I have had this phone for about a year & in that year I have had the phone ring way to loud & right now its way to soft. I can't hear the other person talking unless I use hands-free which I don't like using around people.
It has low battery life & a rubbish camera which comes up grainy when it's not in full sunlight. Edit pictures are alright. It would be cool if we could download our own for free.
Design is alright & so are the features, like 3D snake game. It's hard to text message when your in a hurry because I have trouble pressing the top 3 buttons & it bugs me heaps & it is quiet BIG to put it your pocket.
So yes.

This phone started out as a wonderful product but after using for 13 months I must state that this phone has all the glow without the go. I have had four phones in this time & each phone has been dogged with the same problem I.e. You receive a call & answer, the person on the line cannot hear you clearly & you can hear them as if they were next to you. The sound issues on this phone are totally unacceptable, but I must add I will give Nokia another chance with the 6210 I will let you know if the quality is better. The reason I want this phone is the spec meets all my needs, but if the next one does not shape up I will bin Nokia for good.

The worst phone I have ever owned. Returned it 4 times. All software issues, Bluetooth not working, sound issues, gps takes hours to find satellites, keys on right hand side of phone working. Quality control zero.

I have been using this phone for more than a year now & I think this is the best phone I have ever had! Affordable with usable GPS. I never get lost anymore with this phone! This is the cheapest GPS & phone you can get. (Who says locking into the GPS takes a long time? Just keep your phone under the sky, do not try to get a signal in a building, or under a roof, & you will get a signal within 10 to 15 minutes with your A-GPS off, with that it should be faster, but it cost money to have A-GPS on, so I never have it on.)
Springy slider gives endless fun playing with it.
Camera is OK. Keypad is a little small but you will get used to it.
The phone is quite user friendly only thing I would really like to change is the GPS button in the middle. I don't use the preinstalled GPS software so that button is basically useless & somehow that button is always miss pressed when trying to hit down.
Overall, I think I will continue using this phone for another few years, until it totally give way. Thinking of changing its cover now too so that it can look brand new again. This is just how good the phone is!

A very good phone! Only have a few complaints.
- GPS takes much too long to acquire a signal, sometimes hours!
- My Right select button & Cancel button have stopped working
- the speaker makes a weird clicking sound occasionally.
Other than that it is a brilliant phone, very well put together! Plus it survived a 3 story fall :).

I am not happy with this phone. I hardly had this phone for 10 days since I purchased & it started giving me problems similar to what Cules from Kroonstad, South Africa, has reported in this forum.
I can hear the other person talking but they can't hear me. This phone has been to the Service centre 5 times & still has the same problem. Really fed up with it!
I had large expectations from Nokia but was disappointed with the camera's quality. The pictures appear grainy & I feel there is no match to a Sony Ericsson mobile's camera.
Why can't they stop selling such RUBBISH which can snatch their customers away from them?

The best phone I have owned so far, had it just over 6 months so far, but then again I try never to spend too much on something I am to rough with LOL, got it on the Virgin $30 month $140 included calls & phone repayments. Love the features, would have given it a 95% due to not having Wi-Fi, but the camera is poorer than my work 6233, very grainy especially in poor light, they both have a 2 mega pixel camera so I do not know where they went wrong. Buttons are a little small for a text addict, especially the top numbers, I have fat thumbs so it doesn't help. I don't have many problems with Navigator button, main problem I have is hitting the end key when playing games with the arrow button. Longer battery life would be better, but wiser use & not forgetting games or other apps are still running in the background helps, holding down the menu button & checking now & then helps. I also found a few apps (including rubbish games) that failed caused the OS to play up & need rebooting, this caused problems that might take days to show up, like the phone vibrates once with no sound & locks up until battery removed GPS is harder to use than a dedicated GPS, but it is awesome compared to a Sensis based GPS, Port Hedland area crashes my GPS using 4th Quarter 2006 maps (but I don't blame it, Port Hedland is where the world would get the enema tube if needed). I recommend getting a plan with data included, makes the GPS faster, but normally not much worse than a Tomtom etc if you don't use the GSM side of it. Recommend downloading Eriadne as it is free & great for mapping trips if allow it Internet access often. I also think the default browser is terrible, download Opera Mini, much faster & doesn't have the viewing or access problems the default browser has, this is also free. Speakers were awesome until too much metal shavings got into them, not its fault, happens with most phones I have had when working on the tool, just this has bigger speakers with bigger magnets of course. Would buy the next upgraded model if battery life was longer, keys in a better position, better camera & a few little minor things which is easy to get over.

