Bought one today, so just first impressions. Neat & compact, & as some have said already It's a mobile telephone. That's all my adult wife wants it for occasional use as a PAYG telephone while she's out (instead of living with it permanently attached to her ear, texting constantly & exchanging pictures with school friends). If you want more capability (pointless ringtones, hours of music, dozens of quality photographs) buy something bigger & better (or an iPod & camera) instead of twittering.

Big advantage for us is that it's tri band, so it will also work in the USA where we spend a lot of time. Lack of Bluetooth & other capabilities are clearly described on websites, in shops & on the box. They weren't needed by her anyway, as my quad-band RAZR V3i has all that.

So, It's a small, neat, easily set-up mobile phone, which I think is was it was intended to be. One day we might discover a need to text (instead of talking to people) but by then we'll probably have arthritic fingers. The rest of it (like ringtones & music) is for the kiddies. Tomorrow I'll have another attempt at getting USB connection to do something, it was instantaneous & easy with my RAZR, but the W375 doesn't seem to be intended for that.

DO NOT BUY! I bought this phone a year ago & it is awful. It has broken twice & takes about a year to load up! It also has about three hours battery only when you have owned it for a while (this is after it is charged up) I am now replacing it but if you are think of buying it don't waste your money! The camera is OK but there are hardly any other features. I don't think it was worth my money! Definitely buy something better!

Let me tell you folks! This phone is a catastrophe. It's awful! It has a mind of its own!

To start with it just randomly goes to fully charged to dead! I would make a simple trip to walmart & find myself sitting in the game room stealing walmarts electricity, charging my phone! I hate this phone! How do they call it wireless if you have to leave it in the wall jack 24 7? Grrrrr! I am just pre warning you. Don't get unless you're always going to be by a wall jack or leave it off! LOL.

Pros. Moderately stylish budget phone

Cons. Worst thing about it is the battery life, even after a full discharge & recharge cycle the battery only ever lasted a max of 48hrs on standby. Make or receive a few calls, & it needs to be recharged every night. Not enough memory for use as an MP3 player, or taking more than a handful of pictures. Battery cover falls off very easily.

After just dropping my Nokia E61i & knocking the display, I decided using expensive phones in my job is just not worth it. I also own a new IPHONE & after dropping the Nokia E61i I went looking for a phone with 2 purposes.

First it needed to be a clamshell to fit in my pocket. Second, it would be used for phone & text messaging only & the phone had to have enough volume to hear it in noisy areas. Get a new IPOD Nano if you want a serious MP3 Player!

For these two purposes I think it does an excellent job. For a regular mobile phone to store & call your contacts, this does just fine & has excellent sound quality & volume.

Granted people, this is a cheap costing phone & you think from all the people complaining though they would get IPHONE functionality & features at this price. Wrong!

But you get a good daily user phone that is very clear & loud & will fit in your pocket. If this thing falls & breaks I won't shed one tear. Just go get another.

The IPHONE will stay at home unless I go somewhere that I won't be tempted to drop it due to being busy with work. I think I would cry if I dropped my IPHONE.

Bottom line is if you need a solid mobile for daily calls & text, this has clear & loud volume. This phone can store all my contacts, speed dial, & phone features that you can use. I would not recommend this for MP3 or multimedia.

As a daily use phone for calls, I would highly recommend it because of the volume & sound clarity.

It's a good phone. I don't really care about Bluetooth or video. I must vent about when it says MP3 player on the packaging I wish it would have said seriously rubbish MP3 player (cause that's what it is). I have an iPod by the way. I am fine with texting, calling, photos & USB connection, but I wish it had more memory. Oh well, I am getting an iPhone when they come out in Aus.

Hmm, a few months into using this phone & I am already on the lookout for another, which is hardly economical.

I am not the kind of person who changes her phone with the weather, & unlike some of the reviewers here I did my research before buying. Amazingly enough, the spec said that it didn't have MP3, Bluetooth & whatnot. (Surprising what you learn if you bother to look, isn't it? )

Anyway, the point is that I wanted a phone just for texting & calling internationally.

