I suppose anyways buy one of these! (or the Sony Ericsson:P).

I bought the phone when it first came out, after nearly a year's use I will be glad to see the back of it, WHY, well, it is very sensitive to temperature & taking it out of your bag on a cold day, forget it! , leaving the office to outside, will really make it have a paddy, likewise if you take it in the bathroom if you are running the shower or bath. It cannot handle any change in temperature at all. It should be tested like a computer & not a phone.
I amazed I haven't broken it with frustration perhaps paying £309.00 for it has held me back but many a count to ten moment over all very very disappointed had heard & been warned Nokia were rubbish, now I can join this disappointed club, (wouldn't get one again & would not recommend this phone).

I've had this handset for 5 weeks now & the reception is rubbish. I have contacted 3 on a number of occasions & just today they tell me there is a signal problem with this model of phone, so why did they allow me to order it knowing it had faults? I have noticed it works better if you turn it upside down but it gets tiresome standing on your head while making phone calls.
Other than that I find the phone to be OK'ish.
As for those who say the keys lock & don't work this is probably because if you hold your phone in your left hand your finger rests on the camera key when you open the phone thus disabling the key functions.

This is the worst handset that I have ever owned!
The handset freezes, signal is very poor, microphone has intermittent faults, ring tone goes to factory setting after a day or two, camera is poor, slide broke after two weeks, handset will not charge. He list goes on & on. Sony Ericsson are much better handsets.

First phone delivered last Monday, the hash key didn't work & wouldn't silence the phone, I had to keep going through the main menu. Orange didn't have an answer to the problem so they delivered a second handset Thursday, it still has the same problem & the battery cover doesn't fit correctly. I am having a third phone delivered tomorrow.
A friend has the same phone on 3 & the hash key works fine. Orange still couldn't say what the problem was when I rang them today.
It's a nice phone but this little niggle is annoying.

This is the worst handset I have ever had!
The handset locks, handset microphone broke, rubbish signal, handset would not charge, camera is not that good, slide broke after 2 weeks. The list goes on & on! Take it from me this handset is rubbish.

Though it is said that 6500 slide (Black) has 320 hours standby time, this new handset (15 days old), used only to receive & make at least 2 to 3 calls a day (3 to 4 minutes duration per call) do not hold the battery charge for not more than 48 hours. Any suggestions by anyone. My network is 3.

The only problem I have with this phone is the reception. I am with Orange & it takes ages to recognise it has signal when all other models have full bars. Quite irritating because you have to wait to recognise signal before ringing. This may be a faulty model with my phone I don't know.

My 6500s was fine until I got home last night after taking a few pictures. Got home & it decided t freeze up totally, I mean it still switches on for a few seconds. But then decides its better off dead (must have a lot to hide, eh? I.e. Technical faults).
It's done this before but it always comes back around after a few seconds. Whenever I wanted to add any form of punctuation into my text messages it would freeze. Annoying but I could live with it. But not switching on. That's REALLY annoying!
Other than the freezing it also does not detect my memory card anymore. Why? because the back cover has become slightly bent so it can't push down this tinny little metal thing next to the memory card in order to be able t read my card, not good.
But yeah, I am having the same problem as Niamhm & I really don't know what to do!
I think I'll stick to the more simple models from now on to be honest. Much more reliable! I am not happy.

This is my second 6500 slide the first I sent back because he unlock feature kept freezing & the recption was useless. I took it back to the shop who altered the network setting but this made no difference. I eventually sent it back after they said I may have a faulty handset. But the replacement 'brand new' is just as bad. My old Sony was much better.

A couple of problems I am having with the 6500 slide, Bluetooth gets disconnected by itself often which is very irritating especially in the middle of a conversation. Ringtone resets to default occasionally.
Otherwise I am quite happy with the other functions. Oh by the way, I am not a very heavy user.

No can doubt the phone is great looking. But a lot of you seem to seem to bitch about the same problems.
- the bugs that happen can be fixed by Nokia Software Updates.
- the restoring of default settings is not a bug but a hardware problem often occurring if the back cover is loose & can be solved using a case or making a slight adjustment to the MicroSD card holder.
The camera, MP3 & general usability is great & so is the reception. A good phone to buy but users need to be cautious & handle with care. Cheers.

