I like this phone quite a lot. There is music, video camera the only down side to it really is the whiteness but an extra plus is that you can still turn your phone on when its charging & record & video just not take pictures.

If you're going to buy this phone you're making the right move!

- the design is horrible nothing like the picture also there is a manufacturing problem because black marks come up on the number 5.

- the feature are okay.

- the usability, well the ringtone is hard to change at the start but after a while (4 months) you sort of get the hang of it.

I bought this phone sometime ago on a Virgin Mobile pre paid package & it is a really good phone. The design is really good, the features are refreshing & innovative & the sound is excellent.

Good points.
- Good design & quality.
- Awesome battery life, call & screen quality.
- Has loads of funky features packed into one small phone.

Bad points.
- the earphones supplied are of bad quality & hurt the ears terribly due to having hard buds. My suggestion is to buy a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor then attach your own earphones.
- the USB Cable is not included. You can buy these on eBay for a few pounds.

I would recommend this phone to anyone, but be aware that it is very fragile, so I won't recommend it to people who drop stuff. Other than that, it comes from a reputable brand (Nokia) which never has given me a problem in the past.

Right, I bought this phone because I am a texter. This phone is great to use for texting as the buttons are slightly raised & not exactly connected next to each other. I text loads & out of all the phones I have had, it's been brilliant to use for this as you can do it very quick. It holds enough texts which I am also happy with & the screen as its large is very easy to read & see what you're doing.

I also love this phone for the radio. Very easy to use & set up our stations, & I think the sound is loud enough to block out local noise, as for MP3, not enough memory for that.

The camera is average & doesn't have a good enough memory, but then if you want good pictures, get a digital camera.

It is chunky, but to be honest, this makes it robust. I have dropped my phone for the millionth time today & alas it is going to the phone graveyard as it's been dropped one too many times now. The screen has gone fuzzy & I couldn't read anything. However, I smacked it hard & it came back to life 30 minutes later! I am going to buy one exactly the same. Before that my other half had it & he's a builder. He filled it with sand grit & all sorts, & it still worked.

At the end of the day, it is a PHONE & it does what a PHONE is supposed to do. If it was a little bit slimmer, it would be perfect.

Nice little phone for about 5 days, then the LCD broke.

Clear, strong reception, good sound, decent speakerphone, but I never got to try much else. Now I can only answer calls with it.

If I could even remember an impact, if I felt a bruise on my leg where I'd crushed it or something, I could take the blame, but I never dropped it, & I don't remember anything happening to put undue stress on this phone, but there it was, with cracked LCD, barely usable.

The FIDO representative at Lime ridge Mall, Hamilton, who had highly recommended this phone only 5 days earlier now says sorry about your luck! This isn't covered under warranty! & though he wouldn't back down saying how good this phone is, he also wouldn't do anything for me!

Reading on here I see that broken LCD's are common with this phone. My friendly FIDO rep knows squat! They were selling a Motorola RAZR for 80 bucks less, & he told me NO DON'T GET THAT ONE!

Should I have got the RAZR?

5% for usability is about what I get with cracked screen. My recommendation, don't get this phone if you plan to do ANYTHING while you have it on your person!

I may get a replacement screen & replace it myself, then I'll carry the phone around in an armoured case packed with lots of soft padding.

Good points.
- Very good & fun design.
- Like the music keys at the side.
- Reasonably good to use.
- Pocket friendly.
- Good file manager.
- Very loud.


Bad points.
- Rubbish colour resolution.
- Slightly bricky.
- Only VGA camera.
- Rubbish video quality.

Good designed phone but the features let it down loads. I probably would recommend the phone because its great value for money.

I have had this phone for almost a year now & I have had no problems. It has a great MP3 player & can hold plenty photos & video. Every one that had problems with it was not in Canada so maybe if your planning on buying it you should order it from Canada, ship it to where you live & Unlock the phone for better results. :) It looks great & works great.

This phone is pretty indestructible. Mine has been dropped from some height & ran over by a car! The phone hasn't got good memory though you will need a memory card. The music player is alright, the camera is terrible though. The battery is brilliant. This phone isn't so nice when it's in your hand as it is really chunk & quite heavy. But all together it isn't a bad phone.

