I have had 5 of these phones, they have all had the same problem, SOFTWARE! Orange are now sending me a ' BRAND NEW ONE ' & not a refurbished one! So I am just waiting in AGAIN, for the courier who knows me quite well, for another Nokia E5. Complete rubbish phone.

I have had 5, yes 5! In 3 months, Nokia E5 & all with the same problems despite being told that each 'new' one will work!

I am currently now awaiting to send this horrible phone back & am back to using my cheap old mobile as Orange have so far & about 30 phone calls STILL not sent me the jiffy bag to return it. Do NOT buy this phone.

I have been using E71 for the last two years & it was excellent. Now I purchased E5 a few days ago. It is, I would say, an ultimate phone in business phones. It has 256 MB RAM (E71 has 128 MB RAM. It has 600 MHz processor (E71 has 300 MHz processor). It has 3.5 mm headphone socket (E71 has 2.5 mm socket). It has 5 megapixel camera (though not excellent but so so). E71 has 3 megapixel camera.

Youtube videos do not hang (thanks to high RAM & processor speed) unlike E71 (on Wi-Fi).

Music player is excellent on both E71 & E5.

Video player (Real player) is not up to the mark. Nokia must get rid of Real Player asap.

Battery life is good (thanks to a low 24 bit 256k screen resolution). E71 has 16 million pixels which are very high (& eats battery life) as compared to E5 but the difference in quality is not visible.

Operating system (Symbian 9, V3) is excellent as always (better than so called Andriod, Linux, Bada etc.).

Good price.

Moral: E71 owners must switchover to E5. Don't fall in advertisement & traps of BlackBerry's & Apple's. These are worst phones in terms of phone features & value for money.

I have only just got this phone as I couldn't afford the E72 & didn't want the C3 as too cheap. Although the screen is small, it is fast & I especially like the communication log between me & my contacts. One thing I can't work out is how to get my contacts Facebook pages as their image on the home screen but not the end of the world.

Glad I got it over the BB & as I don't like touch screen phones this seems perfect. Early days mind.

Nokia E5 is simply awesome in usage & style. But the only drawback was no video calling facility.

I am being sent my 4th handset now from Orange! The problem I have had is that the phone just freezes & switches itself off within a minute of attempting to turn it on, & yes, I have also been sent a new battery! I am assured this time that the next handset will be particularly quality controlled & will have updated software, which suggests to me a known software issue. If this doesn't do the trick I will be having a new model.

Update to my first damming review, I know have my 3rd E5 in 8 weeks & the memory on this one still has 182MB free still despite contacts & text messages, what I have done this time is turn off the auto updates & this seems to have done the trick.

A great phone. Brilliant camera. Good keyboard. Excellent battery life. BUT there seems to be a big problem with the software. I have had 2 E5 in 3 weeks. Phone worked fine until it undated. The free memory went from 192MB to 12MB! The phone ground to a halt the email stopped working & it constantly got the message 'memory low delete or move some data from c phone memory' trouble is the update data goes into a file called 'other files' that you cannot access.

I returned my E5 to the phone shop & was given a new phone due to software problems.

The new E5 worked fine until it updated a week later. The same problem has occurred so I will be returning my E5 & demanding a different phone.

This Nokia E5 is good but have one major misleading advertisement. The Nokia E60 Symbian software did say that contact is unlimited by virtue of the software but not the memory. This device works on storage of only phone memory of contact. Unlike some other Nokia phones which allows you to store contact either on phone or memory card to save space of phone to prevent hanging. Nokia E5 does not allow you this option. Thus in short, if you have lots of contacts like I do with huge number of phones, emails, Facebook, MSN, different hp, etc per contact along with photo ID, contact reviews on notes, & lots of calendar entries. This phone memory is therefore limited by the size. Potentially I find that once a phones hardware is low of memory it has a higher potential of hanging.

Had this phone for a week & although I love it, the handbook is a little vague. Still trying to find out how to set the alarm! That said glad I chose this model. Would recommend to any avid Nokia owners.

Good look & design. Good user interface appearance. But no sense in the user interface usability. Made unnecessarily complicated! A simple e.g. Find out how to change 'am' to 'pm' in an alarm clock in 10 second. Another e.g. Try to change the choice of the Internet access point & see if it works the way you expect.

I have had this phone a week now & I really love it. It's easy to use & has got some great features.

I was fed up with touch screens as they seem to always go wrong with me so was deciding between this phone & the Blackberry. I am very glad I waited & got this phone!

It's got a good 5MP camera. The video camera on it is brilliant. The battery life is fantastic. First charge lasted me 4 & a half days. The sound on it is brilliant loud & clear. You can have up to 20 friend's icons on your main display screen & it shows the alls you've made to them & texts which is a great little feature.

It's not go loads of gadget type features but you can download applications & it has just got a bit more to it than a Blackberry.

Having gone from big screen phones I wasn't sure how I was going to find going back to a small screen but it doesn't bother me at all.

Overall very very happy with it & would definitely recommended it anyone.
