Best phone I had. Used it for two years & didn't have a problem with it until my niece dropped it down the toilet & it didn't switch back on again after that.

I've had my 6111 for a couple of years now & have never had a problem with it switching itself on & off. The only thing which has broken is the cover over the hole for the charger but it still sits in there OK providing you are careful. Do sometimes have a problem putting contacts on the SIM card or transferring them from phone to SIM but as I have another Sagem phone I simply transfer the SIM to that & put them on then put it back in the 6111. Photo quality is quite reasonable & easy to transfer to PC with Bluetooth. I am quite fond of this phone but mainly use it as a spare phone now.

I got this phone not so long ago, & after about a week of having it, it kept turning itself of but the key pad still worked, now it doesn't work at all, my advice is don't by this phone its rubbish I could only store 3 songs & the camera is terrible. I have switched back to my very very old Motorola v980 the design isn't as good but at least it keeps on & has lots of space.

Don't ever buy this phone, it is the worst ever, it was too expensive for what it has & it breaks so easy. Nokia should give me my money back cause it broke on the first year, & I took good care of it.

Jemo, get the w580i, it is £99.95, & it is really good!

I don't know what that is in dollars though. It is a really really brilliant phone much better than the Nokia 6111 & the Samsung i560!

I got this phone outright in April or May 2006 & I am still using it. Battery life is great, lasts about 1 week, & I use it heaps! Camera is average, I am impressed with the flash though. The only gripe I have with it is NO MEMORY CARD! Grrrr. It's so annoying. It's still working fine, just getting a bit old. I find that it is slightly thick, but this is personal taste.

I personally wouldn't buy it again, I only wanted one because my aunty got one, & I was only young. I think that for the price, there are many better featured phones out there for a lot less money!

I am now looking at replacing it with the Samsung i560. I've considered a few other phones, but leaning more towards the i560. Could people please give me recommendations under about $500 AUD & pluses & minuses about the Samsung i560?

Cheers.

Well I had this phone for 1 year & I am just sick of it, the most songs I have had on it has been 8! Rubbish! So I have upgraded to the w580i, which is absolutely brilliant & I have got 42 songs on it & loads of photos & things! So take my advice, it isn't a good phone & it was a waste of £80 that I spent out of my money! Also the picture quality was awful & the screen was very easy to scratch! SO don't BUY THIS PHONE! Get the w580i.

This phone is possibly the worst phone I ever had the misfortune to own! I had it just over 6 months & in the beginning it was brilliant but after a few months it started freezing & turning itself off & even after removing the battery it still wouldn't turn back on for several hours, the camera is rubbish too & the battery needed charging pretty much every night, also the charger only works when it feels like it, & sometimes when plugged in the phone would overheat & stop charging after just 5minutes of being plugged in! Absolute rubbish!

I had this phone in late 2005 & it still works good.

MEMORY, it's got a 23MB memory, no SD Card slot, so that's a bother, & you need some files on your phone that you can't delete, so you'd start out with 21MB, its good!
CAMERA, the 1 megapixel camera is great, but it has flaws, the video capture option has 3 modes in quality.
High at 176x144 about 70 kpbs is 38 Minutes Recording.
Meduim at 176x144 about 60kpbs is 45 Minutes Recording .
Low at 128x96 about 52kbps is 55 Minutes Recording.

The video camera has 6x zoom which is really nice for a phone. The photo capture is really nice as well, it comes in a few modes.

NOTE FORMAT 3GP At 15FPS

High Quality Mode
1152x864 about 100 pictures.
640x480 about 320 pictures.
320x240 about 1250 pictures.
160x120 about 2400 pictures.

Normal Quality Mode
1152x864 about 160 pictures.
640x480 about 500 pictures.
320x240 about 2050 pictures.
160x120 about 5600 pictures.

Basic Quality Mode
1152x864 about 200 pictures.
640x480 about 650 pictures.
320x240 about 2500 pictures.
160x120 about 5700 pictures.

