Our Nokia 2720 Fold Review

The 2720 Fold is a fold opening designed handset which comes with easy to use communication feature & has been designed by Nokia. This mobile phone has a graceful appearance due to its external hidden screen which glows when in use. The handset is available in two colour options which include a deep red colour & a black colour finish. The fold action opening mechanism on the Nokia 2720 Fold is similar in design to the casing of other Nokia phones including the Nokia 3610 Fold & the Nokia 6600 Fold. Its casing weighs just over ninety grams including the fitted rechargeable battery which gives the handset a solid & sturdy feel. The Nokia 2720 Fold has a short but deeper style casing due to its fold open design which measures 93mm long by 46mm wide by 17.85mm deep. Its external screen has a hidden black & white display which will be displayed when the handset is in use or when a new call or message needs to be alerted to the user. This external screen is approximately 1.36 Inches in size & makes a beautiful design feature as well as a useful external display. The 2720 Fold comes with a larger internal screen which has a high colour display with a beautifully clear screen resolution which is ideal when the user is viewing photos & video clips. The internal screen has a screen resolution of 128 pixels by 160 pixels.

Well, I simply can't get the back off of this phone, have the manual, followed the directions, asked for help from others in the household. We just can't get it off.

Like several others I had a smart phone but this little Nokia does the job of just being a Phone much better, good value & good features but feels a bit flimsy.

However its so much better to use than touch screens.

Overall I think that Nokia 2720 is an excellent phone for someone who doesn't want to complicate his/her life with Smartphone's or touch screen mobiles.

For the price this is a great phone, it does what I want which is to be able to make & receive calls & text messages. The keys are easy to use & the battery life is great.

If you want all the other gizmos & gadgets buy a more expensive phone!

Firstly disappointed it had no USB lead, manual useless, no software with it, found free Nokia PC suite & the Bluetooth works fantastic, uploaded my old address book easily, how stupid not to give it, only fault needs more memory.

It took me a couple of months to get Bluetooth to work, neither O2 or Nokia could help. Eventually found a web forum that suggested setting Bluetooth security to High, which did the trick. Then came the shock. I tried to download a 30 minute play onto the phone & ran out of space. Checked & after the OS & installed apps there was only about 12Mb left, then the installed ringtones took another 3Mb, leaving 9Mb for my photos & MP3 files. At roughly 1Mb per minute that means I can store 9 minutes of music, provided I do not store any photos. The phone will not accept additional memory so whilst theoretically it has music player capability this is effectively impossible due to the lack of memory. Considering Amazon sell 1Gb mini SD cards for 99p one would have thought that a few Gb of memory could have gone into this phone at little extra cost.

Nokia would be more honest if they removed the music capability of this phone, but more sensible if they put a couple of Gb in it at the factory.

Good looking phone & easy to use. Is good for the price of it.

I've dropped it a million times & it hasn't broken yet, although the back cover & battery will always pop out & you then have to reset the date & time.

Simple phone so don't expect too much from it. Very poor memory & not a very good camera on it.

Has an outstanding battery life.

A breath of fresh air is what it feels like to have a Nokia 2720, I have had more than my fair share of so called Smartphone's loaded with features that you would seldom use & are battery killers. The 2720 looks the part & is very easy to set up it does what a phone is designed to do i.e. make & receive calls & text, the sound quality is excellent & the keyboard is a breeze the clarity on the screen is first class battery time is superb & for the price it is very hard to beat No more high faulting phones for me.

After having several hi spec phones fail on me in recent times I decided to get a cheaper one. This one looks great is durable & does what I want it to without breaking.

The only gripe I have is that if it's dropped even slightly the back cover & battery pop out & then you have to reset the time date etc.

Other than that it's a great phone.

Buyer beware, nice looking but disgusted as the cover display packed in on day one, took it back to Carphone Warehouse who said it was impact damage! All I'd done was take it out the box & put my SIM in, it seems the pressure required to push & slide the back off is sufficient to wreck the cover screen!

Nice design but a pig to work with. Only compatible with Bluetooth, is unable to automatically download settings so they have to be individually configured & after 3 months has suddenly decided it cannot send texts any more. No doubt if I rang the helpline at huge expense they would manually reconfigure it for me but I have lost patience & as soon as I have used up the credit on it, it will be going into the bin & I will get something easier to use. Shame, because it is robust & has some good points.

I am really impressed with this phone. It looks great, feels like its high quality. As you'd expect with a Nokia, it's really straightforward to use. Because it's a flip phone, there is more room on the keypad for larger keys which are much easier to operate. The volume is easily loud enough, & there is a good choice of ring tones. Even the web browser seems to work well, & quite quickly too.

On the down side, the camera is not great, & there's no memory card. So if you're going to take lots of photos with your phone, buy something else.

But if you want a good looking high quality (& low priced) phone that does everything you really need, you won't be disappointed.

First off all if anybody buys a phone you research the thing first, it's no good moaning that there is no external memory after you bought it. The fact is it only supports Bluetooth which is all I require, so anyone who wants to use a USB cable, don't buy this phone. It's a good easy to use phone, good looking with a battery that lasts. OK the tunes are not brilliant but you can down load your own. I heard some people complain that they can't hear the other person very well, just make sure your ear is over the speaker & all is well. For a low budget phone it ticks all the right boxes.

I have recently bought this superb folding Nokia. Wow what a phone. My previous phone a touch screen 3G pales into insignificance compared to this £29 beauty. I love it!

I have recently bought this phone, & I must say what a great little phone it is.

The battery life is excellent, it lasts me a whole week, unlike my old Nokia that needed charging every day!

Good volume, & the font size for texting can be changed to large, which is great for those people that find reading & writing text difficult.

The keypad is large & the keys are individual which makes texting easy.

I am well pleased with my phone, & would recommend it to anyone.

A very sleek phone, the look is definitely there. A couple of things I would change. The music playing function is very much geared towards an MP3 player & unlike my last phone (a Nokia 6080) you couldn't stop it playing just by coming out of the menu. It's not geared as much for just browsing through ringtones etc.

The other main problem I've been having is with connecting to other devices. This phone supports only Bluetooth, which for someone who has only used infra red up till now the change is very sudden & takes a lot of getting used to. Other than that, Nokia have definitely improved the look & feel of their OS, it's still easy to find your way around it & the camera has been greatly improved from some of the earlier camera phones & certainly my last phone. I don't think much of the new Nokia Tune though!
