Looks fantastic. Got it on t mobile contract. When I got it, it used to switch itself off if you shut it too hard & I got a replacement handset which did the same. & even though they 'fixed' it, it still happens 10% of the time.

Texting is hard with the tiny buttons & the screen overhanging the top 3 becomes immensely slow with higher capacity memory cards. I can't change text tone, scroll wheel feels tacky & plastic after a month has 100, 000 more problems I could mention.

However, looks stylish until the screen gets scratched & the headsets really nice, but sadly that's it for good points.

Don't get it unless you JUST want looks!

I got this phone in March & it is really good there is nothing wrong with it but on mine I have used up like no memory hardly but it is nearly full so I am quite disappointed about that. Anyway this phone is the best & it doesn't break if you drop it on hard floor because that happened to me.

This phone is so good & I recommend it to people especially younger users.

I've had this phone since it came out. & I have seen these posts well before I bought it. I don't have any of the problems these people are having. I wonder if it's simply their incapability to use technology. The limitations of the phone, well it is well discussed here. Be consumer smart. Do the research & make & informed decision then live with the consequences.

I've only had this phone for a few months, one of the worst phones I've ever had. Aesthetically, it's a rather attractive looking phone, the mirror finish is beautiful. When converting the storage system to mass storage, you can fit lots of files on there, & they're easy to access, & the volume on the media player can get pretty loud, but personally, I don't use it all that often.

Other than that.
- the battery life is horrendous, I have to charge it every day, & a phone call eats up half the bar.
- Texting is a tad frustrating, the end call button is too close to the number keys, so sometimes I end up cancelling the message by mistake when typing an E or F. Especially frustrating when typing particularly long texts.
- I can't receive many texts either.
- the camera features are little hard to manoeuvre, & can take a little while to figure out where (in my case) the zoom is. But camera wise, the quality of pictures are great. Comparable to my digital camera.
- Other small bits, but would be from my own preferences, but the scroll button doesn't do it for me.

Overall, it's not a bad phone, & I might've been unlucky with my particular phone in regards to receiving only 50% of my texts. But I really would recommend another type of phone if you want a phone that actually works as a phone, & not a media centre.

I got my phone four days ago & I must say that so far I am very happy with it (It is still the honeymoon period). The phone looks fantastic, is easy to carry & so far, every time that I have pulled it out to do something, people look at it. It is an eye catcher.

However there are a few things that I think could have gotten a little 'push'. The volume of the handset for one thing is really low compared to most of the phones that I have used in the past & thus making it difficult to actually pick up the phone. The vibration too is a lot lighter than my previous Nokia who felt like an earthquake had hit! I am currently working on my own 'sensitivity' in order to feel the phone when it does vibrate in my pocket or to hear it when I am sleeping.

Another feature that needed a bit more help was the selection of tones for SMS's. The phone only offers 4 & I am currently looking for ways to increase the message tone library. I think I'll find a way soon.

It is true that without a memory card the phone cannot hold much so I do suggest that you buy a memory card so that you can put more things in it.

Now it is also true that the phone's visibility in the sunlight is a lot harder than with other handsets, but what do you expect, it's a mirror! Which brings me to the next thing, I HIGHLY recommend that you buy some sort of protection for the screen. Mine hasn't been scratched or anything, but since IT IS A MIRROR you might want to invest in something to protect it.

I haven't tried the handset's Bluetooth yet, so I can't speak of it, nor have I tried the actual software. I find that I haven't had to use it to transfer songs & pictures onto the phone.

I know a few users have complained about the scrolling button & the actual keypad but I haven't had any issues with them AT ALL. I found them to be VERY EASY to use.

I haven't had any issues with network reception, if anything it is better than my previous phone at that. However I have had a few questions about the battery life of the phone. Don't get me wrong it can handle the 3 days that LG claims, but I was more 'concerned' about the fact that the battery bar goes from 2 to 3 at times, so I think that the reading isn't very accurate, but that is a minor detail in my opinion.

I do have one more thing though, & that is more of a question, the phone came with a headset for the MP3 player & what not, but does it come with a hands free kit too? I haven't seen a microphone anywhere on the headset so I was wondering if this was common.

All in all I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a good looking & quite functional phone. Some of the reviews I had read on here did worry me but I am very happy with the phone so far!

