Motorola AURA Review

This contemporary designed handset will cause a stir on its looks alone. The Motorola AURA is a beautifully designed mobile phone which comes with a unique & rather eye catching designed casing. The phone has a circular screen & a smooth swivel opening mechanism. The Motorola AURA is a fashion phone which comes with the sleek appearance a user would expect from a Motorola fashion conscious handset. The circular screen is 1.5 Inch in diameter which displays up to sixteen million colours with a screen resolution of 480 pixels. The handset is made from a stainless steel casing which comes with distinctive etched textures for a grooved finish. The Motorola AURA has a swivel opening mechanism which allows the user to smoothly swivel the top half of the handset to reveal the keypad on the lower section of the casing. The swivel action opening system is similar to the opening mechanism on the popular Nokia 7373. The swivel action opening system on the AURA is highly advanced as it uses hardened coated steel gears & many ball bearings to operate this swivel action. On opening the handset the user will reveal an aluminium keypad which has well spaced out keys & allows the user to continue to view the stylish circular screen when the handset is opened. The handset has a luxurious feel due to the high quality metals & materials used to design this elegant casing.

The Motorola AURA comes in a solid weight casing which weighs 141 grams including the fitted battery. The overall size of the casing is 47.6mm wide by 97mm long by 18.6mm due to its swivel design opening system it is a compact handset which makes it easy to carry & hold in a single hand. The Motorola AURA works on a quad band GSM network which covers four GSM network bands & will automatically switch between network bands without the user knowing. The network coverage is fully dependant on the network service provider but this handset is capable of worldwide roaming over GSM network. The phone comes with internal memory which is two gigabytes in size & allows the user to store their contacts details, messages, music & pictures on the internal memory. The user can connect their handset to other devices including the user's personal computer by using a USB cable to connect the two devices or a Bluetooth® wireless technology connection. The Bluetooth® wireless technology allows the user to connect their Motorola AURA to other devices which are up to 10 meters away & support Bluetooth® technology to transfer files wirelessly between the devices. The user can enjoy high speed transfer rates as the AURA supports EDGE technology & GPRS. The fitted battery provides approximately 410 hours of standby battery time when the handset is not in use or up to seven hours of GSM talk time.

The Motorola AURA comes with a speaker call feature which allows the user to enjoy a hands free call experience using the phone speakers to hear their contact out loud. The speaker call feature allows the user to place their AURA handset on a nearby desk or table & the user can continue talking whilst hearing their contact over the loud speaker. An email service allows the user to communicate via email to any contact with an email address & the user can enjoy creating, sending, receiving & storing emails on this stunning handset. The user can surf the Web on the Motorola AURA by selecting the WAP browser which allows the user to enjoy a mobile Web experience whenever the user desires. The previous poster must either have a serious envy problem. Giving this luxury an incredible 5% on design borders on laughable.

Granted, this mobile phone is extraordinarily expensive, but I've used it for three weeks & as someone who reviews phones, can say it is the most beautiful, well built, stylish phone ever.

The features on the phone are average, where as the design is horrible. You are literally unable to type texts quickly, & for some reason, when I pressed Accept Call, It rejected it?

I hate this phone, I should have bought an LG KC550 Orsay!