This also has 6x zoom, flash. The features are good, alarm, converter, all that lot, & it also comes with games, but I deleted them, you can record audio as well. So, this is a great phone, but it is know for fine dust to get trapped in the screen.

This phone is rubbish! I just got it for Christmas & I really want a new one already. I can't get hardly any songs on it & I am GUTTED now I know you can't use a memory card in it. The pictures are okay, but really fuzzy when you put them onto the computer, the zoom & size is good though. The Bluetooth is okay but sometimes when I am putting songs from my computer onto my phone using Bluetooth it says its disconnected when it's not. The sound is okay, & I like the design although it's a bit bulky. Sometimes I come home from school & it freezes & I have to take the battery out to reset it again. The lock plays up & I have to turn it off & on again to fix it. I am so disappointed & it annoys me. It's a really bad phone. I wish I saw these reviews before I asked for it for Xmas! Never mind, I hope I get a new one soon. PS. DO NOT BUY IT. I PROMISE YOU. IT IS SO BAD!

Had my 6111 for 3 years on O2 payg. Cracked the screen after only 3 months because it was too handy to keep in my pocket & I sat on it! Resolved from then, on to be very careful not to drop it or knock it. As it is so small I kept it on a lanyard around my neck but more recently have a small belt case for it. Only problem was today when the display locked out showing only the time & a key symbol on the display & I could not even turn the phone off. I found out where the battery was & removed & replaced which reset the phone back to normal operation. Not bad for 3 years use. OK, the keys are small, memory is small, camera is only 1MP but as a phone with Bluetooth, radio & other features in such a small package, it's great! Go for it, but be careful just because of its size.

I had & loved this phone for over a year. For those of you who seem to think it breaking is a reflection on what the user does with it, unfortunately & others get the dud phones.

Mine was working perfectly for ten or eleven months & then gradually the freezing & the turning off started.

I am just disappointed that Nokia don't seem to be making phones to last anymore, it's all about making sure it breaks, so you'll have to buy a new model in a year's time.

Read so many bad reports about this phone such as battery life, screens going off etc. But I took a chance & got one on an 18 month contract. So 18 months on & have got used to the battery problem, just don't leave your Bluetooth on all the time. It lasts for about 3 days but takes only an hour or less to fully charge. The size & style are 100%, small, palm size & although some reports say it's a bit plastic on the slide, you will be surprised how strong it is. Navigation, like any Nokia is just so easy. OK the camera isn't fantastic, but then it is a phone! I am due for an upgrade now & only doing so as I have managed to erase some of the keys with my finger nails (but that's only been in the last couple of months) & also my contracts due up. So I am taking the chance on another Nokia (5300) very similar in design but slightly upgraded. Hope I will be as happy with it as I have been with my 6111.

I had this phone for ages & there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It never shut down on its own, the battery life was long & I had loads of videos, songs & photos on there. I had the Cath Kidston one & it was such a lovely phone. I have just bought another Nokia because I think they are the simplest to use & I have never had any issues with my Nokia 6111.

If you want a cute little phone which is really simple to use get this one.

To all you people moaning that the camera isn't great, yeah OK but if you want fantastic photos why aren't you using a digital camera? This tiny phone obviously isn't going to have great picture quality is it? For its size & price I thought the pictures were great & I took loads!

Otherwise I have really enjoyed the phone, but sadly Nokia seem to have let themselves down with this one.

I had a Nokia 6111 frosted pink mobile for my birthday & now most of my friends are a bit jealous. It's the fashion for the season, or maybe for the year. T mobile offered me a lot of offers for the first 10 to 30 days to explore my new phone & realized that it was hard to figure out at first. Finally, after a lot of help by reading the booklet, it was easy. It not only had Bluetooth but had infra-red too! It had the web so I could do school work at home instead of the library & it only costs £1 a day! It was the best phone I had. I will always put my trust in T mobile & Nokia's as they can never let you down!