I had this phone for 3 months then the key board froze. Orange kindly sent out a replacement which lasted one week then I had a blank screen & it failed to re boot.

Apparently it is so popular that it is now out of stock at Orange Internet shop, don't know why.

I would not recommend this phone on reliability.

My wife bought this for my birthday August 2008 couldn't get the back off without using a crowbar I sent it back for a refund, the phone has to be user friendly & looking at some of the other reviews I did the right thing getting shut.

Well I got this January last year & I have been very disappointed! It is really chunky & heavy the slide keeps sticking & when texting some of the buttons get the corner stuck under each other. When you buy it you need to get a memory card & the sound quality isn't great. The camera is rubbish with low pixel pictures, I have seen better on phones under £20! (namely the lobster phones).

I am now going to get a Sony Ericsson I think, unless I find one that doesn't have the key design flaw.

Hi, This is a classy phone with an excellent design but has some flaws.

The shape & feel of this phone is classic Nokia & is admirable. You feel smart with this phone. The only small problem is taking the back cover off can be difficult & the slide handset moves when you do this & sometimes when you switch the phone on which can be a tad annoying.

The phone is quick to start up & shut down & the menus are intuitive & easy to use with nice, big writing. The phone can be mostly controlled without opening it using the select & arrow keys. The keys are all a pleasure to use. It has Bluetooth function & all the other functions I required.

However, I wanted to use this phone as an MP3 player for music & this is where I was disappointed. The phone has a memory slot but is not filled. The supplied headphones are very poor (& a 2.5mm jack only) & subsequently the music sound is below average. You would have to buy new equipment to gain any musical satisfaction from this phone. Don't buy it if you want good music. I tried the Sony W200i for music & it's much better (although not 100% perfect). But, the Sony's design is aged so don't get that one if you want a trendy phone.

So, this phone is very well designed, quick & easy to use, the one call I made with it was a bit quiet, but has poor music functions. Depends what you want to use phones for.

OK well I had this phone for a year but just a few days ago I dropped it in some water, but over the year I was very pleased with it but it didn't have a very high memory which I wasn't pleased with. The sound quality isn't very clear & volume is a bit low.

All in all a OK phone but now days you can buy a lot better for your money.

This phone is rubbish I've had it 4 about 6 months & the damn this is melting down sometimes the signal is gone, other times the buttons don't work it horrible. Does anyone have the same problem & know how to fix it.

I have had this phone a couple of days now. It's a good phone for the price. The camera is average but, the MP3 player is good. The only problem I've had so far is that the battery doesn't last long. I've had to charge it twice so far. I previously had a Nokia 6085 & the speakers started to crackle. I hope this doesn't happen with this phone. I really like the design.

Had this phone 5 days & the screen cracked. This was inside the screen as if something had blown inside. Virgin shop told me I had dropped it (which I hadn't) & would not get my money back from where it was purchased who credited me with my money back. Obviously there is a problem with the screens. I have never had problems with phones before & take care of things.

I hated the Nokia 5200 I had it for a year & I traded it for a Samsung D500 which was a lot better in everything! The Nokia 5200 can only hold one long song & a short song & only 11 photos & the imaging was rubbish!

The Nokia 5200 is supposed to me a music phone but it can't hold a lot so I would not recommend this even to anyone!

Hey guyz, My phone has been freezing too often. Every couple of hours or so, I have to take the battery out n replace it & even then it takes abt 5 min to start. Might be that the 2 GB mem card is giving sum problem. Also messages ae bundled up, but since I have 1 mb phone mem free I don't see that as a problem. I have installed the PC Suite & have created a back up of the data. Now I am thinking to update the firmware, if that doesn't work I may get rid of it. But since I have had such good times with 5200 I don't wanna lose it. PS. I have dropped it a couple of times. The screen actually cracked & I had to get it replaced. If any1 understands the problem be kind enough to share your knowledge. Please help me.

This phone is great. I've had it for year & a half. My main purpose was music which was a great feature. The stereo speakers really were awesome. I was also impressed by its solid body, though I broke the LCD! But recently I have been having problems freezing, blue screen, etc. I am going to update the software, hope it solves the problem. Anyway it's got your money's worth it. Camera's disappointing, & it's a bit slow with the 2 GB memory card, but overall it's a great substitute for an MP3 player & can indulge you in a world of its own!

