I have got to say this wee phone has been my favourite out of all my phones over the years, it's easy to use, looks lovely, I had the pink one, nice & girly. I am stunned when reading everyone else's reviews on it. I had it for nearly 2 years & it never gave me a bit of bother. Really cannot fault it. By far my favourite phone so far & I've had 2 phones since it too!

Okay, Okay, so it's not the best phone around. BIG DEAL. I know that it sometimes turns itself off, & the memory isn't amazing, but if you have an iPod & MP3 player it doesn't really matter. It doesn't have many features, but what it does have is fine. I have had the phone for like 1 year & I am replacing it soon but it has been great with making calls & texting. I have no problems communicating with it. & the charger stuff is nonsense, mine works perfectly fine. My point is if you don't like the phone then you don't like it, but if you're looking for a reliable, steady phone that will make calls & texts efficiently, then this is the phone for you. Xx.

If I could rate this phone lower I would. It is so bad I have had it for 1.5 years & I am seriously bugged I keep trying to break it. I even flushed it down the loo. So if you want to flush your money away do so on buying this phone.

I have had this phone since Xmas 2006 & REALLY want a new one! I had to get a new charger because it kept cutting out but the one I have now still does the same. The memory is rubbish & I hardly have any songs on it (which is annoying as I am 11). The camera will do but it is only 1MP which isn't great. I think that the design is OK but too bulky for me. I also lost my phone for about 4 months & found it yesterday. I wish I hadn't found it.

Overall if you are looking for a phone just to get you by this one would be great but if you are like me & want good features & a flashy design steer clear from this one!

Rubbish. Not enough memory, horrible grainy photos, & a consistent problem with turning itself off, fading whatever is on my screen & the other day it even turned my display upside down! Charger is rubbish too, if I wanted to buy another one, it would be my 6th in 2 years. However, after weeks of the phone refusing to turn on for hours, it has appeared to have totally given up. Just rubbish, a total waste of money.

This phone seems amazing, looks great etc, until you start using it & find it turns itself off every few minutes. If you slide the screen it turns itself off, if you pick up the phone when it rings it turns itself off, mid conversation!

It is awful! It also is hard to turn on! Don't BUY IT!

I thought that this phone was good when I got it. 9 months later & some of my files won't open my pictures are corrupted & going from having 700 pictures left to only being able to take 30! Music player takes up too much memory, it may look cute at first but scratches easily, do not buy this excuse for a phone & the folders take ages to open & photos are always bad quality.

This phone seems cute at first but it won't be long till you want to throw it at the wall. The camera pictures are grainy & blurred & you constantly find yourself deleting your pictures due to lack of memory. The most annoying point is the screen freezing, it becomes more frequent & eventually refuses to stay on for longer than 20 seconds, that's if the flimsy screen hasn't broken before then.

I have a Nokia 6300 with the skinny charger & have the same problem with it actually being able to charge the phone. It's obviously a problem with all Nokia phones that need to be charged with the skinny chargers. I have had to buy 5 replacement chargers in 2 years, the quality is terrible. & before you are thinking, ahh she must be a clumsy so & so. I have asked about 20 people & they all have experienced the same problems.

It's a shame because I love Nokia's but they are obviously losing their touch. Avoid!

I have had this phone for about a year know & when I saw it I couldn't wait to get it without reading reviews.

I then lost it & got a Samsung D600 I think it was the best phone I ever had then I dropped it whilst riding my horse along the road : (.

Then I found my pink 6111 & I have been using it for about a month now since my old one. I hate it, it's the worst phone I have had the memory is rubbish I can fit 3 songs 5 photos & 1 video on mine & when I paired up to my friend over Bluetooth everything completely went all my songs photos & video's it hasn't turned off on me yet but let's just say it's not the best.

OK, so I brought my 6111 sometime last year & I have absolutely grown to hate it! I brought it because I thought it looked really cute & small, nice design, & apparently had a good memory.

Well after about 4 months a crack had already came onto the screen, & the silver paint on the square around the menu button has gone all rusty & worn off.

At first I found the phone really easy to use, but after a bit it started to freeze & reset itself, especially when writing texts. It just went bright white & turned itself off & back on again.

Signal has recently become really low, & phone won't receive texts until I have plugged the charger in.

Memory is rubbish. I can only store 4 songs, 8 videos & 30ish pictures.

Now I am looking for some new phone, maybe a better Nokia :P.

I've had my 6111 for a couple of years now & have never had a problem with it switching itself on & off. The only thing which has broken is the cover over the hole for the charger but it still sits in there OK providing you are careful. Do sometimes have a problem putting contacts on the SIM card or transferring them from phone to SIM but as I have another Sagem phone I simply transfer the SIM to that & put them on then put it back in the 6111. Photo quality is quite reasonable & easy to transfer to PC with Bluetooth. I am quite fond of this phone but mainly use it as a spare phone now.

I don't know what that is in dollars though. It is a really really brilliant phone much better than the Nokia 6111 & the Samsung i560!