This phone is rubbish. I have had it for about 16 months & I have had to take it into the shop twice to be repaired. It has a habit of switching itself off (in particular after a missed call), its pot luck whether it wants to be charged up (maybe there is a loose connection in the battery charger), the key pad buttons are very small, I get texts in halves I.e. The end arrives about half an hour later & the graphics are rubbish compared to my old Samsung D600. This will teach me for going for a cute colour. I have been stuck with it because I am on an 18 month contract (never again) & can't wait to get rid of it. I am totally put off Nokia phones. RUBBISH!

Took it back to the shop to be repaired & now I have it back, I still have the same problems. It is now being repaired for a second time & its only 8 months old. The salesman in the shop told me Nokia won't replace.

When I took it back to the shop the second time there was another customer returning their Nokia 6111 for the same reasons! I will NEVER buy another Nokia product.

I really like it! I have had it for about 4 months & although it has turned itself off & back on again during a call 3 or 4 times that's really all that's wrong with it. The camera could be better, but serves its purpose & the memory & battery life more than adequate. It's never really let me down & looks really nice. It's really easy to use & everything is accessible.

The camera may not be the best & removing the battery may take a bit more effort than you're used to but it is a good little phone.

I think it is an awful phone. I thought it looked good, so I bought it after then it was endless trouble. The screen kept freezing, it went white, it turned itself half way through almost every text message.

The Carphone Warehouse gave me a new one. Had the same problem. Then another two followed & I got bored. I now have a Sony Ericsson v30i that hasn't missed a single beat.

I've had this phone now for 3 years & the only troubles I've had is that it keeps turning it's self off every so often. It really doesn't bother me that much. I've had two as the one I bought first died while I was still in the shop so got a replacement straight away.

Yes I have dropped it a few times but since I picked up a hard plastic case for it nothing has broken or cracked in the screen. I've found also that giving the battery a brush with a clean paint brush helps keep it clean & the points working fine.

I know when the contract I have on this phone is up I'll be buying a new phone as I find this one really doesn't offer what I need any longer, but overall it's been a great little phone.

I do love the 6111 but I have got bored of it now. I know where everything is on there like the back of my hand. If you go down to the reviews lower down in June you will see my reviews there.

For PEOPLE OUT THERE THIS PHONE IS GOOD BUT MAYBE AS IT'S NEAR TO 2008 ITS TIME TO GET A HIGHER CLASS PHONE. THANKS FOR looking.

What do you people do with your phones! I've had mine for almost a couple of years now with no problem. If you bash the keys like a monkey, & chuck it around. It will break! To those who say it won't fit in their pockets. Well I have to assume you're wearing hot pants, because it fits nicely in the pockets of my jeans & slacks. It's not going to have a massive memory for music & photos because it's an older phone from the days when phones were used as phones & iPods were for music.

Finally, got round to replacing it now, but only because I fancy a change from Nokia.

I hate Nokia so much right now! Having put up with the poor battery life, having to delete pictures & messages all the time due to the very poor memory, it has now utterly broken & I have lost all my data from the calendar (as it refused to sync with the PC, quite common apparently) all my phone numbers & worse all the cute pictures & videos of my kids, including ones from when they were just hours old.

Really in a dilemma now as to what to buy instead. I have always had Nokia's as they're easy to use, but not sure now after reading some of the reviews of other phones. Any recommendations? Cheers, Lisa.

I got my Nokia 6111 pink in December last year. Overall it is quite a nice little phone, although I will agree with the fact that it is a bit bulky. For a while it decided that it would freeze & turn itself on & off a lot. I sent it in to be repaired & they just upgraded the software on it. I also found that the battery was a bit loose in the back, so I have to have a bit of paper in with it to keep it tight against the connectors. I've had three chargers since I got it, because they kept breaking even though I've never dropped them or anything!

On top that it really doesn't have enough memory on it. The most songs I've ever managed to have on there is 3 & you can't even buy memory cards for it. One of my friends has the Cath Kidson version & has never mentioned any problems with it.

OK so now I've written all the problems with it down, there seems a few too many to bother with, but it's cheaper now & would be OK if you're stuck for any other options, but I probably wouldn't have got it had I have known all that about it!