Touch wood I have had no problems with this phone. I've had it for 3 days now, made various phone calls & loads of texts & the battery still has loads of life left.
I love the design & the weight of it.
I did notice it froze once when I was switching my alarm off, but it was momentary & soon caught up. I've always used Samsungs in the past but I am pleased I switched to Nokia. From what I've read, most of the problems seem to be with Orange, 3 & the Carphone Warehouse. Could this be anything to do with software? I am with O2 & so far no problems. Although it's still early days!

Well I've returned my second Nokia 6500classic to my 3 store the girl in store was very helpful as their customer service is useless she was going to give me another classic which I refused so now I have the slide in black looks very nice I'll do another review when the phone is used a while.

I have the black version which is much better than the original sliver version.
It seems that a couple of people say it is hard to lock. Are you serious? It's easy to lock! The design is fabulous & I love the stainless steel.
Features are great but just need a bit more improvement but just a bit. Otherwise it's great.
My phone works fast & had no problem. Easy to get from one things to another, perfect! One problem which is only little & I don't mind, if you close a big program, it takes a while to get out but that is fine for me. I don't get how people hate this phone, oh well. Everyone has different opinions.

I got this phone a few days ago & I absolutely love it. It is my favourite phone I have ever owned. Previously to this I had the Armani phone which I hated because of the annoying touch screen & I am happy to be back to a good old easy to use Nokia. The phone looks & feels great & it has a very nice metal design. The camera is great & the slide action is very nice. I love everything about this phone except the battery life which is not good. But overall this is a small price to pay for such a cool phone.

I have had this phone for a month now, before had a song Ericsson k500i. I loved that phone & didn't think I would get better.
Although I am loving the Nokia, it's a lot easier to use. One problem even though it's the same size camera as the Sony, the quality doesn't seem so good on the actually phone but it is fine once onto the computer. Not as many options to change the picture settings as on other phones, which is a letdown.
I had huge problems with the song freezing & not sending text messages, I have not had any of these problems with the Nokia.
With other phone brands, you can always tell how old the phone is, however with a Nokia I feel they always stay looking good. The design is not going to go out of fashion.
All in all no problems so far & loving it!

Awesome looking phone I was really impressed at first but then the honeymoon period soon ended & the rose tinted glasses came off. I am on my second model in less than 3 months & this one as gone down the same road as the last the fact that the ringtone kept changing back to that god awful Nokia tune didn't bother me I just thought it was something I had done while messing with but I now know different. My major gripe is the speaker after only a matter of weeks I can hardly hear people, now I know working outdoors in a dusty & dirty environment probably doesn't help but in all 9 years of being with Orange doing roughly the same job not one other of my phones ever did this. Other than this I think the phone is great but it's no use to man or beast when you can't hear jack. Nice try Nokia but after reading all other reviews I think the 6500 slide is destined to be your most un popular phone yet.

Had this phone a couple of months now & generally I am happy with it except for two things. The battery life is not as good as expected & when people sent me long messages I receive the last part first then I receive the first part later sometimes the day after. Could this be a setting problem or maybe it's my network (I am on 3). I used to have a Samsung D500 on Vodafone & that was great.

I've only had my phone on contract with O2 for a month & the screen has failed. I had used the phone at my desk put it back in my pocket & when it rang a short time later the screen was duff.
02 said at first I had dropped it, (I hadn't), then too much pressure by my thumb! Then they said it has a crack in the screen & followed this with a demand for £70 plus to repair.
My response is not printable, but if normal pressure by the finger or thumb can cause the screen to crack the unit is not fit for purpose.

First off all, this phone is great, it can do anything! But there are a few problems I am having with it that I think other people are also having.
Firstly whenever I drop or knock the phone, ( the phone itself remains 100% intact ), but the wallpaper resets & some settings go back to default, I was told it's a fault in design with the memory card holder?
Secondly the vibrate function sometimes does not always go off when I get a call or text, but I have set it to go off no matter what Profile the phone is on, any ideas?
& last of all this phone I legendary tuff but the 4 button chrome ring thingy all the chrome has started to peel off, not that I care but it's just cause I am on a plan where the phone will end up costing me $2450, so I want to make sure that I have not gotten a dud.
This is a great phone from Nokia as they always are, much better than my old Motorola v620, well worth the money.
P.S.I really love the TV out ability, & the 3.2 Carl Zeiss.

