I love my phone :). I have it in purple. Looks absolutely amazing! Probably one of the best looking phones I have ever had. I love the external touch screen!

I think its bad points are.
- Memory (without memory card).
- Can be very slow when there are lots of media files).
- Only 2 themes on there.
- Doesn't have a converter.
- Chips extremely easily (had it for a day & already had 2 chips on :S).
- You can easily accidently press send using the green, send, done button when texting, therefore, sending lots of half written text messages (which can be so annoying).

Good points.
- Looks beautiful.
- Cameras good.
- Lots of functions.
- External touch screen reacts well.
- Can be used as a mirror (external front)

I know I haven't put many good points, but trust me, its amazing :) & I think the way that it presents itself makes up for all the bad points :).

I absolutely adore this phone. It has a great battery life & the music player is so easy to use.

The camera is very nice on the phone too, sometimes even better than my digital camera.

All around I think this phone is just great, & I would recommend this to just about anyone :).

I have bought Motorola U9 mobile phone a week back. It was love at first touch when I hold it. However after using it for few days I am not satisfied with the feature & software (inbuilt) that I got with it.

- In any possible way an upgrade will help me use the external buttons for more purposes?

- There is no media player in the phone. I cannot jump to tracks from external screen & even with lid open I have to open Moto music or file manager. Only way I can jump to sound track is by forwarding or reversing.

- I can open camera from outer screen with voice command but can't capture anything. That is real pity. Many of the voice functions can be improved such as opening media is not available which I believe can be done.

- Bluetooth is doing a great job but while receiving file from another device. Even when making my MOTO U9 discoverable only for 3 minutes. While receiving it bonds with other device & then I have to manually turn it off when I am done with the file transfer.

I think these are just some software issue which can be taken care of without much effort. HOPE Motorola guys come up with software upgrade that will make this phone more user friendly.

I love this phone so much, it's the best I have ever owned (& I have owned a lot) mine is Black & it looks great. It does everything I want to, it plays music without a problem. I have a 4GB memory card in the phone & it doesn't cause any problems. I gave back a blackberry storm because I like this phone better. The ultimate fashion phone :).

I am about to get this phone as my first proper phone for my birthday. I have experienced a Motorola, a Motorola V3 before but not one so popular & expensive. I need to find out other people's opinions of this phone so I know if I should get it & what colour to get it in a swell. My friend has this phone & after borrowing it every now & then I think this phone is the phone for me. Please someone tell me their opinions of this phone!

This phone is a stunner. Mine was in black & it looked fantastic! The outer screen is absolutely fantastic too. However, as soon as I inserted a memory card, it froze more frequently & listening to music became fairly frustrating with the amount of time it took to just change song. Also, listening to music via Bluetooth was just impossible!

I have had this phone for about 2 to 3 years (since it came out) & on the whole I must say that it is a rather good phone.

It's light & very appealing.

The one thing wrong is the memory. Like most Motorola's they have a lack of memory but this is the only down point.

I would recommend buying it for a first to third phone :).

I have had the pick Motorola u9 for about 3 months now & overall it is quite an appealing phone. It is very stylish & I love the colour. The outside can get slightly scratched easily but I use a phone sock to eliminate this problem.

The touch screen for music seems to work well & the sound quality is very impressive. Putting music onto the phone through the USB cable is also easy but you do have to buy the cable separately.

My problem is that I can't seem to get pictures from the phone or memory card onto the computer. Does anyone know how to do this or if it is even possible? This is slightly annoying.

It does only come with one game which is slightly disappointing but does not bother me that much. It has the usual calculator, alarm & world clock so these features are good.

It does not have a flash on the camera or a general light but the picture quality is pretty good. It also comes with some very pretty preset wallpapers.

Texting is good & easy but I did accidently send half wrote texts when I first got it due to the cancel & send buttons being close together but you get used to it. You can also read the texts flipped down on the outside screen.

Overall, it is a good phone. Up points are the colour & style, outside touch screen & easy to navigate menu.

