Motorola V635 Review

The Motorola V635 is a dual screen clam shell mobile phone which comes with a black & silver casing. The V635 has a very curvaceous & compact feel to it especially the layout of the internal keys as they are extremely smooth & very easy to use. The V635 is similar to the Motorola V600 & Motorola V620, but the features on these mobile phone differ. The V635 is totally focused on its great imaging features which include a very impressive 1.2 megapixel camera complete with 8 x digital zoom & easy to use video recording feature. The excellent sound & very bright & clear 262k colour TFT screen really add to the quality of photos & video recording.

The built in MP3 player offers the user many hours of fun & it is possible for the user to downloaded their favourite music from the Internet. The V635 comes with MOTOMIXER™ feature which is a piece of remixable midi ringer software that allows the user to create their unique ringtones.

The Motorola V635 makes messaging easy with text messaging (SMS), picture, text & sound messaging (MMS), enhanced messaging (EMS), quick message, email & text messaging to groups. The V635 also comes complete with a picture phone book which displays a photo of the contact instead of displaying a telephone number. The voice activated dialing is very easy to use all the user needs to do is to say the contacts name & the phone will automatically dial the telephone number.

The V635 includes Bluetooth® wireless technology which allows this phone to have high speed wireless access to any other Bluetooth devise.

Fits comfortable in hand, keypad has a nice feel, easy navigation, decent camera.

I haven't had any problems with calls.

I have had to replace the battery after about a year & a half. The battery seemed to have become bloated & was pushing against the door, therefore, making the cover fall off every now & then.

The antennae didn't bother me at first, but when I started paying more attention to it, the more unsightly it became.

This phone is also a bit heavy. The material of it feels & is durable.

One thing I don't like is having to remove the faceplate in order to put in a microSD. It's very frustrating.

This phone is very easy to use. I would recommend it for a first phone. I love the design it's so classy & stylish & the inner & outer screens are colourful & bright with easy visibility at night but not so great at day.

If found it quick & easy to form functions such as taking a picture, recording, making calls & sending texts messages. The sound is excellent but I have still yet to use the MP3 player due to the amount of time it takes to start up even without any songs on it, plus the memory isn't great so you would have to buy at least a GB of memory. Although the camera seemed good at first 1.32 GB isn't much compared to the latest models around now so I barely us it.

I have had this phone for a few years now & am starting to get bored with the features & I think its time to sell it & move onto a more complex model from a different range.

It is a good mobile if you can hear the ringer. I had a replacement for low ringer fault as it was under warranty but the ringer has gone faulty again & I can't find anyone who can supply a replacement ringer?

These phones are very faulty, I have had to get in touch with the manufacturer at least 4 times to get replacements as every single one they sent me had faults. It is very slow, crashes a lot & has hardly any memory. It boasts its high quality MP3 player, but with the little amount of memory on the phone it crashes when just one song stored onto it! I recommend you don't buy this phone!

When I first saw this phone I liked it, it didn't look to bad & I wanted a change from Nokia. I have had it for nearly a year now & I've had so many problems with it. It does not charge very well so you end up having to unplug it & keep trying over & over again, which is very frustrating if u are low on battery & in a hurry to get somewhere. It also freezes quite a lot & is slow at responding, texting takes for ever. There is not a lot of memory because of all the videos & ringtones that come with the phone (if some one knows how to delete them please let me know.) the signal is awful & trying to here people on the phone is a struggle. But other then that it's not too bad.

Great features but wholly undependable. It tends to crash in the middle of calls, & the battery seems to deplete even when connected to the charger, generally needing 10 minutes before being able to handle a phone call. It has a nice-looking design but is rather bulky & heavy & scratches very easily. I'm glad to be upgrading to an SE.

I've had 3 of these over the last 12 months. First one went faulty after 6 months, ring went so quiet you couldn't hear it. Its replacement had a faulty battery when it arrived. With a new battery the replacement lasted 5 months before developing the same quiet ring fault. The third one lasted about 2 weeks before it went faulty, wouldn't charge. It seems quality & reliability aren't Motorola's strong points. Wouldn't have another Motorola phone if they paid me.

Terrible problems with calls cutting off. Motorola service was terrible & I was left for over a month without the phone while they twice returned it to me without fixing it. Eventually had to write to the chief exec of Motorola UK to get a new one out of them. Be very hesitant about wasting your own money on this phone!

One problem, every now & again, the signal on the phone just decides to disappear even when the network signal is 5 bars. Overall a nice phone but unreliable.

This phone is an excellent telephone. The features are wonderful. My only regret is that the MP3 memory is small & I think the phone should have a am-fm radio.

This clamshell designed phone, has a quite heavy design. It's one of the best specified phones on the market at the moment. It feels comfortable to handle & if you happen to drop it theres more chance it will not fall to bits. Works well no problems to date

I waited in anticipation for the V635 to come on the market, overall it's not a bad phone. But there are some things that could be improved, the predictive text is very annoying if it doesn't know a word & it is hard to change compared to my previous phones. Photo quality also leaves something to be desired.

This is a very good phone, well done Motorola. It has a great clamshell design & is simply a fantastic piece of technical engineering. The sounds of the ringtones are very good, as I can hear it even when it is at the bottom of my bag under all my girlie stuff. The megapixel camera is great quality & with all the different settings you can create some very interesting images. It comes with lots of memory & is easily connected to Bluetooth. Worth every penny, you wont be disappointed.