I got this phone outright in April or May 2006 & I am still using it. Battery life is great, lasts about 1 week, & I use it heaps! Camera is average, I am impressed with the flash though. The only gripe I have with it is NO MEMORY CARD! Grrrr. It's so annoying. It's still working fine, just getting a bit old. I find that it is slightly thick, but this is personal taste.

I personally wouldn't buy it again, I only wanted one because my aunty got one, & I was only young. I think that for the price, there are many better featured phones out there for a lot less money!

I am now looking at replacing it with the Samsung i560. I've considered a few other phones, but leaning more towards the i560. Could people please give me recommendations under about $500 AUD & pluses & minuses about the Samsung i560?

Cheers.

Well I had this phone for 1 year & I am just sick of it, the most songs I have had on it has been 8! Rubbish! So I have upgraded to the w580i, which is absolutely brilliant & I have got 42 songs on it & loads of photos & things! So take my advice, it isn't a good phone & it was a waste of £80 that I spent out of my money! Also the picture quality was awful & the screen was very easy to scratch! SO don't BUY THIS PHONE! Get the w580i.

I had it just over 6 months & in the beginning it was brilliant but after a few months it started freezing & turning itself off & even after removing the battery it still wouldn't turn back on for several hours, the camera is rubbish too & the battery needed charging pretty much every night, also the charger only works when it feels like it, & sometimes when plugged in the phone would overheat & stop charging after just 5minutes of being plugged in! I had this phone in late 2005 & it still works good.

MEMORY, it's got a 23MB memory, no SD Card slot, so that's a bother, & you need some files on your phone that you can't delete, so you'd start out with 21MB, its good!
CAMERA, the 1 megapixel camera is great, but it has flaws, the video capture option has 3 modes in quality.
High at 176x144 about 70 kpbs is 38 Minutes Recording.
Meduim at 176x144 about 60kpbs is 45 Minutes Recording .
Low at 128x96 about 52kbps is 55 Minutes Recording.

The video camera has 6x zoom which is really nice for a phone. The photo capture is really nice as well, it comes in a few modes.

NOTE FORMAT 3GP At 15FPS

This phone is rubbish! I just got it for Christmas & I really want a new one already. I can't get hardly any songs on it & I am GUTTED now I know you can't use a memory card in it. The pictures are okay, but really fuzzy when you put them onto the computer, the zoom & size is good though. The Bluetooth is okay but sometimes when I am putting songs from my computer onto my phone using Bluetooth it says its disconnected when it's not. The sound is okay, & I like the design although it's a bit bulky. Sometimes I come home from school & it freezes & I have to take the battery out to reset it again. The lock plays up & I have to turn it off & on again to fix it. I am so disappointed & it annoys me. It's a really bad phone. I wish I saw these reviews before I asked for it for Xmas! Never mind, I hope I get a new one soon. PS. DO NOT BUY IT. I PROMISE YOU. IT IS SO BAD!

Had my 6111 for 3 years on O2 payg. Cracked the screen after only 3 months because it was too handy to keep in my pocket & I sat on it! Resolved from then, on to be very careful not to drop it or knock it. As it is so small I kept it on a lanyard around my neck but more recently have a small belt case for it. Only problem was today when the display locked out showing only the time & a key symbol on the display & I could not even turn the phone off. I found out where the battery was & removed & replaced which reset the phone back to normal operation. Not bad for 3 years use. OK, the keys are small, memory is small, camera is only 1MP but as a phone with Bluetooth, radio & other features in such a small package, it's great! Go for it, but be careful just because of its size.

This phone is very nice looking & has some nice features. It doesn't have hardly any memory. I could only store about 2 to 3 songs! & it also doesn't have a memory card slot. I now have stopped using it & am hoping to be getting a Nokia 6500. I think the design & features are cool, but the memory is useless.

I had & loved this phone for over a year. For those of you who seem to think it breaking is a reflection on what the user does with it, unfortunately & others get the dud phones.

Mine was working perfectly for ten or eleven months & then gradually the freezing & the turning off started.

I am just disappointed that Nokia don't seem to be making phones to last anymore, it's all about making sure it breaks, so you'll have to buy a new model in a year's time.

Read so many bad reports about this phone such as battery life, screens going off etc. But I took a chance & got one on an 18 month contract. So 18 months on & have got used to the battery problem, just don't leave your Bluetooth on all the time. It lasts for about 3 days but takes only an hour or less to fully charge. The size & style are 100%, small, palm size & although some reports say it's a bit plastic on the slide, you will be surprised how strong it is. Navigation, like any Nokia is just so easy. OK the camera isn't fantastic, but then it is a phone! I am due for an upgrade now & only doing so as I have managed to erase some of the keys with my finger nails (but that's only been in the last couple of months) & also my contracts due up. So I am taking the chance on another Nokia (5300) very similar in design but slightly upgraded. Hope I will be as happy with it as I have been with my 6111.

I had this phone for ages & there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It never shut down on its own, the battery life was long & I had loads of videos, songs & photos on there. I had the Cath Kidston one & it was such a lovely phone. I have just bought another Nokia because I think they are the simplest to use & I have never had any issues with my Nokia 6111.

If you want a cute little phone which is really simple to use get this one.