Some people have had problems with it crashing yet I have not had this problem. Touch wood it won't happen to me. Some people have also said they cannot use it while charging but I can do this too so no problems there.

Downsides are the fact it does not transfer pictures from the phone to the computer & could get scratched easily.

If anyone has any info about this, please let me know.

I've had this phone for about 6 months now. At first it was OK, a bit of a pain having to buy cables & memory card but no big issue there.

I also invested in a set of Bluetooth headphones to use the wireless music option as I listen to the music whilst riding my motorbike. This was the first issue I had, the phone just cannot sustain an entire song, it frequently stops & buffers the music or just pauses whilst the Bluetooth connection resets itself.

The headphones are Motorola S9 so should be more than compatible.

However after buying a wired adaptor to 3.5mm the music is perfect.

Issues with the phone, the removal of the 1 hand open mechanism, having previously owned a PEBL U6, the lack of single handed easy open mechanism is a big disappointment.

After a couple of months the phone for no reason started to get slow to respond to menu selections. Then shortly after started to turn itself off & back on again. Whilst this hasn't happened during a call yet I find it rather annoying.

It has also started recently to flash with a red screen when opening.

Occasionally the phone also OVERHEATS, to the point where I cannot hold it in my hand, & it's so hot it physically hurts my leg when in my trouser pocket & I have to remove it. I then have to remove the battery & allow the phone to cool down. This is happening more & more frequently & I don't think the phone will see out the year. i.e. the next 3 months.

Overall I would be pleased with the phone as it does the job well, when it works.

I had been hoping for a firmware update to stop the restarts but have seen no support from Motorola available since it was released & I am starting to think there will not be any as this isn't a flagship model.

I bought this phone in April this year & have had nothing but problems with it. I purchased the phone because like others I thought it was a gorgeous looking phone. Big mistake!

Main problems I have found are,

- Whilst texting & an incoming text is coming in, the phone totally freezes for minutes making it unable to either continue with text or read new text. Have to take back off & remove battery very often.

- Whilst in the menu of the phone if there is an incoming text coming through the phone freezes.

- When I now receive an incoming call I can't hear the caller. I have to put the loudspeaker on in order to have a conversation!

- While texting the phone misses out letters & then you re type & it gets it wrong, again! I am an avid texter & therefore know it isn't my mistake, especially when I am watching the phone make the mistakes.

- Memory very small unless memory card is purchased separately, 1 or 2 songs maximum held, considering this is hyped to be a music phone I found that quite bad.

- the photo quality is poor.

- There is a repeat reminder if you have not read a text message, I enjoy this feature, however I really dislike it when it beeps every 5 minutes to tell me I have an unread message & when I check there is no message there! Again the battery has to be removed in order to remove the beeping!

My good points with the phone are that it is nice to look at. Well, the experience of owning this phone has taught me that looks aren't everything! I would avoid this phone at all costs. I am buying a replacement phone today & trading this piece of rubbish for it. Returning to Samsung as Motorola has failed to impress me on this occasion.

NO NO NO NO! Do not buy one of these phones, yes they are lovely to look at, but that is it. The cable to link the phone to your computer, & the phone tools disk do not come with the phone, neither does a memory card which believe me, you will need as the phone will only hold one song otherwise. That all costs nearly £40.00 on top of the price of the phone. But I have had two of these both, first one did not link with my computer at all, & the second one just goes off mid phone call or text. I have been assured I will be getting the refund for the second phone.

However the extra items I have had to purchase, Motorola will not refund me for, even though the items are useless to me without the mobile. Motorola gave me the name of the company & said they were the only company to sell these items, but are refusing to take any responsibility whatsoever for the fact that the phone won't do what it is supposed to without them & they themselves told me to purchase the items from this Company.

Avoid Motorola Customer Services at all cost. I will not be buying a Motorola phone again!

Lovely display user friendly & just fabulous. Also I would like to say I HATE predictive text but this phones predictive text is great & very nice to use. Speaker is lovely & loud too :) camera hmm it's OK would of made the phone outstanding if was 3MP & flash but it does take good photos if in good lighting.

