Nokia 6300i Review

The Nokia 6300i is a highly capable mobile phone complete with voice over IP call feature & easy to use communication features. The handset comes in a subtle grey coloured casing with well spaced out function keys & keypad. The Nokia 6300i has a solid bar styled casing which is easy to hold & operate due to its well proportioned casing. It is 11.7mm deep by 43.6mm wide by 106.4mm tall & it weighs 93 gram with the battery included. The 6300i is a member of the Nokia family which includes the Nokia 6300 which has no WLAN connectivity & the Nokia 6301 which comes with WLAN connectivity.

The TFT screen is two Inches in size when measured diagonally & displays up to 16.7 million colours on a high resolution screen. The built in camera feature is a 2 megapixel digital camera complete with easy to use imaging & camera features. The user can get up close to their target using the 8 x digital zoom feature & view their picture in full screen on the two Inch colour display. The camera feature supports video capabilities which allow the user to capture moving video recordings as well as still pictures. A built in music player allows the user to enjoy a lively music experience on their mobile phone & the music player supports MP3, AAC, ACC+, eAAC+ & WMA music formats. The user can transfer all their favourite tracks onto their phone or buy music over the Internet. The phone comes with easy to use music controls & features which make the music feature & fun experience for the user. The Nokia 6300i can play ringing tones in MP3, MIDI, polyphonic sound & true tones format. An integrated radio feature allows the user to tune into their favourite FM radio station & enjoy a new listening experience every time they tune in.

The user can create, send & receive a selection of messages on the Nokia 6300i. The phone comes with an audio messaging service which allows the user to share audio with others which including voice recordings & sound. A multimedia message can contain a picture with sound & text which can be shared with any MMS compatible contacts. A text message also known as a SMS message contains text & can be sent to any SMS compatible user. The Nokia 6300i comes with a mobile email service complete with an attachment feature which allows the user to send & receive attachments with their emails. The Nokia 6300i comes with useful everyday features which include a Nokia maps complete with preloaded maps, countdown timer, alarm clock, an organiser complete with a calendar function & a to do list.

The battery can provide the user with up to 3.5 hours of GSM talk time or up to 3 hours of voice over IP talk time. The battery can provide approximately 340 hours of battery standby time or 96 hours of WLAN time. The phone works on a tri band network which covers three GSM networks & will switch between the networks without the user knowing. The user can enjoy making an inexpensive voice over IP calls at home using the phone built in technology. The phone supports WLAN technology which allows the user to enjoy connection their phone to the Internet over a wireless network connection. The 6300i also supports EDGE technology & Bluetooth® wireless technology. The user can connect their phone to other devices wirelessly using Bluetooth® technology. The phone also comes with a mini USB port which allows the user to use a cabled connection between their phone & other devices. The phone comes with 30 megabytes of internal user memory plus the phone comes with a 512 megabytes MicroSD™ memory card which allows the user to store all their pictures & music with ease. The Nokia 6300i comes with a built in Opera mini Browser which allows the user to surf the Web on their new stylish mobile phone.

Had this phone a few days now SIM free. Same as the 6300. Pleased overall except, which has always been a problem, the battery life which is poor if you start accessing the web & particularly wireless. Otherwise brilliant phone for what I want.