To all you people moaning that the camera isn't great, yeah OK but if you want fantastic photos why aren't you using a digital camera? This tiny phone obviously isn't going to have great picture quality is it? For its size & price I thought the pictures were great & I took loads!

I had a Nokia 6111 frosted pink mobile for my birthday & now most of my friends are a bit jealous. It's the fashion for the season, or maybe for the year. T mobile offered me a lot of offers for the first 10 to 30 days to explore my new phone & realized that it was hard to figure out at first. Finally, after a lot of help by reading the booklet, it was easy. It not only had Bluetooth but had infra-red too! It had the web so I could do school work at home instead of the library & it only costs £1 a day! It was the best phone I had. The end arrives about half an hour later & the graphics are rubbish compared to my old Samsung D600. This will teach me for going for a cute colour. Took it back to the shop to be repaired & now I have it back, I still have the same problems. It is now being repaired for a second time & its only 8 months old. I've had this phone now for 3 years & the only troubles I've had is that it keeps turning it's self off every so often. It really doesn't bother me that much. I've had two as the one I bought first died while I was still in the shop so got a replacement straight away.

Yes I have dropped it a few times but since I picked up a hard plastic case for it nothing has broken or cracked in the screen. I've found also that giving the battery a brush with a clean paint brush helps keep it clean & the points working fine.

I know when the contract I have on this phone is up I'll be buying a new phone as I find this one really doesn't offer what I need any longer, but overall it's been a great little phone.

To those who say it won't fit in their pockets. Well I have to assume you're wearing hot pants, because it fits nicely in the pockets of my jeans & slacks. It's not going to have a massive memory for music & photos because it's an older phone from the days when phones were used as phones & iPods were for music.

Finally, got round to replacing it now, but only because I fancy a change from Nokia.

I got my Nokia 6111 pink in December last year. Overall it is quite a nice little phone, although I will agree with the fact that it is a bit bulky. For a while it decided that it would freeze & turn itself on & off a lot. I sent it in to be repaired & they just upgraded the software on it. I also found that the battery was a bit loose in the back, so I have to have a bit of paper in with it to keep it tight against the connectors. I've had three chargers since I got it, because they kept breaking even though I've never dropped them or anything!

On top that it really doesn't have enough memory on it. The most songs I've ever managed to have on there is 3 & you can't even buy memory cards for it. One of my friends has the Cath Kidson version & has never mentioned any problems with it.

OK so now I've written all the problems with it down, there seems a few too many to bother with, but it's cheaper now & would be OK if you're stuck for any other options, but I probably wouldn't have got it had I have known all that about it!

On the down side, it does have a tendency to turn itself off now & again, while I am in the middle of a call mostly, which is slightly annoying. But I have found the battery life on it very good (bearing in mind I don't use the music features much), but I have found that my charger stopped working with it, so I now have to use my husband's phone charger.

Worst phone ever! It has been in for repair, returned to me not working. Returned phone again & told that I had misused it. Therefore, I have to pay for new phone.

I have always had Nokia, but would now never ever buy Nokia again.

Faults: Phone turns off, messages get stuck in out box, switches off whilst texting & drops calls.

I have to say this compact design was what made me buy it, & the pink & silver colour is very nice. The features are brilliant & I was very pleased with them BUT I have had a few problems with sending text messages, even if I have a good signal & quite often in the middle of texting, it starts deleting itself.

It's a shame about the memory as there is no memory card but other than that, I believe it's a good phone! :).

Got mine in January 2007 & until now it's still in a good condition. Though I must admit I am having some difficulties with it. The phone turns off when I slide it open or close sometimes, especially when you forcefully do it. Memory is a rubbish! What's the sense of having the music player if you've only got 23MB? They did not even include a slot for the mmc. 1MP is enough for this phone, & I like the landscape mode because it looks much like a digital camera. Design is very awesome! One reason why I bought this phone. Although at first, I had regrets in buying this phone, now I am somewhat satisfied & used with it. I think I am going to maximize the use of this phone first before changing another one. I am planning to get a 6120 classic, or 5700, 6500 slide, 7500 prism or a Samsung E840. :D

I got this phone just after last Christmas. The back cover which keeps the battery in is now slowly falling to bits, as in the small pieces which hold the cover on are breaking off one by one. I now have the problem that it can't read sim cards. I have tried my sim card in various different phones & it works fine, but 2-3 times a day it comes up with a message saying 'Start up phone without Sim Card? ' even though the phone is already on & the sim card is obviously in. Everything else I have found OK but I am eager to switch to a Motorola or Sony Ericsson for my next phone, Nokia's never seem to work out for me.

I've had this phone about a year now, it started off all well & good. Well apart from the rubbish memory of course. But now it's a completely different story. I've not had the best of luck with phones but this has to be the worst.

Yes, the phone turns off for no apparent reason.

Yes, it's hard to remove the battery - I only knew you could remove the battery when I dropped it & the back fell off to reveal the elusive battery.

Yes, the message centre sometimes goes missing so you have to restart the phone just to send a text.

Plus, the phone has a tendency not to let you receive messages every now & again. I hadn't received a text for a couple of days, thought it was a bit odd & was dismayed at my apparent unpopularity, until I restarted my phone & received a fair few messages that had been sent days ago. This has happened about four times now.