Great Phone I think, Have a Car charger & used the GPS on an Eight Hour run from Adelaide to Melbourne, great work never failed. If running applications, it will chew the battery, I.e. Log for calls always on, contacts always on.
To check, simply hold down menu key until display shows up telling you what's running, (phone shop guy told me this one), then shut down everything that's not needed.
Have dropped my phone a number of times, but she comes out trumps, have never hit sat nav key by accident but the keypad could be bigger.

Very nice phone. I switched to it mainly because of GPS which is very useful & works good. Phone design is nice, it's not too big & feels good in hand. Has some very small downsides like navigator button too easy to press sometimes. Battery lasts 2 to 3 days which is OK for such a phone. I do recommend it.

I traded in my Nokia 6500 for the 6110. I wanted a phone which had great storage, wasn't too bulky & most importantly good battery life. This phone doesn't seem to disappoint. The only negative is that the phone begins to heat up especially while playing games or using it for a longtime.

This is the BEST phone I have ever had. The GPS is really useful & takes about a minute to lock on. Although you can use the GSM network to lock on faster it is not a requirement. You can be in the middle of nowhere & GPS will still work.
The speaker & microphone quality are excellent & this phone's speakers are so loud they will blow away many chunky portable speakers. Games work great on this phone with no technical issues on any of the many programs I have installed. The battery last several hours but if you want more just buy more batteries, they cost about $10 each on eBay including postage. The only thing missing is the have out that the N95 has, other than that this phone is feature packed. This is an outstanding phone for the price.

My boyfriend gave me this phone as he did not want an upgrade. I chose the white phone as everyone chooses black. Right from the start, I have been hugely impressed by this phone. After owning 2 Samsung phones before this, I am happy to be rid of the touch screen buttons.
I have not come across any of the problems stated by others. I believe the phone is stylish & well worth owning. The camera is not as good as the one on my last mobile but this is not a major problem as I rarely use these features.
The GPS found the position after a maximum of 5 minutes when at my home, however this was more when I had little signal, but then again what can you expect. It is hard to complain about this too much when the application is free.
I am due for an upgrade in September when my boyfriend wishes to have the 6110 & then I get a new phone. But to be honest, I think I will be devastated to let this little bundle of magnificence go!
Buy it! You don't know what you're missing if you don't!

I like this phone. I bought it because it has the GPS capability & can therefore fill in as a handy 1 to 50, 000 Ordnance Survey capable GPS (using the excellent ViewRanger software which I bought).
As a phone, it's fine, I don't use it much as a phone but it doesn't generally let me down when I do & the sound quality is fine. In terms of design, I would prefer a slightly larger screen & more of a flip so that the buttons can also be bigger, but I guess there are good reasons why that isn't so. Also, the Navigator button is a nuisance, I keep hitting it by mistake, & I haven't found a way to prevent it starting the Navigator software (I would prefer to assign it to ViewRanger given the chance).
In terms of usability, it's no iPhone in terms of its interface but I can use it well enough. Oftentimes things are buried deep in menus & the interface isn't entirely consistent but overall it's fine.
The supplied Navigator software works well enough, I used it for a cross country drive & it didn't miss a beat, though it MUST be connected to the car charger if you want its battery to last on a longer trip. The software could do with the ability to tell it to avoid certain places (e.g. Big cities at rush hour) but otherwise it is absolutely fine for occasional SatNav duties.
My biggest gripe about the phone would have to be the short battery life. It's a pity that the GPS drains the battery so much, though I've yet to determine whether the majority of that drain is due to the always-on, bright screen of the Navigator software or the GPS system itself. ViewRanger, being a mapping solution, should use less power as the screen doesn't stay bright all the time, but as I've only just received that software a week back I've yet to use it in anger to find out just how much of a difference that makes.
Overall, if you are the kind of person who just has to have the entire UK covered at 1 to 50, 000 OS quality & want it integrated into a proper GPS, this phone is the way to go.