Hi my names kirsty, if you are even thinking of buying this phone I would not recommend it to anyone. I have had it for a few months & all I have had problems with it I have found that after a few months your phone will start freezing & you can't do anything about it. The design is good because of the mirror but that's it features are OK but could be better DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE IT IS NOT WORTH the MONEY OR the TIME!

One of the worst phones ever.
- Battery is the worst, lasts a day if not less.
- Looks very slim & pretty, but limited on what you can do on it.
- Love the mirror.
But what has let me down is the battery, constantly worrying if I have enough to get me home etc. Never again, my new phone arrives tomorrow, I can't wait.

I liked the shine for a few weeks but after a while it started to annoy me. You can't change the message tone a little jingle noise. The zoom on the camera not very good & it's very hard to take a good picture without it blurring. I found the scroll slightly annoying & hard to control. I using this phone outdoors in the sun is impossible don't even try.

I love the mirror & I had to get a memory card because of the rubbish memory.
The screen also cracks very easily.
I have only had it 4 month but I am getting the Sony Ericsson k660i tomorrow.
It's a good phone for not much really, but the most annoying is the texting I can't get my fingers around the buttons there so hard to use.

I wouldn't suggest getting one.

This phone was given to me for valentines, it had to go back to the retailer because it would shut off whenever it was slide close. I got another phone now it would sometimes go off when I slide it up, & now when you think it is on it turned itself off & the power saving mode is not on. It is very difficult to get music downloaded from the PC even if it is the correct format. My PC is showing that there is music but I cannot see them on the phone I am not enjoying this phone at all, I am trying to sell it & buy another, not LG! Very dissappointing.

OK the phone looks great & is so slim! But with my birthday coming up & my parents asking if I have researched into my great want of this phone I found this website & the reviews are so mixed I am not sure if I do want it anymore!

I don't mind not having music. That is what my iPod is for, but I do care if the pictures are awful because being a girl with lots of friends who I spend lots of time with I feel the need to take pictures of everything, & I like them to be good!

If people don't like this phone please can they recommend one which is very good & on a cheap a deal as Orange has this (15 pounds a month, unlimited texts, 100 minutes) as I love texting & don't want to break my bank balance!

Thanks Emily.

The only thing wrong with this phone is that is scratches so easily. I have had it for 2 or 3 weeks & the back is all scratched from just laying it. So just buy a protector for it. Other than that, I lOVE IT! I don't regret buying it & everybody loves it. I like the mirror type screen too. AWESOME, if your thinking about buying it. Do IT.

I have had this phone since Christmas as a friend of mine said it was quite good & I was stuck on what phone to upgrade to I had the Samsung E900 before this & I must say I like my LG shine better than my Samsung, there are a few bad points to this phone though like, the volume is rubbish when your outside, when your inside its fine, & also from time to time I have to reset my settings because my pictures won't show up I don't know whether this is a common problem or whether my phones a bit faulty?

I love the screen as a mirror as I am so vain I am forever checking my makeup & hair in it, & all my friends absolutely love the phone as they borrow it for the mirror to, the screen does get loads of finger prints over it but that's why they supply a screen cleaner with it, & the buttons are a bit of a pain because they are flat but overall it's an amazing looking phone & the scroll wheel I'd great but sometimes it ceases up but apart from that I love it.

Definitely get it if you are a girly girl. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Lisa xx.

As much as I loved this phone when I bought it, I can't help but shine on the negative points. Please whatever you do, don't waste your money on this heap of junk, seriously.

I loved the slide tones at first, but then they seemed to give me a headache, & with lack of options, it got boring so I eventually turned it off.

I also loved the alarm, but that also got annoying, so that went to vibrate, because possibly the only good thing about this phone is the sturdiness of the vibration feature.

I was very, VERY annoyed with the inability to personalise the phone with your message tone, & the more than your health is worth, trying to get a nice clean picture, without losing an eye from the picture because it's so difficult to change the contrast settings. It's either too bright or too dark, disappointing!

The charging slot, it's a nightmare, why put it on the side of the phone, it gets too difficult to use.

TEXTING! The silly phone hardly ever recognises words you submit, you have to manually submit which is too much effort.