Time to get a new phone.

This phone is so awful, I strongly recommend that NO-ONE buy it! Me & my sister brought this phone in January this year & by April, the screen on both our screens would freeze or the phone would just switch off automatically. Also by June I was having problems with the charger as sometimes it would charge, other times it wouldn't.

But it gets worse, as by September my charger has stopped working totally & it won't even charge up on my sister's one which makes it basically un-useable. But there's NO WAY that I am shelling out for a new charger so I am just going to save the stress & get a new phone, so is my sister.

Also one of the reasons I brought the phone was for its MP3 player, but that was basically a joke as it was very complicating to even attempt to get up & running & because my PC did not have the right features, I was told that I'd have to buy a special cable to get it to work which I think is wrong because of the steep price I paid for the phone in the first place. I'll repeat what I said, please, please no-one buy it, it was a complete waste of money & I must admit I've lost a bit of faith in Nokia phones.

I got this phone more than a year ago, at the time I loved it at the time.

DESIGN: the design is very nice, which was the main reason why I bought it. I have it in pink & I think it's a nice looking phone.

FEATURES: the downside to this phone is that it has very little memory & has no memory card slot! What is the point of there being a music player on the phone if you can only put a maximum of 4 or 5 songs on it? However, if you are not looking for a music phone, then I would say this phone is quite good.

USABILITY: This phone is pretty easy to use (like most Nokia's are). I have a problem with it sometimes (& my friend has this problem too), sometimes when you are sending a text message, it freezes & then just turns off. It's annoying & I find that it takes very long to load & open pictures & text messages (especially when you have a lot).

I bought this phone when it was first been released. It was a good phone at the time, but now its features don't hold up to much. When I used to the camera for the first time I was quite pleased because I had only ever had the typical VGA camera on my previous phone, so to me the camera seemed good. So if you're upgrading from a VGA camera you can see the difference.

The battery life doesn't last as long as the Sony Ericsson's, but as long as you can fully charge ever other day it is fine, the phones screen is quick to get scratches too, but taking care of your phone or buying a case can probably cure this.

The multimedia side of the phone is OK, only the lack of a memory card slot is the bad point. Otherwise the music player is loud & noticeable. The video player is good, but very similar to other phones in its range. All in all the Nokia 6111 is smart & very fashionable phone, with a slinky slide design. It's just not too good on performance without a charger nearby.

As soon as I got it, the screen starting switching itself off by itself, & I couldn't understand why. Then, after a year, it stopped, but then it broke, when I was in Finland. It would not turn on at all. I had to send it in to get it repaired, & then 7 months later, my phone has just broke again, from falling out of my pocket onto the gravel. This is a very annoying phone, & even though it looks good, the memory is absolutely terrible & I could only upload 2 MP3 songs!

I am hoping to switch to Samsung.

Good overall phone, if you are rough with this phone, of course it will break. I am due an upgrade in a few months time, & I have had this phone for well over 8 months & it hasn't broken at all. It got a minute scratch on the back & a few small scratches on the screen which you can't see when the phone is on.

I don't like the way that the keys have a loud sound when you press them. I have this phone on charge every night, & it has a good battery length. So if you moan about your phone having no battery - Keep you're charger with you whenever you're on the move. All in all, depending how long you keep using it for, the battery will 'Battery Full'.

Another thing about this phone is that the loudspeaker is a bit tinny, as well as when you are on the phone, the volume cannot get as loud as you want it to be, it's always annoying when you have to ask someone to repeat something for you on the phone.

The flash is a bit bright & doesn't work that well over night time, it just leaves you're face in a pitch of whiteness & you can't help squinting as it's SO BRIGHT. I also think the reason it's like this is because it's only a 1mpxl camera & so therefore the video quality isn't good either. But I can take good pictures with this phone - Keep a steady hand :).

I have had this phone for around 5 months & usually phones last me a very long time, but unfortunately though - as it is good for a user who just wants a simple phone.

Camera - One of the first things I hated about the phone is how bad the camera is - the quality is pretty awful & the picture nearly always comes out blurry.

White Screen/Charging - When I first read reviews about the phone - I couldn't understand why people were saying the screen often turned white & switched itself off - but now I can. This often happens, usually half-way through when I am writing a text message which is very annoying. Also-my phone rarely wants to charge anymore (even though I have tried many chargers)

Memory - Memory of this phone is pretty bad too - I can only save a couple of songs & a few pictures or vice versa - although the message memory seems to be brilliant! I rarely have to delete a message, so perhaps that's the reason.

All in all, I was quite disappointed with this phone - although I wouldn't say it's the worst phone in the world, I would only recommend this to users who like very basic phones.

I have had this phone for about 10 months. I would not recommend this to anybody. When you slide it upwards the screen goes white, leaving only the battery sign there. It has been happening for so long now that my phone permanently stays down because when it's slid upwards the screen stays white all the time meaning I cannot text anybody, save any numbers or dial anything. I can now only make & receive calls & nothing else.