I can credit the speakerphone with being clear & easy to use. Texting, however, is a nightmare. It takes forever to send a simple message. T9 is a total pain, the screen can't keep up with the input, neither does it register input properly. Also, the, do you want to do this? Messages every time you try to do something within that menu are irritating.

The typeface that Motorola uses looks teenage & useless picture messages, games & avatars waste memory, open the flip & the screen looks like a kid's phone.

I am not buying another Motorola. I went from a Sony Ericsson to Motorola because I wanted a reasonably priced clamshell & am regretting it. I miss not being able to screen calls without opening the flip, that little window on the front of the phone is really handy, especially on the move. Oh well, lesson learned.

This phone is cheap & looks smart, but overall I wouldnt recommend it.

Problems are.

- It takes an AGE to turn on & off.
- The USB charging cable didn't work from my PC so have to use mains.
- When charging, it automatically switches to loud mode. If in the office & you forget about this it can be embarrassing.
- The key response time has a lag, this is a major usability issue. When making fast selections & writing SMS it can get lagged behind what you are pressing. Very annoying.
- The menu organisation is not intuitive. For example, I never know where to go to change the phone wallpaper or ringtone.
- The built in camera is as good as useless, quality wise.
- It's easy to accidentally lower the ring volume using the side keys so when it rings you can't hear it.
- The back cover is barely held on by a small clip & keeps coming off in my pocket.
- Button functions have no consistency. Sometimes the central button is to select or OK, sometimes it's to view options.
- The nav wheel is too small so I always select the wrong option.
- When writing SMS, it took me ages to figure out how to type '0' as its on the 1 key rather than the 0 key for no reason!

I am a usability consultant so I know this could be a lot easier to use!

OK so I got the phone a week ago was very excited to be getting it. I am so disappointed in the storage I have added 3 pictures from my partners phone into my additional storage & now I can't add more cause I don't have enough room, that's 3 pictures I have on my phone & they aren't massive pictures! As for the USB computer transfer thing what a waste of time I plugged it in & it showed as working but the pictures I put to transfer never worked so it's hard to work it all out I thought I was doing it right dragged pictures to the area it showed on their website. It's a lovely phone basic & looks great messages are easy but no fancy pictures to add on like Nokia etc do I am a little disappointed by it just mainly this lack of storage!

I am satisfied with the phone, basic features but I do not need more, but the bad point is the battery life.

Its battery life is very short & far away from Motorola specifications. I had bought 3 phones for my wife, my kid & me, I made a recycle of all 3 batteries, full empty full charge & in standby mode, one reaches 5 days (about 120 Hs), the second 3 days (about 72 Hs), & the last only one day (about 32 Hs), very far away from the 250 hours from Motorola specifications.

I think this phone is very stylish but I think it would be better if it had Bluetooth MP3 player voice recorder & able to get real ringtones. But it is easy to use for phone calls & & massaging & pretty cheap for $99 but my old pretty & pink phone had more features then what this one has & it was the same price $99 but as I say it is easy to use if you only won't it for calling & texting & if you do get it get pink it rocks.

I have never reviewed anything online in my life, but, after months of complete frustration with this phone, I had to vent somewhere. The W375 was given to me as a gift, & at first I thought pretty design, clear & simple to use & more features than my old & rubbish phone great. How wrong I was.

When I first tried to compose a text message, I was horrified. The screen takes so long to catch up with your typing you'll be into the next word before its finished copying up the first. If you're a prolific texter, do not buy this model. I have hundreds of unused free text messages every month, messages I can't even be bothered to write because of the hassle of typing. The keypad is clunky, it is easy to press the wrong key. This seems to be a common problem.

The camera, as reported by others, is pretty good. However, sending & receiving picture messages seems to be something the phone dislikes. Some mayflies have a chance of outliving the battery life on this model, & the choice of ringtones is painful. The free memory is also a joke, with a proportion being taken up by non removable games & rubbish animated picture messages.

I had a look at the other reviews here, & they are pretty mixed, making me wonder if I am missing something. My advice though, is that if you want to keep your sanity, get another type of phone. Motorola are obviously heavily involved with the manufacturers of antipsychotics.