I haven't had this phone for very long however, I do believe that it's really good. I gave it 95% in Design because I think that the front isn't very nice, like the colours of the 4 buttons (blue, green, red & blue). It's a great phone with features & usability. This is the best phone I've had since my LG Chocolate.

Also, some of you are looking for a new phone? I recommend either the LG Chocolate or the RAZR, both excellent phones which I have owned for a very long time. Thanks.

Good phone, but in comparison to the 5300 it is a heap of junk, small screen & poor applications, get a later model.

- Good loudspeaker.
- Poor screen quality.

I came from Moto PEBL U6 to this phone, PEBL has better screen quality & a better camera, but the 5200 has better music.

The phone is rubbish because I can't switch it off without taking the battery out, parts of the music player don't work & now it has totally broken you can't see the screen & I have had it for about 6 months, I wouldn't buy it. By the way I haven't dropped it etc.

This is a great phone especially for the money you pay for & it's awesome with the 2GB memory card. All features are very good except the camera a VGA which is expected at the price you pay for the phone.

I've had this phone at Christmas & it has worked fine up until now. Everything works but the keyboard (the keys on the phone itself) stopped working, I can only use the Shutdown key on top of the phone. No navigational keys, no numbers, no green or red keys. Nothing it's just a white screen, I can't see anything?

What can I do to solve this problem please get back to me ASAP! URGENT!

Cool man, I had this phone for about a year. Its handy, slide is very smooth, sound is really good I guess better than N91. It does make any problems in installing applications. Main feature is its attractive looks, for a snap I never used this phone digital camera is always better! Now I have 5300 but I didn't like it it's too heavy but if you want good music phone just close your eyes & say, Nokia 5200. The best phone ever.

I had the phone about a year, then the camera started to go, the back was hard to get off since I got the phone. I must say overall, the phone was well wearing other than the camera problems the phone last longer & was well worth buying considering the amount of time it was dropped or nearly snapped. I would recommend this product for a teenager more than an adult, because it has the features of MP3 which would more appeal to teens because, they want something cheap & stylish.

This Phone Was Okay For the First year. I Then had to send it back because my Bluetooth stopped working. Orange then gave it back to me & it was fine. Once again my Bluetooth stopped working from receiving things although it would send things to my friends?

The speakers are good. Camera is awful & the themes are cheap & bland. The screen isn't working & it sometimes freezes, well used to (I brought a new phone).

It's built like a brick & I think that it is very ugly & heavy. When you but the phone you don't get the USB cord nor the memory card.

After a while my camera stopped working & I couldn't retrieve any calls. & if I wanted someone to look at my phone I would have to pay £25, My friend did this she paid £30 to get her phone back & they didn't even do anything about it.

DO NOT BY THIS PHONE ITS A LOAD OF RUBBISH. Georgii.X

Hey, if your going to buy this phone then I say that you should because it is really good it's not flimsy mine hasn't broke yet & I've had it for a year so far.

Good memory it can hold lots of messages, songs & pictures. If you're looking for a good phone then this is the one for you. But the only thing is if you want to put it in your pocket then it's too fat, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Well it's an amazing phone. Especially for the amount we pay, really worth it. If you are looking for a phone in the range of 5000 my suggestion is you can definitely buy this with your eyes closed.

It has a great MP3 player & you can watch anything, absolutely anything.

The design isn't very good as in your pocket the slide can open very easily & my phone sometimes crashes & I have to take out the battery good phone but I recommend the Nokia 5300 a bit more money but worth it.

I have had this phone for about 2 months now, & when I was looking for a new phone I was wary about the mixture of reviews people were saying about the phone.

Good.
- Nice MP3 feature.
- Nice colour design.

Bad.
- Screen cracks easily.
- No internal memory, 5MB.
- Slow.
- Bad camera.
- No USB feature provided.
- No memory stick provided.

I've had one for over a year.