The sound quality is really bad. It's got to a point where I cannot be on the bus or be out down the road while being on the phone because I can barely hear anybody. It also makes this ringing noise when on the phone to someone like there's something loose inside of it.

The battery life is terrible. It doesn't last a day sometimes. When texting, the message will delete on it's own without me even pressing any buttons. It also doesn't charge properly. At first I thought it was the charger so I bought a new one. Only to find that it wasn't because the new one didn't work either.

Finally, the picture quality is fuzzy, you can barely see a clear photo. This is not even mentioning the video feature that is very poor quality.

I've always used Nokia's but this phone has put me off them for life. I am currently waiting on my upgrade to a Sony Ericsson W580i which I have read good things about. So far! My luck, I'll get it & the next day, I'll start reading really bad things about it & begin to experience difficulties.

ANYBODY OUT THERE thinking OF BUYING the Nokia 6111 PHONE. PLEASE DON'T. IT'S BEEN TROUBLE FROM the DAY I TOOK IT OUT OF the BOX & THAT'S NOT EVEN AN EXAGGERATION.

I have experienced similar problems to most people: the screen going white leaving only the battery sign at the top, phone switching itself off at any given moment, problems when charging etc.

When sending texts, if I made a mistake & tried to correct it, the whole message would be deleted before my eyes. I thought it was maybe a button I was pressing but I see now that other people have this problem too. HOWEVER, if you press the 'right' button (the right side of the silver square in the middle of the phone) this seems to stop the problem.

I've had the phone 6 months. Very early on the sliding mechanism broke. Now it is in bits at the repair shop because it won't charge.

I liked this phone for its size & its slide action, still do. But I always used to have the rubbery 5140 phones which were far more robust & practical than this. This phone is too flimsy & delicate for real life. Plus, things keep going wrong.

I love this phone & people I know who have this phone love this phone. I read these reviews prior to getting my 6111 & was apprehensive to say the least. However, I have had mine for a year now & have been upgraded to an LG Shine. I haven't received this phone yet though think I will be disappointed as the Nokia is full of the features I use. It is easy to use & does have good memory, I have a 1000 messages & loads of photos on my phone & it hasn't asked me to free memory space yet! Its a matter of personal choice but I'd recommend it!

- fantastic design
- lots of talk time

Disadvantages:
- doesn't have a great camera
- not a lot of memory

Worst phone ever made. What a sham to call this a phone in the first place. Biggest pile of rubbish I have ever owned. I have always bought Nokia until I had this one & couldn't wait to send it back. Speaker was that low I couldn't hear the other person on the end of my phone calls. Battery overheated when radio was on for more than a few minutes. Memory was awful. I sent is back & had a d500 instead. Then upgrade 12 months later to an e900 now that's what I call two great phones. Take my advice & NEVER EVER BUY A Nokia 6111. Go for Samsung or Sony Ericsson instead they know how to make a good phone unlike Nokia.

It didn't let me talk on the phone, sort of blocked any sounds from my end, I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me. It kept shutting out. I had to buy 3 new chargers, because I couldn't get it to charge. The screen broke twice & then yesterday, the screen broke all together & went white. I bought this phone last October (2006) like all the girls I thought I looked great with the pink colour, do not let this colour fool you!

The screen cuts out many times on me, whilst using it! There is not enough room for any music, the most I am able to have on is 3 songs!

It won't charge, I had to sit for 15 mins twisting the cable this & that way until it finally started charging, & do not knock it otherwise it will take another 15 mins to find it again.

I was really excited about this phone however now I am looking to find another one. I rang my branch up to ask for help & they just told me to spend £25 for a standard Nokia whilst they found the problem with the one I have. How can they find the problem when it turns itself off at stupid times.

I would not recommend this phone to anyone. If you get a phone that works that would be great but I do not.

I waited for so long to get this phone & when I got it as a gift I was delighted! However, after being returned for 'repairs' 5 times (once it was even replaced) I have finally gotten a new model as a replacement. The phone constantly froze, or deleted text messages as I was writing them. I have since learnt from 3 different sources (all working in the mobile phone area) that seemingly this is the worst phone ever released by Nokia, & that particularly the pink one causes problems. There seems to be a 'ghost' (as one man said) in the phones that Nokia cannot fix. I loved my phone but eventually got too frustrated by having to have it repaired so many times (in only 6 months).

Now it isn't an issue any more because 'No voice tags saved' & the volume screen kept popping up & you have to turn the phone off & turn it on again to get it to work & it happens all over again. I wouldn't advise anyone to get this phone. It looks nice & it is nice & compact but everyone I have spoken to about them has had issues with them. They should either learn how to make them without faults or else just stop making them. Designing a nice flowery cover doesn't take away from the fact that it won't last more than a few months. Grr!

This phone is brutal, don't buy it. It's the worst phone I have ever had, & I am now having an argument with O2 about it.

I got it in December; two months later it started turning itself off every few minutes. They replaced it for me, & know 2 months later, I am having the exact same problem. It's not a problem with the battery because it turns itself back on within a few seconds, right back into the main menu.

I can't make or receive calls because of this.

I also can't send text messages because apparently it has a tendency to disconnect itself from its message centre.