This is the best basic model phone. I got this phone for 3000 Rs, which is equal to 75 dollars.

Good FM radio & Good VGA Camera.

If you compare this phone with other phones in the Market then with this quality & features. This is the best model.

With the same features you have many models which are at least 25 dollars more.

If you looking for a basic model with all Features then this is your mobile.

Of course. You get things for what you pay.

I picked this up for £25 & for the money, it's a great deal.

It has no Bluetooth, but it does have a USB interface (the charger also goes into the same mini-USB port on the phone) so you can upload the few photos your phone can store to your PC regularly to free up space, it only takes seconds.

While connected to your computer, you can transfer your favorite images (even gif animations up to 100kb) & apply them as your wallpaper &/or screen saver, the results are far more impressive than using photos you have taken on the camera, with strong, bright colours that show off the screen to it's full potential. & you can also transfer MP3 files from your PC to the phone to use as ringtones. The phone's speaker is pretty powerful & realtones you transfer yourself sounds really good as ringtones. Obviously with only 500kb of memory to play with, you'll need to keep the file size as tiny as you can for these, so use a sound editor to cut the song down to the best 20-30 seconds & save it as a mono 40kbps MP3 (higher bitrates won't sound any better). Using that method, you can have 3 or 4 MP3 ringtones on there at once (so long as you're not using any memory for anything else! )

That's the biggest issue with this handset - the tiny memory. The games are pretty poor & it's a shame you can't lose these (& some of the pre-loaded images) to free up much needed space. You can charge your phone by using the supplied USB lead, but you need to go to the Motorola website to get the driver to make the USB charge work. Why they couldn't include it on a disk or even on the phone's internal memory I don't really know. Other phones don't need drivers to charge through the USB, which means they can plug in & charge to any PC if they don't have their charger with them. With the W375 if you want to charge away from your home PC, you'll have to ask permission to install the driver to get it charging & it's not a quick & easy job.

There are some comments about this handset being slow, in text entry mode it can seem to be, but if you keep pressing buttons quickly the display does catch up, it doesn't lose any characters as you're typing.

For call quality, the phone is superb. It's pretty easy to use. It has GPRS for Internet, although the browser is pretty old & basic & doesn't do Java or frames, it's handy to be able to check emails, travel info, maps & directions when you're on the move.

Do NOT buy this phone for MP3 playback, or to take lots of high resolution photos. The memory is tiny, non-expandable & won't allow for this. & the camera is only VGA quality.

But I have a decent camera, & a decent MP3 player, so while some extra storage space would be nice, for £25 I really can't complain. My last phone was a Samsung X640, cost £80 & didn't do as much as the W375.

This phone is quite good. But if you are looking for a phone that will impress your mates this isn't the phone for you. It is annoying that it doesn't have Bluetooth but it's good for someone who just wants a phone for calling or texting.

I would recommend this phone for people who are not that bothered with the latest technology.

Easy little phone, texting is fine, but it's incredibly annoying that I cannot download music! I still go to school & I like listening to music, but because the memory is so small, you can't out any on, I suppose you do have the radio, & that's good too.

I recommend this phone to those people who use it for a phone, not a music device. Design is great. Pink!

I never thought myself ever thinking of getting a phone quite like this. I have always been into my gadgetry things but I have to say that this phone looks amazing.

I don't have the phone myself yet but will do after Christmas.

It looks great & does everything I want it to do & more such as camera & FM radio!

People complaining that there is no MP3 should get a life, what do you expect, not every phone has to have an MP3 player.

Phones need to be simple & I think this phone is. I can't wait to buy it in a few days & look forward to using it

The only downside I have found is that when you text fast, or press the keys very quickly, it can sometimes lag a little, but apart from that, it's great! A PHONE IS A PHONE NOT A IPOD, NOT A CAMERA & IF ALL YOU DO ALL DAY IS SIT AROUND & WONDER WHAT ELSE IT COULD DO JUST SO YOU CAN TELL EVERYONE HOW RUBBISH IT IS THEN, GET A LIFE.

IF YOU HATE IT SO MUCH THEN INVENT A PHONE THAT DOES EVEYTHING YOU WANT IT & SEE IF YOU GET ANYWHERE, UNLIKELY.