Got this phone a couple of months ago after my Samsung was squashed LOL. Not into Moto phones but liked the look of this phone & loved the colours & design of it. Got it & it was great. All was going well. Then phone started to turn itself on & off, screen kept going mad colours, it was really slow & froze all the time. When writing text messages it would miss out letters then when I retyped it the letters would all come up (very very annoying). Started vibrating for no reason & wouldn't stop. Took ages for messages to send & receive. When battery was dead & you charged it the phone wouldn't turn on for ages. Took about 10 minutes for everything to load up.

Overall very very disappointed in this phone. I would not recommend it to anyone. Only good thing about this phone is its looks.

Good points.
- Very stylish.
- Good technology.
- Very well designed.
- Very handy features.

Bad points
- Very slow phone (takes like a minute to access music player).
- Even though the camera is 2 mega pixel the quality is very bad & I found it quite blurry.
- Not very user friendly.
- The front screen scratches very easily so don't get it if you expect to keep it a nice glossy phone because it doesn't.
- After a couple of weeks my software on my phone started playing up like saying I have one bar of battery left even though I charged it the night before so.

Quite good for price but I probably wouldn't recommend it.

I have had this phone for about 3 months now & I am looking for a new one. This is because, this phone keeps freezing & it very slow, also the MP3 is slow.

At first I thought it was because I had too many messages but once I had got rid of them all, it was still slow.

I have had a Motorola before & that went funny after a year or so. I think now I am NEVER going to get another Motorola as they are not worth the money.

If you are OK with a slow phone, buy it. But if you're like me, don't get it. You may get the problems I have got.

Apart for the phone itself, the design is nice. When I have it in my pocket it feels like it isn't there.

I am disappointed by some of the comments because it doesn't have a USB cable with it. Although I can easily buy one off eBay. & I will buy a memory card because I want to use it as a music phone.

I really want this phone. & I love the fact that its touch screen on the front so I don't need to flip it open to change a song. I have a Sony Ericsson W300i at the moment & it's always freezing on me. But from my research I would recommend this phone.

To KG.

To put the back on, Close the phones flip. You see the two prongs at the bottom of the back, line them up with the silver on the bottom of the phone, & place the top part of the back down, & then slide towards the speaker. To get it off, push the bar near the flip hinge & slide off.

I have a black U9, & it is the best phone I have ever owned. The speaker sound quality is superb!

I bought the Motorola U9 a few months ago. I purchased it in Black, it has superb looks. A very feminine looking phone. Beautiful to the touch & quite easy to navigate. The only complaint I have with it is downloading games. I am on the O2 network & when I tried to purchase games from O2, to my disappointment I was told by O2 that they had NO DOWNLOADABLE GAMES AVAILABLE FOR THIS MODEL, Motorola U9. The phone itself has only ONE game provided on it, SUDOKO, which I don't even know how to play!

So after paying £109 for this model, I am quite disappointed about the games downloading (or should I say LACK OF). So for this reason alone, I wouldn't recommend it.

Love the colour & the screen that appears when the phone is closed. I know people keep complaining about the fact that there is no USB port, & this is a major floor in the design the way I got music onto it was via Bluetooth. If you have an apple computer you can pair up your phone & your computer & then send whatever you wish to your phone from your computer or visa versa.

Has anyone else had problems with inserting the back that covers the battery & SIM card? I removed the back, in order to switch my SIM, but now I am having problems with putting it back. I am really annoyed because I think I'll have to take it back to the shop & get them to do it.

All in all I love the phone.

I picked this up in London a couple months ago. I have always used Moto phones as I travel a great deal & quad band is a must have. I have not tried the blue tooth yet so can't comment on that. However, I have been very happy with the other features.

Pros, unique look, design, size, quad band, camera, music, etc.

Cons, texting is a bit difficult, I have to use a fingernail to keep from hitting the wrong key. I have also had trouble syncing with my laptop.

The headphones are OK but would prefer an adapter to allow you to use your own headphones. I also think it is slimy that Motorola does not include a cable & software with a phone that is designed to play music.