- Excellent keys, easy to type messages.
- Very good music player.
- USB connection very good.
- Problems with MicroSD larger than 512Megs (slows down phone).
- Software jam when phone memory is full.
- Poor headphones

All in all if you want a good music phone, Buy it!

Although this phone provides a lot for its price but I can't be modest to over its shortcomings.

- It doesn't provide path of the songs while playing in music player.
- From there we cannot carry out operations like, renaming, deletion etc.
- Speaker problem is very common it need repairing after 6 months.
- It also leaves black marks on keypad on 5, 3 numbers pad.

If these problems are removed it would be best among its range.

This is such a great little phone for the money. The styling is pretty cool, the slider is wicked & when it's down it is really neat. It was really cool to handle. I have been so pleased with it. The memory card stores loads of mp3s & pictures & stuff. It's all very easy to set up & use I had no problems transferring files from phone to PC or vice versa, the music player is absolutely great, great sound, easy to store & manage music files. I got to grips with it within a day or so & have had the phone for almost a year. I text a lot & the keypad is great for texting as it is nice & boxy which makes it solid to hold & the keys are spaced well for easy texting! The camera & video are pretty poor quality, but I have got some really great shots off the camera in good daylight, I guess for the money you can't expect top of the range camera etc. I downloaded some great games from the Nokia site to boost the games on here. They were dead cheap & fun & it was really easy to buy them & get them sent to the phone. Actually there are features on there I never used for email & other bits & bobs. If you are used to top of the range do everything phones with high res cameras etc. Then this probably isn't the phone for you, but if you want a reasonably priced phone with a good MP3 player, then I would definitely recommend this phone. I got mine on virgin mobile & it came with loads of free airtime & was a really good price to start with. When the screen started to play up when it was 11 months old they replaced it free of charge as you get a 12 month guarantee from the manufacturers on all their phones. I wasn't surprised that the screen wore out as I used that phone a lot to listen to music, play games etc!

I am thinking of getting one but does it come in black because I saw some pictures of it in black but I can't find it on the virgin mobile website because it only costs £49.99 & 800 free texts, no I am not a salesman but I really want a black although I like the red & blue that means I would have to colour coordinate myself with my phone which would just be sad.

Also, is it hardy as in it won't break if you drop it as my old phone broke? Please reply.

This phone is great but I got one in April & by July the screen had gone blank & it was deleting all my music. But because I liked it so much I got another one but last week it broke again with the same thing. It's a great phone so I am going to try again & get another one! :) the MP3 player is fabulous too!

Good easy phone to use. Camera is decent, if you want a better one buy a digital camera. It's a phone. Battery usually lasts me 2 to 3 days & that's calling for 3 to 4 hours a day. Great that you get a free memory card, 1 GB. Got it on contract at £10 a month with 100 minutes & 100 texts. Really good deal & it's Easier to use than the Samsung E250. You can download free games, themes & software to it. Nice little phone.

The Nokia 5200 is a cracking phone. With better sound quality then the Nokia 6120 classic which my other half has. The Nokia 5200 has not got a very good camera it's very poor but after all it is a music phone. If you want it for a camera use, get a phone with a 1.3 megapixel or even one with a 5 megapixel camera. But forget the camera, it's a cracking phone.

Not sure why people have knocked this phone as it is the best model I have had!

infra-red & Bluetooth are excellent, both PC compatible or the supplied USB connector can be used along with the down-loadable Nokia Software Update programme etc, free from their website. Battery lasts me for approximately 1 week between charges, & that is averaging 30 minutes of calls & 200 texts per charge.

Camera is fine, though I must admit that is not an item high on my list of priorities! Design is slick, mine is the red-colour version & it easily fits in a jacket or trouser pocket.

All in all, highly recommended to anyone thinking of buying a modern 'cool' mobile.

Hi. I am a big fan of reviews for things I want so I thought I would check it out. I am going to be honest. I think it is an amazing phone. Like a job, for you to enjoy it you need to want the requirements. It is a more boyish phone. You like music. Things you might consider not getting before buying is the camera.

It is a very stylish looking phone with many amazing features. I do recommend buying it. For those in UK if you look in the Argos Christmas saving booklet.

Get it if you are always on the move.

I have this phone at the moment, it's OK. Not as good as I thought it would be though.

