This phone was good for the first 3 weeks. After that, the vibrate function died. Then, the camera got dust in it. I know this is easy to solve, & I scraped this out, but it kept happening. I have since given up with it. The user interface isn't very easy to navigate, the buttons click annoyingly, meaning that you can't do anything mildly discreetly, the Bluetooth function sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't, & it recently just deleted all of my music for no reason.

Do NOT BUY THIS PHONE. IT IS VERY OLD FASHIONED, & DOES NOT WORK.

First of all my Orange LG U300 just died after ongoing heavy use so it lasted as a phone.

I have had old LG's & found the interface disturbingly similar to phones 3 years older than it.

The build is shoddy & I had many problems with it including forgetting theirs a SIM card in it & the front screen breaks if any pressure applied, battery is poor & the keypad is hard to use.

This phone is stuck in the wrong time & LG move on!

I've had just one problem with my LG U300 phone, the battery.

To find another one seems to be impossible, there is just one possibility, to order it directly to LG but you have to wait for 2 Months.

I got this phone yesterday £29.99 pay as you go & am quite surprised by it wish the front screen was colour but it displays all you need to know which is handy screen is great & can use some Sony Ericsson K700i wallpapers & they look great! MP3 player is what shocked me I love my music LOUD & it's loud enough for me! The volume of the phone is 7 & it's loud on the speakers but when you add the little volume on the headphones I was very impressed (put my now dead Nokia N73 with head phones to shame)does get a bit fuzzy though if phone volume is at max.

One thing that's been annoying me is the up arrow of the D pad it's really difficult to press I thinks it' should be lower from the hinges but I have long nails! Just think everything could be raised as its all quite flat. Bluetooth is great to I am not sure about the battery charged it for a really long time so I'll have to see.

A great little phone & mp3player & screen! Camera 1.3 mega pixels so there's nothing I can say, the rotating thing you have to do yourself which I found funny.

Phone looks good but battery is dismal. I bought the phone 3 weeks ago & returned it to the 3 store after 1 week due to extremely poor battery life. They changed the battery advising me to charge for 16 hours! This I did only to have the same problem. I returned to store yesterday, the manageress remembered me but refused to do anything, as at second visit I didn't have the receipt with me. I threw an almighty wobbly & she decided she would change phone as a favour!

Charged the battery as instructed, I have said it to make 5 calls & yes, you've guessed it, battery is almost flat again. I've had mobile phones ever since they appeared in the UK but never had a problem like this.

N.B. I am intending to complain direct to 3 & also LG, I suggest you guys do the same.

Absolutely terrible standby time, quoted 220hrs more like 22hrs & if you use it to call anybody battery life is further shortened. I am on a 3 contract & I hate it with a passion, it spends more time on charge than when it's in use. Steer well clear!

This is a really good phone. The thing I hate is the headset that is included with the phone. But it got Bluetooth so a Bluetooth wireless headset can always be used. Bought this phone because of the design. Bad thing about this phone, it only has 2 menu themes & you kind of get bored that you always see the same menu. Should be able to download other like the Sony Ericsson's phones.

This phone is on a 3 contract - the deal is good but the phone battery life is woeful. I have used mobile phones for 25 years & never had to recharge one as much as this apart from in the early days of brick size phone & car size battery. Operation is tricky with very small buttons - I was just beginning to forgive the useless battery when the phone got stuck in vibration mode & had to be sent off for repair. Unfortunately need a 3G phone for show.

I was really happy with my phone while the battery worked! Now - every day I get so annoyed at the damn thing. I am going to take it back one more time & if 3 don't give me a replacement phone then I will be changing carriers as soon as I am out of contract & probably not going to use an LG again.

Same problems with battery as other reviews, extremely frustrating: 3 services sent me new handset with old battery after last 'repair'. Purchasing a new battery is impossible in this area or on the net.

I feel trapped with a nearly useless phone, while still paying 3 monthly. Help!

*sigh*

Looks good but the battery is bad. Initially the battery lasted 2 days max, but now it needs charging after approx 24h hrs & the phone is only 3 weeks old. BTW I am not convinced it's a new model & think it's a refurbished model they have palmed off on me.

Battery currently sent back for 'repair' which in itself is a pain.

So not very impressed.

Don't get this phone unless you are prepared to put up with a battery issue. Had two now both have exactly the same problem. After a short amount of use the phone beeps & displays low battery but if you switch it off & then on it will go back to full charge again. You will also not get anything like the standby time associated with it. Been in for repair three times. 3 say they have fixed it, but it is exactly the same when I use it. I have had one person from the repair center say it is a known issue & can't be repaired but the support people deny this. Or they did last time I spoke to them. Bit of a shame really as it is quite a nice phone. If you do decide to get one you will regret it.

The phone is OK, nothing special, things I have a problem with are the supplied headphones, they are terrible, the ear pieces are too large to fit in your ear (I can't even squeeze them in & I don't have small ears) subsequently the quality of the audio is very poor, which negates the whole purpose of using the phone as a media player, also, why is there no 'music only' option so you can use the phone as an MP3 player on a plane?

This phone is billed by LG as being 'large' as a media player, yet it fails miserably on this front, such a shame as with a couple of fixes this could have been a nice phone.

You can't fault it, may be if you get the Orange one you can, but the silver has a 2 tone thing, great camera! So clear, & has Bluetooth, Internet, what more can you ask? Can upload pics on Internet, got MP3 player.

I had two phones in less than 40 days, first one kept going flat within 2 days, sometime the phone will beep to say its flat, all I then did was switch off the phone remove the battery & replace, then it shows full but only last 2 days so much for 220 hours standby.

Is it me? Ian

It'is an average phone, a good starter for 3G, but I think it could have been made a tad smaller. The outer casing is too plain, the keypad is awful. The features are decent & ok. But keep your options open before selecting this handset.

Great with all its fancy features but useless if unable to be supported by the battery life. Had phone for 3 weeks & battery needs recharging after 40 hours of standby. Would love to play with its features but afraid that the phone will run out of charge.

Damned good phone, let down by Three's attempts to force us into their multimedia. It's a pain in neck trying to find old calls: the opening screen should have one multimedia button not three, the others for basic phone functions.

Also, the MP3 lacks a random choice function. It's missing a radio but the MSN messenger is great, so long as 3 don't overcharge after October. It is essentially a free international pager! The phone is also ugly, no matter what colour one chooses! It uses micro SD (not mini SD). Carphone warehouse are doing 1gb microSDs for £30 at the moment which is about the cheapest they'll be for a while & I can only see 2gb miniSDs.

Otherwise a well-designed phone. 1.3Mp is all that is needed for a phone. To anyone who has bought a 5Mp brick: A 3Mp dedicated camera will take better pictures than a 5Mp phone! Proper PC link software. Perhaps the days of crap PC link software are over for good? I got mine for £120 including £30 credit. That means £90 for a phone which outperforms the average £300 one. Definitely a bargain. Like all MP3 player phones, they are a million times better than iPods.

Does anybody actually know when the Nokia N72 will be in the shops in the UK? It looks like a wicked phone & I am gagging to get rid of the LG brick weighing my pockets down.

Nice phone but I would of liked to see a radio feature. No radio on a 3G phone is unbelievable but the MSN Messenger would be good to have. If the U300 had a radio I would get it, no problem, but without a radio I would be lost.

Not owned a LG phone or had a 3G phone before but this phone looks great. I'm not sure if I would buy it but it has a great specification & is a truly desirable flip open 3G phone. I know mates who own & rave about LG phones & have comments like RELIABLE, ROBUST & QUALITY, & that speaks volumes for me.
