I was very happy when I got Moto L9 as my birthday present. I fell in love with it at first sight for its sleek & smart looks, but never thought that my experience with it will turn out to be a nightmare. For a few days it worked absolutely fine then suddenly one day everything went wrong. The phone kept on restarting itself & often became frozen. First I thought it was due to network problem, or might be software problem, so I took it to the service centre, they updated the software but the problem persisted, so they changed the circuit, then I thought might be it was due to my SIM card which might have got corrupted, so I changed it too for the sake of the phone, as I didn't want to part with my phone. Then for a few days all was well, but my happiness didn't last n the problem of restarting recurred & ultimately I sold it off.

This is a cool, good looking & a fantastic phone. It does not have a very loud sound like any other phone but it has a crystal clear sound. It has many plus points like its design & sound but every phone has negative points that is not fair to mention.

I will advice viewers to try out this phone.

This is my first mobile. It has a pretty design. The outer look is eye catcher. But in inner the main features working good like radio, MP3, camera, video are excellent. But the keypad centre button coming out after 4 to 5 months. Then it looks too ugly & also the warranty will not applicable for these things & the spares are also not available for this l9. & we can't install any new software or games on to this slvr l9 model. This is a very good phone until the problem will detected. After you get some defect its equal to Recycle Bin.

But the clarity is unbelievable. Pretty Good.

This is a good phone but after reading your reviews regarding it I came to know that some of the people here are not aware of its technical specification as someone has mentioned that it cannot playback ACC audio files while as this can play these types of files this means that whatever they are not able to solve they simply called it as problem in the phone but that is not the case.

When we buy this handset do we get wireless headphone with it & how does the radio play through the headsets.

It is an excellent & very practical phone in a very reasonable price. I bought my L9 (Black) two days ago & I am very much satisfied with its performance & design. This is my second but first Motorola handset. Motorola is providing almost all the useful features in a very moderate price. I am very much pleased for that. Camera, FM & Sound quality is good. Net browsing is also nice. Screen 3 technology is also very helpful. As of now it for fills almost all my needs in a mobile handset.

I will definitely recommend this phone if somebody interested to buy.

Look fellas! People complain of the bad inbuilt MP3 player. Well in that case try installing a new one (midlet/corelet) like Itunes or something.

About equalizer. Edit the gain table through seems & trust me it will sound better.

I think L9 is the best for its range! Its TFT is one of the best.

I am a proud owner of L7 & L9 & one more thing, I have dropped my phone in Mumbai local trains, roads even my phone has nose-dived into my coffee mug (luckily, it was after I drank most of it). Still it had enough coffee to sink till the camera; still it has survived with no difference in performance.

Also I have never had a drop in network.

- the display is very good.

The negatives are.

- Very slow GPRS.
- Ooh the so called DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYER is very lame.
- Music quality via the headsets is poor!

Don't buy it you'll truly regret your decision. At the time of writing this the Sony Ericsson W810i costs a little over this phone, so go buy it is a superior phone compared to the MOTO SLVR L9i. This was my first Motorola & will be my last : (.

OLD Motorola L9 ARE BEING SOLD IN INDIA. It is a good handset with lot of feature with this price range. It has got some manufacturing defects also such as keypad etc. I have had one L9. I have purchased it on July 2007. It stopped functioning on Nov 2007. I was able to receive incoming calls but display, data cable through USB port etc. Where not working. I approached the Motorola service centre (franchisee) at Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. They replaced the keypad but returned me the L9 in a non functional state. They told me that the warranty is void as one of the water indicators became red (out of two) & it will cost you 80% of the total price if it is repaired from here! So I decided to get back the L9 in non functional state. Later on I got it repaired at a cost of Rs.300/ (3% of total cost approx) from a local store or expert.

Besides all these things I noticed one more major issue with L9. The set was assembled with old parts. One can easily conclude this when he looks at my opened up L9 set. So please think once more if anyone has a plan to purchase L9 at least in India. How Motorola can keep the terms in the warranty as it knows age of components of L9 being sold. Motorola easily can find ways to declare the warranty as void.

The L9 (known as the L72 here) is the first Motorola phone that I got & so far so good.

Pros
- Probably the best phone for its price.
- Good Battery Life.
- Supports Bluetooth stereo headsets.
- Automatically retries sending failed SMS messages (not sure if this applies to all Motorola phones).
- Calls are very clear.

Cons
- Poor radio reception.
- Audio Player is lame, doesn't even have an equalizer.
- Audio Player doesn't have a search function (if you have thousands of songs it is a necessity).
- Lag in some menus.
- Prone to fingerprints & smudges.
- Camera is rubbish indoors.

Overall it is still a very good phone.

HO. HO. HO. Whew for L9. Dudes & gals this one of the most marvelous phone one can get in moderate price. I think it is the best in that range. Hats off for the styling capability of Motorola company's designer. Already razor edition is quite popular for it supreme styling. I am also big fan of razor flip phones, but only thing it lacks is FM radio.

So l9 has all good multimedia features with FM which made me to change any decision from razor.

Its LCD is small but highly colourful & vibrant & is good use as bit ipod function. Speakers are loud & clear. Only bit volume for earphone is not high for loud music fanatics. I think purposely left for to rokr.

Camera is OK. Satisfactory.

ONE COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT WHY MIRROR FINISHED TYPE PHONES IS LESS LAUNCHED IN INDIA. Here in most outlets you c is black glossy metal case. Mirror finished titanium looks is more impressive than black glossy casing.

Between just don't pay attention to other critics & reviewers who have tried to criticise this phone for lack of 3G capability.

Nowadays there's is no need in most of the countries, so in its range it is a gem. :)

The phone has good predictive texts, an excellent speaker & good MP3 player - except that it will only play MP3 tracks, not aac or WMA. Also has good interconnectivity with phone & memory card (9icro SD) although a 1GB card seems to have caused it problems in that it disrupted the list of tracks (each track was listed twice, even though it was on the card only once). Once a card is inserted, any pictures taken are stored to the card, not the phone memory.

Connected it to the computer OK (had to buy the lead) & was able to download tracks & copy over pictures - but maximum picture download size is quite modest about 50k from memory. No need for any software to be loaded for copying tracks, but software needed to interface with Outlook (to populate address book, & calendar events).

I bought this phone as a supplement to my A780 (sat nav / handwriting recognition / MP3 with WMA, aac) as a holiday phone because of its excellent MP3 features & it hasn't disappointed.
