I just wanna say that you have the best phone reviews 'cause on most phone sites, e.g, t-mobile.com, they only show you the features & what its design looks like, with only one picture. Yours has it all!

GREAT PHONE, ITS OK.
Reviewer: Ian - UK

Design:
Good - for those of us who need glasses for reading the large buttons are useful & the one handed opening works well.
Bad - Try reading the screen text against light coloured background wallpaper. The glass front etc smears badly - constantly wipe off the finger prints. You cannot disable the external buttons so occasionally you can start playing music unintentionally.
Features:
Good - Hmm great for those who want on line games etc (toys).
Bad - Really badly thought through menu system, the GUI is not user friendly or logical, time zone update does not work & it cannot cope apparently with summer time. The PC tools software is written by an external supplier & you will get very little support to fix it - which if you sync with outlook you will need since it has a tendency to duplicate items rather than sync.
Usability
Good - As a basic phone fine
Bad - Forget trying to see anything on the screen in sun light.
Me - I want simple things:
Big buttons / keypad, tri band (quad if possible), ability to sync to outlook contacts & calendar, reasonable, camera, Bluetooth, vibe alert. Simple well laid out menu system (Nokia at least have that sorted).
Everything else can go swim in a pond - toys for the kids (TV, radio, online games etc) or paranoid company type that has to have everything (BlackBerry's in mind here) & to be honest I do not value this sort of gimmick it just adds more complexity to what should be a simple device.

When it works this phone is OK. It looks good & is easy to navigate & I was really pleased with it for about a month. However, the sound quality became increasingly poor & there was a loud buzzing every time I used it. It took ages to actually get in contact with anyone & I was on hold to Orange customer services for hours. I got it replaced & within a week the screen on the second one has been playing up & the sound quality is getting just as bad. I would strongly advise against buying this phone as it obviously has problems.

We purchased 2 of these phones. They are great they do everything that we required. Just love the address/phone book etc. All is easy to navigate. Best phones we have purchased in a long time. Highly recommended. We give it the thumbs up! :)

Great phone I love it! When it comes to texting, I would rather pick a keyboard phone! Still it's not bad at all!

Really liked this phone. Easy to use menus (even after having a Nokia N80), good features, screen & battery life. It was also a reasonable weight & felt solid in use.
Software worked (which Nokia's didn't) & I was happy with the phone until it totally packed up on me for no reason after 3 months use.
Unfortunately it's now not on the NHS options list so I'll have to have a different RAZR. Let's see how long that one lasts!

Horrid horrid horrid. This phone has shocking build quality & the reviews about it made me want to buy it, if only I knew it would break 10 days into my contract. I've know had it for 4 months & it's been repaired 6 times please take my advice & don't touch this phone with a barge pole.
Plz don't BUY THIS PHONE!

My goodness all I can say straight off is this is a zippy phone, before this I've been using N80 & P990i, then V3X for while, but one is troublesome beyond belief & the other 2 bad battery plus sluggishness & bugs galore (series 60). With Vodafone now doing the data tariff I can get back to the days of surfing the net & live pages & this does the trick it's really nippy when in the HSDPA zone & battery life is good. The flashing light display makes it seem alive & the screen is pin sharp with really black, blacks. It can be a bit difficult at first to get used to Moto but it's their system, it's not that bad & theirs enough in the phone apps wise for all your daily needs. You get the email send/receive good calendar with extra info sections. Java apps seem to load fast & with the super responsive keypad it's not hard on your fingers. When you press the 'on' button for e.g it's such a solid response & it's the best keypad in 9 yrs I have used besides Nokia 6630. I reckon I am near the 50 mark now of phone ownership & this ranks one of my favourites, good solid phone, good display, slim, good battery & very responsive.

