I often verbally & physically abuse this phone due to its slow performance refresh when connected to PC, its poor memory & its unable to perform a firmware upgrade.

It is like the 3210 or 3310, it doesn't break. If you want to make calls & write texts it's the phone for you. If your into gadgets it's a no no.

This phone is built from brick. I have dropped it so many times & it just keeps on working. I was trying out a new fancy phone recently & pressed one of the side buttons, & it broke. The battery lasts forever as well which is really important when you are on call 24 7. This phone is perfect for those who want a mobile phone, that is a PHONE. I have knocked back more expensive phones & Blackberry's for work as I need a reliable phone that will always work. For those who want all the bells & whistles, look elsewhere. For those who need to know they can always make & receive phone calls. This is a reliable choice.

- Long life battery.
- Low grade memory.
- Low quality pictures.
- No Bluetooth which is VERY BAD.
For a basic phone, it does what it says on the tin. You pay for what you get, so if you want good bells & whistles get another phone.

It's the best phone if you're looking for a good price & features relation. It has a little bit of everything. You can have MP3 ringtones, you have a so so VGA camera, GPRS Internet connection, Java, Multimedia messages, infra-red. & the best of all, its battery seems to last forever! In standby mode, you simply forget you need to charge the battery.
The only bad thing about this phone is its poor memory. Only 3MB. & it seems that it can't run java programs bigger than 130KB. Too bad. If I knew that, I'd have bought the 6111 instead.

Very easy-to-use phone for anybody that owned a Nokia before. There is almost no need for a User Manual!
My only complaints: memory too small at 3.2 MB, & I would prefer a black faceplate in spite of the silver, faceplate colour. Two ugly falls: no problems. Nokia are legendary-reliable.
Overall: a very good mobile phone.

Got my 6070 as a free upgrade from my old but working 3510. Buttons too small, ring too quiet, message beep too quiet. The camera is poor as is the radio.
I became utterly sick of this phone. It only rang when it felt like it, only beeped when it felt like it & the buttons only worked when they saw fit to. If we must have cameras, videos, games, radios etc on our phones then please can the manufactures make sure that the core functions of the phones works properly first.

Beautiful little device that does exactly what you want from a basic phone.
Here's the deal with me - I have a PocketPC I bring everywhere with me in my wallet (for all applications including GPS), my 80GB iPod & often have my laptop & other devices with me in a laptop bag.
An all-in-one device is no good to me due to the fact I'd drain the battery doing one task & I'd be screwed when it came to doing another (like making a call). Trust me, I had an iPAQ 6915 for over a month.
So with all my gadgets, I needed a simple phone to make/receive calls & texts on. One that didn't lag around when I was inputting numbers or sms messages, one that looked sleek & did what a phone is supposed to do. This phone is exactly it. It gets on with the job with no hassle, no complicated menus, no unnecessary gimmicks.
If you want flashy gimmicks this phone isn't for you. If you want something practical to use for a cellular device then grab this phone TODAY! It's £49 right now in your local Orange shop & is unlockable via IMEI & if my past experiences with Nokia are anything to go by, this phone will probably last longer than I will!
Thumbs up!

Reviewer: S Nair - Mumbai, India

User Interface is sssoooooooo slow. It takes almost a second to react to a button-press. Take this example: you are in standby mode, you just want to dial the last phone number quickly. You press the 'call' button twice (once for the recently dialled list, & second time to actually dial that number). Now by the time the call is made you could take a small nap!
But for 5000 INR ($120) what else can you expect? A 64-bit processor?

The specs are wrong. This only has 4MB of internal storage & there is no way of expanding it. Besides, this has no Bluetooth, & the lack of a dedicated MP3 player makes it a basic & cheap phone.
Reviewer: Ol' Tozzy - UK

Well, I have had this phone for a good couple of months. Thought it was a really good phone! However, it all depends what you're after. Ask yourself this before committing yourself to buy any phone.
Do you want super high quality images? If yes, this phone is not for you due to its 65k colour display as opposed to various other, more expensive phones which can display images in 256k colours. Quality is adequate though, clear enough to distinguish what you are seeing. I really like the animated icons in the select menu. Letter for messaging, World for WAP Internet etc. For some reason though, images such as the preinstalled wallpapers are clearer than those you see on the WAP Internet. Anyone who has used an NEC e228 or similar will understand what I mean here.
The Email client that comes with the phone is superb. No hassle to set up. General understanding of POP3 & SMTP are essential though when setting the email client up to send & receive emails. You can be offline & still type out the email without paying service charges. All you pay for is the data you use to send the email & on the network I use, Orange, it is extremely cheap.
Everything is easy to use. The radio is really clear (well, not tested it whilst traveling yet though). The 0.3MP camera is rubbish compared to other phones. Although is only good for circumstances where you might need to show someone a picture you have taken of someone else so they can get an idea of how they look. If you want a phone to take really good quality pictures, get a more expensive phone. The camera can be very blurry at times too, but hey, it's only VGA & at only £45 what more can I expect? I think it's a great phone nevertheless! The only problem that annoys me is that it doesn't have copy & paste functions & the memory is far too low it's draconian. No expansion slot for an SD card is a joke.
Please note: the bundled software that comes with the phone, Nokia PC Suite will be a nightmare to install if you don't have at least Windows XP SP1a installed (I had to install SP2 & took me about 1.5 hours).
If I were to get a different phone, I would get one with high-resolution.