Had the phone for about 5 months now & I love the Sat Nav. It does take a while to lock on but not that long.
Battery life spoils this phone only a couple of days & that's if you don't use it.
I have had no problems with switch offs etc.
When my contract runs out I am planning on keeping this phone & renewing SIM only.
It is far too easy to accidentally press the Sat Nav or Internet buttons, but apart front that I cannot fault it.

Today, my Nokia died, died in a big way. It froze when replying to a text message, then switched itself off, & I haven't been able to switch it on since.
I took the SIM card out & tried it in a prepaid Samsung I have as a spare, & that worked, so NOT a SIM compatibility issue. Thinking the battery was dead, I recharged it, charged fine, but still, won't switch on to the Nokia Welcome Screen.
I decided to take the SIM back out, & try to switch it on in Offline Mode, which worked fine, saw my wallpaper, my existing SMS messages, all my phone contacts, so I turned it off, put the SIM back in, & back to square one.
I have to agree with the fact that the phone is unreliable with its constant self switching off, & the Navigator key, is in the WORST spot imaginable.

This phone was purchased for the Sat Nav function. The phone performs well as a phone, haven't had any problems like some other reviewers.
The camera is OK, the pictures appear grainy although I haven't printed any out, music player is OK no problems.
As said at the start I got it for the added feature of Sat Nav. I had checked out some discussion groups about getting speed camera files added, it was messy but apparently could be done. Unfortunately other format file into one that the phone will read. You have an option to download the camera files from the Route66 site, these are more expensive & have a lot less coverage than the market leader.
Other Smartphone's not using Symbian version 7 will work. Hope this helps.

All the features I wanted in a phone, but none of them work quite as well as hoped.
GPS & Satnav are good but too slow to lock on & abysmal battery performance (not a problem in the car although heated screens slow the lock down even more). The GPS is not suitable for a 2 hour walk, I am looking for a solar or windup charger.
I also tried Google maps, this uses cell references first for instant positioning, then switches to the GPS when it gets a fix for an accurate position. The maps are downloaded as required & you can search points of interest. Viewranger is essential in the UK to provide grid references to use with paper maps, I have the 1:50000 maps installed & this worked well.
The Camera is OK but not as good as other smartphones, I have gone back to using a camera & ignoring the one on the phone. My wife's Sony Eriksson is much better for resolution, colour, shake, low light, flash & movement.
My main gripe is the total loss of sound at random, I end up with a GPS which cannot make or receive calls either through the headset, speaker or Bluetooth. This does not seem to be a common problem but others have the same fault & Nokia have not released a fix yet.

This phone is excellent. Features are excellent. There maybe some problems, like when somebody calls me, in some sentences, I can't hear properly what he is saying. But further there's no problem at all. & the 2.0 megapixel camera captures high quality photos. & then, there's the GPS. What a brilliant piece of art.
What can I say? Nokia phones is the best. If the Nokia 6110 navigator is so great, think of all the other Nokia phones. Like the N95 & N73 & N93. If you want to buy a phone, the Nokia 6110 navigator is the one for you!

I was very pleased with this phone when I got it. Now I am not particularly pleased & may well go back to my old phone.
My biggest gripes are,
- It's too easy to press the navigation button by mistake when aiming for the down arrow.
- Sometimes it takes just an awfully long time to figure out current location with the GPS.
- Battery life is just awful & I don't use the phone a lot, a very small number of incoming & outgoing calls, it's mainly on standby but I have to charge it again every couple of days or so & it doesn't die gracefully, once the charge bars start dropping it goes pretty quickly, my old phone lasts much longer.
I guess the phone is nice if someone wants the sat nav a lot or something like that but I think I am going back to my old phone with much better battery life & better resolution camera.