This is a very slick looking phone, has wonderful features, is slim lightweight & looks good but all that is no good if the phone does not work. We have had one for a couple of months & out of that have probably had use for four weeks this phone has to many issues. We had to take first phone back twice as it kept switching off for no reason, battery was full every time then we had to change phone over two times before we got one that the would read a micro SD card that was just for starters. The speaker went in the phone so had to get fixed then it came back & none of the keypad was working so had to be sent away again got it back yesterday 1st June 2007 & nothing works at all can't do anything with it at all, so I would rate the phone at zero & would not recommend it to anyone yet till they iron out the faults, so after a couple of months we still don't have a phone! We are at the least not very impressed as we have had more than one phone & they have all played up & have been faulty.

Not happy Jan! Had the phone 3 weeks, it rubbish itself, kept turning off, could do nothing with it, been in the shop getting 'fixed' for 5 weeks, still waiting.

This wasn't my first Motorola unit so I didn't have much trouble using the menus. For first time users, however, the common complaint would most probably be the unintuitive UI. Admittedly, Motorola's menus are sometimes unfriendly to use, particularly if you're into the non-phone functions like multimedia storage & Bluetooth connections. Personally, I got this phone because:
1) It was a reasonable halfway point between great multimedia functions & phone weight
2) Its got the functionality of the V3x & the BLING factor of the V3i.
The external display is one of my favorite features on this phone. It's enormous, it displays enough information, it can be used to view certain menus (like the Music Player or the Ring Style changer) &, with the right artsy wallpaper, it looks downright pretty.
On the hardware side, the screen is amazing (not to mention humongous). The camera (both of them, actually) is spectacular. The keypad, although it looks much too fashionable, is actually quite durable & is so far enduring my 4000-SMS-messages-a-month habit.
For Bluetooth headphone users: its fun to use with Bluetooth headphones but setting it up is tricky. You have to connect to your headphones from the Gallery/Music Player & not from the Connectivity menu. It's confusing but there you go.

Just upgraded from a Nokia N80. It's been a few years since I've had a Motorola & I was a bit unsure what I would get. The Maxx V6 is excellent. Looks great, is easy to use & feels good in your hand. A breath of fresh air from my Nokia - highly recommended!

A good looking mobile, & a good set of features.
However I have had three in two weeks & all have had the same fault, it will choose from time to time to not take calls or messages, even though it is in a full strength area & can make call with no problems
Tech support at Orange has been brilliant, they have noted similar problems with this phone, it may well be the software that is built for the Orange that is causing this issue.
I suggest try it, but keep a watchful eye on it, I am sorry Moto I'll be with Nokia for the next year.

I switched my Nokia 6230i with the Motorola Maxx V6. It works fine but there are a couple things that really bother me like:
1: Cannot open images larger than 250kb
2: Cannot zoom into picture after taken
3: Picture does not autosave
4: Picture quality is poor
5: Menu not user friendly
6: Cannot change external screen wallpaper
7: Back has to be opened to change the memory card
8: Video conversation is sluggish (probably because of carrier)
9: Video is probably never going to be used because it's really bad
10: Bluetooth had time limit of 3 minutes which can become very irritating
Other than those problems which I am sure Motorola can fix, everything is fine. The screen quality is great & it's a nice phone.

All the data speed & options of the V3x in a phone that is slightly larger than the V3i. Battery life is a lot better than the V3x. A great phone!

Looks & sounds cool, appears to have most of the required features along with better memory capacity than previous models. Have you seen the lil babies light up when you receive a call - it looks cool in the dark. I assume that's a flash I can see in the picture, but also assume it does not have the TV-out port. Haven't rated the phone cos' I haven't seen it to hold & on that note, anyone know when it's out in the UK?

Looks nice, sounds amazing. Could be Motorola's best yet. Not as thin as original RAZR but a lot better can't wait to get it.

The previous V3x felt cheap compared to the original V3... & to be honest Motorola are a step behind in the interface department. Sony Ericsson & even Benq Siemens have more user friendly interfaces. If you don't need lightning fast Internet & want a great phone made with top class materials choose the EF81 (also a flip phone & even more sleek than the RAZR).