I got this phone on contract cheap deal, as far as a phone goes its fine. I was attracted to it because it's also multimedia video & sound player. All these functions work fine, & you also get a cable to connect it to stereo & video inputs on a monitor & TV. The sound on the other hand is the worst I have ever heard. The headphones are tinny, & when connected to HiFi just as bad, like some cheap Alba 4.99 radio, no that's being too kind. Buy a Sony if you want it for sound.

For Paulo Pouzada of Portugal, To go to Silent mode just press & hold the lowest right key (has the hash marking).
My Opinion, after using this phone for the last 3 weeks. No problems yet, touchwood. I have software version 4.84 & I just read that version 6.60 is released. But after reading the disasters some users have faced with this phone I am a little scared to update as my phone is working perfectly all right with the older version. Could some user please tell me if they have updated the software & what were the benefits & advantages?
The battery life is bad, big time. I am using a Sony Ericsson K750i for the last 2 years & even now I get 3 days minimum battery on normal usage. With this phone I have to charge every alternate day & that's with minimal usage (no music, 1 to 2 pictures, no video & 20 minutes max talk time per day).
But nonetheless the phone looks great.

I have had this phone for a month & am very disappointed it with it, the phone always crashes, I.e. The screen freezes & the only way to get it to work again is to take the battery out which gets very frustrating, it also switches itself off several times a day! I spoke to Orange & was told I am running on software V 3.80 which it shouldn't be running on, so I am getting it replaced so am keeping everything crossed that the replacement handset will work! Apart from that nice looking phone & great camera!

I have now had 4 models of this phone since January & have had NOTHING but problems with them since I got them.
The first one turned itself off whenever it felt the need to.
The second would freeze when attempting to access the gallery.
The third people couldn't hear me when I made phone calls & I couldn't hear them when I was called.
The fourth stopped receiving text messages at all.
I thought the phone would be good after reading some of the reviews it had, & decided to take out a new contract & get the phone, unfortunately mistaken.
I wouldn't say don't buy the phone, but be warned there are lots of faults with them, & it seems they are quite common.
Have sent the phone back for the fourth time now & am getting a Samsung G600, here's to hoping I finally have some luck with a phone!

I bought this phone from Carphone Warehouse online in January. To start with the phone design is stylish & easy to navigate. However connecting to the network never happened, I was advised to allow up to 2 days. Well 2 days passed, & still no connection, I phoned O2 & was told to phone someone else, for over an hour I was passed from person to person, & still no one could tell what was wrong. In the end I emailed the company & got a reply, only for them to tell me to return the phone as there was a fault with the handset. Months passed & I never got a replacement handset. Now 2 people I know both have this handset & have no problems with them. Reading some of the reviews on here, people still give bad reviews of the phone, & some mention the phone was from Carphone Warehouse, so I've come to the conclusion that Carphone Warehouse is not the ideal place to get this phone from. If you really want this phone, shop around, & read all reviews, somewhere someone may point out the best place to get this phone from, this will save any trouble in the future!

I felt like a traitor when I agreed to accept this phone as an upgrade I have always had Motorola phones, & gone for clamshell designs, & the smaller the better. My V3i & I were never to be separated! THEN! I met Nokia. I decided to hate it. Especially the way it looked. Much bigger & bulkier than my little hand was used to. But, after only a few days I kind of looked up to my new macho Pal as it easily obeyed my ever wish & command with simple efficiency. The pictures & videos are brilliant. I hardly use my brand new camcorder now, as the quality of the Carl Zeiss lens on this phone is amazing. Despite being very different from my Motorola's, I found this phone very easy to use & get used to. Also, for you girls, this bulkier phone is much easier to locate in your handbag. Being a bit heavier than our more feminine phones, it can always be located waiting at the bottom of your handbag! Much easier to hear, as the ringtones are louder than a lot of phones. All the applications are brilliant whether you are an ordinary housewife like me, or a business man, it for fills all your needs without fuss or complications.
The only sad note I have to add is that I could not transfer all the music & video downloads I had purchased from 'Planet 3', despite remaining with the same network. I understand why, but you would have thought 3 would allow you to re-download for free upon renewing your contract, & upgrading your phone.
Could go on about all the brilliant functions, but suffice it to say I am glad I switched. My new phone & I are now officially engaged! Excellent.

