Only got the phone a few days ago & I consider it one of the best I have ever had.
I had it as a replacement for the E51 that I foolishly left in the Green Flag recovery truck. I wouldn't have rushed to replace the E51, but decided to look around before having another, & decided to have the 3720 classic. It is ideal for anyone who works outdoors occasionally, but also works indoors & in a professional environment & that is exactly what I do!
The phone has a very good battery, nearly as good as the 6310i, & has an easy to see or use keypad, torch that isn't just a gimmick, Bluetooth, Camera, & I am already bonding with it & finding the features easy to discover & where they need to be. The Box supplied does NOT include software on CD, the Media software is NOT on Nokia's website & does NOT include the necessary USB download lead (I got one from a market stall for £5) & the USB download is a different size from the USB download of the E51. I have tried most features, but so far have only been able to load onto or off my computer using Bluetooth BUT the Bluetooth method of doing this seems to perform better than the E51 did. May even perform that well that USB data cable is not too necessary.
Haven't tried anything too wet or likely to damage yet, but will report again when that inevitably happens. According to the reviews & website it is rugged & IP54 standard capable of withstanding dust, vapour etc, & I am sure that it will have mass appeal for the Surveyor, Civil Engineer & Architect sector.
Overall it has more positives than negatives.
Positives.
- Looks good.
- Easy to use.
- Good battery life.
- Seems easy for those at other end of the line to hear.
- Ideal size.
- Not too big or too small.
- Exceptional value for the price if bought out of plan.
Negatives.
- Operational memory is 20MB, & business operators will find this a limitation, some downloaded items cannot be put onto memory card.
- No light or symbol to indicate received text or missed call.
- Software not yet on Nokia website in MAC format.
- Seems penny pinching to omit the USB lead & software.
Overall a winner, should have been added to product range years ago!

I've had the 3720 classic for three months now, & I am pretty much satisfied with it. I would have preferred a design similar to the 5100 & 5140 since this is a rugged phone, but this phone's understated look is growing on me. The keys are very easy to use, not stiff at all like previous rugged phones. The screen is gorgeous with vivid colours, & it has all the features you could want in a non-Smartphone. I do miss 3G though, since I like browsing with the Opera Mini. In fact, I am typing this review on the 3720 classic! The camera works reasonably well in well lit conditions, but does poorly in dim environments. Good thing the flash helps a little bit. The flash also doubles as a flashlight, a staple feature of Nokia's previous rugged phones. The built is sturdy enough with the hard matt plastic & rubber linings to warrant the rugged label, but the camera lens is unprotected.
All in all, a great tough handset that's surprisingly affordable.