I am highly recommending this phone for everyone who prefers practical & multifunctional but not glamorous mobile gadgets. You can solve problems with some countries map covering, using free Nokia Maps or trial SmartCom Navigator & GPS software, compatible with Navigator 6110 too. & of course you can expand Smartphone basic functionality with almost any Java or Symbian 9.x compatible (sis) add on's using native Nokia PC Suite software. Features estimated by me as 95% because there is no Wi-Fi service. Usability at the factory default settings is absolutely perfect, but after uploading some system software (not GPS related) it becomes worse a little.

Nokia 6110 Weak GPS Poor Phone Sound Quality. I just purchased this phone 2 days ago. What a disappointment! Many great features, but the one cherry feature I bought this model for was the GPS which is poor, much too weak ability to capture a signal.
The main problem however is that I use my mobile phone primarily to make calls & the sound quality is very poor. This was a surprise as my previous Nokia's (5100, 6100, 6120) had good sound & after these models I had turned to 2 models from Sony, where the sound was so poor that I decided to return to Nokia. Little did I expect that the new Nokia models also now feature phone quality that makes the person you are talking to sound hollow, garbles the sound & creates a lot of noise.
Even secret codes to improve quality to Full EFR improve the situation somewhat, but the quality is still poor.

My partner & I recently bought two Nokia 6110 navigators from Strathfield Communications (Australia). We chose Nokia because every Nokia phone we have owned has been outstandingly designed & very user friendly. The 6110 Navigator must be the exception. The features are great, but that's about it. In a word, UNIMPRESSED.
GPS, the Australian maps are quite concise & offer good directions, but be careful of the A GPS. The first two bills, on an AU$49 cap plan came in at AU$120 170 due to the phone accessing the Internet. Disabling the A GPS function didn't seem to make any difference & we ended up asking Optus to disconnect all Internet services to the phones to stop the excessive WAP charges. At times the GPS refuses to respond (see below).
Music Player, OK but the sound quality is pathetic without a headset.
Camera is adequate, just not great resolution or picture quality & a poorly designed & fiddly to open lens cover.
Case or Cover is possibly the worst designed Nokia ever. Clumsy & tightly packed keypad. If you have chunky fingers, forget this phone. No variety of colours (really who cares). Fiddly & difficult to remove the cover (you need to pull until you feel like it's about to break).
Last but certainly most important is the constant (every couple of days at least & a dozen times a day at worst) locking, freezing, crashing & exceptionally slow response. Many inbuilt applications will freeze, lock or crash for no apparent reason, sometimes to the extent that the only way to fix the problem is to remove the battery while the phone is still on (even the keypad locks up sometimes). A few times when the phone has locked up I left it just to see if it would begin to respond again of its own accord, over 12 hours & nothing. For me these things may be major inconveniences but for someone relying on their phone for business this could be disastrous. I have removed all my music, pictures & documents thinking that I had loaded too much into the SD card. No better. As I type this I am running a software update (4th time) & if there is no improvement it goes back to the dealer tomorrow (so no phone for two to six weeks). There is obviously software, possibly hardware problems & I would chalk it up to a single dodgy or faulty unit but we bought two identical phones on the same network & plan & both have the same problems & after researching web reviews we aren't the only ones with these problems.
All up I may have rated this phone 50 to 60% but as a Nokia who normally make the best phones available this is a poor effort at best.

Best phone I have ever had, but not really had that many. GPS did work all though it took several minutes to locate position. However now back at repair shop for second time as GPS not working & also when trying to use radio the phone would freeze & would have to remove battery to reset. Hopefully they can fix as the sound was excellent when it did work.

Great phone, don't be put off by the users having problems as I've had none at all. Defective units will cause problems, it's not Nokia's fault that couriers throw the parcels around. GPS locks on after 10 or so seconds if used regularly.
Those whining about battery life when using GPS, get a car charger! Even my Tomtom One only lasts 2 hours when running on battery.
If you set the backlight to dim between navigation instructions then you will get 10 or more hours of navigation (the backlight is what eats the battery).

