I got this phone few weeks ago & now I am going to throw it! Deleting anything is so irritating because there is no cancel button. So you have to go to option first, then find delete after 6 or 7 options, then select it & finally press 'yes'. It's not louder enough & does not support picture in text massage format but you will be able to receive pictures in this format. IF anyone KNOWS HOW TO ACTIVATE PICTURE IN THIS FORMAT PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Last & the worst thing is if you press the red button anyhow, doesn't matter where you are, everything will be closed & you will see the desktop.

I have to agree with those who say the battery runs down quickly. The phone is great but the run down time on the battery is a definite minus, it's as if the phone is too powerful for the battery & the battery not powerful enough for the phone. Nokia should make available a high capacity battery to overcome this problem, otherwise it's a great phone.

I have just got my Nokia 6300, I got an upgrade to a Samsung SGH U600 last week & although it looked very nice it drove me mad, couldn't get on with it at all, I had to go all round the houses to do the most basic things, more annoying than that was the touch screen buttons which meant it is far too easy to call people by accident as this button is right where your thumb naturally rests. What it did was very pretty & lovely but it just made me angry! I want a phone that is useable! Anyway, the T Mobile shop kindly let me change it to a Nokia 6300 & I am really, really happy with it, it is very useable, It's true it doesn't have all the whistles & bells the U600 did but it does everything I need it to & looks good, it's comfortable to hold & I definitely recommend it.
Only let downs are, the ringtone volume could do with being a bit louder, I find some things on it are a bit hard to find, I thought there were no games on it but there are, there are three but they are quite hidden, also the battery is not great but how difficult is it to plug it in every 2 to 3 days? I don't mind that at all. Before this phone I had a Sony Ericsson K580i which I did like & was happy with but it started going wrong after 18 months (which is good going really) & I hoped to find a phone as easy to use which this Nokia definitely is.
I recommend it to anyone thinking about it. Quite possibly the best phone I've ever had which is why I've taken the time to write this & let you know how happy I am with it :).

Very pleased with this phone, it has a sleek look & easy to use functions, only criticism is when you go from one folder to another it's a bit slow, other than that. Great phone!

All those people that say that it is impossible to take the back cover off to put the battery in are all thick, it is not impossible, it is easy.
Other people complaining about the battery, well if you use the phone for a long time then the battery is going to be low.
For the people who are complaining about the phone heating up, only does that if you charge & use the phone at the same time for a long time, which any phone would do that.
Everyone else complaining about miner things are need to get understand that nothing is perfect so deal with it, this phone is one of the best phones I ever have had, been using it since it came out & still plan on using it for many more years to come, everything about it is good, it's nice & simple, easy to use.

A lot of people complain about the battery running out after 1 day. Doesn't that just mean that you are using it a lot which means that it is a good phone & does what it supposed to do? If the key pad is too small then get hand surgery to reduce your hand size. Who ever said it is quiet is incorrect. It's the loudest phone I have heard in a while & I have had a fair few.
Would definitely suggest buying. Great phone but some people are argumentative & want to complain about every little thing in life!

Had this phone for one month now & I am very happy with it, I made my choice after many hours on here & decided not to go with the more modern 6500 range as it appeared to have a poor review. The 6300 in black is a fine looking phone & if you've ever had a Nokia before you won't be needing the instruction book as it is child's play to use.

- Good value for money.
- It has all the necessary features.
- Light & slim.
- Comes with an older version of Opera Mobile, I downloaded the latest (version 4) works even better!
- Email features are easy to setup & use & reliable.
- Great camera for on the go pictures.
The only downfall is the metal frame, it gives the phone good looks, but DO NOT DROP THIS PHONE, the metal frame WILL warp or bend.
Overall it's a great phone & well worth the price.

Pro's.

- Price.
- Typical Nokia in most ways, but with better applications.
- Built in MP3.
- Fast Bluetooth.
- Small.
Con's.
- Quite vast, many people have them.
- Camera only has digital zoom.
- Too Quiet.
- Awful battery life.
- Memory only expandable to 2GB (I found this after buying a 4GB card! ).
Overall a VERY good phone, & well worth buying.

