I HATE this phone! Despite being huge, it is pretty & the sound quality is amazing. That said, this phone is a total piece of rubbish. The texting is horrible, the phone constantly freezes up & then spits out everything all at once. More & more often, three quarters of the buttons will fog up & I'll just have to try to remember where the letters are located on the phone (& no, this is not due to water damage). & this phone is only 3 months old! The deal breaker for me, though, is the fact that even when the phone is locked, it will allow itself to make emergency calls. Last month it racked up $25 worth of 411 calls, all while locked & in my bag! Don't buy this phone.

I brought it to replace my Nokia 6060 which was 3 years old. I love this new phone because I can hear my preferred music in everywhere & I can forward the music with one slide. If I want to take a photo I just press the left key, no mention that its visual is of another world. Therefore this mobile phone was made to me.

I had this phone to replace my LG Prada & I have lived to regret it.

It's pretty big & a bit cumbersome. Texting is awful on this phone & the buttons are quite fiddly. For some random reason, it varies the number of characters it will let you text with, not good!

It is quite cool looking though & the music player is pretty good.

I have had no problems with the battery & the camera is OK.

I had the ROKR E8 because I had a Moto previously & had really liked it.

If you want a music phone, buy a Sony Ericsson!

The phone looks nice & I liked it when I got it, a little big but I was able to put up with that. Phone has a good memory & can be used with any headphones, music quality is good too. I would recommend this phone if somebody wanted music space.

On the other hand, the phone is very slow, you have to wait for a while for things to come up, this Internet is rubbish as well.

What's worst I find about this phone is the camera, it has NO flash, which is unbelievably annoying if you're used to one. The quality of the photos is ridiculously bad, I will actually never use it, you can even make out who people are in a photo with it, unless maybe you're in good daylight. I would NOT recommend to someone if they want a good camera.

Be warned. This phone does have its faults.

Many people have had to send away for a new one, like myself, after the phone would freeze time & time again. Then after a month or so of this happening the screen decides to cut out.

Useless phone when it doesn't work, slow when it does.

The battery life is TERRIBLE for this phone.

I have to charge it every 3 days. When the phone has completely died & switched its self off

I have it on standby all the time & use it about 3 hours a day to text. I switched the Bluetooth off & the screensaver & the light is on for only 5 seconds, yet even with letting the battery run right down, it STILL only lasts 3 days, terrible. I am resorting back to my old phone.

I bought this phone a couple of months ago to replace a Sony Ericsson W890i. I am glad I did. This handset has a great battery life for starters. Having the symbols light up underneath what is essentially a pressure visor is great (no warn numbers). Mode shift is clever & works well. I've had no problems with it so far. Although it took me a while to get used to texting with it. The slide is simple, as long as you slow down your thumb & finger motion. Then when you stop at the end of it, it scrolls slower. Syncing with Windows Media is a sinch. The loud speaker is. Well loud, unlike the microscopic, distorting one on my former phone (used strictly for the ringer). The screen is a little small for a phone of this size, but I am not griping. I can read everything, so no problem there.

The only problem is with the Bluetooth set up. Its fine for pairing with headsets & the like, but it is very difficult for other phones to pair with it to send information. In addition, to save battery life, I turn my Bluetooth off when I am not using it. That could be simpler. Previous Moto's seemed to do it for you. This one you have to go Bluetooth options Manage Bluetooth off. But that's it & that's nothing. I am well happy. Great phone! Get one!

I wasn't sure about the look of this phone at first, as it was slightly bigger (although thinner) than my old mobile. I wasn't convinced by the dummy model in the phone shops as I thought it looked at bit cheap & plastic. But decided to go for anyway after the reviews I had read.

WOW, it's an amazing phone! It looks very smart, I like how the buttons change depending on what mode it is in, & it's also crystal clear when using.

Battery life seems to be as good as other phones I have had.

So pleased I made the swap over to the ROKR!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am looking to buy a new phone soon & want something with Bluetooth Music Player & MP3, quite a bit of memory, under £150 (pay as you go) & at least a 2MP camera. The problem is all of the phones I like seem to get really bad reviews, if it's not that they break easily, it's that the battery life lasts five minutes. Is this phone really that good or can I wish good bye to this one too. Also any suggestions for phones anyone?

I loved this phone, the scrolling wheel, & the mode shift I thought were very clever. All of my friends had no idea what it actually was! It is very unique. But it is not without its problems. The camera isn't as good as some other 2.0 mega pixel phones, & the screen is fairly small. Also, I have quite a lot of music, so as soon as I inserted a 1GB memory card, everything slowed down & for some reason I couldn't add music to a playlist without copying it to the phone memory. Also, when not on silent mode, texting is slow too because of all the silly noises it makes.

Received this little gem today & real glad I chose this over several other manufacturers. Motorola are going in the right direction making phones like this that are more for the music minded mobile users, having owned several Walkman phones & Nokia models with music features, this beats them all, I own the iPod touch & other than the touch screen on the apple & all the other applications, this matches music quality & sound, there are also various equalizer features on there too as well as bass options, the scroll wheel also works too, despite other reviews elsewhere complaining about the speed, all you need to do is control your thumb or finger, easy as that basically, the haptic feedback from pressing buttons also works faultlessly so far, design is great, feels solid yet quite light, works great in the pocket too, haven't tried the camera as yet but all other features are there to use.

Moto text is quite different to Sony Ericsson & Nokia etc, just takes getting used to, so far this phone is great & I am so glad I bought it, so the Motorola ROKR E8 IS HIGLY RECOMMENDED.

If you use a mobile for talking & texting then this phone great. The call quality is stunning, easily the best I have ever had in over 12 years of owning mobiles. Texting is also spot on if you can cope with Moto's version of predictive text. Battery life is outstanding.

I love the size & shape of this phone. The unusual screen layout works well & suits texting.

The only problem I have is the size of the text on SMS. It's very small but crystal clear. I wish there was a way of making it larger but this phone is certainly not alone with this failing. I just like Sony there is an option to increase font size in e mails & when using the web but not for the most common use of reading text, SMS. I don't get the logic at all.

A great phone.

Just got this phone from eBay shipped from Hong Kong. I was a little disappointed in the Chinese characters on the keypad along with the English ones, but I am OK. I will survive.

I have been a fan of Nokia & Sony Ericsson & I previously owned the W810i. The one thing that I was always upset about with the Sony Ericsson was that they call it a Walkman phone. But where is the 3.5mm jack? You need to use the stupid adapter that breaks after a couple of months if you use it on a regular basis. Not to mention it cost a lot to replace. With that said Sony Ericsson does not offer any phones with a 3.5mm jack so that is why I got this phone.

This phone is big. But it is also thin. That is more important to me because if I carry it in my pocket it does not bulky. The screen is a little small (2') but the resolution is great so again not a problem.

The MP3 player is awesome. The external speaker is loud & clear. The 3.5mm jack is key. When making a phone call the sound is very clear. The best quality I ever heard on a mobile phone.

The touch key pad is great also. It is not to sensitive. You actually have to press with same force you normally would on a button. Also the haptic feedback really feels you are pressing a real button.

Good job Motorola. My first Motorola & I am very happy.

Great Phone! Got it today & so far no trouble at all with setting it up! I gave the phone 5% off for being slightly heavy to hold! All the glass & new features!

So much more than the RAZR V8, radio, etc.

Mode shift is great & so easy to use. However the scroll wheel is slightly to sensitive & so you go past the option you want. But the scroll wheel does speed up texting considerably!
