I advise you NOT TO BUY THIS PHONE because it is the rubbish phone & it is very slow on the Internet so DON'T buy this phone because you can buy top of the range phones like Nokia N95 or Sony Ericsson.

Hi all.

Pros.
I have had this phone for around 8 months. I have had no problems with the battery life. I have the thing glued to my face most of the time & am a serial texter & still only have to charge it every two weeks or so. It's not hard. You sleep for about 6 to 8 hours a day so I just plug it in when I go to bed when it needs charging. I love the pink colour & pink keypad. Having a flip phone stops me from calling people in my pocket & I got a great deal from 3. I also send a lot picture messages which this seems to do easily.

Cons.
As I can see from other reviews I am not the only one who thinks that the keypad is fiddly. I have long nails & do struggle to text sometimes & quite often send the wrong words if I do not double check what I wrote. I also hate the fact that I have to delete the texts one at a time. I send anywhere between 150 to 300 texts a week & get tired of having to delete them all the time. It has quite a large memory but when it is full it does not delete the oldest messages to allow you to read the new ones. It took me ages to figure out what the little grey message envelope meant at the top of the screen.

Overall.
An average to good phone. I got a great deal from 3 which was my main reason for selecting the phone. I don't think I would get another one though & would research my phone more before signing a contract. Going into a shop & feeling the phone gives you a good idea about its usability. Hope this helps someone to make an informed decision.

I've had this phone for a year & love it. I find it very easy to use & text with. One person mentioned it's a hassle because you can't delete bulk quantities of texts & I suppose this is the only inconvenience I've noticed, but there's loads of space for texts anyway. It's time for me to change contracts & would get the exact same phone for this year if I could find a suitable contract. Absolutely love it.

I've had this phone for 7 months, & I want to get a new phone as soon as possible. It is a basic phone, it doesn't do much & the camera is really bad.

First of all, I'll start with the design, it's a lovely looking phone but once you drop it bang it (even gently) against something, the whole surface is ruined. I dropped it (not from a big height mind you) after about 2 weeks of having it, & it looks like I have had it for over 2 years with the amount of scratches after one fall!

Another thing about this phone, is the act that its quite bulky, it's too long! This could just be a problem of my own but it certainly bothers me. The key pad is not very durable, & it is hard to use, all the keys are joined together so it is quite easy to hit off another key while trying to press another.

I know many people say, that you don't buy the phone for the camera (that's what a digital camera is for) but I mean really, the camera is so basic, you could barely make out shadows at times.

It is quite basic, you cannot customise it with themes, most things are quite limited to change another thing that really annoyed me was you cannot delete your messages all together you have to delete them one by one.

As I have said it is a basic phone, so if your looking for a phone that calls & texts, this is for you!

I have read all of the other reviews of this phone & felt I needed to give my honest opinion now that I have had 1 years use of the U890. It has been a very good all round phone to use & I have had no problems with battery life at all. The deal I am on with 3 made me use all features of the phone, which means I have made video calls, lots of texts & MMS & also downloads, which the phone has handled with ease & simplicity. I really think you need to ask yourself what you need from a phone before you buy & I can honestly say this phone has done what is says on the tin.

The camera is not the greatest asset but if you want to take good snaps, use a camera is what I say. I love the MP3 player which is easy to use & have had no problems with Bluetooth & USB connection to my p.c. My U890 is now being upgraded, but I don't know what to get, so any ideas, please give me some guidance.

This is a great looking phone but sadly does not match the Nokia range for signal strength in fact my ZTE was far better than this & always on 3G where this phone has a problem even finding a decent gms signal.

Battery life is good, connection to PC is very easy & reliable.

The one thing I have found is the dreaded poor icon & text on both screens, the dreaded white shadow text that makes the screen look like it was meant for a 3 year old. Why can they not allow us to choose our own test colours & size?

One big thing that I hate is that you cannot customise the quick menu launch keys they are both pre set, why?