Very nice & simple to use phone. My only complaint is that buttons are very small (& I don't have large hands! ).
I do keep finding myself sending blank texts as I keep forgetting the middle button is send & not clear! (as it was on my old phone).
Lastly, I have changed the profile names but for some reason they keep reverting back to the old names (but with my new settings).
Really no major problems at all. Battery life is short but I am pretty much used to that with whatever phone I have.

Brilliant phone if not a little Nokia like in its style. I love it because it is sleek, functional & has not let me down once in 6 months of usage.
The thing with choosing a new phone is don't be put off by other people's bad reviews. I have been looking for another handset because I get bored easily & as I have this phone for another 12 months on contract I want to be able to change it when I get bored.
People will always have problems with any handset & they are the unlucky ones. I like the look of the Nokia 7373 but there is a mix of very good reviews & some not so good but this is the same with the Sony Ericsson w580i too. I liked the look of this in pink but people keep saying that the keys crack easily.
I am on O2 so will get my other phone from their website, that way I can go in to the shop locally if I do have problems & hopefully they can sort it out quicker than if I buy it from an solely Internet trader.
If you listened to all the bad reviews on phone handsets you would not buy anything at all. Pot luck usually dictates a faulty phone & if the seller is reputable they should fix this easily & at no cost to you if still in warranty.
Anyhow, I digress somewhat. This phone I highly recommend.

The BEST! Why are people saying that they heat up? Mines perfectly fine, probably you didn't charge it properly or something, I've had this phone for 3 months, only a couple of little tiny scratches & I LOVE THIS PHONE & people at school were jealous of me.

I upgraded from my 4 year old Nokia 6100 & couldn't be more pleased. The 6300 is a lovely looking phone, sleek & very stylish.
I didn't think I would ever listen to music on a phone but now that I can, I do! It detects any new music you put which is very easy to do either with the Nokia PC software (using Bluetooth with my laptop)or just by going into My Computer & dragging & dropping into your Nokia music folder, all you then have to do is update the music library.
The phone does not come with a USB cable but I ordered one for 99p plus postage on eBay, in case I am using my older computer which doesn't have Bluetooth.
Great clear sound quality, on the radio as well. A word of advice when using the Nokia software don't ask it to convert to mobile optimising format, this is AAC & does not sound good, although takes up a fraction of the memory. Keep the music files as MP3, you won't get as much on but the sound quality is heaps better.
Another feature I like is putting a photo of your friends & family in the contacts so when they ring, their picture comes up! Now if only they would ring me!
I've set up my own most used shortcuts, there is a nifty Go to button which you can personalise with what you want, e.g. Lock Keypad, Switch Bluetooth on & off etc.
The battery life does not seem great, but then for the first few days I did have the Bluetooth switched on permanently. Now I put it on only when I need to use it which has helped, but the battery does still seem to run down more quickly than on my old Nokia, however this could well be because I am using it a lot more.
All in all, delighted with this phone & will never again have anything but a Nokia (I sent back a Samsung J600 which I did not like, see separate review).

I am about to replace this phone as I now work on the basis that it's best to change each year regardless, the parents inherit each old phone for a further year's use. This is the first one that I'll be sad to see the back of. It has been reliable (good news for the oldies! ) & a very accomplished performer. I am struggling to know what to replace it with a Nokia 6500 Classic is favourite, although a 7900 Prism is also in the running but think that might be all style & no substance.
The 6300 is sleek & it the only phone I have owned that people comment on & admire, it is also very well built despite the fact it is quite slim & not bulky. 3 people in the office now have one. The functions are easy to use & it just seems to work. No issues at all.
I am asking myself why I am replacing it to be honest.

This being my sixth Nokia after having tried Samsung, Motorola & Sony Ericsson I can only say it is probably one of the best phones if not the best I have used, the only real issue I have with it & that is when using the Bluetooth hands-free, there tends to be a bit of an echo in the background & I am unable to answer via voice command other than that, it's a good phone.