- the memory is poor, it holds 1 song at the maximum.
- the quality of the camera & video are all blurred & its poor quality for a Nokia.
- It is quite bulky.

I love the slider on this phone though, it doesn't feel cheap & it has a good springy action. Overall it's not bad, if it had more memory & a better camera it would be a great phone.

This is a really good phone. It keeps me entertained for a long period of time. I have recently bought it & find this phone very easy to use. There are also some things I am trying to discover but I know as a fact that I will find them in my own time. It has really good features like loudspeaker (for music) & I have to say they are really loud. If I was to rate this phone out of ten, I would give it a 9.5.

I think this is a rubbish phone I bought it in July & have charged it like 1, 000, 000 times! The camera is rubbish quality & the back is really hard to get off! As for the memory well, it's awful I recently put a song on & that's about as much as it holds!

The Nokia 5300 is a music phone & I thought this would be because it looks like a sporty music phone. I would not recommend this to anyone who likes music & taking pictures. I am very disappointed & I will be getting a new phone.

Hey friends, I read all the reviews here, I bought this Nokia 5200 six months back & I'm very happy as this phone is the best as it is similar to Nokia 5300 except camera & display.

We can put memory card as well as we can connect through USB. The only problem I got with this cell is speaker problem as sound keeps on reducing, if speaker is proper then this phone is best for its price.

By reading all the reviews I took a 5200 for RS 5700. It ranks a best audio output & speed Internet connectivity. The Bluetooth facility is also rocking.

Camera shows a medium clarity if you adjusted its settings. If you are a music addict go straight & buy a memory card & a connector which is not included with this (I've 1GB card). Also you have to download Nokia PC suite.

The one thing which made me depressed is it poor battery life. Anyway this is a nice phone which is ment for music.

I would severely encourage anybody looking for a phone to look elsewhere because this phone is awful! I have had it 3 months & the battery life is at a maximum, one day, the back of the phone is really difficult to get off & the screen picture quality is awful! I have changed to the Sony Ericsson k800i & I have had no such problems with the battery life & the screen picture quality is just awesome! The camera is way better on the Sony Ericsson as well.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! The Sony Ericsson has a lot of music space as well! You can also get a 1 gigabyte memory card to put into it so that you can have like 500 songs on it or more!

From day one I've had real issues with the battery life. Lasts only a day even when not been used. Most annoying thing is I bought another battery & it still lasts just a day when fully charged. I have used all types of phones yet this has been the worst battery life ever. Great features though.

Looks good. & stylish in the beginning I that the battery backup is bad. But that was because for the first time it has to be charged full. Once I did that now the battery runs for even 3 days. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! This is possibly one of the worst phones I have ever had, terribly made not worth the £60 to £100 you have got to pay for it. Nokia have tried to get in the new market for these flip, slide & twist phones but have made a poor attempt. I have sent this phone back twice because the microphone & ear piece that are built into the phone keep breaking & the phone is not sturdy. I have now swapped it for a Sony Ericsson Z610i, you should buy this. They use far too cheap materials to do this where as Samsung & Sony Ericsson are great. If you are interested in buying a Nokia phone make sure its one of their traditional whole candy bar phones as they are the only phones they are good at, stick to this advice & you'll be fine.

REMEMBER don't BUY THIS AWFUL PHONE.

Hey frndz. I saw these reviews & I bought this phone. Headache for me. Phone is cool. Features are also matching up. But. I can't afford its battery life. It's too bad. It's too bad that hardly lives up to 1 hour if you listen continually & stand by. Goes off soon if you charge it completely & you use nothing in it, battery starts leaking. & within 8 hours it would have dropped completely. I doono whats wrong. But I would say this is the greatest mistake that I have done in ma life. Read the review & bought the phone unfortunately one elz have this. Or for safe guarding Nokia brand image these domain creator hiding the truth or what? I doono.

Great phone. This is the best Nokia Phone of all the Nokia models I have ever used & carries all the features.

Drawback: VGA camera low resolution & internal 5 MB memory.

Excellency: FM, MP3 sound quality, Micro SD Memory slot, which can be expanded up to 1GB, Great!