This is my second phone, the first was replaced due to signal problem. I have tried this phone & it's awesome, the GPS & the speaker for radio & MP3 playback are loud & clear. Full of features & the download speed is very fast.
The download side I noticed is that the MP3 sound quality playback from headphone is not very pleasant but the radio through the headphone is very good & comparable to those compact radio sold by branded brand.
Overall it's a very nice & full of features phone & I got the white colour as black is very finger print unfriendly. Would really recommend this phone for anyone who wants to get one.

What a great phone, or so I thought! I had a palm 750v prior to this Nokia which was great, but I decided to opt for a more conventional phone this time, the 6110 seemed the best on offer & with some help & advice from the retailer it was a done deal. Now I must say that I had read some reviews on this site that mentioned crashing & locking but thought little of it as there were more good reviews than negative ones.
Three days after taking the phone home, have not even got my head round sat nav yet, a customer of mine phones me I try to answer, everything is frozen, next voicemail calls, the vibrating alert starts buzzing & does not stop buzzing! Can't do anything but remove the battery.
I am going back to the store today & to be fair will probably take another 6110 home just to give this great looking & potential great tool another go.

The best phone I've ever used. I have used some smart phones, N-Series. Smartphone's always amaze you with their capabilities but they tend to be slow.
This is nothing like any other Smartphone I've used, it is devilishly fast. Its features are really innovative. The navigator application is something that if you get used to it, you can't do without it. I now use it almost every day. It can even recognize your contacts as landmarks, just excellent.
The video camera is really good, the photo camera is adequate & one can enhance its pictures with free apps found on the web. I never thought I would be bonded with a phone that much. & it is a way better value-for-money solution than the N95 - although its design is not that attractive.
So far (I have been using it for 4 weeks) it has only one disadvantage, its battery only lasts 1-2 days if you are using Bluetooth & GPS & stuff - that is if you are taking full advantage of the phone.

Further to my review dated September 12th 2007, I am pleased to report as follows:
The replacement Nokia 6110 Navigator arrived TWO days later (no fault of the supplier who promised next day delivery, this was due to the courier driver who visited the wrong address the previous day) & was found to work well first time with none of the faults experienced with the first model.
16 Days on the phone works well but does take a bit of learning compared to previous models, Nokia have changed some of the input methods which in the fullness of time will become second nature.
As far as the speaking text message is concerned, it needs to be refined somewhat as it is difficult to hear & very garbled, no doubt the next generation will be much better, however personally I do not have a need for it & it is unlikely I will ever use it.
Summing up, yes it is a very good phone does everything you would wish it to do & more if you require the many features it has & also it is comfortable to handle.

I sell these & I have one myself. This is an awesome powerhouse of a handset & now, all of my family want one. My wife's business will be buying these for their delivery drivers too. With this, you don't need to buy a sat nav for your car as this does it for you. To avoid disappointment with the battery, buy a car charger as the battery doesn't last long when using the GPS.
I navigated from Edinburgh to the Scottish highlands with this & there was no loss of the GPS signal. FANTASTIC!

Great phone, except for 2 major problems, I have had 4 handsets sent to me in the last 2 weeks all with the same problems:
- It is very difficult to turn the alarm off in the morning, you have to press snooze about 17 times to get it to work & the same with the alarm stop button. Press it several times & it still doesn't stop! Yesterday I stopped the alarm & 30 minutes later when I turned the phone on, the alarm came on again. Most amusing but very annoying too!
- More serious. On loudspeaker, everyone complains that the audio is terrible, & every 25-30 seconds or so, they lose a few words & can't hear me & that when on loudspeaker my voice is very 'tinny'. Now I know I didn't have this problem with the N70 so why have Nokia taken a step back with the audio quality. It is a phone after all!
I am going to try one more handset & if this is the same, I am afraid that me & the 6110 will be parting company. Shame as it is potentially a good phone but my line of business dictates that I need a phone that can be used on loudspeaker where the caller can actually hear me!
anyone else had these problems? Vodafone don't seem to be helping other than assuming it's a fault with the handsets!