While I was in the phone shop today, then girl beside me was there with her broken pink 6111 & there was a lady queuing behind with her faulty one too.

Do not buy this phone. It should be recalled.

The camera is excellent but the video is not so good. Some people will have different experiences with this phone so you shouldn't make a decision just on reviews, what I would say is, go to your local phone, store, carphone warehouse etc. Or your provider's store O2, Orange etc. & feel the phone for yourself, you can't make up your mind by just looking at pictures & reading reviews.

This is as low as a phone can get. Got one for my missus a year ago, & was wishing I hadn't not long after. Serious issue with the memory space, or rather, the lack of it. A phone billed as an MP3 phone should have at least 100MB, or an expandable memory slot. This phone however, has neither. My mate was given one free by his sister, &, within a week it had been lobbed out of a window. To think, the missus went to this phone from a Samsung D500, & that was a bad mistake. This is the phone responsible for putting me off Nokia phones. Siemens took 3 dodgy phones to put me off them.

I loved my Nokia 6111 & I thought the design was brilliant, but lately I have had trouble with it. Etc. It keeps freezing, will randomly turn off. It gets stuck when I try & slide it up.

Need I say more. This phone is rubbish! Waste of money. I have only had this phone for 3 months.

The charge lasts 1 day only for me & the memory is shocking. What's the point of having an MP3 player on it when I can only store up to 3 songs.

Bad phone. X x

Reading a Few of the Comments Below, I am pleased to think I am not the Only Person Having Trouble with My Phone.

I have had Two '6111's In 5 Months. Why I Got the Same After the First 1 Broke I don't Know! But My Latest One Has Started To Become Gritty When You Slide It Open. It's got bad Memory, It Turns off Randomly & I Need to Take the Battery out & Re Insert It for It to Turn on As well As Not Charging Properly As well As Loads More Things Too. But All Of Then Are All Ready What Other People Have Commented On!

Really Gorgeous Phone Visually but I Would recommends It At All. There's Better Phones Out There!

This phone looks flashy but I've had nothing but trouble with it! Its battery only lasts for around a day from being fully charged - which is nothing compared to my old brick of a 3310, which used to last over three days. Each photo, video & message takes ages to 'load' & I've had trouble with Bluetooth. The manufacturers have also stupidly put the charge point under an awkward bit of plastic at the top & I need tweezers to lift it up so I can slot in the charger. I have had a lot of trouble with the alarm clock with it going off at random times or not going off when I've set it to.

I bought this phone because it looked pretty sleek & it had a load of really good features like Bluetooth etc. For the price (£89.99 from Orange), it didn't seem bad. But its endless set of faults due go to show that looks aren't everything. I'd give anything to get my old 3310 back again.

Quite like the design of this phone, but that's about it to be honest! I had my 6111 for 8 months & didn't really have any problems with it! But it is now dead! It went through the wash in my jacket pocket! I have replaced it with a Sony W810i, so glad my Nokia has drowned! The W810i is so so so much better!

Well in my life I have been through a fair few phones like the:

- Motorola V3
- Nokia 7260
- Sony Ericsson Z600
- Nokia 3315
- Sharp GX17
- LG C1100

& a few more I have bought all of these phones myself & I am only 12 turning 13. Well I am buying this phone off eBay & I have never had a slide phone before so I am looking forward to the features & the sleek design.

I hope the camera is good because I am sick of VGA cameras so this megapixle camera should be good as well as the MP3 feature.

This is a good designed phone, it looks good & feels good.

It has some good features, but the memory is rubbish on it, it is also not very durable. Battery life is not too bad, mine lasts between 2 & 3 days. Camera & video on it are pretty good!

Only major problem is that when writing a text, it starts to delete itself, or the phone freezes & the screen goes white & powers out, touch wood this doesn't happen often. Overall, if you don't use your phone for music & pictures it's a pretty good phone.

However I gave it some thought & returned it to the shop & had a brand new one as replacement. Guess what? Having had the second one just 4weeks & with even more software problems than before I finally had a refund. What a shame they can't get it right it's a nice looking phone but not a patch on Samsung!

At first I thought the Nokia 6111 was great! Bt I see it's not only me having problems with my phone. When you are in the middle of writing an msg it randomly turns white & switches off. I not impressed with it as it has froze at least 15 times when I have been looking at images, playing java games on it & when I am writing msgs. The memory is very bad but I can fit about 200 images & 10 songs on it (the shortened songs).Bt I can't even fit 3 normal length songs onto it. Also beside the keys there is a silver background & when I slide open my phone the silver comes off so I am left with white scrapes. I wouldn't buy this phone again if I had the opportunity (I think!)

This phone looks stylish & sleek & is easy to use but it has one MAJOR downfall! It freezes when you are trying to send texts. It happens so frequently its getting ridiculous. It's particularly annoying if you are sending a lengthy text.

WHAT HAPPENS: as your are typing in your text the screen freezes. Fades out. Screen goes white & the phone switches itself off! You can normally switch it back on again with no problems but you have already lost all of your text! There is no real reason for this happening. It's happened to me when the phone is fully charged or on its last legs. It is obviously a design fault because I know at least two other people who have this phone & have the same problem.