I upgraded almost a year ago from a Motorola RAZR V3i to the Nokia 6300, & quite honestly I miss my old phone. I can't fault the Nokia though. I have to admit that Nokia's are usually great quality phones & very user friendly, & this is certainly true of the 6300. But some reason I find it just a bit dull. I like phones with style, & the 6300 is a bit plain & square for me. The only other gripe I'd have is that the keys are tiny, so if you have big hands like me you'll often end up pressing two buttons at once when texting, which is irritating.
If you like a phone that will stand out in a crowd, my advice would be to go with Samsung or Motorola. However, if you like Nokia's & aren't really fussed about having a good looking phone, then the 6300 is a good solid choice.

Best phone in the world nothing compares top this remarkable phone. Better than touch screen navigation rubbish.
Reviewer: Wayne - Wavre, Belgium
Date: 21st Feb 2008
This is a great little phone, simple to use both in terms of its user interface & decent sized keys; & by choosing a matt finish for the stainless steel casing panels Nokia have avoided the 6300 being difficult to keep looking clean, something that afflicts Nokia's own much more expensive 8800 range.
To address some of the common criticisms, the reason that the 6300 seems to get hot in use is that it's made of steel, & metal conducts the heat generated by using the phone more than the plastics used in most phones. I am prone to headaches, but I have found no additional ill effects from using the 6300 than with any other phone.
Many people criticise the battery life, the 6300 uses a thin, lightweight battery to allow the ultra slim design, so battery life is a little lower than average, but far too many people judge a phone by the talk & standby times quoted in the specs, like all modern phones, to if you want to conserve battery life make sure that Bluetooth & GPRS are not permanently active, & remember that the using the multimedia features are also drains on the available power. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT FOLLOW the ADVICE OF SOME REVIEWERS HERE & FIT the LARGER BL5C BATTERY, this battery is too large for the 6300, forcing such a battery into a phone not designed accommodate it will invalidate your warranty, risk damaging the phone & potentially present risks to your own safety.
The 6300 is great as a music player, the sound is clear through the loudspeaker & through the supplied headphones. I can only imagine that those who complain about volume have already destroyed their eardrums using MP3 players made before legislation restricted the number of decibels permitted to be pumped directly into the human ear. A big downside is that you can't create playlists via the inbuilt music player, you have to connect to your PC or laptop & use the Music Manager software provided with the phone to do this. One advantage of the Music manager is the ability to convert MP3 files into M4A format, which is just as good in terms of sound quality whilst occupying much less memory space.
Video playback on the large, clear, 16m colour screen is excellent, but you're best sticking to 3GP formats. Current software versions of the software can play MP4 files, but only MP4 & H.264, & even then not always reliably.
The preinstalled ringtones are a lacklustre collection, even the Nokia ringtone is a rather insipid version than you find on some models. If you bury you phone in a pocket or handbag, choice of ringtone is as important to hearing the phone ring as the volume.
The 2MP camera takes crisp, clear photos in good light conditions, & the night mode improves things a little in poor light, though the lack of a flash does limit the photographic abilities of the phone.
There is one circumstance in which I would not recommend the 6300, & that is if you use Bluetooth headsets or car kits, the 6300 has issues with such devices & call quality can be blighted by echoes.

I have had this phone now for 3 months & it does exactly what it says on the box. Having bought this to replace my Motorola I can only sing its praises. The 2 megapixel camera is more than adequate for a phone & if I want to take good pictures I use my canon slr! As for the MP3 player I thought this was a good idea until I tried to use my phone for a call & discovered I used most of the battery (don't get a lot of calls! ) so ditch that for a proper MP3 player.
I think this phone is well designed & thought out. If you are in the market for a new phone, go on buy one.

I have recently purchased Nokia 6300, & think it's great, having previously worked for Nokia Customer Service, I am surprised to see so many poor & negative reviews, relating to the complaints of the Nokia 6300 & I have to laugh & prompt the question, Try before you buy.
Like Music it's down to personal choice & taste, what you look for in a phone whether you use it for Calls, Texts, Camera, music etc, yes you may have problems & issues with the handset with new technology nothing is guaranteed.
As long as you can make calls & send texts, after all it is a Mobile Phone, people forget with so many features on the phone uses power so power may not last as long as per the specs, the specs states purely if the phone is idle & power can last up to that period of time, also requires an initial 14 hour charge when first bought before use with the phone switched off & repeat this process at least once a month let the power run down completely this will maintain a healthy battery life, so many have told me over the years that they don't, this is where the battery life/power issues come into play.
As previous reviews state if you want the best quality in camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth etc you can buy separate devices in which this can be enhanced to your satisfaction, these features are merely an added bonus to the phone.
It would be nice to read more positive reviews on products as the old saying is too many people remember the negatives opinions & are quick to voice them rather than the positives.
In the last 10 years I have had a number of Nokia handsets where they have lasted for 3 to 4 years, I personally think how the phone is used by the owner is the main issue.