Problems with the GPS on Nokia 6110 Navigator.
Not got down to the cause of this, but I have been reading a few forums about this. I've just got the phone after upgrading from a N73. There's no sim yet for the 6110, but wanted to see if the GPS was working. I live in London, & after the first turn on the GPS took 6 hours to pick up a signal.
Yes, you'd be thinking 'did you find a clear patch of field?'. Well, in London, it's a little hard, but that would pointless, as I need it to navigate around London. After I saw I got a fix, I decided to come out of the application & try again. 15-20 minutes before it got a fix, & that's without moving the phone from the window.
Now my N73 had Tom Tom with a Bluetooth GPS thingy, which took 60 minutes first start up, & since then its' less than 3 seconds to establish a fix. So what could I be doing wrong with the Nokia 6110? Does it really need a sim for it to work better? Do I need to be living on a farm for it to work?

Received new Nokia 6110 Navigator & followed the enclosed instructions very carefully to achieve set up. This done I was very pleased with it until the very next Morning when I met a friend who said ''did you not get my calls? I phoned you four times''. On checking it was discovered that all calls were being diverted to voice mail, further checks confirmed the settings were correct. This discovery led to a call to the supplier who gave instructions to enter a special code which would clear the divert mode, on completion he would call me back straight away, no call was received, there must be a problem with the system he said. Further instructions followed, take out the battery, take out the sim card (with the phone still switched on) replace the battery without the sim card & now it will be OK. Reverse the procedure this time replacing the sim card & you will be working correctly, NOT SO! The phone switched itself off never to come back on, Ah! He said you have a flat battery, plug in the charger & see what happens, this done, a white screen appeared for a few seconds before it closed down for ever. They did say, ''There is a problem'' we will replace your phone with another as soon as possible.
Having been a Nokia user for many years I do find this experience somewhat disappointing but will make a final judgement on receipt of the replacement model.

An excellent phone that made a change from my Sony Ericsson, although it costs too much to get maps for the GPS. So in my opinion Nokia must review its prices as it costs a lot more overall than buying a satellite navigation system, which is a shame as it is a good system. This should enable more sales & a GPS system that almost everyone can afford.

Great Phone. Some niggling software issues (I think), looking forward to next version being released. I have had the problem where the person cannot hear me for the first 1 or 2 seconds of the call, the clicking when starting a recording, & Bluetooth sometimes loses connectivity with PC suite.
Overall the phone is very responsive, GPS is great, & sound quality is great. Regarding locking the keypad without moving the slider, if you press the power button (call release), when the slider is closed, it gives you the option to lock the keypad. Besides the small gripes mentioned I would definitely recommend this phone.

Very good phone. The high speed 3.5G Internet, where available, is very good on Vodafone. Lucky I am in London.
Using the sat nav is also good. But I once crossed over the Thames to the other side at a speed of 354km/h, according to the Route Information! It was cloudy & I was among tall City buildings.
The internal speakers are awesome. The only downside is that a fully charged battery last only over 1 1/2 hours with sat nav on.

I so like this phone but it just kept locking up on me. Had it for a week now & I am experiencing at least one crash a day, today I went to the shop & forgot my phone. The wife called & heard my phone ring so hung up. I got home & the phone is sat there buzzing saying I have a call but I cannot do anything with it, had to remove the battery.
The second day it had crashed during the night & I did not hear the alarm (whoops), late for work, phone is now back in the box & going back to the shop for a replacement. But I think the second one will do the same but we will see.
The phone it's self when working is great, great sound the screen & menus are a doddle to use. The satnav part is very user friendly although it takes time to lock on to the internal GPS. Tested it with the Bluetooth GPS that I have & works a treat & locks onto it right away. The camera is OK but delays on taking the picture, picture quality is OK. Buy one if you can