Now on my fourth, had it for less than 2 days & its playing up already. Orange will not offer an alternative phone as they say that a different make of phone might not solve the problem, what. As 2 of the replacement phones came with well out of date software on them I think they know they are sending out faulty phones. All of them have been confirmed faulty by Orange & they want me to have had 5 replacements before considering an alternative, not a chance.

Although the phone is very well presented in every single possible way you can think of I have started to have Memory Card & freezing problems after having the phone for 3 to 4 months. Along with lots of white marks & dust that seems to always appear around the flash & camera.
Although I would recommend this phone for the everyday user, it's not very good on ware & tear. Scratches are all over the phone from just putting the phone onto a table along with the annoying software problems.
In my view the phone is useless for the user who wishes to use the phone for its multimedia facilities.

I had this phone for a month on contract from 3. During that time it had been sent back to the engineers three times! I picked it up again this morning only to get halfway home to find out that the green answer & call button wouldn't work. I wouldn't get another Nokia phone again. I just kept taking it back to the shop to send back, as they said that by law if they haven't managed to fix the fault after 3 times they have to replace it if it's still under warranty. But the phone I collected today was a brand new Nokia that still didn't work correctly! I now have a Sony Ericsson as I threatened to cancel my contract. Nice design but software too complicated I think!

I've only had my phone for a few days so I am still getting used to it. One thing I can't find is where the photos are stored. My handbook says they're in menu & gallery but I can't locate that, so although I've been taking photos I can't look at them. Also, I can't work out how to turn off voicemail. The handbook says it's in Menu, Settings, Call, Call divert but my phone doesn't have the call divert option in that menu. Any help gratefully received!

Spoke to Orange who put me through to Nokia, Nokia reckon it's to do with the software apparently my phone is running on 04.84 software & it should be on 06.60 software, Nokia then blamed Orange for sending out the wrong model, so I am getting a replacement. I think Nokia are talking rubbish, as copying contacts lists is one of the most basic requirements of any handset. Time on texts was an hour behind solved that problem other than that nice looking phone.

I keep hearing people moan about faults with this phone. Yet me & two of my friends have the same phone & not had a single error.
The high pitch tone fault isn't true at all, I have tested this on all 3 phones & there is no fault with it.
Love the design the stainless steel doesn't just look expensive it stops them horrible little marks that seem to pop up on new phones.
The screen is tough & doesn't scratch easy, I have dropped mine about 5 times & it looks brand new still.
I have mine on the 3 Contract for 12 months & got to admit I have never been a Nokia fan but this phone is a real stunner!
The only dislike I have is when you first make & accept a call the stainless steel can be cold against your ear LOL.
Other than that WELL WORTH IT!
Will easy last you 2 to 3 years, Unless your on a contract then you can upgrade sooner he he he.

I have had this phone for over 3 week's now & all I can say is that the reception on the phone is not that good, I always get 2 out of the four bar's coming up most of the time, the button's keep jamming when I try to make a call I have to press the dial pad up to three time's at a go. So I will be sending the phone back to my contact provider & I will be asking for an alternative.

Had this phone for about three weeks & did not have a problem with it yet. It's a decent phone, nicely built, a bit on the heavy side.
It works well & it does what it says on the box. I am with 3 after having been with Vodafone for most of my life & I have to say 3 are much better & more convenient. A close friend works for Nokia & told me that some of the problems people encounter with their Nokia's are mainly related to the software & not so much to the phone (each network has its own software developed for them).
Anyway good overall phone, it would recommend it. I guess there will always be some unlucky ones who will have problems with their mobiles.

I got this phone 5 months ago & last night it suddenly turned off & now it doesn't have the power to start up again. I have lost all my wallpaper as it is now a white screen when it does attempt to start, & yes I have had the same issues with the phone freezing & the buttons sticking.

