Nokia 6103 Review

The Nokia 6103 is a sophisticated & eye catching mobile phone which comes in a choice of red or black coloured casing & both colours bring out the phones truly stunning design. The phone comes with a flip opening mechanism which is very easy to operate & the 6103 comes complete with an external screen therefore the user can always see who is calling before they open the phone. The 6103 is marketed at the middle market mobile phone user but if this phone offers too much the user can always choose the Nokia 6060. The Nokia 6060 looks very similar in design to the 6103 but the 6060 is very basic with regard to the features incorporated.

The phone comes with an integrated VGA camera (640 x 480 pixels) which comes with a dedicated camera button that makes using the camera feature very user friendly. The camera comes with a picture mode option which allows the user to select from standard mode, portrait mode or night mode. The user can select a high, normal or basic quality photo image.

The 6103 comes complete with a integrated video recorder which is very user friendly & is great for capturing all of those special moments in action. The video player allows the user to play back those treasured recordings with ease & the player can play any recordings that have been sent to the Nokia 6103.

The sound quality is excellent & can be heard on the phones built in FM stereo radio which allows the user to tune into their favourite radio station whenever they desire. The phone comes with voice controlled commands which include voice dialling, voice recording & a handsfree speaker. The user can choice from MP3 tunes, MIDI ringtones or polyphonic ringtones for their ringing tones & alerts.

The messaging services provided include text messaging (SMS), multimedia messaging (MMS), instant messaging, email & Nokia Xpress audio messaging. The MMS service allows the user to send one message complete with a photo, sound recording & text all in one very easy to create & send message. The MMS message can be sent to any MMS compatible device.

The Nokia 6103 comes with great technology which includes Bluetooth®, USB with Pop-Port™, XHTML browser, EDGE & GPRS. The user can connect totally wirefree to any other Bluetooth® compatible device which offers the user much freedom.

The user can take part in a conference call with up to five contacts at any one time. The image identification feature allows the user to add an image to each contact in their phonebook therefore when the contact calls, the image will be displayed instead of simply displaying the contacts name & telephone number. The image identification feature brings a very personal & fun feel to the Nokia 6103 which the user will enjoy.

The phone has an easy to manage calendar which the user can keep updated & then will be alerted of any meeting or planned events. The phone comes with an alarm clock, notes feature, to do list, stopwatch & a countdown timer which are ready to use if the user desires.

Hey I kept mine in my purse & when I took it out the main screen on front cover was shot. No structural damage but they made me pay for it. Said it was not normal wear. I only had it for about 2 months. Now the new phone I have had for 3 & it was flying open & shut all the time. Then it just snapped I had 2 pieces of phone. Never dropped it. I use it to & from work. I work as a receptionist. You would think I was a construction worker. The phone is bad, no one buy it. The memory is a whole other problem. I am so upset, everyone that has issues needs to report it to Nokia. So it will be a known issue. That is what I am doing right now. I am tired of being ripped off. The phone was not super cheap & I expect something I spend money on last longer than just a few short months.

This phone has a weak constitution I have had the LCD screens break in three of them over the last 6 months none of the phones had exterior damage. If you are in the least tough on your phone make another choice please. If you keep your phone in a purse it will be a good phone for you.

I have purchased Nokia 6103 in US. It has GSM 850, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900. Will it work when I go back to India? If not I feel it will be better to keep GSM 900 also along with other bands to further improve the utility.

I have this phone in red, I bought it last July. It is the worst phone I've ever had. It doesn't ring, it goes directly to my voicemail, I have had it in for repair four times & it still goes directly to voicemail. I am now going to return it for a refund. I love the look, design & features of the phone but it's absolutely rubbish, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, & it was expensive.

The main downside of this phone is that it doesn't allow external memory & only have 4.4Mb internal memory.

This is a great phone. I've had it for about 1 week now & I love it. This phone is extremely easy to use. Everything is self explanatory on the phone & there is no use for a manual. I also like all the features. Text messaging, pictures/video, & the voice & sound recorder. Other features are instant messaging & internet but I don't use these because internet use costs a lot. I like the voice dialing & picture caller ID also. The design is awesome. I like the rubberized coat & it also looks very sleek. The silver trim adds a sense of style to the phone.

Overall this phone is a 9.5 out of 10. I would recommend it for anyone.

There is little to criticize about this phone. In this day of shrinking touch pads, where it is difficult to touch (push) the desired button, dialing with this phone is a pleasure. Reception is excellent. I had two other phones using the same mobile service, & the signal with this phone is very strong. (Solid 4 out of 4 bars) The camera, produced very high quality shots by cell phone standards. Battery talk time is impressive. You can't go wrong.

Like this phone & would want it in the smooth red colour. It has all the extras I would want on a phone & the camera is a must have extra. I haven't had a phone with a radio but I really want one, so this phone is on my wish list of phones.

Hi Matt here, like this model & I am loyal Nokia user as they have never let me down, they make the best phones. The new 6103 model sounds really good & the features are just enough for me, I must admit I am not a demanding customer & only use the basics like the texting, camera, video & the radio will be a new feature for me, doubt I will use it but who knows.

Nice looking phone, very compact, like flip phones & they must have an external screen. Must take a closer look at this phone. Nice one Nokia will be looking at this phone when it is available.

This phone caught my eye but the external aerial really puts me off it. I have had a phone with an external aerial before & it was a real pain in the back side. A real shame coz this phone looks really compact & love the internal keys. The keys are so eye catching & seem nicely spaced out which will be better for using.

6103 looks a bit retro internally & I am taken but anything a bit retro. Retro is good & so is this phone. Like the outer cover very much & want it in red. Has loads of good & useful features. Good job it has Bluetooth. I will be even happier if it is not too pricey. Want it...
