I only bought this phone today but have already had a terrible time! First the woman in the shop couldn't get it to read my SIM card, so had to go get me another, then when I got home I realised the red & green buttons don't work! So I can't even turn the phone on or off without out removing the battery!
Plus to make matters worse when texting it has switched itself off, for no reason. When putting the battery back in to switch it on, it asks for the time & date, & if you try & put it in, the phone freezes! I had to wait & go into the settings to set the date which is silly.
I will be swapping it for a new one tomorrow, the other good review on this site have made me think that it is a good phone & worth trying it again, fingers crossed!

When I can get the mobile to stay turned on, its fine, good screen, easy to use. Taking it back for repair after 2 days use because it keeps refusing to power up properly.

I bought my Nokia 7230 two days ago & I can honestly say that this is one of the best handsets of Nokia, at a very low price.
There is no other (I think) mobile phones at this price range offering 320 x 240 2.4' display & 3.2MP camera. The design is very elegant & in fact, does not look cheap considering its price.
The only thing missing is the LED flash but who cares? LED flashes don't actually help in low light conditions.
By the way, my mother wants her own 7230 also. Ha ha ha.

The main reason for buying the 7230 Nokia phone was to text & take pictures. This is what I told the 02 salesman. There was no mention by him that there is no flash, I discovered this a couple of weeks later when I wanted to take indoor photos.
I am not very happy with this phone now simply for that reason.

Excellent phone, software slightly different to other Nokia phones (e.g. 6303). Great slider, keypad is brilliant. The only downside I have is my service provider has not got the settings for the Internet yet, even though they sell it in their shops! Hopefully they should have it soon (O2). It does not hold a draft folder, but you can always save it in your notes section until you send it (copy & paste). It has no individual folders for text messages, just one called Archive. You can zoom in on the pictures & save them as well, which is really good.

Just brought this phone it came sim free paid £120 which isn't bad for a middle range phone its very much like the 6600 slide but fatter, camera is a 3.2 mp up to 16 gb memory card with 2MB with the phone package like this very much great colour as well it has all the usual Nokia features & is A PLUS for me.

Although only had the handset for a couple of weeks, I can't fault it. By this stage all my recent new phones have shown glitches or problems but I can honestly say that I haven't had one problem with this phone yet. Maybe this is because it is a step down or back from my others in terms of the toys & tricks (previously had Nokia 5330 & Sony Ericsson C902), but that was my principal reason for changing this time. I realised that basically all I wanted was a good looking phone which delivered good call quality, ease of use for texting & good battery life. The 7230 delivers on all of those levels. The feel of the phone is really good, feels sleek & solid & has a nice slide mechanism. What I really like is that you can read texts, view your calendar, call log etc without opening the phone up. The odd occasion I have used the Internet it has been fine for me, quite quick. Bluetooth connection to the headset is great & calls are really clear. It also comes with a memory card so there's plenty of room for photos & tunes. The camera is nothing special but more than adequate for snapping.

AS ONE OF the SLIGHTLY OLDER GENERATION & NOT VERY TECHNICAL I FOUND I JUST PICKED THIS PHONE UP & COULD FIND MY OWN WAY AROUND IT WITH SUCH EASE & WITHOUT the NEED TO ASK FOR HELP.
IT'S A SMART LOOKING PHONE WITH SUCH EASY APPLICATIONS. The LARGE SCREEN & LARGE TEXT ARE GREAT. ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T USED ALL the APPLICATIONS YET I AM STILL HAVING FUN WITH IT. I CAN recommend THIS PHONE.