I love the style of the Nokia slide & everything about the actually phone BUT I am about to pick up my third phone since the end of February due to the same faults each time. The keys freeze. It returns to default frequently it takes 30 seconds for a photo to rotate.
I definitely would not recommend this phone to anyone, I always thought Nokia were up there with the top mobiles but not anymore.

OK, so basically I am a big user of my mobile fan, (average bill about £400 per month with 3000 texts & 700 minutes). I have always been a fan of the top of the line Nokia's from the 3650 when it came out all the way through till now.
Everyone has worked perfectly, EXCEPT THIS PHONE!
On the 12th December I collect phone from shop as birthday present from father. On the 14th December the software stats mucking up, despite Orange sending it back to Nokia twice to fix it, on the phone diognostics & downloading the latest software it STILL doesn't work.
Don't get me wrong when it does work it works really well & looks very cool, sadly it only works 5% of the time, if that.
So what goes wrong, it's pretty much everything software related.
- My keypad locks itself.
- Ringtone, wallpaper & theme constantly set themself to default.
- Random restarts when call is received & about every 10 to 15 minutes.
- Phone will say text has been sent & message will not be received for 5 to 6 hours.
- Won't let me access memory card.
- Deletes pictures & videos as & when it feels like it.
To name a few.
Basically I am not an Internet nerd & wouldn't normally write on a site like this but I thought that this phone was so bad that I had to tell everyone DO NOT BUY IT & to be honest plain & simple that is my message.
They're on average about £160 & for that you get a funky looking paper weight. (got lots of friends with the N95 & none of them have had problems, therefore I will be moving to that & may I suggest that you learn from my mistake).

I find this phone brilliant but I have mine on contract & I had it for around a month & then the menu button went weird as it all froze & I lost the menu so I lost the use of the phone really! I could still use it but I had to do it the hard way! Yes the other thing is that the ringtone changes after a length of time but really everything else is great nice phone but even better if them problems went on! Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I've had this phone for 3 weeks & thought I was the only user to have faults with it. I replaced the memory card recently to a 4GB, put songs onto it, & it worked fine for the majority of the time. But it's not a wise decision, as the phone has completely crashed.
The buttons don't work, & the phone will no longer connect to my PC. It doesn't respond to the pressing of the buttons.
The guy at the 3 store said it was probably a software problem then I explained that it only froze when I went into my memory card files, & he then admitted he knew JACK ALL! The memory card won't even connect to the PC through an adapter.
I am not too fussed about the battery, but I will be complaining, & hopefully getting a replacement phone. Overall, I don't recommend it, as the keys are sticky & the phone doesn't react.
Plus the network is a pile of rubbish, I get signal in the corners of buildings, high up or near windows (sad to have found this out, maybe! ) Not impressed Nokia.

Although this phone looks amazing, don't be fooled by the looks, never judge a book by its cover!
There are numerous amounts of problems with the phone & the list is endless! The profile settings keep changing to the original Nokia tune, the phone freezes & turns off by itself, battery doesn't hold charge at all, the speakers crackle making the sound so high pitch that you can hear a crackling sound in the back. The list is endless! My handset has been in for repair three times & it keeps coming back with the same faults over n over again & 3G refuse to change the handset! So all in all not only is the phone useless the company policy is as well!

I have had nothing but trouble with this phone, I am on number 4, I have had nearly every fault you can imagine. Today it has managed to lose all my photos stored on the phone also it will not detect the memory card, spoke to T Mobile apparently this is a known problem with this handset, Great! So all my weekend pictures have gone into the abyss, & now can't even play any tunes, plus the annoying Nokia tune reset, can't even customise the phone cause all my personal stuff has gone, Just want to say a BIG Thanks to Nokia for making a really bad phone, they have excelled themselves this time, off to take the phone back for yet another exchange! First I want to give a help to those who can't keep the ringtone. It happened to me & I solved the problem by copying the MP3 file from the card to the Ringtone folder. It looks fantastic & the Stainless steel goes very well.
The speaker sound is not very good & the sound quality when you connect it to an external audio device is horrible!
Comparing to my old K750i, the battery goes out faster, but the screen is bigger, the sound quality is worse & the network sensitivity is also worse. You cannot use it as a flashlight. You don't have a shortcut key to switch to silent mode.
Apart from that, it hasn't frozen more than a couple times, the menu presentation is very nice, the photos are great, although the lens don't have protection.
In conclusion, I like the phone, I hope that the freezing problems disappear with future Firmware. It's a very good multimedia & Internet phone & doesn't have the joystick problem of Sony Ericsson.

