Motorola V980 3G Phone Review

The Motorola V980 has a very stylish feel & comes in a very sleek black package. The V980 looks similar to the Motorola V1050 which is a slightly higher specification phone but they are both distributed through Vodaphone. The V980 has an integrated digital VGA camera which comes with a 4 x digital zoom & light. The Motorola V980 can take video recordings that can be played back on an enhanced 65k colour screen. The user can have a two way video conference which gives a more personal approach to the standard telephone conversation.

The sound quality is very high on the V980 which make the MP3 player , MP3 ringtones, polyphonic & monophonic ringtones sound extremely good. The user can download ringtones, themes, wallpaper & screensavers from the Internet. The J2ME™ games are included on the V980 but the Motorola TransFlash™ memory makes space for many more downloadable games.

The Motorola V980 comes with great USB connectivity & has the power of 3G technology & UMTS. 3G technology makes it possible to talk to a caller, whilst accessing the web & sending files all at the same time. The phone has tri band technology (GSM 900, 1800, 1900) & WCDMA networks.

The V980 comes with some great messaging features which include email, text messaging, enhanced messaging & picture messaging which allows the user to add text & sound to a picture message.

The Motorola V980 is at the top end of the middle of the market phones & it has very good features & the power of 3G technology.

This phone was naff! I had it for about a year. It was huge & weighted a ton! It wasn't even big & beautiful, just big! The battery would last a day, I'd have to charge it every single night or it would be dead the next day.

The features weren't that great, the camera was simple with very little changeable settings. It didn't have Bluetooth or infra-red so there was no way to send or receive pictures or music or anything without sending it via text message.

The phone was easy to use however. Probably because it had no or very few features or settings to get lost on.

I'd recommend the phone to my grandma, it's as slow as her, it won't destroy the street creed she doesn't have, & it's so simple she could probably work it too.

I love this phone. I have had it for over a year & I can not part with it. After a year & a half the phone has only just started to make a clicking noise when flipped up, which is quite an achievement, if you ask me. There is an extensive range of pictures & screensavers that come with the phone & you can take your own pictures & videos too. The video capture lasts for 3 minutes - which is good. This has to be way up there with the 3G phones. It so funky, stylish & I'd give it 9/10 as there are always improvements to be made on any phone.

The reason I have chose the lowest possible score I could is because I am absolutely fuming as I have spent all that money on a new fone I was so looking forward to getting it & it won't even switch on!!!

Motorola V980 is quite good-looking phone with lots of interesting & manageable features. But the battery is for real awful because it ceases very quickly & hence creates additional job. Had the battery could go a bit longer, say fore example 72 hours, the phone would be absolutely perfect. Otherwise, I recommend it to everyone else.

Good phone with lots of features including 3G & a decent camera however it does not have bluetooth or infrared but it does come with a usb cable. The phone was good for me as my first major phone as it was £150 when I bought it & overall it is a very good phone.

Not impressed at all with this phone. Every call whether incoming or outgoing gets cut off after about 7 minutes. On my third replacement & same problem with them all. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This is a fab phone I think Motorola have surpassed themselves with this one, really hip. Im having great fun using the facilities of the MMS function which allows you to send sounds, pictures, animations & formatted text in your message. These can then be passed on to friends & family. There is plenty of memory for storage but if you require more you can always purchase a T-Flash Card so that you can store even more ringtones. For what you get in this mobile it is well worth the asking price.

Powered with 3G Technology. It's looks are up there with the best of them on the market. This model will catapulted you into the future. It works well in many countries including Europe, the US & Canada. If you are like me & accumulate a lot of air miles traveling to the US then this is the phone for you.

Please be aware that I can't send picture messages, which is most probably a network issue. Credit where credit is due, it is compact, looks nice & is easy to use but the battery is awful.

I brought two V980's one for each for my children as I think they are up to date enough, look funky enough & are very competitively priced. So far they seem very happy with them as I have not heard any moaning. I liked the camera facility on these phones, I am a Motorola user myself.

I wanted a phone that could keep me in touch with my friends & family. When I purchased this phone I did not realise that it wouldn't have Bluetooth or infra red, no ones fault but my own! Apart from that I would still recommend it.

It's not a bad looking phone but I wish the screen was a little bigger. It comes with a nice camera & video recorder, which are both very simple to use & all in all a good mobile phone. At the start I was having a few problems with the battery, but when I changed it, the replacement worked brilliantly. It comes with USB connectivity & has the power of 3G technology. Having 3G technology makes it possible to talk to a someone, while accessing the web & sending files all at the same time, a must have bit of equipment.

I have had nightmares with this phone as it cuts out more often than not when your in conversation. The battery runs down so quickly, you seem to always be charging it up. I am wondering if it is just my particular phone???
