I am not a big fan of this phone.

I have one myself & I am not impressed, I bought my phone & a few days later I was having problems with it, the buttons kept falling off. Took it back to where I bought it to get it checked out. That's done. Then a few months later my touch screen buttons stop working, so I can't do anything, I can't reply to texts, call anyone, play games, listen to music, view my contact list it's just ridiculous, I do not recommend this phone to anyone.

This just just my own opinion.

I am very conscious about latest mobile features & design so I have a number of mobile phones collections. I find KU800 is best design mobile with moderate features & attractive especially for ladies but I felt its scrolling sensitivity is so higher & not user friendly.

Overall its best in his class.

This phone is a piece of useless plastic! I advise everyone not to buy it. It's constantly calling people in my pocket & the camera is just shocking! I would rather buy a Sony Ericsson. Or even a Nokia.

If you are looking for a music phone I would suggest getting the Nokia 5610. It is a great phone. My brother Joe has one & after she is finished with it, I think I'll have hers :).

Thanks for reading.

Loved the sleek style, the slider, the whole aesthetic is awesome.

My niggles are
- the earpiece volume is too quiet. Very hard to hear the other person if there is any kind of background noise.
- the touch screen on mine has stopped working reliably. I have to open & shut the phone 10 times until it decides to work. Probably a worn ribbon cable inside the handset slide mechanism but all the same, a pain : (.

So, with that in mind, if you are prepared to risk the touch screen breaking down, then go for it, certainly a stylish phone but comes with a few compromises as well.

I just bought this phone. I loved it because I knew people in the UK who had it. I love it! The slide is awesome, the picture quality is INCREDIBLE. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have radio, but I barely used that feature on my old phone anyway.

The design of this phone is great but doesn't have as much functions as a Sony Ericsson. Not many things to play around with & also the touch pad gave some problems after some time. It would just go up & down by itself & sometimes it would just stop function. You have to slide the phone down & up again in order to get the keypad re functioning.

As for Kumar's question of how to upload photos into this phone, you need the software called the LG phone manager. This software will be in the CD which should be provided when you bought this phone.

Great phone, however I am unable to get an English user manual online for this phone. Makes it very frustrating, my phone came with a French manual & because of my location it is virtually impossibe to contact the retailer I bought this phone from. Tried getting the manual online but it's so difficult. Can someone please help me?

The phone is definitely pretty on the eyes LOL, but the problem is keeping it looking pretty! I just picked it up today & have already found little niggles I have with it. I agree the sound at full volume is not good. I hate the way the light goes off while you're in the middle of doing something, then you have to push the volume keys at the side of the phone to bring the phone to life again. I can probably adjust this but the instructions are never ending & haven't yet located that particular one.

Don't like the fact that battery charge & headset plugs are one & the same. Last niggle (for now anyway) is that the touch screen is really sensitive & I find myself trying 2 or 3 times to send a simple text. I will no doubt get used to all the niggles but for such a pretty phone it's a bit of a disappointment!

Well overall just had the phone for about a week love the look but some of the features are just annoying. It might be just the user having a bad day & not knowing how to use the phone, I just can't figure out how to download songs from my laptop using the USB cord? , oh & also how do you delete all messages at once at not all individually? Why is this? but other wise its a pretty good phone but to any one who is thinking of buying it think twice don't have an impulsive buy you may regret it as I am now.

So if any one can help me with my user problems please leave a little note thanks.

My previous was a Sagem MY V55 & although it wasn't 3G, had no video, no MP3 playback & a crud VGA camera, it was still better than this LG. The battery life is appalling, I make next to zero calls, mainly text, no VF Live/web surfing & I don't play MP3s thru it & I still have to charge it every 3 days. The slide design is cool but the location of the keypad makes 1 hand txting uncomfortable & awkward as when the top is up it becomes heavy on the back end & unstable in your hand. The soft touch keys are a pain as you can easily hit the wrong one, usually resulting in the sending of a half assed text msg. There are probably more things I can fault with it but I've only had the phone for a week so haven't had a chance to find out how truly awerful this phone is.

