Nokia 6230 Review

The Nokia 6230 is a very compact & stylish mobile phone which comes with some excellent features. The 6230 come in a choice of graphite grey or pearl white coloured casing & both colours compliments the design of the phone. The 6230 looks like the Nokia 6233 but that is where the familiarity end as the Nokia 6233 comes with a 3G technology & more built in features than the 6230. The phone has a great feel to it as it weighs a total of 97 grams & the size feels perfect in the users hand as it measures 103 x 44 x 20 mm which is a very good sized phone.

The 6060 comes with a 65k colour screen (160 x 128 pixels) which is perfect for displaying messages, games, screensavers & wallpapers. The screen provides a good quality display which is very bright & clear.

The Nokia 6230 is an easy to use phone with a very clear 65k colour screen (128 x 128 pixels) & the screen is super for displaying all the photos & video recording that the user has captured. The camera is great fun to use & the user can really create the perfect photo with all the added camera features. The 6230 comes complete with a built in video recorder & player which allows the user to record or play their footage easily. The video recording can either be saved on the phone, sent to a contact via multimedia messaging service or the user may choose to simply play it.

The built in FM radio is a very enjoyable feature but it can also be very useful as the user can select the radio to come on as an alarm. The Nokia 6230 makes it possible for the user to be woken up each morning by the sound of their favourite radio station.

The user can enjoy the messaging features on this phone as the phone offers each & every possible messaging service & they are all very simple to use. The phone includes multimedia messaging (MMS), text messaging (SMS), email & instant messaging (chat). The MMS service allows the user to send photos, video recordings, sound & text all together in one message which can be sent to any MMS compatible device. Hi, I want to change my 6230 phone as my contract is ending. I want to keep the Nokia interface as I like it but reading all the reviews on current Nokia phones they all seem to be pretty useless! Can anyone recommend a reasonably reliable, hardwearing Nokia, I really only need the basics with Bluetooth & Web Access connection for my Tom Tom. Thanks.

One of the best phones, I have had the phone for about 2 years now & it has had previous owner so it's pretty old, yet time after time when I drop it, it just carries on working fine.

All that I have had new for it is a couple of cases & a new battery because I blew the old one up. One of the best phones on the market & always stick with Nokia!

I would recommend it non stop if I could, cheers JONO.

When this phone came out it was the best phone out, it had everything you wanted in a mobile phone. This was my first video & MP3 phone & I have never looked back on Nokia again all my phones have been Nokias & they are great.

For the money they are now 2nd hand they are a great phone for your children, it has everything you would want on it.

The camera isn't the best but who cares when this phone is great every where else.

I would recommend this phone to anyone!

Owned this phone since 2004.

It's been dropped more times than I can remember, filled with drool & chewed by kid, (took two days to dry out) & it's still going. It is TOUGH & durable.

Cutting edge in its day but camera is poor by modern standards. I run it with a 512MB card which gives more than enough space for music & vids.

Only faults I've had is it not wanting to switch back on, but it's hardly ever been off so it's not really a prob. That & when viewing some wap pages it seems to reset itself but nothing is ever lost.

I've been looking to replace it for something with a better camera that isn't the 6230i but I cannot find anything that comes close without having serious hardware faults, battery problems, buttons beings too small & just too fragile.

Nokia out did themselves when they made this phone but unfortunately have yet to come up with anything better.

A very reliable phone. I've had it for a year & a half now, & with my baby always playing with it, dropping it, stepping on it, I can guarantee to you, it is REALLLY resistant. The battery still lasts for 4 - 5 days, which is good, because I keep forgetting to recharge it. The camera is nothing special, but OK. The greatest flaw is the poor memory. But, on the other hand, it was cheap. It is impossible to find a better phone for its modest price. I won't change it yet. Oh, yes! Another thing: the lack of Blue tooth is a real shame. Otherwise, a very good mobile phone.

This is a good mobile but the design just looks too simple, people won't go WOW a Nokia 6230, hate the center button though. You can't control it properly, but the Nokia 6230I fixed this. Lots of features on it though.

I think that some of these reviewers are wrong. The 6230 is a gem of a phone &, typically Nokia, a doddle to use. The camera is acceptable bearing in mind that it is primarily a phone.

Had this phone for 2 years, first handset I had that took pictures, played music/radio. Good reliable phone, always there for me, always did the job. Nice & easy to use. Not especially good looking but a decent simple design. A mobile phone classic - everyone should have owned this phone once in their mobile lives.

Just upgraded to a SE 800i but had 6230 for 18 months. It is excellent & with no problmes what-so-ever. It does everything well.

Shortage of memory is only problem if you want to play tunes, but a reliable phone that will either hand down or sell on.

Love this Nokia it is a reliable & neat phone. It is not as heavy as I thought it would be & it is a great feeling phone. The camera is very good but the video recording could be a little bit longer. I am very happy with this phone & have had it for ages. I know there are loads of more technical phones out there at the moment but I like to stick to what I know best. It works very well & that is what counts.

I have been the owner of a 6230 for over 6 months now & I am looking to replace it in the next couple of months. I was looking at this site to help me find my next mobile phone & it is a very useful site. My 6230 has been a very good phone to use & it hasn't failed me in any way what so ever. I am so happy with it that it will be a shame to let it go. I can't complain about it in any way, all I can do is tell you how reliable it has been. I have lots of pleasure taking pictures with the camera & find using the messaging features really easy. I use the radio a lot & the sound is quite good considering it is a mobile phone radio. I will have to have a radio on my next phone as I have become to expect it now on my phone. My phone is very nice to hold & the keys are precise when selecting them. I use my Bluetooth headset all the time & it is a must have feature. Still not sure what phone I will be choosing next but if it is as good as this one has been then I will be very happy. I will stick with Nokia most probably.

6230 is a treasure of a phone. I have one & my mum has it as well, we are both overjoyed by this phone. I have had mine for a long time & mum got her one about three or four months ago because mine was so good. I have the dark grey one & mum has the white one so we don't get too confused when grabbing our mobiles on the way out of the door. We are always texting & MMS each other & our friends. Mum had a few problems setting up her MMS in the beginning but now it is all set up with her service provider & works well. I love mobile phones & would love a new one soon, but think I will save up & get a 3G phone with good internet services next time & it will have to be one from the Nokia range. I will not trade in this phone as I will keep it as a stand by phone in case I am not happy with my next one. I have to have a phone with games on it to keep me entertained when I'm not studying & this phone did keep me entertained in my time of need. It was not too expensive when Mum bought her 6230 compared too when I got mine. If you want a phone that has heaps of good quality fun features at a good price then this is the phone for you & it has so flip opening which I can't stand.

My 6230 phone has not lived up to usual standard that should be expected from the market leader Nokia. I have felt rather disappointed by the quality of this phone. I like the overall look, design & style of this mobile phone & the features were enough to attract me to this model of mobile phone. I was wanting a good quality camera & video mobile phone but the camera is not up to high standard as the still pictures are rather blurred & unclear. The camera is not as good as I thought it would be & a flash is needed on the camera feature as I am unable to take pictures in duller conditions. The main keys are ok to use but I had a problems in the beginning trying to use the menu button which caused me to become frustrated. I am able to work the menu button very well now but it took some time before I learnt how to use it correctly. Ok phone but the camera needs to be better & the menu button is too fiddly.