SO BUY THIS PHONE IF YOU'RE LIKE ME & JUST WANT A PHONE THAT YOU CAN RING & TEXT PEOPLE WITH. IT'S A GOOD PHONE & ITS NOT RUBBISH & MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO LIKE CALLING IT.

This is a really nice phone with a great design. I find no problems with taking pictures, texting or the battery life. This phone does all of that really well & for people complaining about not being able to put 1000 songs on a phone, buy an iPod (that's what there for). I have already downloaded several ringtones & have had no problems. I was actually surprised with the clarity of the pictures, even though it can't hold a ton, it's still really useful. I would definitely recommend buying this phone if you're thinking about it.

It has not got any toys (no Bluetooth, video, a megapixel camera), but what do you expect. If you want to listen to music buy an iPod or if you want to take pictures buy a camera, it makes sense! The camera is perfectly adequate & whoever said it was hard to text with was completely wrong. I love this phone & I am glad I gave my Nokia 6230 away because I love this phone. I was looking for some constructive reviews to help me choose a new phone, things like, is it reliable? & how easy is it to use. Most of what I've found here is a whinge at what this phone hasn't got. I am just looking for a phone to make phone calls on, texting is great, anything else is a Brucie Bonus & if I were looking for something that is an MP3 player, video camera, cooking utensil & teleportation device, I would look at a model with those features, which, incidentally, I would expect to pay a lot more for.

I am not really hot up on these things, but when Motorola's marketing splurge says MP3 Ringtones, it means MP3 ringtones, not polyphonic ringtones, not monophonic ringtones & certainly not a repository for your music collection. MP3 Ringtones, you know those short loops of music that have been compressed like mad that come with the phone? They are not three of four minute tracks from an album at max quality.

Right then, here's the deal. I've noticed from earlier posts that people are complaining over the lack of features, MP3 player, camera etc. Well, if you want an MP3 player, buy an iPod. If you want a camera, buy a digital camera. Simple! Also people are complaining about the reason they bought it not being justified by the product. Well, how's about you open your eyes, if it doesn't say Bluetooth, guess what, it doesn't have Bluetooth. If it doesn't say video, it doesn't have video. How obvious, there's one person who bought it for the MP3 player, what? Why do that, seriously? Also, this is a phone, people, a phone, the clue is in the name. Does your home phone have a video camera? No. Does your home phone have a MP3 player? No. These things which 'make' a phone are actually just add-ons, has no-one noticed? It really annoys me how people bad-mouth a PHONE for not having Bluetooth.

This beautiful phone cuts down on price by removing useless features found in other phones. If you want a phone with a good camera, music player & Bluetooth, look somewhere else. If you want to make calls & text, then you can't get much better than this, especially not at just £30. Also the speaker phone is clear for you but whoever you are talking to can pretty much only hear static. If you want a phone to just get & receive calls & SMS it'll do but if you want all the fun things get another phone because this things a piece of rubbish I have only had it for 2 days but I am going to buy another phone. Got it two days ago, not the most qualified person to enter a close & final review, buy at least, here's my two cents. Features: At least this mobile is quite cheap in Argentina compared to others with similar features, so come on. Don`t expect much more than this. OK with tiny memory, if a phone carries a camera & stores pictures & audio files memory should be at least 100 % bigger. I guess we all agree that this set is beautifully designed. My only complaint is that screen comes almost totally pale when using the phone outdoors on a sunny day. One said that processor is slow. It Is! Memory almost empty & this device takes 30 seconds to be ready for use when turning on. But anyway, my latest mobile phone was a Nokia 1100, so I love my Moto.

Nice looking clamshell, but doesn't please the eye when open (may be the reason why I didn't find open images on the Internet before I buy). Memory is too low, 1.5, you can only take 10 pictures from the camera (640x480) & also the user memory is only 500 KB. (Seems like old days of PC 8086 machines).

Battery Backup is for only one day on average use (7 / 8 calls each of 5 min) & not more than 4 days without any use at all. The cost is more as compared to the features it offer. A great loss!