I've always been a Nokia fan but after years of loyalty to Nokia I've decided to let go & try the KE970 Shine. BIG mistake! Yes it's a nice phone no arguments there it also looks good but it's pretty useless when it comes to getting calls. I don't think I've ever had such a long MISSED CALL list in my life. The ringtones are so low (even when set to MAX) that I just don't hear it when it's in my bag or pocket. I've taken it back to the supplier but they all seem to be quite ignorant to the problem. Looking at all the reviews I now know that I am not going crazy. To be honest I can't wait for my upgrade.

Well I got the LG shine 2 days ago & let me tell you it is the most stunning phone I have ever used. I previously had a Nokia 6280 & Sony Ericsson w880i. But out of the three the LG shine is by far the prettiest. The features are really good like it has MP3 camera. However the features could of been slightly better I think there should of been FM radio, themes, & also the sound quality when on loudspeaker could be better, also the pictures come out quite white & pale makes you look like a ghost. But it is beautiful phone the keypad is also lovely. I think the design is spot on & the shine stainless steel affect is stunning. The usability is also quite easy as the buttons are nice big & chunky. Also when you text each button makes a different noise make it easy to create a text message. I also love the affect when you dial a number how the number show as it is really appealing. The phone is very colourful makes good noises & generally is stunning you will never go wrong with the shine. However the back of the phone does catch scratches & has to be taken care of as it is stainless steel. The phone is a glamorous accessories even the little cleaner is so stylish. I am slightly disappointed from the headset as they are quite big & don't fit in your ear as well. My way of altering is on the two headphones there is a ring around them covering the wires, just remove them & put on some ordinary black sponges it works better & fits in your ear better. The phone is splendid & I feel it will last I definitely recommended it to everyone out there.

My friend got this phone yesterday. We had trouble using the Bluetooth as it just froze every so often. It may have been my Samsung E900's fault though, after the phone had received the files. It would only play 2 out of three. I've just ordered a pink LG Shine from Orange. Was this a mistake? If you don't like the phone, there are still some things that you must like or think are OK. You lot are so negative!

I got this phone yesterday to replace a Sony K550i (a replacement for another Sony my toddler threw down the toilet). I have to say I am in love, it looks beautiful & is really easy to use. I really don't know what phone some people are using when they complain of being unable to use MP3's as ringtones or connect to their PC or use Bluetooth. I have also not had a problem keeping the screen fingerprint free & there is no need to touch the screen (this will be a problem I assume, for those unable to go through life without touching everything excessively! ).

Last night within half an hour of taking it off charge I had used Bluetooth for custom MP3 ringtones from my old phone & set one as a default ringtone. I had connected to my laptop both via Bluetooth & USB & transferred sound & image files (the phone simply shows as a removable disk in windows explorer & you can just drag & drop the files).

My only issues with regards to set up were that I could not Bluetooth ALL the contacts from my old SIM to my new in one go, I had to do them one by one, which was a pain, but I don't have many as I am past the age where the number of contacts on my mobile phone determines my popularity & it gave me the chance to have a friend review. The manual is not good either, there are too many random notes & not enough explanation of functions.

I do agree the buttons either side of the roller wheel are a little hard to press as they are so small but to access menus you have so many options to press you hardly need to use them. For example in a menu, you can either scroll & press the wheel & button, you can either press the corresponding keypad number to the required option or you can scroll down & press one of the larger side buttons (next to the wheel with the little blue light).

The phone its self looks & feels lovely, I like the fact you can use the camera without opening the slider so it looks like a little digital camera & I love the fact when the slider is closed it automatically keylocks (great in the presence of phone obsessed two year olds).

Having had Sony phones for the last 3 years moving to this has not been difficult at all as it's an easy to use phone & keypad habits will only take a week or so to break.

I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone who has basic computer & phone literacy as I think a distinct lack of these will cause problems (resulting in bad reviews). No phone is ever perfect as different makes & models always contain features & functions unavailable on other otherwise perfect phones. I am sure as time goes on there will be functions on my old Sony I will miss but there will be new ones I also have not had before. All in all I am very happy :).

I've had this phone now for 15 month's loved it but can't wait to upgrade. Having few problems now think it's ready for it,

The battery never lasts longer than a day an half on standby & if your talking on it half a day it's been like this now for 6 months or so.

The phone switches off & getting it back on is a problem have to take of the back & play about with it!

Using the charger is hard work too can't let the phone go off or it won't charge. (then the same problem as above).

Don't let this put you off as the phone has been good, just had its faults as all phones.