Having lived with an ancient Siemens A50 for five years, I am amazed how the technology advanced! It does all what is advertised & even a bit more (after I found & installed Java applications for making ebook midlets & for reading PDFs), & looks good, too. The only minor flaw is the design of the USB port cover, which is difficult to open. Contrary to Nokia's assertions, the connection to PC works fine with a non Nokia USB cable.
I do not experience the battery or heating problems, battery lasts for 3 days of moderate use (a couple of short calls & some SMS per they, some 30 to 50 minutes of ebook, PDF reading while commuting, use of the organiser, a bit of playing with the camera since the phone is still a new toy). My husband, who also has a 6300, experiences the same.
The phone gets warm but not unpleasantly hot during calls, maybe due to the good thermal conductivity of the metal body.
Other peoples complaints seem to suggest that there may be a bad batch of batteries in some 6300s (which fits both the short life & heating issue), but if this is the case, we have been obviously lucky.

I got this a sensible replacement to my Pink RAZR which broke after many years service. I chose it for all the reasons a grown up person should chose a phone, durability, ease of use & practicality. I was very disappointed & replaced it after a few days, initially I noticed the screen was damaged & then that it got very hot during calls, only around 10 to 20 minutes long. I couldn't understand the functions very easily, the sound was crackly during a call & the camera quality was really bad. On the plus it feels very substantial & grown up but the negatives outweighed it. I decided I'd had enough of being grown up & & chose a frivolous blue Samsung J600 to replace it. So far it's much better & is more fun, the camera is better too, which is odd because it's 1.3 as opposed to 2 mp. On the whole I was surprised at the Nokia, I thought they were like the Fords of the mobile phone world, reliable, sturdy & run for ever. I might have just been unlucky, but it put me off getting another one.

LISTEN. This phone is good, does what it says on the box. Let's face facts it's a phone that makes & receives calls, it also sends & receives text, now you can't please some people. If you want a camera buy a camera etc it's that simple, I use a phone camera for quick pictures & I am happy.
Nokia makes good & simple to use phones compared to some other phones I've had. In my opinion Nokia just gets better so all of you who have complaints please get a life & use the phone for what it was made for, anything else is a bonus. This is a good overall phone, Take my advice buy one.

Got this phone as a Christmas present, was amazed at the feel & looks. It has everything I want & more. After about a week I noticed the vibrate was not working properly, it would work (weakly)when the phone was laying flat but would stop when the phone was tilted or stood upright, very odd!
Took it back to Carphone Warehouse, who replaced it on the spot without a receipt, the new one is perfect. Battery life is not great, 2 days between charges, but the battery out of my old 6100 is the same, so I have a spare. I hear the BL 5 battery lasts longer but is not recommended, anyone know about this?
I got 50 songs on the original memory card, plus about 30 pictures & 20 video clips. I got a 2GB card for my birthday so this will be more than enough. Not had any overheating problems, but haven't actually made many calls yet.
Overall I am VERY impressed.

I've had a 6300 now for several months & despite it's great looks, comfortable handling & packed features, it's a big let down on stand-by & Bluetooth! I've resolved the battery life by changing the originally supplied battery for Nokia's BL-5C which is a higher capacity battery & doubles the operating life.
The Bluetooth though is a complete dud.
I've tried several Nokia Bluetooth headsets with this phone, all of which will randomly become disconnected from the phone. There are numerous posts elsewhere regarding Bluetooth on this product (wish I'd found them before buying the phone) & it seems to be a generic problem with this model. Interestingly, if I email Nokia with a sales query I get a reply, if I email them regarding Bluetooth failure on the 6300, I hear nothing!
Don't get me wrong, apart from Bluetooth it's a lovely, feature packed product, but I am going to change it for a Nokia 3110 instead!