I love this phone. The features available are good enough for day-to-day use. It's the next thing that I go for as LG Prada is not available here *sigh*. I like it so far. One problem though, I can't seem to connect my KU800 to my notebook via Bluetooth. Even the phone shop ppl don't know why after they tried to troubleshoot. Please, if anybody knows where I can refer this problem, do leave a note here. Thanks in advance.

To Jasmine, are you sure this is the phone that you own? Bcoz it has an external memory card where you can upgrade anytime to have endless songs stored inside your phone.

It scratches really easy & the memory is not very good, only holding about 24 songs. But if you want a phone that looks good & that gets you compliments this is the phone for you. I have to say it does look great though. I am happy my contract runs out in 2 months!

When compared to the Sony Ericsson W850i 3G at the same price here in New Zealand, this phone comes an unfortunately one of the worst in recent times. Plus, the touch sensitive keys don't always register you touching them.

If you're having trouble deciding. Go for the Sony. It's the same price after all :)

Hi,

I have a problem with my new LG KU800, hope you can help me?

How to install games on this cute little funky phone ;) Want to run some java application or game. I downloaded some free apps & games & upload it to the phone via Bluetooth. I upload.jar &.jad files, keeping eye on java version (MIDP 2.0). On the web it says that it is compatible with KU800. It stores in Bluetooth files. Any time I try to run.jad or. Jar file a message pop-up says 'this operation is permitted'

Can you give me a hand with it?

Thanks a lot, Martin

Great looking phone. Easy to handle once you get used to the extremely sensitive touch pad. Re features has most basics as other phones however lacks radio which is a basic nowadays, speakerphone, voice calling, is low on volume & most of all IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH MAC COMPUTERS. When I bought it in Italy from Vodafone I was told it would work with all servers, however this is not the case & I am trying to find a way to unlock it since I cannot use many features which are locked by Vodafone. Also the English version of the manual is not available on line, so I am still trying to decipher the Italian translation.

I like the phone. It's pretty. It forces you to keep it clean all the time. I don't like that battery when under 2 lines is almost dead. I do like the way it's made, very ergonomically for sms & a lot of other stuff. Very unergonomic for BT. for a phone camera the 2mpix one is brilliant. Especially compared to the kg800. I am a photographer, I should know. Touchpad gets a bit untouchable at times, like when they're a bit more greasy then usual, but I've found that once you get the hang of it it's pretty good. & fast. Task switching is nice, but can be a burden at times. MP3 playback is excellent, with very clear & crisp audio quality. I don't like the placement of the charge/USB/hands-free plug but that's just me perhaps. Best accessory for it: a micro fiber cloth.

Let me start by saying I've been using this phone for months now. & I can't begin to describe how much I hate it! Particularly as I can be quite shallow about shiny pretty things & this really pushes all the buttons visually. If only it was half as good as it looks in use. On the surface it has all the bangs & whistles, the only problem is that it does all of them in such a half point fashion. The camera is poor, it has no speaker phone which means if you use it as a phone it gets covered in grubby ear marks & the phone volume itself is quiet even on the full setting, battery life is rubbish, the MP3 function is OK. But nothing special. You cannot receive media messages above a certain size or play received video's either unless they are incredibly short, you can only choose from a handful of message tones or alarm tones. Which means my alarm is incredibly effective as all I want to do is throw my phone against a wall when it goes off of a morning. Texting outside in daylight can be difficult as the screen brightness is just not enough to be seen & the predictive text is adequate at best. I actually could go on. But I am boring myself now. Suffice to say if your only pre-requisite is having a pretty phone then buy this. If you want a phone that actually works. Avoid like the plague!

This phone looks amazing & has loads of great features on it. I bought it for my daughter who says it's really easy to use. It takes me a while to get used to new phones but she thinks it's great.