Dropped it loads too just got few chips in the edges & work with kids they played with it & it sort of survived LOL.

I got this phone about 2 months ago, ever since I have had only a few troubles. The camera had flipped & was taking pictures upside down. The screen had cracked very easily. Things just weren't running smoothly, but all in all it is a nice phone. I left the camera alone for a while & my pictures returned to normal but sadly my screen is still cracked. I have the pink LG Shine & my friend has the silver one.

But I like the phone. But I do warn you this phone can break easily!

This phone looks great & I love the keys. I loved the Motorola RAZR for the similar keys & this is why I chose this phone.

But, I cannot get the music I downloaded to the external memory to play as MP3 despite having contacted LG on in January. (It plays one song then stop. You have to manually make it play another.) It is a pain having to carry an MP3 player when the phone should be able to suffice. I have no desire to have my phone on show while travelling just to listen to music.

I've had no reply from LG over two months later other than acknowledging my queries & telling me they had passed them on. How helpful is that?

Now the phone shuts itself completely off whenever it feels like it, even sitting alone on a table & when the battery is fully charged.

Overall, I am pretty disillusioned with this phone & I doubt that I will ever choose anything LG again because of their lack of customer service.

Really easy to use, probably won't even need the manual as it's all just common sense. Possibly a really bold statement to make, but could be the best phone I've had so far (out of 6).

MP3 on the phone is fine, easy to transfer music, advisable to buy a memory card that's what I did (2Gb) really cheap to buy online & means you have plenty of room for as many MP3'S & pictures as you want.

This is a great phone I've had it for about 6 months. Although the other reviews say it easily breaks I'd say it's pretty much indestructible. The amount of times I've dropped it (stone floors! ), sat on it, lost it & generally misused it is astonishing & yet it's fine. It does pick up scratches really easily (mostly on the back) but the screen remains pretty much perfect. I'll agree when I first got it the battery life was extremely short but it seemed to get better, don't know how that works but now I can use it for days with no problems. The only downfall is the reception perhaps just in Scotland but it's pretty miserable. I use it on virgin but I've heard it just generally bad for reception. I have to be at a window in my house to get any bars at all. So that's the choice you have to make. Cool design with next to no reception!? I am pretty much sick of the reception issue & whilst I love this phone & its design I am going to get a new on pretty soon! Though (don't get me wrong) highly recommended!

I think the phone is not as good as most of these reviewers make out.

The slide is solid & for the most part the design is good, & it is pretty but the screen IS weak, broke very easily.

The features on the phone are VERY limited. I Bluetooth a music file which was MP4 not realising that it can't play but now I can't get access to it to delete it. It should at least show the file EVEN if it can't play it!

This also relates to just not having direct control over what is on the phone. Why not?

The camera is DARK! No flash as I knew, the pictures are darker than normal.

I've never been able to download it to my computer & I am not bothered to go through ALL the bother of getting it to work.

The limit on text messages is such an ancient feature too.

Overall, I HATE the phone & I will NEVER get an LG again unless they improve the features on their phones as I am told the Viewty has similar limitations!

The phone is good, sturdy, good looking & does most things reasonably well.

However, the camera is shocking. It claims to be 2 megapixel but it takes VGA standard pictures & has a really annoying delay on it, so when you push the button to take a picture you have to wait about 3 seconds for anything to happen.

Secondly the phone is so fragile, it's unbelievable. Sure you can buy a case but that takes away what the phone is about. Looks! I dropped my phone once from literally about 3 inches off the ground onto soft carpet & that caused the screen to crack & now the phone doesn't turn on.

In conclusion, you will love the phone for about 3 months but get really bored, annoyed & scared that it will crack at any minute after that.

I have had this phone a few months now but after having it only a few weeks it began playing up. It freezes a lot, the phone froze when I put it on charge then the charger wouldn't work I tried removing the battery & re inserting it then turning the phone on but even this didn't work it eventually decided to turn back on & begin charging.

I have a memory card in the phone & when you are looking through your pictures or MP3s it takes a long time to scroll through them & tends to have a mind of its own.

I also find that trying to get signal with the phone is hard compared to other Nokia's or Samsung phones I have had in the past where finding a signal in my house has been easy where as with this phone it can get a bit annoying as in places where everyone else on the same network can get signal easily I have a problem doing so!