OK I bought this phone today & I was pleased with it. I also bought a 2GB micro SD memory card as I have been looking at reviews & apparently it's got little memory.

People ask why doesn't it come with a lead. Well if you have a windows vista computer & on the tower it has a SD or mini card slot your fine.

I can easily copy & paste music into the file, take out the card, place it back into my phone & play the music I want with great sound.

Its difference from the other Motorola's as it's got new features & there brilliant! It gives you easy instructions how to do things etc. The battery lasts up to 3 days if you leave it on so I charge mine every 2 days for about 1 hour.

For this phone I think it's best if you buy a little sock to put it in so it doesn't scratch, I bought mine from Carphone Warehouse for £2.99!

recommend this phone to anyone my age over sixteen.

I love this phone (I have the purple one) but have had a few issues. When I first got it, it wouldn't charge properly. I took it back to the shop & the little copper prongs that connect to the battery had got stuck! He managed to fix it though & it's been OK since.

The sounds on the phone went a lot quieter even when set on maximum sound. Then a few days ago my phone wouldn't make any noises whatsoever! I took the battery out & put it back in which seemed to do the trick & my phone is back to full sound!

It's a bit of a pain transferring music/photos to from my old mobile. The phone itself is quite slow at times.

Other than that I really like the phone. It's small & light & I love the main exterior screen! Its touch screen when you have your music player on, & when you close the phone up a small goldfish swims around on the screen for 30 seconds or so!

I would recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't want a top of the range quality camera. It's only 2MP but is good enough. But I mainly use my digital camera anyway!

I was so excited at the prospect of receiving my shiny new phone, & was made up with it when I took it out of its box, but in the end it was its shininess which let it down. After just one week the highly polished front cover was quite badly scratched, & that was just from light use, so I dread to think what it would have been like after 18 months living in the bottom of my handbag! It also kept freezing which meant having to remove the (extremely flimsy) back cover & take out the battery.

I never got to use the music facility, so I wait & hope to see if Motorola will bring an updated version out which is more practical.

Also people have been saying it's hard to get a USB cable for the phone because it is not included with your purchase, & phone stores don't stock them.

I contacted Motorola who suggested it was a software problem with my phone & recommended I return it to my supplier. I have done this today, only to find that as soon as I make a call on the phone, the lock malfunctions again. If I reset the settings, it locks again, but only until I make a call. The design couldn't be better on this phone, it's really unique & a huge step forward from the old PEBL. The memory is rubbish at first but there are micro SD cards available for less than £10. I had a Sony Ericsson which broke from water damage & couldn't be fixed, it was the W880i, the keys were horrible & small to use, whereas this is wonderful & easy to text on.

Admittedly the features are limited but if you're after a phone with countless modern features then you pay more, but for the price (I got it for £70) it's well worth the money.

It's very easy to use, especially the exterior screen, which never fails to draw attention from others. The only possibly flaw is that the menu is quite slow to load some applications, but with a little patience it is not that bad.

Overall a brilliant phone for the price, & is much better, in my opinion, than my old Sony Ericsson (that cost £180), need I say more?

I got this phone a few days ago, no there isn't no USB cable in the box but I went & brought a Bluetooth adapter for £6 until I can get a hold of the USB cable. I have got a 1GB memory card & I have nearly 100 songs on it so far. The phone is lovely to text on & the screen is bright & clear. You can even edit the menu's to suit how you like it (e.g. List, grid, spinner) & you can even reorder the menus to how you like it (e.g. Features you use the most).

I like the design it feels light & unique as for fingerprints it's not even that bad but if your going to buy a phone with a mirror effect then expect that! The MP3 sounds great too & I like the way you can use any MP3 music for ringtones or message tones. I love the touch screen menu on the front it's really easy to use when you want to change music & easy to lock! The music sounds fabulous too, it gives you different options so the music can sound how you like it! I have gone through so many phones & I remember having the Motorola V3 so Motorola have come a long way since then! I just sold my Sony Ericsson W580i to buy this phone & I am really glad I did. For £90 I think this is great value & as the phones are all unlocked it doesn't have any service provider features so the phone shows its full potential with full menu features! I am very fussy when it comes to choosing a phone as it's something you use every day but personally it's a great phone. Great looks & great features!

