It is a great & reasonably cheap mobile phone.
It could have better safety device but very durable cases could have been provided however. Other high end models of various phone are weak in comparison. Perhaps range could be better, for travelling? Battery lasts long time & easily charged. What more can one want of a mobile phone?
Otherwise would turn it into a toy like most others.

If you want a cheap & cheerful phone with good battery life & reception then buy it. I had an all singing all dancing Sony Ericsson. What a waste of space it was, dropping call after call after call. The 1110i has everything needed to make a call, & it hasn't lost a signal or dropped a call yet. I am happy with it, & I don't see myself having another camera phone. Thy have too many gadgets & not enough quality. Give me the 1110i anyday!

I am from Telecom & Networking background & always keep updating to myself with the latest upcoming Technologies & Trends & keep reading the various News, views & Web Sites for my hunger 'to know the first', I am truly agreed with Device like Nokia Mobile 1110i which is very simple to use & having very strong capacity of battery & all such common features which are been required by any average common working person at anywhere around the world. I have seen many cases that at present the mobile phones with multiple features like Camera, MP3 player or FM radio etc. & as well as with Web & VPN or WLAN kind of the system dose not function correctly & the in today's environment the biggest challenge & threat is the growing Mobile Virus & Data Theft or Mobile Hacking which are expanding very rapidly, & its really very sad to mention that Anti Virus system or the Security on Mobile devices are Not very good or Strong, So it's Not safe to use the medium or high end mobile devices/ phones especially the features of Bluetooth & Web access etc. But Nokia 1110i is always safe from all these kind of threats or problems. This is the one & only mobile phone which is truly manufactured for the 'Working Professionals' & 'truly mobile force' Rest all other mobile phones & there features are just 'Technologic Nuisance & Wastage of Technology'. So use Nokia 1110i, it's a Great Phone, it's a 10000% Value to your Money.

I have a Nokia 1110i which I really like as it is so simple to use. The problem is I am going to Brazil soon & don't know if it will work there, I have a 02 simcard.
I also have a Sony Ericsson K810i which I think will work there as it is 3G but I prefer to take the Nokia.
Can anyone advise me on the Nokia I.E. Will work in Brazil?

Reliable, small, light-weight, easy to read screen, decent key-pad, simple user interface, good signal & outstanding battery life. It's got the lot.
Having just switched from my trusty 6310 I do miss the volume control, WAP & multiple phone numbers per contact but they are not essential & would probably have made it more expensive & heavy. I bought mine with a Virgin SIM card from ASDA, Brighton for £20. It's unlocked to any network.

I had the Nokia 1100, but it was accidentally smashed when a car door closed on it. The display was bust, but I was still able to receive calls on it.
I had to replace the phone, & I thought I am going to buy a better phone. After reading all the reviews of other phones (& looking at them in shops), up to 5 times the price, I decided just to buy the 1110i.
All I needed was a telephone. I have a Nikon camera to make photographs, & an MP3 player. We have a Nokia phone with a radio, & we never use it.
The most important things I need from a mobile phone is:
1. Good reception.
2. Good call quality.
3. A clear display.
4. Long battery live.
5. A strong phone (like my indestructible Nokia 6310i).
6. Easy menus & navigation.
7. Nokia phone, because you can charge it at most people's houses.
8. The phone needs to be small & light- I don't like to carry bricks around!
9. When a phone breaks, I would just like to replace it with another without 'crying' about the loss.
I think the 1110i gives me all the above.
The 1110i looks better than the 1100. It has more features, but it doesn't have a flashlight. It feels good in my hands. There is a connection (next to the power connection), which looks like a USB, but the manual does not refer to it- so I don't know the function of it.
I will only buy a more expensive telephone if I need specific features on it (e.g. Wi-Fi when it will become mainstream & I can use VOIP with a mobile phone). Why pay for a rubbish camera? I will never use it.
Why pay more to have a phone with a shining display that is hard to read, a short battery live or to little memory to store bad photos?
The Nokia 1110i is just a mobile phone- it does what it is suppose to do & I am very happy with it.
I think many people buy phones with features they never use- or the features are too bad to be of any use (like a terrible camera), & then they compromise on the real important features required from a mobile phone (good battery life, reception & call quality).

As the now famous advertisement stipulated - 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. A quote that perfectly describes this affordable, reliable, functional, no fuss, user friendly bundle of joy. If you want a phone & not a star trek level ten life controller, then this is the one for you. Good stuff Nokia!

