A simply stunning looking touch screen Smartphone which will get your attention on looks alone makes the Nokia 5228 an attractive handset choice. The 5228 has a solid bar shaped casing complete with a large high colour touch screen & it comes in truly fashion conscious colours. The 5228 is from the same Nokia range as the Nokia 5230 which are both beautifully designed touch screen phones with a range of user friendly features. The main features of the Nokia 5228 include its striking & attractively designed casing, plus it has a built in two megapixel camera, music player, Internet browser & it runs on a Symbian operating system.

Appearance & Size
The front section of the casing is available in either a white or black coloured finish & the back section is where the user can express their individuality as this section comes in an assortment of colours including red, silver, green, pink, black & bright blue. The 5228 is a Symbian Smartphone which comes with a version 9.4, series 60 operating system, plus this Smartphone has a discretely built in stylus which the user can use when making touch screen selections. There is a large viewing & input display, as the touch screen measures 3.2 inch when measured diagonally & it displays up to 16.7 million colours on this beautiful screen. Its touch screen design provides an on screen keyboard & keypad which will be displayed when necessary for the user's convenience when inputting numeric or alphabetic text. It measures 11.1cm tall, 5.17cm wide by 1.55cm deep & it weighs 115 grams with its fitted stylus & rechargeable battery. The Nokia 5228 has a solid feel casing complete with a subtly curved designed body which makes it easy to hold & carry. This Smartphone is made using high quality materials which feel good to hold in the hand & gives the handset a luxurious & high quality feel.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
Gaming entertainment is a lively & fun experience on the 5228 as this Smartphone supports Java™ games & easy to use touch screen controls, plus it comes with a preloaded game to get the user started which is the popular Roller Coaster game. A built in two megapixel camera comes with many features which include a CMOS sensor, 3 x digital zoom & a variety of capture settings. This camera feature also supports video recording capabilities which allow the user to record video footage at up to thirty frames per second complete with a video zoom feature. The user can enjoy music on the move on either the built in music player or by using the radio feature complete with FM tuning. When the user is using the integrated music player they can enjoy easy to use touch screen music controls, volume controls & the phone has integrated speakers for an out loud music experience. A fully charged battery will provide the user with approximately thirty three hours of music playback time. When playing videos on the Nokia 5228 the user can gain approximately three hours of playback time from a fully charged battery & the user can view videos in MPEG4 & 3GP format.

Communication & Messaging
A conference call feature allows the user to communicate on one call with up to six contacts per call, which works like a meeting type conversation & is ideal for making arrangements. Another useful call feature is the speaker phone feature, as this allows the user to hear their contact over the phones speakers, plus leaving the user hands free to continue with other important tasks as the handset does not need to be held to the user's ear whilst on a call. The Nokia 5228 has a flight mode setting which will disable the phones transmitters so therefore the user can use a selection of their phones features whilst on a flight or in other mobile phone restricted areas such as in a hospital. When communicating with others the variety of messaging services allow the user of the 5228 to create & send a message to suit their communication requirements. This Smartphone supports an audio messaging service, mobile email service, text message service as well as a multimedia messaging service allowing the user to share media files with others in an instant. The Nokia 5228 comes with many useful day to day features which include a built in calendar feature with a weekly or monthly view, a clock feature which can be viewed in digital or analogue format & a built in alarm clock to get the user out of bed each day.

The user can connect to other mobile phones, laptops, computers, printers etc to transfer data between the Nokia 5228 & the connected devices, using either a Bluetooth® wireless connection or a micro USB cabled connection. Its EDGE & GPRS technology allow the user to experience fast speed transfer rates when transferring data between devices. The Internet browser comes with a Nokia mobile search facility & the user can enjoy RSS feeds onto their new Smartphone. There is seventy megabytes of built in memory plus the handset supports external memory in the form of a MicroSD™ memory card, & this Smartphone can hold up to sixteen gigabytes of external memory. Its rechargeable battery will provide approximately 10.7 hours of talk time or up to 455 hours of battery standby time from a fully charged battery depending on the other phone features being used during this time. The stunning touch screen supports a handwriting recognition input feature allowing the user to use the stylus or fingertip to create an alphabetic character on the touch screen which will be recognised using this handwriting feature. The 5228 works over quad band GSM networks which will automatically switch between network bands to provide the appropriate network connectivity.

This is a cracking little phone for under £50. Stick a fair size memory card in it & you won't need to cart about a MP3 player & use any of your tunes as a ringtone.