The reason the phone does not come with USB cable is because of the cost of the phone. To market the phone at under £100 is was not feasible to enclose everything with it. I agree that as a music phone it would be better to be complete with all cables etc but the phone is surely aimed at a younger demographic that cannot afford to pay a lot for a phone.
No complaints with the phone, I LOVE IT.

Everyone should read the full spec of any phone they are considering buying & should also go into a store & ask for a demonstration of one (this includes being allowed to handle it yourself) before buying any phone. If you are not 100% sure it is the right phone for you, you will regret buying it at some point. If you purchase a phone that you love (irksome faults & all) you will not want to complain about it.

Had high hopes for the new PEBL as love Motorola but returned it after a couple of days as, although very beautiful to look at, the screen size, battery life & all round text usability was very frustrating. Sent it back.

I haven't bought this phone but I've read so much about it. I am so happy you can expand the memory to 4 GB because I want to also use my phone as an MP3. The touch sensitive screen sound cool. It's got everything I'd want in a phone so I am going to ask for it for my birthday which is in a short time. Yay Motorola u9!

I have just ordered this phone so will have to wait it looks great it's got a megapixel camera which is great the only thing I have a against it is why don't you get headphones or a USB when it's a music phone seems pointless to me really plus the memory rubbish oh well I'll have to get a memory card now.

Lovely designed phone & so easy to use. But why if Motorola are marketing this as a music phone, do they not supply the USB data cable with it! If anyone knows where I can get one from I would love to be able to use the phone to its full potential. A search of the Internet has drawn blank as has the Motorola's own shop! So infuriating.

Like many others I have been waiting to buy this phone for some time, attracted by its design, colour & advertised software. I have an iPod Touch for music & net & an Ixus for a small camera, so really was just looking for a phone that was a cool design. I finally got hold of one yesterday. The design & display features do not disappoint as you can see from my ratings, but. How can a phone be marketed strongly for its external screen touch sensitive music playing, & then not include the means to get music onto it I.E. The USB data cable, in the pack? Be aware that there is also no SD card included. This is relatively disappointing for me, who wants it as a phone, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for those who want a multimedia piece of equipment. Clearly, it's just a way of getting more money from us, but how sad is that?

I was considering this phone for my birthday but when I was already to buy it I saw it & thought the pink & purple version looked awful & the look of it is one of my main factors so I had to say no :).

I have just bought this phone & so far I think it's really good. I like the design & the MP3 player is nice & loud. I got it from phones4u & it was only £79.99.

Having received this phone today, I am fairly happy with it. I've been looking for a clamshell for such a long time. One thing is to point out that it looks very nice & expensive in all the epics but in actual fact feels fairly cheap & it is very lightweight. The features are okay but it has everything I need on it such as email. It looks nice but I do find I quite awkward to text on it. There are some nice little features on it such as adding a star sign to your contacts & talking phone feature where you can choose if you want certain elements read out to you e.g. Text messages, menu readout, quite handy for driving I thought! Nice little phone but don't expect too much. The price reflects the phone.

No, it doesn't come with the USB cable or any type of memory card, so bear in mind as they will cost you extra. Bit annoying when you get it home & can't download music.

However still playing with the new phone & have replaced the faithful v3i. It does look the biz & first impressions are good!

This phone is available at Carphone Warehouse now, £99. I almost bought one, but went for the Razr2 V8 instead. Looks nice, very focused on music (I am not so fussed about music on my phone to be honest).

I suppose I am jumping the gun a bit because I have owned the original Motorola PEBL since its introduction two years ago. I can't wait to purchase when available the U9. The only criticism I have of the original phone was the lack of memory capability. This would seem to have been addressed in the new model.

I have got this phone but just the original version of the Motorola pebble. It is a great looking phone, & I would recommend it to anyone. It just doesn't have much memory! I have got 3 or 4 songs, & now I can't take any videos or pictures!