For this reason I would advise anyone NOT to purchase this phone. It may look good but this has put me off!

Within a week of owning this phone, it started freezing whilst I was writing texts - the screen would go white & then slowly the phone would power itself off. I could then turn the phone back on straight away with no problems but of course had lost the text I was writing. This was with full battery powers. SO FRUSTRATING & happens randomly. Also the keypad is so small & shiny that the keys are very difficult to use - a nightmare if you have big fingers!

Whatever you do DO NOT buy this phone it is shocking it really is. Has the worst memory ever, can store 2 songs & that is it & not many pics. Battery lasts about 2 days at the most. After 6 mths mine broke. Id switch it on & the screen just stayed blank, so had to get it sent off. 4 mths on it has done this another 2 times, is sooooo annoying. The phone also takes ages to load up when you switch it on & sometimes you have to press the buttons several times before it will let you view a message, is very slow, & sometimes it will freeze whilst loading it up. Several of my friends also have this phone & they too have experienced problems. Am very disappointed with Nokia, previous phones from them have been great & very reliable, this phone is the worst ever, don't waste your money.

I love this phone! It's unique. Interesting look, nice menu, BRILLIANT car game on there. I had it as a pressie for Xmas. I have the Cath Kidson version which is nice '&' girlie.

Gotta agree with the memory problem. Silly Nokia not giving it an SD slot, but to be honest MP3 players are for that & if you just want to call/text/take pictures you're sorted.

I love the flash so I can take pics at night. Couldn't do that before. I like the slide design & I just hope I don't have any problems with it like I've read! It sure have a guarantee so if there are any problems I'll take it back to the shop/sell it online.

Go for it if you're not bothered about memory size it's a nice little phone!

Would also like to add that sending a message is really cool because you do it like an email. Type in the number header first.

It gives you the option to type it yourself/go to recently used number/or into contacts. It's great & the screen is colourful & bright. When you have typed your message it has a chunky send/exit button on screen & I don't know why I like it. Guess it's quirky.

I would recommend getting a case for it! Then scratches aren't a problem are they?

This is a shocking phone. I promised myself last time that when it was time for an upgrade I'd not bother with a Nokia, basically because they haven't don't a lot with design or features for a while, I can't be the only one to think all they do is keep releasing the same phone inside with a slightly different design.

I chose it because I wanted something different to the standard block type phone Nokia do, because now they seem to have gone back to making bricks!

It crashes all the time which hasn't been sorted out by two new phones & several software updates. I'd think I was just unlucky but my last Nokia did the same, freezing then slowly turning the screen white before turning off. PLUS Nokia don't turn on always when you press the on button - even 15 times. I remember when I had an 8310 - one of the first phones with a blue screen & probably one of the smallest made I can think of. If Nokia made a modern version of that with decent features like Sony put on their phones then I reckon it'd be amazing. The phone scratches like mad, was more or less wrecked within a few weeks, that's before it went near any keys LOL.

I am ditching Nokia for someone else, sick of all the lazy designs & dodgy faults, they don't deserve the asking price when there are so many good models out there. STRONGLY advice looking for a different phone, I think this thing was just knocked out in a hurry to compete with the Samsung sliders.

Camera appalling, battery life rubbish, & you need to use loudspeaker anywhere remotely busy to hear anyone on the phone. JUNK!

It's a nice little phone & even if the memory is low, hay it's only a phone, if you want loads of memory then get an MP3 player. But I love this phone & I will never change it until it goes wrong, nice cover changes as well, I have the pink one, but so want the black covers, if anyone wants to change let me know, please, will pay P&P

I got the 6111 about 8 months ago, & was Absolutely devastated by the amount of memory, 24 MB. Its stupid, why say the phone has a MP3 Player on it when you can only fit 4 songs on it, & I think it was stupid that Nokia never made a SD slot for it, so I sold the Nokia about 6 months ago, & got a LG U880, it is the best phone I have ever seen in my life, please consider buying one, they are fantastic.

I've had my pink 6111 for quite a few months now. I have dropped it & it still works. Got it wet, still works. No problems ever with it switching itself off. Find the text very easy to use with no problems. I don't tend to save many songs on it as I use it as a phone not an MP3 player, so can't comment on the memory. But, I have downloaded a few songs & games. So, all in all, I love this phone & recommend it totally.

I have had 3 & they have all broken in exactly the same way but the network I have my contract with won't give me a different one! The screen turns off & freezes & you get lines all across the screen. If it happens to one then its bad luck but I have had 3 do it! Think Nokia might have a bit of a design fault in this phone!

I've had this phone twelve months. Actually I lie-this is my third in that time, & I can't wait to get rid of it. When it works it's a great little phone. I flung it & dropped it loads of times, & like all the other nokias I've had, it's been fine. Each of the phones I've had has real issues with sound quality. After a few months, or even weeks, everyone you speak too sounds like they're whispering in a toilet!

I got the Nokia 6111 for my birthday on Tuesday, I fell in love with its look instantly, I was stood there for about 15mins with the sales man at the shop choosing between the pink or black version, in the end I got the pink as on the black one you would be able to see all smears etc.

