Motorola V547 Review

The Motorola V547 is a curvaceous & very compact mobile phone. It has a real feel of quality & fits perfectly in the hand with its curved edges. The V547 comes in a very smooth silver & grey casing which adds to its desirability. The V547 looks similar to the Motorola V500 & the Motorola V545 but the features are not the same.

The V547 comes with a integrated digital camera complete with 4 x digital zoom. The photo feature is very easy to use & the photos can be taken with one touch of the camera button. The V547 has a good quality video recording feature & it is also possible for the user to watch news reports, sporting highlights & many more video clips.

The V547 makes it all so easy with EDGE* technology for high speed data exchange that allows the user to download music, video & data. The phone also comes complete with Bluetooth® technology which gives the user freedom with a wireless connection to other local Bluetooth® devises.

We needed to get on the Web, communications are expensive any other way. Got the V547 in Cagliari, the guy set it up for me after which I'd endless trouble connecting. Worst thing for me is the side buttons are forever getting pressed & things happen, you don't want them, but they happen! Expensive at 185 Euros but we still have it, but as a standby. Hate the side buttons, stupid idea. Some of the others comments are valid too, one to miss, I am afraid.

I've had this model going on four years now, & it has survived so many times from being dropped, I was ridiculously happy with it & still am. It still works quickly, it doesn't get in the way, texting is easy, as are phone calls. The only problem I am having with it is charging it, as the charger has started to muck up from age.

I've read the other reviews & I am surprised at the negativity. I got mine as a freebie, locked onto O2. Got it unlocked & stuffed my T mobile SIM in & have been using it every day for over three years. I've had no problems until now, & the problem I have is that when I phone home, the sound goes quiet. HOWEVER, I am not certain that this is a problem with the phone, any other number is fine, & when we moved in January (which, coincidentally is about the time that the problem started). We went from BT to Virgin for our landline. Draw your own conclusions!

Yes, it's scuffed on the external buttons & the casing is slightly scratched, yes, the keys have made marks on the inside screen, but what do you expect if you stick it in a pocket with money & keys, drop it on the floor regularly, slam it in the car door once & allow the puppy to run into the garden with it?

In my honest opinion it's a great phone, possibly a bit thick for most people's liking nowadays, but I have found it to be reliable & sturdy, & what I would say to those who complain about the memory is Try deleting or transferring to your PC some of the stuff you don't want/need any more. Plenty of room for the slightly slow camera, but, hey guys, remember. It's a phone, not a camera LOL!

I just hope that I get the same experience from my next phone.

Design.
I got this phone for my birthday 3 years ago & I absolutely adored it. I was thrilled to have a flip phone & the silver exterior gave it a modern look. My only (minor) problem with the design was the fact that the aerial was on show. It looked a bit like I had gone back to the times of the brick.

Features
The phone has a good set of features (camera, video recorder & a decent game) but I felt that even with these the phone was let down slightly. The camera was not all that great (although I was very pleased with it) & video recording quality was poor (sounds got distorted & video was a bit disjointed). I really wish this phone had more memory & the capability to play MP3s properly.

Usability
It's good for anyone who wants a phone to make calls & send texts (maybe with a few features thrown in). Menus are easy to navigate in & the phone is quite fast.

Well my v547 was OK at first. But now it resides in a bag in bits as for the life of me I can't get hold of a any of the flexi cables. Never mind I went back to good old! Nokia.

This phone is absolute rubbish! The memory is a joke. Absolutely awful, my kid's toy phone can hold more messages. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF RUBBISH. Plus the fact that it does not even have a slot so more memory can be added!! WASTE OF MONEY, BE WARNED!!!! HOW CAN YOU DOWNLOAD ANY RINGTONES, GAMES, MUSIC IF THERE IS NO MEMORY MOTOROLA DUH!! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER - YOU ARE WAY BEHIND THE OTHER BIG PHONE MANUFACTURERS I GIVE THE PHONE A 5% BECAUSE THAT IS THE LOWEST THAT CAN BE AWARDED. BELIEVE ME IT DOESNT EVEN WARRANT A 5!!! 0% IN EVERY DEPT FROM ME

This is a cool phone, what Motorola have done here is quite clever & made a good down to earth mobile, it comes with features but I'm very happy to say not with all the usual extra ones that you might use once, twice or even ever. It is a good honest phone for someone who doesn't want all the technical stuff. I've scored this phone high in the features because it has all the features the average person would enjoy & use.

I brought my wife the V547 as she had been mentioning getting a mobile for about 3 months. On receiving the phone she could not have been more happy & it was lovely to see a nice big smile on her perfect face but to my despair by late evening she was really disappointed with the quality of the Video Camera. I don't like to see my wife upset & listening to my wife's comments I suggest people looking for a quality camera or video phone stay well away from this one.

I really like my Motorola V547. It's got some really useful features, it is not too expensive & comes with a built in video & camera. I think this would be a perfect starter phone for any one who has not had a phone before.

The V547 is lighter than the V550 but comes with the latest EDGE technology that's the only good things about it. It has a very poor design & is not easy to get on with. Not the phone for me I'm afriad.