I bought this phone without actually playing with it in a shop & upgraded via Vodafone - I was originally going to get an N95 but they seemed woefully fragile so I was hoping that the 6110 Nav was going to be up to the job, well I was not let down :-). The build quality is excellent & the slider function feels nice & solid so no worries there. I had the symbian OS on my old Nokia 6680 & this was first gen & a pain so I was interested in the 3rd gen OS on the Nav & I have to say it is sooooo much better, being faster & so far no lockups no matter how much I try to confuse the phone this is a good working stable package.
The GPS is great but does have problems locking on to satellites at times, my car sat nav is instant but the 6110 Nav can take a while to get a lock but when you look at the size of the phone & GPS you can forgive this as there is a hell of a lot of electrics in this little package & it does the job well once keyed in to the sats.
If you are thinking of getting this phone then do it! It is great & one of the best Nokias & smartphones around, battery life seems to be perfect I have not had any issues with this - although I do not constantly use the Nav feature which will probably drain it but there will always be trade offs in what you put on a phone & how long the battery can supply all this gear, if you have it in a car & cradle to keep charged then it really is not an issue.
Any niggles? well only one really petty one, you can unlock the phone with the slider hidden which is great but you cannot re-lock the phone without opening the slider & then closing it again to lock it, as I say this is just a really petty niggle as you can download timed locking programs or just flick the slider open / close but I just wish I could have the option to re-lock it with the slide closed.
Cool phone, good sounds & very useful in today's world, oh & if you get it to read your text messages to you (handy in the car) then it is like having Steven Hawkins built into your phone, LOL.

Best 'smart phone' by a mile. The GPS is incredibly good for a phone & more than comparable to the best car systems. & yet you can walk with this in your pocket telling you where to go! More than adequate music player & camera for a phone with the all software & 3G capabilities you need. Handy size too. GPS drains the battery but this easy to overlook. GOLD!

After struggling to feel welcomed by a Sony Ericsson K750i for two years - & finally admitting it didn't want to know me - this phone reminds me why I've always owned Nokias in the past. It's sleek, easy to use, easy to read, well-designed - except for the top row of the keypad, cramped against the slide when it's open - the screen is gorgeous, the hands-free is sturdy & even resists the usual tangling - & the GPS is so accurate it's frightening. Have I just wasted two years of my life with the wrong brand?

I bought this phone for the GPS feature. I was amazed by the quality of the GPS & also the sound from the internal speakers which is better than the dedicated GPS units I already use in my car.
Only negative thing is that you will have to pay for the maps in order to get full functionality. That's why it will not be able to replace dedicated units, as you will have to buy a map for each region (mostly cities). Dedicated units have the whole European map included. Nevertheless, it functions very good.
I would not hesitate to use it as my only GPS when traveling in foreign cities in rental cars, although I will have to buy a 9.90 Euro map for each city, easily downloaded into the phone itself.
I will also use it for music, SMS, etc. I will highly recommend this unit, if you need a good GPS, but be prepared to pay for the maps. You will find more to choose from if you download via the phone instead of the included disc, & download is quick.

Brilliant. Until now I've never been interested in any 'smart phones' or phones that claim to be all in one camera, MP3, business/software phones (when in reality there is no phone in a compact size user friendly enough that even VAGUELY comes close to thinking; 'well throw your ipod & digital camera away').
I was set to happily progress to the basic & competent 6300 until my provider showed me the 6110 as a new release. I didn't take long to be swayed - It's larger but a good size & simple to use compared to other smart Nokia phones (& other brands).
The camera is excellent (although obviously not the best around) as is the media/music options as far as a phone goes (for me anyway). It is 3G capable which doesn't really matter to me, but it's there if I need it. Great screen size & display & sound quality too.
But wait. The most important feature - the GPS! - Absolute GOLD & very surprising! - I had my doubts, but it works as good or better than most of the expensive car GPS systems (& it can fall, roll about or slip down your seat & still won't get disoriented! ) & IT DOESN'T COST YOU A CENT TO USE! It's built in - all you will pay for is to download maps of the world for traveling (some you can get free on the software provided) this phone has a gimmick that is actually worth having, without making the phone too complicated to use.
Only downside for me is the keypad size for messaging & my previous dislike of slide phones/ movable parts, but this is only minor & YES THERE IS A CAR CHARGER! Same one I bought for my 6131 works.
Highly recommended & definitely streets when it gets released there!