Well my only moans is the memory space... it says it has 23Mb of memory, but I worked out that some of that is taken up even before you first switch on your phone because everything on there takes up memory. I only have one mp3 3 photos & 1 video & it complains of no memory space practically all the time.

I am miffed though because you know it says no expandable memory... well look behind the battery & you'll see a silver panel bit... I bet bottom dollar that you'd have to pay money to get an expandable memory card put in there.

But I think the day I bought my phone is an omen... I bought it on Friday the 13th LOL I only had one major concern so far & that was today, it turned itself off & when I turned it back on it said something about no sim card recognised.

But it is a sleek phone in all... Shame that Nokia have let us down though on the memory part.

It also switches its self off ALOT & if you open the door with too much force again it switches off!!!! I've had this phone since July got it on contract (thank god I didn't pay for it)& I've sent it back to the manufacturer twice now, & each time they've had it for a month, they were supposedly upgrading it but it's still the same USELESS. I was attracted to this phone when I heard about it. However, after about 3 months I dropped the phone once, the phone broke in the sliding & the ribbon rip. It's a very fragile phone. I tired to get it fix but they did not have the items to fix it, a month later, I went back & they said they can fix it now. I spent a lot to get it fix. Then the phone keeps turning on & off frequently. In less than a month, the flash turned on & won't turn off so I had to spend money again to take out the flash, which means I cannot use it ever again. Then a few days after, I had troubles hearing other people & other people couldn't hear me, after that, it just didn't work at all. I have to use either speaker or head set every time I talk with other people. This phone is definitely the worst phone ever.

I previously had the very chique looking Nokia 6111. The Novelty wore off when I discovered the pathetic 20 megabyte music memory. On the X factor I couldn't help but get aggravated as the phone was specifically being advertised as & mp3 player. Yeha right! My other mp3 player has 250 megs starting range. I wasn't impressed & as I like good quality mp3's there was no chance I would have been able to fit an album on the phone. It's very small, sleek, but it was too small for my hands, I'm a tall lady & playing games gave me sore wrist & numb fingers because the button pads were tiny.

A really pity for Nokia, as the phone looks fabulous & the camera & video were really great. Folk today need storage on their phones & Nokia 6111 doesn't meet the criteria especially considering the memory isn't expandable. What were they thinking? Oh hang on, they weren't thinking, that's the issue here. I bought my phone over the internet from 02 & my 28 days return date had passed & 02 were unhelpful & unsympathetic. In the end, I sold the Nokia 6111 to Cash Converters & bought a Sony Ericsson instead which is a fabulous phone

My sympathies to folk who wasted precious money on an overrated phone. You would get more space on a floppy disk!

I bought this phone through my mobile supplier at the beginning of the year. I was pleased with it when I bought it, but now have a problem with it - keeps turning itself on & off, the buttons have actually sunk so it is difficult to hit the keys & the slider keeps getting stuck. Screen tends to get scratched very easily. I have sent mine back to the supplier that I received it from, this was about 2 weeks ago & have heard nothing since. A colleague I work with also has the same phone, hers, her flash switched itself on & wouldn't go off, had to be sent back to her supplier also. She was told by her supplier that they had received a lot of complaints about this particular phone.

Bought this phone quite simply because it is small, light & cute & sweet looking in pink. I have had the phone a few months & I haven't had any of the problems that others have experienced. I know a couple of people that don't like the way it works but I find it rather easy for what I wanted it for (mostly calls & texts). If you want a phone packed with features it's not the one for you. 1million pixel camera I think but there is such a huge difference when compared with a 2million pixel. Not 3g etc. I have now upgraded to a phone that has more features but I will be sad to see it go, in fact I might keep it as a spare. The menus are different to the older nokias but still easy to use. The pink does sometimes look all silver in certain lights though & because of this I regretted not getting the black one. Petty I know but when I first saw it I liked the black, the pink & didn't like the silver. It doesn't have as much character.

I wanted this phone from the time I first saw piccies of it. I didn't buy one initially due to the awful reliability problems they had in the beginning. Plus I want a n80 but wasn't sure about the slide phone thing - I prefer clamshells. So far I've had a few days & I admit I am really impressed!!! Features are plentiful for this type of phone. Easy to use & as per usual for Nokias you are given lots of options to customise the phone.

Overall - I have one BIG gripe with it... When I am using the number keys the phone has an awful creaking & groaning noise coming from the casing which gives an impression of bad build quality. This isn't so when the phone is all slid together but makes txt'ing a little annoying. But I am very happy with it as my second phone & I now like the style of the slide phones - but still prefer clam-shells :-)

A great phone, perhaps the door to the charger socket is a bit flimsy. Main problem is the lack of good instruction in how to access all of the features, image sequencing remains a mystery to me. Being able to enlarge the font size is very useful, however it only works in Contact & Text Mode, some of the menu options are therefore difficult to read. The menu layout within texting is a little illogical, insert a word is a commonly used feature yet it is at the lower half of the scroll. Customising feature is very useful. Camera resolution could be better. It is in the main a well designed & sturdy phone with a good many features that I will never need. When will a phone be designed that is primarily a communication device.