Love this phone very much & worth it for the price. When compared to Samsung, LG prices this Nokia 5200 gives us all we need! Thanks to Nokia.

The Nokia 5200 is a great phone. It has a simple Design with a sliding action. It has every feature you could ever have on a phone. It's very cheap & yet you get a great deal.

When I first go the phone I thought it wouldn't do much because of how little I paid for it (19 Euros) & yet it has grown on me, as a very neat & useful phone.

The only problem this phone has is a low internal memory (5MB) & the resolution of the camera is first generation (640*480), you get what you pay for I guess. But with that, this has to be one of the best phones I have ever used.

I was looking after some really good phone which could give me MP3, FM, a Cam (as a formality wasn't bothered about VGA or MP & all), & kind of GPRS, Bluetooth infra-red & all those basic features most of the mobiles contain these days.

My first choice was for Sony Ericsson mobiles.

I was swept over my feet when I made a teeny weeny research over the W series. I mean I was out in the market to buy a Sony Ericsson piece. But say call it destiny or fate or something. I noticed this cute piece of 5200 @ the store.

I enquired about the price (as it was my primary concern then) & the features. It had. I was amazed @ the quality of sound that this mobile could play. ! In addition I being a radioactive guy. Fell in love with this mobile then & there. Call it love @ first sight or something!

I decided to let go off my biased decision towards the W series & now I have this cute & stylish 5200 in my one hand as I am typing this review with my other hand!

Thanks Nokia. The battery backup is great. ! I couldn't ask for more.

Yeah, for all those ppl who care a lot about cam quality in their cell phones. Say perhaps @least a 1.3MP would have been a grrrrrrr8 added advantage along with the excellent music play capability that this phone has.

Way to go. This mobile is going to stay here with me for quite a long time to come. Till off course until I may change my mind :D

As per my point of view it is the best model of Nokia in a normal price. First time in India Nokia company has launched this type of module in which we get all the features of high-resolution in which we can keep the handset safe e.g. We can't store the phone messages in memory card it is the big issue who want to store each & every messages. If you are a music buff go for this one. It produces amazing sound (very close to Sony Ericsson W series phones). But that's it it's no good for anything else. Extremely bad display, no megapixel camera (though at this price you cannot expect one from Nokia), only 3GP video support. Cons list is long. Overall because of its horrible display you cannot enjoy it although the set can do almost any task of other mid-range phones.

I've had many phones in the past, but not one has been as much fun & been as useful as the Nokia 5200.

You have lots of memory potential, up to 2GB so far is possible. I've only got the free 256MB card it came with, but I've managed to download over 100 free Java games, proper 3D video games on your little Nokia! Those 100 games has only used a tiny 18MB so still have loads of room for music, video & photos.

If I decide to get a 2GB card, well that's absolutely loads of stuff on a tiny phone. If you want free games just Google search for jar files, I am still finding them now.

The only fault I can find with it is, the camera is poor, & video just acceptable. But if you're downloading video clips & playing them back, then the playback quality is perfect.

Well all you have to do now is go & buy it, make sure you get yourself a USB lead so you can get your music & games downloaded onto it once you've been to the Nokia site & downloaded Nokia PC Suit that is!

If you go shopping at Tesco's in the UK, they are doing them at £54.97. That's £25 off the original price. But only if you spend £20.00 on shopping or air time top-up I think.

I hope my review as helped some of you decide to go out & get one of these excellent phones.

The features in this phone are good. The ringer in this phone went off & was told by the Nokia care guy that it is a manufacturing defect. Otherwise the phone is user friendly.

Hi Everyone

I have been looking for a new upgrade phone from my Samsung x640 which is also an AMAZING easy phone, but it's getting old & used now & so I have been looking around & I noticed this one! I am EXTREMALY amazed that it has got such an amazing report & it's so cheap.

ATM I have found it for sale for £62.00 odd but then again I am using a voucher. LOL

Do you think that I should go & buy this phone & does everyone think it's worth it?

1Q) Can you have your MP3 tunes as your mobile ringtone & msg alert?

The Nokia 5200 is a complete mobile set with lots of features. Its Music feature is outstanding. If you see the design, it gives a sporty look. I am really impressed by the features it has.