Overall I feel that LG is treating its customers like little kids with very little option to really customise the phone, it is time they woke up & realised the customer deserves better.

My opinion stick with Nokia or if you want to go with 3 mobile find a ZTE as it will offer better signal.

I want to get this mobile but I don't understand what everyone means by short battery life- does this mean it won't last long or does it mean that I will just have to keep charging it every few days?

Great features, key board is some what fiddly. (You need match-stick fingers to operate). The big let down is the battery life, after having the phone for the first week I could not believe that any state of the art phone could have such poor battery life. I thought the battery must be defective & obtained a replacement battery. This gave the same results, approx. 24 hours stand by & less than 40 mins talk time. I see other reviewers have the same problem.

DON'T BY UNLESS YOU WANT TO RETURN TO the STONE AGE.

Love this phone, is perfect in all ways & has great battery life, only downside is the computer software only links with it if you uninstall then reinstall the USB driver each time you use it, which is slightly annoying, apart from that its great.

Great phone, although over time, I noticed a few problems. -The camera that twists round lost its grip & now it is loose, so I cannot position it properly. -The MMS feature frankly does not work, it just gives you an error message. -I had a lot of pictures stored on the phone & also over time, the memory got corrupted & it can no longer recognise some of them. -Infra Red does not work at all. & never used to either. (Should have come with Bluetooth) Apart from the minor problems above, I was pleased with this phone, as the screen is crisp & adequate for gaming etc.

Got this phone as an upgrade on 3, had it now for two months & I can't fault it, it has all the stuff on it that I need & works very well. As for the key pad, I have large hands & fingers, but I have no problem when using it. All in all a very good phone & with loads of stuff packed in & for what I need, it is just the job!

I love this phone! I was a bit worried about the battery life, having had a Sony Ericsson K750i with a standby battery life of 400hrs! It's not too bad at all & I've bought a car charger & just put it on every few days when I'm traveling to work. Also the manufacturer states that there is no need to let the battery drain before recharging, so no problems here.

The phone is gorgeous looking in pink & full of fabulous features. It's easy to use, having had the Sony Ericsson, I've had no problems changing. The only thing that I didn't like was the front screen did not come on unless you opened the handset, & this was a bit of a pain as I couldn't tell if I had messages or see the time. Just realised today that if you hold one of the buttons down on the front, the front screen does come on without opening! This makes much sense, as it means the front light doesn't come on with just knocking the phone in your bag. Software extremely easy to use to & it's just drag & drop. The handset is extremely light & slim. Only thing is the 1.3 camera could be better, but doesn't bother me as I have a great digital camera!

In summary, delighted with this handset! Oh, & in answer to the previous review, you can turn off predictive text!

Help can someone please advise me very soon, I have gone thru 2 upgrades from 3 Nokia N70 & 6280 I have had Nokias for years & now have been very disappointed with the quality. I have been offered an LG U890 or Motorola V3X read tons of reports & now not keen on the V3X as the battery life seems very short & text messaging is very hard, Can anyone please tell out of the 2 I should get I only have 2 days to make my mind up. Thanks.

In a word 'sexy'. Having upgraded from a Nokia 6680 'brick', I'm delighted with this phone. Unlike the Nokia, it's very easy to use, very slim for a 3G phone & the camera takes amazing pictures on the highest resolution. It's available on the 3 network now. My only reservation is regarding the sockets on the side of the phone, they appear to 'hinge' open on rubber cord & I'm concerned about how long they might last for. Still, we don't keep our mobiles for that long before upgrading, do we?

I'm not a LG U890 owner :( but I love the phone to bits :) . Can anyone tell me, is the phone available in the UK? And if it's not available what is the release date for this Kool phone? Look a mega phone in style status & piled high with features. It's got a music player, video recorder, video streaming, 1.3 MP camera, rotate camera, MMS, email, Bluetooth & best of the best it is 3G, the latest must have technology. Kool phone can't wait to get it. Good site for phone info, thanks.
