Simply designed, this is an ideal phone for anyone looking for a basic phone with great battery life.

You will with reasonable use easily get five days out of this handset, it's very user friendly & comes with the best FM radio reception I have heard yet on any handset. Absolutely superb little phone & at the price many retailers have it available for, it's a steal.

Totally easy to use, good buy from the Carphone Warehouse too! Cost under a tenner, does everything I want it to do (although WAP would be handy but hey I paid under a tenner), it's compact & light to carry. I've had it for 6 months & it has been thrown about in my car, stood on by my kids & pretty much had its fair share of knocks. But it still works perfectly! Good phone!

Very, very basic! This is the kind of phone for those who want to phone & nothing else. Sadly, you can't send or receive MMS or download ringtones & wallpapers (I wasted a few quid trying to download one, when I got the message it wouldn't open).

However, it is an okay phone. But there is nothing special or exciting about it.

Dear Anon, there are volume buttons. If you call or receive a call use the large upper centre button, I.e. Menu scroll button, or joystick & with right & left, you increase or decrease the volume. You need to be receiving or making a call for this to work perfectly.

It is an excellent phone.

What do you need from a mobile phone? A phone. This phone is simply perfect. It makes calls & sends messages. It has a radio, a calendar, all the alarms. What Else? Very useful to use & very cheap. Nokia should make this its policy. It will eliminate all competitors with such products. Well done Nokia.

If you want to raise the volume, during a call then simply press the right button to increase it & the left one to decrease it (in that middle arrow keys).

If you want to change the volume of your ringtone then go to your menu, settings, tone settings then ringing volume.

If you want to raise the volume while listening to radio then press right or left of that small plate in the middle. That'll work when your radio is turned on.

I hope this will help you!

I am using this mobile phone for one year. It's working fine & battery is also good. The best thing I liked about this cell is that FM Radio, its volume is although not that high but clarity is recommendable & connectivity of the radio is superb. A long text message can be written up to 918 words which you hardly found in other brand phone of this category. It's user friendly & no problem at all yet.

I am replying to the query posted by Joy, where she had mentioned about sum of her messages going into the Screened messages folder. This is happening because those numbers have been added to the screened list. To remove them from the screened list simply go to Menu, Contacts, No Screening & remove the numbers from there.

Regarding the phone it is simply a great phone & completely hassle free.

This was an easy phone to use when I first got it 2 months ago from Carphone Warehouse but has developed a problem with receiving text messages. Most of my messages now go into a section under screening! Which also does not let you know you even have a message no icon no ring tone no nothing! Carphone Warehouse nor Orange net work have any idea why this is happening so neither want to take responsibility. Anyone got any ideas?

The design is as every phone layout out there, People are saying it's got no features (I.e. Bluetooth. Camera) then don't buy it simple!

The reason why I give this phone a low features mark is because I have had problems with the FM Radio, its fine when you start to listen to it using the hands-free wire or the loadspeaker BUT the about 40 sec's later (because I have timed it) it suddenly goes really load for no reason, it been repaired 3 times luckily under 12 months warranty & each time I got it back the was still there.

When I asked them for a refund they just keep saying 'we can't offer you a refund we can only replace it'. Which was fine at the time So I said can I have a replacement they said we've got none in stock yet, I can understand that but I've been 2 times already, If they don't have any in stock the 3rd time. I WILL be getting me money back.

I am fed up with going back & fourth to the shop.

This shouldn't really put people for buying it because it might not happen to all 2310's.

It a shame really because when it was working it was I brill little cheap phone I really enjoyed it!

For a basic no gimmick mobile this is a belter. OK you might not get a camera, Bluetooth etc, but after those gimmicks wear off you only have a phone after all. Try ASDA currently for this phone, they are offering it for 20 pounds & for that you get your 20 back in free airtime from them. Absolute bonus, I just wanted a phone, & this does the job for me plus I don't have to worry about having a 200 pound stealable piece of kit on me all the time. 5 Stars.

UK supermarket chain ASDA is offering this phone free when you buy £20 ADSA mobile airtime (service provided by & phone locked to Vodafone). What's the catch? Well, there isn't one really.

What maybe 80% of adults want from a mobile phone is a simple interface, good call quality & long battery life, which this phone delivers in spades! There's no MP3 player (but there is a very good radio), no camera, no Internet access, no built in neck massage function. Just a straightforward well built phone for us old fogeys (& the fogey at heart! ). At this price point, it would be truly churlish to complain!

Fanstastic, just wonderful, I can't imagine my life without it. I take it everywhere. It is so handy to be able to make calls while I am walking down the street, or on a bus, or in the car. The SMS feature is wonderful too, if I don't feel like talking to someone, or if I just want to pass on a note without having to talk forever with the person I call. I can't work out how to use the FM radio, but what a wonderful feature that would be if I knew how to use it. Whilst it is rather expensive, I think it is well worth your money! I recommend to all! A+++.