OK. I am getting this phone in about 2-3 weeks after having my old Nokia for 3 years I am absolutely in love with nokias.
NOW my GRIPE. It's NOT about the Phone but ABOUT the PEOPLE using the phone. I have read SOOO many complaints about this phone not having a flash, ITS A PHONE! I you want a flash get your money & buy a real CAMERA.
Second- people complaining about Bluetooth if you want good music BUY AN iPod/MP3!
IT'S A PHONE IT DOES WHAT A PHONE IS SUPPOSED TO DO! MAKE CALLS! The US & the UK are getting way to dependant on all these upgrades offered. All you're buying a phone to do is CALL & TEXT as I sated earlier if you want music & pictures BUY the ELECTRONIC DEVICE MEANT FOR THAT TASK. All & all I believe I will be very satisfied with the Nokia 6300. WAY TO GO Nokia KEEP EM' COMING.

This phone is just great. The design using stainless steel is just great & practical. It gives the phone that robust feeling & an executive look. The features are great too compared to my old Nokia phones with symbian OS. The symbian OS hangs often & fonts are not adjustable. I like the adjustable font feature of this phone, very useful for a man my age. Camera is good, I miss the flash though. Radio & MP3 players are good too with their stereo features. I highly recommend this phone to anyone interested in a practical phone.

I would have to say this is the best Nokia I have had I did have the n95 b4 this but battery life was so poor it didn't not last a whole day the battery is a little better on this phone & is better looking. The only down side is no flash on the camera but that doesn't bother me because it has a fab MP3 player on it. If you want a fairly cheap easy to use sleek phone this is the one for you.

There is a known fault on a batch of 6300's sold through Tesco. I gave my son one for Xmas, worked fine for two days but we had to take it back after if decided to keep turning itself off! Got a replacement on the 30th, it worked fine for a day then it too decided to keep turning itself off! The phone's going back tomorrow! By the way the guy on the Tesco Mobile Helpline told me that they have had loads of calls & that they knew about this fault before Xmas! Every little helps!

- I have not had any heating up problems during calls or while charging.
- Nokia's battery life claim is a joke. You have to put it on charge every night like in the good old days. The 6300 leaves the screen lit up for ages. I can't help thinking this is a major cause of the problem but I can't find a setting that reduces the back light on time.
- the back is easy to remove, no sticking problems as one reviewer reported. This is good because you have to take the back off to change the memory card.
- the screen is great but Nokia have limited the video play back features. I guess they want to keep that for higher end models.
- the steel version has stunning looks & a quality feel.
- Good reception. I work in a basement & this is the first mobile I have had that will make calls from there.
- the USB port is much faster than that on any other phone I have had. On my last Sony, transferring 2G of data using the USB cable would have taken most of the day so a card reader had to be used. Sadly the phone will not charge from the USB port, missed a trick there Nokia. You don't need to install Nokia's software to access the memory card. It appears as a drive on your computer.
- the Radio & MP3 player are quite good but you need an adaptor to use standard headphones.
- Slim design, fits in a pocket without causing a bulge.
This is the first Nokia I have had. My past three phones have been from Sony. Am I happy with it? Yes, despite the poor battery life, because it makes phone calls in places where none of the Sony offerings could.
This is a good & stylish phone which with a few changes (bigger battery, video play back & USB charging) would be a excellent one.