Took this phone on an 18 month contract hoping it would be the one for me. I have had more problems with this handset than any other phone I have had it freezes a lot, the settings change automatically wiping out your background & any tones you set.
I have this on network Orange & this is my third handset in a month every time a went to the shop I was told the battery was dying because of 3G being on the guy took it off nope still not good battery life dying in the same day it has been fully charged.
I have been into Orange many times with this phone & they must be the worst for customer service they are cheeky, rude, & have a serious attitude problem towards customers.
My third handset was giving to me today now am praying this works if it don't work properly then I can see me leaving this phone in the gutter & buying a decent phone for myself.

The screen freezes, buttons stick, the wallpaper & ringtone constantly changes back to it default style. I do not recommend this phone unless you want to put up with the hassle with its faults.

Hi ALL, Good & Bad Points.
The Feel Quality & Design.
This Nokia 6500 Slide mobile in my personal opinion is a very good mobile phone. It feels good unlike the other cheap plastic case mobiles. I wish Nokia would listen to us & make all their mobiles with this kind of solid feel to them. I say this as it has a really good feel to it which feels to be in a class of its own.
There is one load speaker on the back however it should have had two on the side instead don't you think Nokia? the memory card is inside of the case near the battery compartment so you can't get the card out quickly for (fast swap) data transfer. I get a hissing noise on my mobile you can slightly fix this problem by turning the sound Clarity on (go to Setting & select CALL). The Battery is very poor & last one day if I use it to the max I.e. For movies, game & calls etc, I had to buy a spare Battery. Why don't Nokia improve the life span on a battery don't they care?
The User Ability.
I thought it was very simple & took me ten minutes to know how it works & how to take pictures without using the user manuals. The setting was a piece of cake & easy to follow.
The Features.
It contains the right amount of features for any moderate user. I of course use it for calls but during past time on a bus or train I like to view movies, yes movies on it & it comes out really good know.
I have used many phones over the years & this beats them hands down. Nokia had their work cut out & made a very good mobile. See for yourself.

So I suppose depends how clean your ears are. For me it is doing headache.

Don't be seduced by its looks. It takes great pictures but if you want to make a call you'd be get better sound from two cans & a piece of string. I have read somewhere here that if you turn off the 3G & leave it on GPRS only the distortion disappears but luckily I got rid of my millstone before trying this out. Someone also suggested charging the battery in a religious fashion for the first three charges, recommended.
Mine was fine for a week before going weird, so beware & send it back as soon it keels over.

I have had this phone for just over a month now. It was costing £30 per month on pay as you go & therefore bought the Nokia 6500 slide on £15 per month 18 month contract.
From my experience of previous mobile phones, I allowed the battery to go completely flat & then placed the phone on charge overnight. (8 hours) the phone died after 24 hours. I repeated the process 3 more times & the same thing happened. I felt that 24 hours use was totally unacceptable for a mobile phone these days!
I returned the phone to the shop & the salesman suggested taking it away & monitoring how many 'signal bars' lit up when I used the phone. I very much doubted it, however, took the phone away anyway.
Low & behold, there was no signal problem, & two days later after another battery death of 24 hours usage, I again returned it to the shop. (Thought you might like to know that the battery died even though 'power saving mode' was turned on, GPRS Packet data was turned to 'when needed' & Bluetooth was turned off! )
To his credit, the salesman offered me another battery out of another new phone. I took this away, & after repeating the previous battery charge process as mentioned earlier, yet again, the battery died, this time after around 37 hours. However, not acceptable in my eyes! Onwards to the shop again, this time the handset & battery were replaced. It appears the problem was the handset itself! Since then, touch wood, I am happy with the phone & is does everything I want it to do. I.e. Text messaging & taking photos.
I will say that in a bad reception area, the battery life really is 24 hours & this is because the battery has to work harder to pick up a signal. (Working in a hospital with thick concrete walls doesn't help! ) I therefore either leave the phone switched off, or leave the phone at home. Other than that, I am now getting 3 to 4 days battery usage which is a lot better!
In summary, the phone looks good, its slide action feels great, its keyboard is a lot easier to use than previous mobile phones & the photos taken with the camera are of unbelievable quality.
On the downside, the battery life could be a bit better & the camera button is in a bit of an awkward position. Hence the reasoning for knocking 30% of design & usability.