I have bought this phone for Christmas, & yet I have not had 1 single problem, except I did have to call up & get settings for wap, MMS, ptt & email. I have noticed a very good improvement on the IRda (infrared) as I used to have a Nokia 6230 & was a extremely pricey & yet very little functions & quality, but here's the Nokia 6070 it has a excellent camera (I don't know what other people are complaining about mine works great! ) great key layout, but it doesn't have Nokia X-Press on covers so you are stuck with the ones that come with it, but I have no need for covers the original cover looks better than excellent & the first thing you will notice is when you compare it to other Nokia phones is that its slimmer & has a bigger screen & better quality, it has a music player (basic) & you will also notice that it will have a tiny dome-mirror so you can take pic's of yourself (no more going to the mirror! ) & FM Radio has excellent quality hold up to 20 stations & it has excellent coverage & this phone also has themes pre-loaded & downloadable very good battery life I use my phone a lot & it lasts about 2.5 - 3 hours (very good) & it has a new type of charger tip & its tiny, so you can't use any old Nokia chargers like on the 6230. & it has wap (wireless Internet)very fast & comes with a headset with one ear phone (which I find quiet amusing) but you can purchase a stereo headset (if desired) but I found the mono headset very useful I never have to take it off to hear properly. Overall I would recommend this to nearly about everyone very cheap & it has all the functions of dearer phones & lots cheaper & better, I had bought my phone for $129 Australian dollars & was a great deal & as I have mentioned before it was my networks fault for not putting wap, mss ect. Settings on the phone not Nokia's, if you have any questions before you buy this phone or anything about this phone please make a post. Thank you for reading this, Sam

However, there is always a 'however' trying to send pictures from England via a Motorola V220, using T-Mobile seems to be 'Mission Impossible' yet you can send Text Messages. Anybody, any ideas why. Perhaps Thailand doesn't have the technical capability for mobile phones to receive pictures. Anyone please let me know.

After spending 5 years with my old faithful Nokia 3210 I finally decided to upgrade to the 6070 & it's been a good experience so far. A quick call to Vodafone to get the online services & MMS allowed & the phone is working just as it says on the box. Imaging from the camera is not the best available but, for the purchase price of £59.99 I can live with that. I've been used to simplicity for so long with just txt & calls on the 3210 & the Nokia 6070 is just as simple with the clear menu & features just an extra click away, I was up & running with it within minutes of clipping in the battery & switching on.
I'm not a big moby user & my calls are basic "yes / no see you in five minutes" etc & this model just perfect for me but, no doubt the MMS, VGA camera & record facilities on the 6070 will no doubt increase my phone usage..

My experience with this phone is quite bad. I purchased this mobile handset 'Nokia 6070'on 14 August 2006. Its camera was defective. It was giving very poor view as well as captured image. I submitted this set to Nokia Care for this complaint right next working day of purchase. After taking about 20 days they returned the set & there was practically no improvement in its camera feature. I have sincere doubts about the service levels of the Nokia Care. This Brand new cell was handled very poorly. While returning the handset, after so call repair, they could not tell what was wrong with it & what they have rectified. Even they were not able to switch on the set to get it checked before me, as there was no battery available with Nokia Care outlet. The product is not at all as good as claimed by Nokia. It is worth recall & check what is wrong with its camera. My experience of purchasing this mobile handset & overall interaction with Nokia is very bad.

A simple down to earth phone that doesn't offer anything extra. Unlike the typical megapixel-cam clones which most companies are churning out nowadays. The NK 6070 is really a very simple phone (of course, also meaning its functions are at best mediocre) I'm played with the phone for 2 weeks & I guess you've to give credit to the fast interface (yes, it doesn't go lagging on you like the N70, N80 or N90 series), navigation is a breeze & it does what it sets out to do well. To note though, the VGA cam does produce really disappointing results (comparing with other VGA cameras) & only a measly 2.5mb is available for one's own stuff, NOT the 16mb as advertised by Nokia.

Basic looking but so practical & user friendly. It comes well equipped with all the stuff I want from my phone. I would like it in a brighter colour but at least its not shiny silver as that is so common now. I think the price will be very competitive for the 6070 & I will be having a closer look at it. It is a very nice & good features also & good communications at a very good price. But one thing is that is has low memory with no memory card or mmc slot.