I write to outline an initial purchase of a N-Series of events evolved as follows.
Sunday 9th December 2007, Purchased a Nokia 6300 telephone from Tesco, together with groceries totalling in excess of £40 enabling the local offer of a reduced price telephone at £99.97 (or similar). Phone fully charged as per handbook, but stopped functioning around 9 pm at home. It briefly switched on, flashed the initial Nokia symbol & then switched off. Recharged overnight, no change by morning.
Monday 10th December 2007 08.00 a.m, Telephone exchanged without quibble at Tesco, for same model. Duly charged throughout the day. 2 GB Micro SD memory card bought from Carphone Warehouse (Tesco advised they do not stock them), purchase price £19.05. I loaded music onto card, photographs & ringtones from Nokia 6230 & inserted Tesco SIM card. Phone switched itself off then behaved as previous phone after about 16 hours use. Phoned Tesco Mobile, as instructed on the leaflet with which the receipt was attached, was given a long 'PIN Number' to produce when exchanging.
Tuesday 11th December 2007, Second telephone taken to nearest Tesco store. Situation explained at customer services, PIN Number deemed totally irrelevant, & duty manager consulted by Team Leader. Advised that till receipt from Old Swan Tesco, did not have date & time on the bottom, so telephone would have to be returned to previous Tesco. Explained (politely) that this was rather inconvenient & requested that contacted other store to verify transaction, offering my Club Card, if it was of any help. The duty manager reiterated that it was company policy not to accept undated till receipts & that it was my responsibility to check the receipt was correctly printed. I responded by pointing out that the till receipt was perforated top & bottom by the receipt dispenser & that was not noticed this until it had been pointed out to me. I pointed out that it would take, due to traffic at this time of the day, over an hour to make this round trip & that I'd been in this branch for over 30 minutes already, as shopping was needed anyway whilst waiting for the store to return the telephone call, confirming my transaction, Stated would be content to wait for the confirmatory phone call. This took an obligatory hour. The call was made & the exchange authorised. The telephone was charged, as previously, my Tesco SIM card from my other phone inserted & all appeared to function correctly.
Thursday 13th December 2007 around 4.00 p.m, Noticed telephone had switched itself off, despite being locked. Telephone returned to Tesco together with full explanation of the story so far. Team Leader exceptionally helpful & suggested that the only thing they could conclude was that possibly I had not charged the battery for long enough. It was suggested I take the telephone home & charge it overnight. I stated that I was more than happy to do this & was in fact doubting my own sanity with regard this model of telephone, wondering what on earth made me the only person to have found fault with it. Suggested that the store may like to conduct this experiment themselves which was agreed & that if I was wrong, that I would not only offer profuse apologies, but also buy the team leader a bottle of wine for my being a nuisance, if it worked the following morning. (Sincerely hoped I was wrong & had undercharged the phone battery.)
Friday 14th December 2007, Arrived back at Tesco on my way to work, Went to customer services, advised by a very helpful Team Leader there was a message regarding the telephone & that the duty manager would deal upon arrival as she was fully aware of the situation. Rang my workplace to advise I may be delayed. Team leader enquired of the set of circumstances. Advised team leader of the situation & she rang security to retrieve the handset. Again, despite the recharge, the handset did not work. Whilst waiting for the telephone & browsing in the vicinity of customer services, there was now an offer on this particular handset which offered it for sale at £64.97, providing over £25 was spent in-store prior to purchase. I asked Team Leader what to do in light of the fact that all that was wanted was a mobile phone of this particular model that worked, nothing more. Advised that the choice was either a full cash refund or a (4th! ) replacement telephone. As I had bought all the accessories for this particular model, there seemed little choice but to try another exchange in the hope that the defective batch existed no more. Enquired as to whether I was entitled to a £35 refund due to the new offer but was advised that since the initial purchase was made before the offer that this would not be possible. Suggested that if a full cash refund were given, £25 spent on groceries, then a new telephone purchased, then surely this would be acceptable. Advised by team leader that as a goodwill gesture, it would indeed seem appropriate. Duly received cash refund & started shopping for groceries totalling in excess of £25. Halfway through my shopping the Team Leader approached me, very apologetically & explained that, the duty manager has said that because you have already had 3 telephones, you are not allowed to buy another on this particular offer. I explained, very politely, that I felt rather aggrieved by this, but in similar circumstances could understand that it looked very strange that only one person could possibly manage to obtain 3 consecutive defective telephones from 3 different Tesco outlets. I left the store having made no purchase.
Summary, Appalling customer service & still no response. Have since purchased same model Nokia 6300 from Carphone Warehouse on O2 (£60) has functioned entirely perfectly as advertised.