On the down side, it does have a tendency to turn itself off now & again, while I am in the middle of a call mostly, which is slightly annoying. But I have found the battery life on it very good (bearing in mind I don't use the music features much), but I have found that my charger stopped working with it, so I now have to use my husband's phone charger.

Got mine in January 2007 & until now it's still in a good condition. Though I must admit I am having some difficulties with it. The phone turns off when I slide it open or close sometimes, especially when you forcefully do it. Memory is a rubbish! What's the sense of having the music player if you've only got 23MB? They did not even include a slot for the mmc. 1MP is enough for this phone, & I like the landscape mode because it looks much like a digital camera. Design is very awesome! One reason why I bought this phone. Although at first, I had regrets in buying this phone, now I am somewhat satisfied & used with it. I think I am going to maximize the use of this phone first before changing another one. I am planning to get a 6120 classic, or 5700, 6500 slide, 7500 prism or a Samsung E840. :D

I have tried my sim card in various different phones & it works fine, but 2-3 times a day it comes up with a message saying 'Start up phone without Sim Card? I've had this phone about a year now, it started off all well & good. Well apart from the rubbish memory of course. But now it's a completely different story. I've not had the best of luck with phones but this has to be the worst.

Yes, the phone turns off for no apparent reason.

Yes, it's hard to remove the battery - I only knew you could remove the battery when I dropped it & the back fell off to reveal the elusive battery.

Yes, the message centre sometimes goes missing so you have to restart the phone just to send a text.

Plus, the phone has a tendency not to let you receive messages every now & again. I hadn't received a text for a couple of days, thought it was a bit odd & was dismayed at my apparent unpopularity, until I restarted my phone & received a fair few messages that had been sent days ago. This has happened about four times now.

Time to get a new phone.

This phone is so awful, I strongly recommend that NO-ONE buy it! Me & my sister brought this phone in January this year & by April, the screen on both our screens would freeze or the phone would just switch off automatically. Also by June I was having problems with the charger as sometimes it would charge, other times it wouldn't.

But it gets worse, as by September my charger has stopped working totally & it won't even charge up on my sister's one which makes it basically un-useable. But there's NO WAY that I am shelling out for a new charger so I am just going to save the stress & get a new phone, so is my sister.

Also one of the reasons I brought the phone was for its MP3 player, but that was basically a joke as it was very complicating to even attempt to get up & running & because my PC did not have the right features, I was told that I'd have to buy a special cable to get it to work which I think is wrong because of the steep price I paid for the phone in the first place. I'll repeat what I said, please, please no-one buy it, it was a complete waste of money & I must admit I've lost a bit of faith in Nokia phones.

I got this phone more than a year ago, at the time I loved it at the time.

DESIGN: the design is very nice, which was the main reason why I bought it. I have it in pink & I think it's a nice looking phone.

FEATURES: the downside to this phone is that it has very little memory & has no memory card slot! What is the point of there being a music player on the phone if you can only put a maximum of 4 or 5 songs on it? However, if you are not looking for a music phone, then I would say this phone is quite good.

USABILITY: This phone is pretty easy to use (like most Nokia's are). I have a problem with it sometimes (& my friend has this problem too), sometimes when you are sending a text message, it freezes & then just turns off. It's annoying & I find that it takes very long to load & open pictures & text messages (especially when you have a lot).

I bought this phone when it was first been released. It was a good phone at the time, but now its features don't hold up to much. When I used to the camera for the first time I was quite pleased because I had only ever had the typical VGA camera on my previous phone, so to me the camera seemed good. So if you're upgrading from a VGA camera you can see the difference.

The battery life doesn't last as long as the Sony Ericsson's, but as long as you can fully charge ever other day it is fine, the phones screen is quick to get scratches too, but taking care of your phone or buying a case can probably cure this.

The multimedia side of the phone is OK, only the lack of a memory card slot is the bad point. Otherwise the music player is loud & noticeable. The video player is good, but very similar to other phones in its range. All in all the Nokia 6111 is smart & very fashionable phone, with a slinky slide design. It's just not too good on performance without a charger nearby.
