You Can't Get Any Decent Music, So You're Stuck with Polyphonic, There Isn't A Video Camera, & the Bluetooth Hardly Works!

A nice looking phone, but that's about it. Very limited features & everything seems to be back to front. The text messaging scheme is really bad & as for the battery life its terrible just cuts out during a call even a full charge does not last long at all. Very bad so I had to sell mine.

Dude, this phone you can't even HEAR the other person talking.

I bought this as an emergency replacement (for the Bluetooth capability) while my XDA was out of action & I must say how impressed I am with it - I've only had it for a couple of days, but am getting used to the features very quickly. I'll certainly be recommending it to my friends. It's a super little phone, & takes up a lot less space in my handbag than the XDA!

Disappointed. On the box it states MP3 use. You CANNOT use MP3 files on this phone!

The L343i phone is an average mobile at a reasonable price.

Overall opinion: Great little phone! I've got the LG L343i for three weeks now & I am still happy with it. It is small & stylish en will surely get noticed, since not everybody has one. The price is just about right for what you get. In short:
+ Design
+ Bluetooth
+ I-mode connectivity
+ Loudness of the speaker
+ Battery life after full unload-load
- No mp3 ringtones/player
- No video recording feature
- Java games only available via I-mode
I was searching for a new mobile phone after my Siemens MC60 (worst buy ever...) finally died & on my prepaid phones I came across this baby. I must admit that the looks were the first thing I liked. Build quality is very well with flaps for every connection port to seal them off. The main screen gives a nice picture in many colors & the keypad is nice to work with. The battery life at first seemed a bit low, however depleting it totally & than a full recharge seemed to do well for it! I have it on now for three days, including taking pictures with the torch on, texting for about 6 messages & calling for maybe 15 minutes & it is still going!
All usual functions are further present, including caller groups with customisable ringtones & pictures so you know who's calling by his picture on the secondary screen, an agenda, world time, calculator & some other basic things.
The camera is reasonably good (well in fact after the mc60 all phone camera's are good), but it does give a nice picture on your phone screen with vga resolution & you have a led torch at your disposal (which I found out came in handy during night-time problems with my car). It does however not support any video recording function, which is a shame. They could have included this since it already has a camera.
I was a little disappointed that it didn't support mp3 ringtones (neither does it have a mp3 player) but after a search on the internet I found out that the soundchip used in this phone (as in many other polyphonic phones actually) is a Yamaha ma3 chip, meaning that you can get the quality of the ringtones up quite high if you know how to make them. Here's the trick (works also on many Samsung phones): Go to http://smaf.yamaha.com & download the wave-to-smaf converter. Than record with windows sound recorder or any other program a wave file at max. 16 kHz mono for about 20 seconds. Convert the file with the Yamaha program & upload it to the phone via either USB cable or Bluetooth. This phone accepts files of max. 200 kB which is just enough for 25 seconds of high quality ringtone! Yes it is that easy!
Memory capacity is sufficient (8MB), thanks to the Bluetooth connection you can download pictures & upload ringtones & stuff rather easily. The downside is that the phone does not accept Java games to be sent via Bluetooth, so you have to resort to I-mode to get some games (well it isn't a handheld game computer anyways). I do sometimes experience that the connection with the computer fails & turning the Bluetooth off & on the phone is the only way to fix it.
All in all I'm happy for now.

The things I was most disappointed in was the lack of ringtones, (i.e. the only ringtones on the phone are Happy Birthday & Merry Xmas???) & the strength of the signal. I live in an area where I had very little if any signal, so therefore could not download ringtones, so had to make do with these ringtones. This alone would have made me think twice before I bought the phone, my partner has a Nokia & she manages to get a signal at home, so between the ringtones & the strength o the signal I was disappointed in this phone.

i-mode is good but the this phone lacks so many features that it is dull even with the i-mode. No music player, no radio, no video player & the look of the L343i is boring. i-mode phones need more.

I want this phone but I didn't want to change my service provider to get it. It's a smart looking phone & it's best feature is the imode. LG have designed this for O2 but what about the other service providers.