Hi everyone. First thing I want to say to everyone who is reading this review & wanting advice on whether to buy it or not don't think twice. If you are after a good reliable, sleek, smart & an overall quality phone don't hesitate to buy it.
I have had this phone for 10 months now since it has come out & I have had no problem what so ever. It's also very simple to use compared to other phones of different brands. I have had many phones such as the e900, LG Choc, Nokia 7210 & many more but this has got to be the best phone I have had. I don't feel ashamed to take this out its pretty modern & puts other phones to shame like the u600 which came out around the same time. My friend owns one of them & it has caused nothing but problems he says it has appeal which I think is hilarious every time he says it because it's made out of plastic from recycled cups. My sister also owns one & its screen has broken down a number of times.
Buy this phone no regrets. One problem battery lasts a day but it's understandable, which phone nowadays has a battery life that lasts longer than a day maybe two? None. People saying its music playback is rubbish if you to want to listen to music buy a MP3! Simple. It's like buying an iPod & expecting it to make calls. It's a phone it does its job & for what it's made for. Trust me people if you look after this phone it will not disappoint. If I had £70.00 I can't think of a better phone to buy than this. Reliable as a Honda, slick as a Beemer, easy to use as a hammer LOL.

Overall a good phone but as always a few little niggles which are very annoying sometimes. Firstly after using the phone for a while it tends to overheat so I have to turn it off to cool down & by using I mean Bluetooth & text messaging things that will wear the battery down.
Secondly every time I take a photo some part of it turns green. I don't know if this is just my problem but it happens all the time (so now my sister won't let me have a picture of her when she calls me because her hair is green! )
After getting some music on my phone the first tune went to my received files but the rest went to my memory card so I can't play them one by one I have to switch folders to great one song! Does anyone know how to fix this?
When I first got it I tried to get the back off, it said on the instructions to just slide it off, but this was a bit of a struggle as I didn't want to accidently break it! As I say overall a good phone everything else works & it does (mostly) what it says on the box.

I bought this phone in September 2007. I was disappointed with its short battery talk time (2 days maximum), difficulty to open the back panel to change SIM card, tiny volume control & voice recording not sensitive. After a day of use, its captured photos started showing cross hairs in them. That was annoying. Good points are it's slim, very light, attractive design, bright clear display & easy to use menus. Overall rating it's not recommended.

I can't understand those that criticise this phone, for that's what it is. It isn't a digital camera (it has a perfectly usable one for those moments when you just want to take a quick snap), it isn't an MP3 player (although the one included is adequate for listening to podcasts), it's a phone! Can these people not do a little specification research before buying one?

Very disappointed with the 6300. I am quite astonished by how utterly rubbish the battery life is (my main gripe), but for the superfluous features I might as well have an old fashioned phone & cable given its limited mobility. After a miserable week of use (mostly recharging!) I have returned it to the shop. I am now going to purchase an antique Nokia 6310i from eBay. If I need the Internet I'll use my Apple, if I need to take a picture I can use my digital camera. Get a grip Nokia!

I recently got this phone, & I was initially hesitant after reading reviews on here saying that people have experienced bad sound, over heating & poor battery life.
I've not suffered any of these so far! I made sure that I charged the battery to instruction, right now I am on my 4th day of battery life & it's not showing power loss yet. I haven't spoken much on the phone, just text but still, 4 days is a fair time! The battery doesn't overheat, & I've had no issue with sound quality. The only thing that's a bit rubbish about this phone is that there aren't many manufacturer set tones & wallpapers etc at all, but I can get these myself if I am so bothered.
I think overall this is a timeless, classic phone. It does what it should, & it does it well. It's very easy to use, looks nice & is thin enough to fit in my tiny fashion handbags. I like the material used to make it, it's classy & doesn't scratch easily.
& so I am quite happy with this phone, I can see it lasting me a good while. I've had Samsung, LG & Motorola phones, but nothing beats a good Nokia!

I love the look of the Nokia 6300, & it has all the features of previous Nokia phones I have owned & more.
The only thing I would grumble about the Nokia 6300 is that the battery life is very poor. The phone description states that the battery will last 14.5 days on standby, however from experience, if you have limited use of the phone, the battery becomes low very quickly. It's the only thing I would say lets this fabulous phone down.
