Our Motorola MILESTONE Review

The Motorola MILESTONE is a 3G Smartphone complete with a slide opening casing & a huge colour touch screen. This Smartphone has a capacitive touch screen which supports a high colour display up to sixteen million colours on a 3.7 Inch sized screen complete with a four hundred & eighty pixel by eight hundred & fifty four pixel screen resolution. This screen supports a multi touch input method & an automatic turn off function. The top section of the slide opening casing carries the 3.7 Inch touch screen & the lower section of this slide opening casing has a full QWERTY keyboard & a navigation control which can be revealed when the casing in its slide open state. It comes with a sleek black coloured casing which looks stylish & sophisticated. The Motorola MILESTONE supports an Android operating system version 2 complete with a stunning user interface. This Smartphone measures 1.37cm in depth, 6cm in width & 11.58cm in height which is a compact size when considering this handsets 3.7 Inch touch screen & the many technologies & features incorporated into this Smartphone. It weighs one hundred & sixty five grams which is a solid weight & gives this casing the quality feel it deserves.

A built in music playing feature allows the user to enjoy playing & listening to their music on their Smartphone & this music playing feature supports popular music formats such as MP3, WMA music format, WAV & eAAC+ formats. The Motorola MILESTONE comes with a video playing feature which allows the user to play high quality videos in MPEG4 video format, WMV, H263 & H264 formats. This integrated video player supports video playback at up to twenty four frames per second which provides a clear viewing experience. It has an integrated five megapixel digital camera complete with a camera capture key located on the side of the casing which is in a perfect position when the user is taking a shot. This camera feature comes with a built in dual LED flash which adds light to those darker surroundings & an automatic focus feature will automatically ensure a focused photo is captured. There is a built in image stabiliser feature which will counteract any small movements made by the user when the user is taking a shot & picture geo tagging function allows the user to capture a picture whilst storing its location which is possible thanks to the built in GPS navigation feature. Its five megapixel camera supports video recording capabilities allowing the user to capture their memories as a moving video recording.

This Smartphone supports 3G HSDPA & HSUPA technology which provides high speed connectivity to the Web. The Motorola MILESTONE has a memory card slot which means the user can insert a memory card which is up to thirty two gigabytes in size. When the user wishes to transfer data between their Smartphone & other devices the user can use a wireless Bluetooth® connection or a micro USB connection between their MILESTONE & the other chosen compatible device. It's built in EDGE & GPRS technology provides fast data transfer rates when the user is transferring data between the Motorola MILESTONE. A rechargeable battery provides up to three hundred & fifty hours of battery standby time or up to six & a half hours of GSM talk time when full charged & the user is using their Smartphone. It works over quad band GSM networks & HSDPA networks 900 & 2100. The Motorola MILESTONE supports WiFi® WLAN technology which means the user can connect to the Internet when at home, in the office or out an about by gaining a WiFi® connection via a wireless LAN or hotspot.

The MILESTONE comes with a variety of call features which include a conference calling feature & a speaker phone call feature. When the user wishes to talk to more than one contact per call then a conference call can be made as it works like a meeting type call experience allowing the user talk to a group of contacts on one call. If the user wishes to have a hand free call experience where the user can hear their caller over the Smartphone's speakers & built in microphone allows the users voice to be heard by their contact, then a speaker phone call can be made. A built in HTML Internet browser allows the user to enjoy a Google search facility on their large touch screen. The user can enjoy this mobile Internet experience & gain access to their favourite websites. The Motorola MILESTONE comes with a direct email service which allows the user to use their Smartphone as a portable office as the user can communicate via email with their business contacts, friends & family. As well as communicating via email the user can create & share a text message, multimedia picture message or enjoy an instant messaging communication with the compatible messaging contacts. An instant messaging service is like an online text chat between two compatible users & allows the user to enjoy a mobile messaging conversation on the move. There is an integrated assisted GPS navigation feature which allows the user to enjoy a geo tagging feature when capturing pictures & the user can find out locations or nearby places of interest on their Smartphone.

Great phone. I had it for over 4 months now & I have not had any problems with it. Its the same size as an iPhone 4G.

This is my first Smartphone & I have to say WOW! Going from a very nice Samsung U900 Soul to this is a massive leap in to a different world. The feel is amazing, the screen so bright & clear, the touch screen works perfectly & so quick. The keyboard could have had slightly bigger & more shaped keys but its still works well & I love the D pad, its works brilliantly after you have got used to it. & the sticky out antenna works very well as a support for your right thumb. Using Facebook is dead easy, as is using the Internet generally, just like on your PC. Wish it had come with Flash but that's due soon with the 2.2 update. Android is superb, & the whole phone is much better than my friends iPhone 3G or 3GS. It's a good try at beating the iPhone 4 too, which is a credit. Think Milestone2 will beat it though. Overall, very very pleased & still smiling at it amazing talents.