I have to admit it, I am in between phones & I got this one free. A free mobile was part of a promo, however, this was not the one advertised (which was a different model with a colour screen) & I complained when this one arrived. However, as soon as I put it together I was happy, it felt wonderful in my hand, a perfect fit & weight, but as soon as I turned it on, it was love. I love the screen, the text, the fact that it has polyphonic ringtones instead of the mono I was expecting, that it even has a picture phonebook. The menu is beautifully easy to use. I don't know if this is a Nokia feature as my past phones have been mainly Motorola. I just plain think the phone is fantastic & it will certainly do me for the foreseeable future. I am always losing phones so don't want anything expensive anyway, & as I am not a big user Pay as You Go is perfect for me. If I knew what I would be getting I would have been more than happy for fork out the twenty-odd quid for it :). I have since discovered that, for instance, Virgin do not list all the functions adequately as I suppose all the stuff it can do is mainly associated with colour. As for the other stuff. Well, I have cameras, I have MP3 players. The only thing I might lament about is Internet access & email, but I never used it even when I had it. I bought my 11-year-old niece a Motorola SLVR for Christmas, & even she's impressed with my phone - she keeps pinching it to play the games, & annoyingly keeps changing the settings on the different profiles.

I think it's a fantastic phone. It's just what my grandfather was looking for, as simple as possible & a good, clear screen 'cause his vision is reduced due to his age & cataract, & big the big buttons = (L)
I can't understand why people are complaining about it, you should read the purpose why they created the phone in the first place & buy another phone instead.
100 % on all because it does what it's supposed to do.

The Nokia 1110i serves its purpose as a basic mobile phone. No fuss, no hassle.
Its simple ringtone is nostalgic, like when it rings in a crowded train. The newer phones with MP3 ringtones are so annoying. They sound like car stereo tweeters, & you can't make out what song they're playing half the time.
The feature I like most is the battery life. A single charge can last for 2 weeks (!) if you use the phone minimally I.e. 15 minutes a day. Yes, I can't listen to MP3 or snap photos with the phone, but I never miss important calls anymore. Plus, I am getting older. Technology irritates me. Simple is the way to go.
Of course you'll be underutilizing the G3, WAP, GPRS services & what nots offered by your mobile service provider, but I've always believed that all these gizmo-jimbos are ways Telco's adopt to make us spend more.

For those who keep complaining that this phone doesn't have all the features that most of the rest of us never use, don't keep saying it is a bad phone. Bite the bullet, shell out those extra bucks, & get an Apple iPhone SmartPhone. Hey, its fair - user pays! Nokia, you've got it RIGHT.

For all the people who complain about this phone not being up to par - they should get into their heads that the world doesn't revolve around them & Nokia has already given them the option to dig into their pockets (which they don't want to do) & get the fancy jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none gizmos. They want to get a Rolls for the price of a Chevrolet. It still doesn't occur to them that many of us do not care about using the mobile phone for anything else other than what it was meant for. If I want to take pictures, I will take ones I can be proud of with my 8 MP camera! If I want to hear MP3s, I will use my iPod! If I want a Blue Tooth, I will skip the dentist - hahaha. I hope Nokia will keep this one on the market for a long time to come. Judging from the number that were purchased by others around me just in the few minutes I was making my purchase, it seems the losers did lose out!

I have to laugh at you people who rubbish a cheap basic user friendly phone that cost $60AU. What do you expect for this price? It is a phone that does what it was intended for, i.e.: to make & receive calls. I have had one for 2 years & it hasn't missed a beat. It holds a great charge & if you damage/break it or it gets lost go & get another one or upgrade. The keys are fantastic, nice & big & the screen is easy to read. The only thing missing is a calendar. For all those precious & special people out that rubbish this basic phone who are after MP3, Bluetooth, 2mpix camera, sat nav, housecleaner, financial advisor, high-resolution you want in a phone.

A good basic phone for doing what you expect to do with a phone, making & receiving phone calls! If you want a camera buy a camera not a phone. I can't believe people are writing bad reviews. It's sold & marketed as a basic phone for people who don't want loads of bells & whistles, & it does just what it advertises.

I like the Nokia 1110i because it is one of the easiest phones to change the message incoming tone & is so much better then the old phone that I had (3315. Some of my friends say that it isn't a good phone because it doesn't have any of the more fancy features like 1.5 mega pixel camera & other expensive features that would just get it stolen & it has everything that I will need in the upcoming years.

Features that I especially like are:
- Easy to read back-lit LCD, which is clear day & night
- Speaking clock
- Speaking alarm clock
- Speaker phone
- Good battery life
- So cheap it is almost disposable

After having used numerous so called smartphones, I finally came across this wonderful phone today, It reminded me of the 3310`s & the 3315`s & of the times when phones were used for the exact purpose they were built for, to make & receive calls & send sms`s without having to feel like a fool. & for all of you yuppie types who feel that their phone has to play music, take pictures & talk to them or something, I have only one thing to say about them advanced phones 'Jack of all trades & master of none'.