Bought this phone yesterday on Virgin pay as you go all in with £10.00 credit from Carphone Warehouse, opted for gorgeous Metallic Red for £22.95! Open to all networks which was why I bought this as am stuck in 18 month contract with O2 & this is to keep me going to end of contract as my contract phone (Samsung E900) & then Motorola V3 have both given up within 9 months!

I LOVE THIS, EASY TO USE, GREAT LOOKING, & ALL YOU NEED. I shall never get an all singing all dancing phone again. They just go wrong. Oh, & husband buying me digital camera for my birthday so not all bad. Nokia'S rule, nobody does it better! :).

This is a big steal at the price at which it is sold. Nice phone with good reception & a very long lasting battery life especially required for a heavy user like me. I want a mobile phone which is just great at what it does make phone calls & sending sms. I don't care much about radio as I have an iPod as my constant companion. I needed a mobile phone which was solidly built & can accept some brutal mishandling.

I have already broken my Samsung c170 which was very slick but it had some issues of its own the one to be mentioned was a short battery life. It just hadn't got enough juice to last long. Also the graphic was amazing on Samsung on this Nokia it rubbish but its legible the writings can be easily understood, so no issues there. Some people want the world for a penny, go shell out some more to get some good quality products or you always have the option to buy something cheap local china made stuff which have all what you need except quality & they come with a free gift as well.

This is a really easy-to-use phone with clear big keys. It doesn't have any cameras, Internet access, MP3 player - all it has is a handy little radio & a good clear sound. The battery life is excellent.

I got this as a 'mug me' phone - for the times when I wouldn't want to take my more expensive phone with me. I just use it for calls & texts, & I am not disappointed with it at all.

It's dual band, so it'll work in most of the world apart from Japan, USA, & so on.

Only gripe about it is the size of the screen. It's small, slightly cluttered. Still, for under £25, it's a real bargain.

A very solid choice if you just want to make phone calls & send text messages. (Why are people on here complaining about the lack of camera/Java etc.? It's 30 UKP! & that's in rip-off Britain :-) )

Looks OK, great battery life, feels durable. A couple of points:

1) It does NOT support MP3 ringtones. The promotional material mentions 'MP3-quality ringtones' (which means nothing, as they could be 64k encoded!) but that's referring to those built-in. You can't add your own MP3 ringtones as far as I am aware.

2) The FM radio is excellent for the price, but the headphone port is a 2.5mm jack, so most normal headphones won't work. The phone is supplied with some earphones, but if you want to attach anything else, you'll need a converter (only 2 UKP from Maplin).

Overall, if you only need to make phone calls & send texts, this is an excellent phone.

I agree with other users. This was given to me as a birthday present a few days ago & it is great! All I wanted was a mobile telephone LOL which had the capacity to send/receive sms. I don't like having things bundled together similar to a washer/dryer & when one part doesn't work, the whole thing is useless. A lot lighter than my previous Siemens A60 too.

Hi, this phone is a basic phone. It's good for what it is made for. It has basic functions. Like a regular Nokia phone it has simple screen. Looks good too. Not too fancy, flashy or designer phone. Its dual band so will not work in US & other continents though it works great in India. Has good speaker, great radio. Overall I liked the phone.

The Nokia 2310 is a brilliant phone if you don't want all the fancy features of 3G. The radio is crystal clear if you turn off the visualisations (don't know if this is just peculiar to mine). Only disappointing aspect is that you can't send multiple texts from your inbox but can if you are composing. However got mine from Carphone Warehouse didn't want the £10 credit so they did it as an upgrade to from O2, which is who my sim card is with - £14.99 & O2 are giving £8 worth of credit to boot - so all I've really paid is £7 for a great little phone really chuffed!

I bought this phone in Malta, & I would like to have the user's guide in English. However it is so user friendly that I just managed to use it rather quickly by trial & error, & it works to my entire satisfaction. I was scared when I changed from my previous basic phone. I do not want any Camera's or other gimmicks, I want a phone. If I want to take photos I have a proper sleek camera always on me for that purpose as I like photography. I think that it is the best buy for the not so young with all the features one would need to be served. I think that so far I can say that I am a satisfied customer. Thank you.

If I wasn't so used to that I think this phone would be perfect, I did think about giving it to my 10 yr old daughter but she likes her cam to much so I guess ill be listing it on eBay. It's not worth the money I paid for it, would be better with the ability to download games & maybe MP3's

Having just dunked (by accident) my old phone in hot chocolate I bought this one as a quick replacement.

I shall miss my camera but on the whole I find this phone so much easier to use. I felt at home with it in minutes. It looks expensive, which it is not, I have it in white & it looks a bit like something from Apple. It is real easy to turn on & off & access info. The sideways scroll is odd at first but OK. Only complaint is that the screen is very small & cluttered with icons & time etc. It hasn't got a lot of choice of ringtones but that doesn't really matter. It's a phone for grownups, no bells & whistles but does what it needs to.