The phone is sound, battery life good, & no troubles except what you'd expect from a Symbian OS, e.g sometimes Bluetooth may freeze, or standby mode issues. Another thing is that the Symbian software may drain the battery quicker, or in this case it doesn't. I also find that the camera on the phone is really good, including video capture. The reason I put 95% instead of 100% for usability is mainly just that some of the buttons are a bit stiff or fiddly, but I love the phone in every way & put up with the ordinary bits & bobs that occur. I bet there's not one Symbian Nokia that doesn't have a fault. They all have issues, though I may be wrong. I recommend this phone to anyone who's willing to take the challenge. Believe me, nice phone!

I wasn't totally sure what to expect with this phone as I've read a fair few reviews which have shown some negativity. Also, coming off the back of a Nokia N70, I was even more uncertain as to whether Nokia were the brand to choose again.
I've had it for 3 days now & must say I love it. The looks on this thing could kill, so sharp & sleek. I went for the stainless steel option which I guess will suffer eventually from scratches & finger prints but whilst it's fresh & new this phone looks great.
Always been suspicious of slide phones as the few phones I've used with mechanisms such as slides or flips tend to feel very poorly built. As though the second you try to squeeze the phone into a jeans pocket it's going to disintegrate into a shed load of useless pieces. However, the slide mechanism on this feels very solidly built. I feel as though I don't need to open the unit with tweezers & dental floss, a good finger & thumb will do the job nicely.
The keypad, both on the front & the one uncovered when opened feel great too. Nice large buttons for the banana fingered people out there. The keypad on the front gives you a lot of options too without you even needing to open the phone. A simple touch I know, but I like things like this. Anything which makes my life easier is great. IE, to lock the phone I don't have to struggle to remember if it's the hash key or star key I need to press. Simply hit the go to key on the front, click on 'lock keys' & jobs a good un.
Battery life, the first charge I did was for 16 hours, this eventually run out about 56 hours later. So 2.5 days of constant usage (as you do with a new phone). The second charge I did was for approx 4 hours, I then unplugged the little thing to take upstairs & continue charging, then when plugged back in it nicely told me the battery was at full capacity & to please unplug charger from socket to save energy. Nice touch indeed from Nokia. I don't know if this is a standard feature on phones now but I kindly obliged to the phones requirements ultimately therefore doing my little bit for Mother Nature.
Camera does exactly what I'd expect from a 3.2MP camera. It takes phone quality pictures. I am not asking for a digital camera when I buy a phone, I just want something that can catch a moment for me when I don't have my digital camera with me. That box is ticked by this phone.
To make the phone personal to you is extremely easy. Personal MP3 ringtones & message tones. Themes, wallpapers & screensavers. All things not needed but when put in front of you with such ease of use, you got to take advantage, cue Star Wars Imperial Death March Ringtone with Kylie Minogue Theme.
All in all extremely happy with my phone. Just hope & pray it doesn't suffer from the same faults I found with the N70 such as random reboots & freezing when it likes. Adios.

Just don't buy it & don't believe the hype. Orange are trying to present this piece of rubbish as the best thing since slice bread. Also I felt like a change after having Sony's for a few years & I got sucked in & instead of doing my research agreed to take one for an upgrade.
As a phone it does not come close to my Sony Ericsson k750i (nearly three years old). So what's wrong with it? It freezes regularly, has no battery life (one warning & then it's off, whereas my Sony could go on for days on next to nothing), it a right rigmarole sending a text, camera isn't bad for pictures quality but can only film up to 5 minutes, & really it's a job to do basic things like put it onto silent. It also lacks practical extras that the Sony had like a torch. Its saving grace is that it is quite pretty but that doesn't save it. Keeping my Sony ready for the day I smash this (after saving any files & transferring them of course! ).
