On my 4th phone & problems still occur. Camera crashes & Bluetooth crashed. I have read the manual & it still crashes. Don't say you were not warned.

The software is not good enough to handle all the features. If the Z10 is the flag ship of Motorola then it's the Titanic.

I'll be honest, after reading most reviews, the phone is quite difficult to use. I have had it for more than a week & needed the manual to help me out at first. Now that I have got the hang of it, it's a cool phone & looks amazing. Media player is cool & I am using a 2GB memory card. No problems with the phone at all.

I DO HOWEVER MISS MY KRZR K1. It was smaller & easier to use.

Hmm. I don't know where to start with the Z10, I went through three handsets in a week! I really love the look of the phone & wanted it to work but when the thing keeps rebooting every single time while you're chatting on it, then it's time to move on & believe me, all three phones had the same problem. Been using a Nokia N82 these days. Nice.

I was looking at getting either the Nokia 6500 or the Samsung U800 at first, then I came across the Z10 as an alternative. After reading all the problems with the other 2 phones I decided to go for this. I went into the O2 shop to buy it, but decided to test it first.

Glad I did really, as the design is quite good & it looks quite nice. Although I didn't read the manual I found it too complicated to use for even some of the basic stuff. The stuff you shouldn't need a manual for. Then there was the soft key button layout (either side of the big round button in the middle), that's a bit confusing at first as well. But I think this is where some people who say applications close themselves go wrong on. At first I didn't notice that the raised bits weren't the buttons, it's the flat bits BETWEEN the raised ridges that are the actual buttons, hence soft touch. Now as I didn't know this I was pressing the raised ridge, & so sometimes hitting 2 buttons at the same time, this would open an application & then straight away close it back down again. I don't know if this is what some people are doing & thinking the phone is faulty.

But on the other hand I couldn't close some of the applications down as there's no easy way to do it, you do need to read the manual for that, which I don't think you should need to for something so basic.

So a good looking phone but overall for me it's far too complicated than it needs to be. & that's the only aspect in the half hours worth of use I had that put me off from buying this.

So back to square one with the Nokia 6500 or the Samsung U800. I like Nokia's & find them very easy to use, but the 6500 doesn't look terribly reliable. Though having said that the O2 sales rep said that O2 had waited about 2 months after everyone else to release the 6500 & so they ironed out most of the faults with their own software, & hence there's not too many problems with them. Not sure how much truth there is in this.

O2 are now selling the Z10 for £75, & it isn't worth that. I am a huge fan of Motorola & have had nothing else for the past ten years, so I called into my local O2 shop & asked to see & try one.

First looks are wow, it's a beautiful phone, I was in love, in went the battery & SIM card, & power on, I slid open the phone, wow again, & there the love affair ended. The menu's are appalling, unlike any other Motorola, & so complicated, I struggled to even find the basic things, like music & pictures, & so slow, I was literally having to wait 2 to 3 seconds after pressing a button for anything to happen, & this is a brand new phone, in the end the phone decided to freeze on the media player, & neither myself or the O2 assistant could coax anything more out of it, I promptly handed it back & said NO THANK YOU. I think I'll stick with my RAZR V8, its spot on. My advice is, try before you buy.

OK, let me start by saying the memory card slot allows up to 32GB not 4! It's what Motorola calls future proof.

It's Simple to close the media centre. Look in the manual, OK the design is not for everyone but I find it very comfortable to use, its packed full of features & if you don't skip steps by turning it on & trying to do everything without reading the manual then you are not giving it a chance!

BEST Motorola BY FAR!

I have had a V3 & KAZR & they have been great, the Z10 forget it. Keypad too small & uncomfortable to use. Now has a mind of its own, the back space key takes you to recent calls menu & then dials the last number!

When a text message comes in it flicks through three screens before finally opening the message. Most annoying phone I've ever owned. If you're thinking of getting one, think again.

I too wanted to like it but it kept blocking me all the way. Memory errors, rebooting, camera stops working, won't play some video files from other phones, battery sometimes does not charge fully. Had to swap my phone out because of these problems & now the movies are no good as it thinks I have an illegal copy on my memory card. Motorola absolutely no help. I have to keep this phone for at least a year but will not be going back to Motorola. Samsung & Nokia has been the best so far.

Thank Goodness, I thought it was me. This phone looks & feels fantastic but what a disappointment. Firstly mine also continually turns itself off. Sometimes whilst in pocket but most annoyingly, also when in use. Also it is a nightmare to navigate through the features. It is a shame that the people who designed the outside never met the people who designed the innards.

I am a big fan of Motorola phones so I took the plunge & purchased a Z10. To be honest I really wanted to like this phone, unfortunately I didn't. The clever design is spoilt by the cheap & nasty plastic look & feels to the phone. Operating software is nothing special & YES it is slow & YES it is hard to navigate. Nice try Motorola but it is back to the drawing board & learn from your mistakes from both the Z8 & Z10.

I ordered this phone, & was really excited, however I have now sent this phone back, the phone kept turning itself off, & I also got a bad buzzing on the line whenever I was on a call, also the keys & small, & there is not a lot of space between, & if your a girl, who has long nails, then it's a chore trying to send what would be a quick text.

I think I might try the Samsung soul!

This phone is essentially geared to deliver photos & video. It is tricky to navigate & not music friendly, to download & upload anyhow. The on board memory (to service applications) is a little slow also.

Big plus's are the design & the ability to upload video to, for example, you tube.

I wouldn't really class this as a Smartphone but more of a fashion phone. The design will long outlast its applications ad functions which are at best. Average.

I have had so many phones over the years, trying to find something different was a pain. Now the Z10 has landed. & I think it's great. For me the camera equals those of the Nokia's & Sony Ericsson's which goes to show you don't need 5 megapixels to get great shots. The 6500 slide proves that granted the menus are a little strange to get used to but that's what I wanted, something off the norm. The build is great & the curved slide mechanism is ergonomically great. The music players now equaliser adjustment belts out loud clear sound. The colour screen is tops & the ring tone quality is loud & clear to.

Overall I would recommend this phone as for the lady who can't clear her screen saver, you should go into profiles, scroll to display then to screensaver then set to none. You can find more savers just dig deep they are there. Hope this helps.

Gutted, wanted this to be such a good phone, but sadly its going back ASAP.

I am having problems with the screensaver coming on even though I am in the middle of using the phone & can't find any way of turning it off, the keys are hard to use, only have a small space to use (not very fat fingered friendly if you have 'big boned' fingers!).

But the design is so nice & I am really upset that it hasn't lived up to what I expected.

I did find it hard to navigate around the phone.

In other words, if you don't mind the keypad & your used to a Motorola. Go for it. Hopefully they would have sorted the screen saver out by then.

I got a silver Z10 last week, possibly the coolest phone ever.

The video software is very good, very easy to use & upload to the web.

unfortunately 3 games available to download. I don't know how long I can last without mobile poker so it bester be sorted.

& what needs to be said about the amazing slide mechanism, proper pub brownie points.

Awesome bit of kit.

I have been looking at this phone for ages now & can't wait for it to be on sale, have had RaZr v3s & k1s & find each time the Motorola gets better & better, & I am sure it will live up to all it is being billed as.

This phone looks great, it has a 3.2 megapixel camera, video records at 30fps, you can upload video straight to the Internet. It operates on UIQ 3.2 Symbian OS v9.2.I asked about a release date for this phone at the Carphone Warehouse & they said it should be released in the first week of April, I will buy it when it is out.