Its not fancy, its not posh it just does what its name suggests, it's a phone! Not everybody wants to walk about e-mailing or taking pictures of anything & everything, listening to MP3's or whatever. Some of us simple souls just want to make calls & text. It's got clean lines, reasonably small, has easy to press buttons (if you have mechanics hands like mine the smaller phones are just no use).
I would say top marks, its not expensive, if you want extras & special features don't buy it, its not the phone for you but that doesn't make it a bad phone after all we are individuals & have our own preferences.

I had a Sagem before this & the Nokia 1110i just knocks it out. I was very happy with my fone or so I thought until my friends ringing me could not understand why my Sagem was not ringing simple I had accidentally lost my grip & the Sagem fell into the toilet prior to leaving the house result no fonecalls heard!!! I went to buy a new one & after a search & not having a lot of money I thought that I would buy this one as there was no Sagems left & Boy what a bargain I had for 20 pound yes !!!! This fone the difference in hands friendly was unbelievable! I had not realised just how stressful my Sagem was & had been making me .......usability & design... the design is lovely & having a clasic clock on the frnt great & the date on the front the only snag is that I have not been able to get the day put on the front as yet.
The real big main advantage is this - u can use ur fone out in public without worrying are u going 2 get mugged & also no one is going to steal it & if they do I can afford to get a new one in fact I am going to get another one just in case I need a standby or that the firm stops selling them at this price..... it is the right size for my fingers & I really am so happy with it to be honest this was just going to be a stand-in till I had enough money to buy a Sagem now I'm not going to bother to buy another unless something happens to this one & I think ill stick to the Nokia brand & being musically minded the composer on it suits me fine so that I can compose my own ring tone I have only had this fone a few days so at present I am looking it up on the net to know a few tones to compose so that I can have my own unique ringtone of my own composing on it.. The only snag is I can't work how to do the Cimarron game on it the snake game is fine..... who needs the fancy gadgets & complications ........Thank goodness I dropped mine down the toilet lol......The only thing I do miss with the Sagem is that it had a cover over the screen u had to open the fone to use it but ah well I'm getting used to this one now & perhaps that won't matter at all after a few days. Plus I could stick my own network card in it & not have to go with the network of their choice lol.....All in all I am a very happy consumer lol........

This phone is economical & for features have everything I need to make a good phone call. I just moved to Turkey & had my other phone stolen so needed one that had a good price & was basic. It seems to me that putting a camera into a phone or an mp3 player into it, than that would mean that more things can go wrong. Why would I want a camera in a phone, can buy a nice small camera with many more features & better quality pictures. Love my new Nokia.

This phone is exactly what I wanted... Some people just don't understand that if they want to click pictures, they should buy a digicam... if they want to listen to music, they should buy an mp3 player... This phone is for people who know what a phone is... not for young kids... & anyways, how long is ur hi fi slick phone gonna last? 5 months? 6 months? Before it gets obsolete...
I'm a Linux user... & I like good stuff... :) And I think this one is value for money!

I'll tell you why people want to buy a telephone like the 1110, without all the features: some people actually still only use their cell phone to make a phone call, & couldn't care less about WAP, 1.3 megapixels, built-in video cameras, MP3 quality ringtones & the rest of the items they stuff into mobile 'phones' these days.
Give me a phone so simply built I can drop it out my second-story window onto the pavement below & two minutes later call my friends about it. That's the way they USED to build them (3210, 3310 anyone?) & I hope they did the same with the 1110.
I'm buying it as soon & I can get my hands on it, so I can finally throw my Sony-Ericsson out of the window (an experience my Sony Ericsson WON'T survive!). Cheers!

This phone is older than my Granddad. In today's market of mobiles, this is completely below the benchmark set by the likes of the nokia N series & sony ericsson walkman phones. The design is dull & thoroughly unappealing, as is the lack of common day features. Just think - when you hear the classic "beep-beep" nokia message tone in public you can't help but stare. Come on we've all been there!
Overall, this phone is poor in every aspect & should be completely removed from the market for evolution's sake if nothing else.

Waste of time & money if you ask me mate. What are phone manufactures playing at with these boring phones with dull designs & no features. Nokia have too many plain looking phones. It has no colour screen, no camera, no Bluetooth, no videoing, no media player & no fun. I don't get it & I won't get it either. Not normally a complainer but can't understand what people want will be buying these phones with all the features that are now available. Look at the N series from Nokia & we are talking mate.