Since I got this phone a few days after it was released, I wish I had never chosen it. It's not only me that has the same problems, a few of my friends have the phone too & all have the same problems.

I am on contract & an already looking for a replacement phone because this one has really got on my nerves!

I got this phone approximately 4 months or so ago. When I first got it, & up until an hour ago I thought it super. It had everything I wanted, camera Bluetooth etc, separately I bought a 2GB memory card.

But today it started playing up. I took a few photos with my friend & then went to put them on the computer. I plugged it into the USB, it restarted & the photos had disappeared to be replaced with a little folder picture with an arrow coming out which I clicked & it said not supported.

Later I restarted it & put it on charge to see if that helped. Now it won't turn on. The screen saying KE970 comes up, then it freezes. Tried everything, took out the battery, plugged to computer, put on charge. & still just freezes. I am going to complain to Orange as soon as I next go to an Orange shop to get a replacement.

Don't get me wrong, the phone was great & I was thrilled when I got it. It's just been today when it started crashing etc. I would have recommended it to anyone until about 2 hours ago. Do buy it, just be careful & make sure you have it insured or have some form of cover if it happens to you what happened to me.

Easy to use & really pretty, in fact so pretty you will be paranoid about scratching it & cleaning it every day, but the features, well I cannot complain enough about the multimedia player or lack of it.

You cannot create playlists, & it finds all mp3s in the MP3 folder of your phone & memory card, including default ringtone sounds & puts them in alpha order, you then have to manually remove the default sounds one by one unless you want to listen to them randomly when in shuffle mode interrupting your own music! You can choose to play single songs by browsing to them, but who just wants to click on each song one at a time to avoid the default ones?

When you get a call the music stops dead, the remote control headset doesn't make any noise, it just sounds like your phone has broken, after the call you have to start the music manually again, if you get stuck in the wrong menu this means the remote is useless & you're fishing the mirror out of your pocket.

You also cannot do anything while the music is playing, no menus, no texts, nothing, you have to stop & exit the music player, cutting the music off, I expected this in older phones, but in newer models like this, I wanted more for my money.

The sliding wheel on the front feels like it will roll loose at any moment & offers little accurate control, I am always selecting the wrong item in the menu! I couldn't get any of my 3GP videos or mpeg4 videos to play at all, it forever said 'file format not supported' unless it was one I filmed with the phone itself. The camera is average to good for a phone camera, & the flash is very bright, but the options do seem pretty standard.

The PC software is useless & no matter what I do will not detect the phone, & keeps asking for a port, however thankfully in this event, if you switch the phone connection settings to mass storage mode, you can just drag & drop files to the memory card or built in memory from windows,

I have used Samsung before, & the LG just feels like a poor man's Samsung wannabe, with a bit more bling & shiny.
It is going back this weekend, after just one week of use, & I am getting a g600 instead. I should never have left you Samsung, my d500 worked better than this. : (

Bought this phone in November 07, loved it. Took it back 2 weeks ago when half the screen went black. I thought that as it was only just three months old & still under warranty it would be repaired or replaced.

I've now waited two weeks to be told the screen damage is my fault by the way I was sliding the phone up, the same way everyone else does I presume!? & LG warranty doesn't cover the screen for damage. I won't be buying another one, or paying the £58 to get this one repaired. Shame because I love the look of the phone, very easy to use.

Missed a few calls because it's not really loud enough, & if I damaged the phone by using it the way it's meant to be used then it's obviously too fragile. Battery life not great either. Friend had her LG Shine three days & the screen cracked.

Don't know what to go for next? Don't like saying it but think seriously before you buy this phone!

It's not difficult to use or get used too, it's probably if your in a rush or just not having control whatever it is, it's hardly an excuse to be negative on the phone. This phone is good easy to use. The scroll button is cool. It took me a while to figure out that the two little buttons next to the scroll were to move sideways though. I am listing to mine while writing this. Ha ha. Anyway good phone, buy it! It's more for girls but boys phone to. There is a memory slot by the SIM underneath the back but I haven't figured out which kind.

- the screen cracked in the second week, it was in my bag when the back fell of a door hook onto a hard floor. For such as fragile phone Nokia should have supplied a great case to go with it for protection.

- It is a slide phone with smooth external surfaces which makes it quite difficult to slide open.

- the sound quality for music playback is TERRIBLE on t
