I am just getting it with Christmas money, already ordered it & all this talk of rebooting is concerning me, but hopefully it doesn't do it often enough to bother me. Love the slimline design & the reviews I have read make me look forward to getting it.

Great Phone, touch screen works fine.

I haven't encountered the problem of rebooting. Yet.

Camera isn't fantastic but for the money it's quite good. Also the Internet may say that it is the full thing, but it is not, unless there is a setting that I have missed. Its Internet is slow without Wi-Fi but it is a usable speed.

One niggling problem is that neither 0000 or 00000 appear to be the default PIN code, as such mine is without at the moment, would love to know if anyone has found out the default PIN, I have a T Mobile SIM card. If you have this problem don't bother ringing T Mobile as the customer service people don't know anything more than those 2 codes.

I just got mine yesterday. I am used to having a pretty much rubbish phone (Siemens SL55) so this one is a whole new world for me. So I spent the day transferring my contacts over from the old phone then I hit a snag. Every time I pressed the shortcut icon at the bottom of the main screen for the contacts list it would reset the phone. I had to reset the thing back to factory settings & it's now working flawlessly, Almost. The problem now is the quick dial. I can put most of my contacts in fast dial except one friend. The phone seems to think two totally different numbers & contacts are the same so it will only let me assign one or the other. Now this doesn't have me too phased, as I can just use the contact list. But I'll that this a great phone with even better value for money. Some of the reviews I've read on it have said it's slow. I personally have never experienced any of this. If you want a cheap touch phone then you can't go far wrong on this. One last thing, if you need to reset the phone back to security settings, then the default security number is 0000.

Had this phone since 13 December 2008. Best phone ever.

The only flaws are.
- It's new & as such games etc are hard to find. This will sort itself out in due course I would imagine when they are developed.
- Crashes, mine has crashed twice since I got it, I suspect tjhe main reason was over use. The first crash was when I attempted to look at the calendar entry previous set. I have went back & looked at the same entry several times without problems. The second crash was random & I think caused by me going in & out of various applications quickly (it is a small computer & they all crash now & again).

NO PROBLEM AT ALL MAKING CALLS, I am still playing & getting used to it however I would say buy it.

PS. My son has the iPhone (expensive) & I have tried that too. Not much difference other than it has games etc.

I spent ages & I mean ages researching various phones. After a reading hundreds of reviews for various phones & looking at different specifications I finally had it down to two phones. These were the LG Viewty & LG Cookie. I weighed up the differences & decided on the LG Cookie.

I am so glad I made this decision, I was worried about the camera but it's actually pretty good. Texting is so simple & easy & the screen is sensitive but not too sensitive. The stylus is really handy although I mainly use my fingers.

The games are really good, & photo editing is amazing. The LG Cookie is very light, & very thin, so all in all very compact.

Amazing phone, if you're considering this phone then honestly, buy it!

Phone is great value for money, this was a replacement for a phone I had on O2 simplicity SIM only contract & it seems to tick all the boxes, the display is outstanding for the money & on a par with phones 3 times the price, I don't use many of the features anyway & I suspect many people are the same, however the ones I have used so far (music player etc have caused no freezing or restarts, the sound is crisp & clear, & having bought an adapter (£3 on eBay delivered)& a crystal case (same place & price)am able to use my earphones, (also purchased a 4GB SDHC card from ARIA for less than a tenner), & am impressed with the quality for a phone as opposed to a dedicated MP3 player, HOWEVER on the downside movies are a pain, the logical way would be through the PC suite, HA HA HA! No chance this doesn't WORK, the software sees the phone initially, & then promptly ignores it! Whether connected via cable or Bluetooth, the only way to get stuff into the phone is to move data over as a mass drive, VERY VERY POOR! , LG's response via their website is to call their premium help line, COME ON LG THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

This phone is amazing I am getting for Christmas & it looks amazing it is way better than the Viewty which is only good because of its camera the Viewty is like a brick & the touch screen is horrible.

On the other hand the Cookie (KP500) has really good touch screen & games & texting & web browsing couldn't be easier! The Cookie is so light & it's just pocket size too. I went into the carphone warehouse & asked what was the best touch screen phone was. They said the Cookie by far! & it's also the cheapest I would recommend this phone all the way! :).

My boyfriend bought me this phone from Carphone Warehouse, (£98 for phone only as I already had 02 SIM an you still get £12 credit free! Although takes a week to come through) as a Xmas present yesterday he he but I couldn't wait for it so he caved in an gave it to me, I was so looking forward to getting this phone & I am so happy with it I read all reviews on here & others, I have had no problems with phone what so ever the camera is quite good a lot of people said it was rubbish (depends on what kind of phone you had before I had Samsung g600, also I have played around with the LG Viewty & to be honest preferred this phone its lighter, slimmer an functions etc are pretty much same as the Viewty. LG cookie phone is better looking, my boyfriend loves it too he's going to get himself one! I never put the phone down at all yesterday its pretty easy to use overall, the qwerty board texting is little tricky to use if like me you don't have super slim fingers! I was a bit dubious because I text a lot & quite fast but this phone is great for that I had no problem I just used the keypad instead of the qwerty board or handwriting screen (which is quite cool & fun to use too) I've put videos on too which have come out good quality, pictures are good quality also, best phone I have had to be honest up to now, I have played around with new Sony phones Samsung, Nokia & this phone is wicked value for money & looks fabulous! For those of you who are getting for Xmas its definitely worth the wait! (LOL unfortunately I couldn't! ).

I purchased the LG KP500 Cookie to replace the Orange Berlin & New York phones, as they both kept crashing, & was looking for a more up-to-date & reliable phone. I was very impressed by the KP500 features from CPW, & found the various menu interfaces & large touch screen easy & impressive to use. However after 4 weeks the phone crashed & refused to go past the boot LG boot up logo. The phone will be returned to CPW shortly, as the usual battery removal trick does not work at all. As mentioned in another review, the KP500 cannot be relied or trusted.

I am getting this phone for Christmas! It looks good but I am a music person. Does it hold lots of music? I got it for £100 on Orange network. Looks great! Glad I got it! I don't know whether to regret not buying a Sony Ericsson or not though. I have been looking at loads of reviews & this one seems to only say the good points & no bad points. I loved reading the reviews since they were very handy. I am definitely glad I got it! Last year for my birthday I got the Nokia 6111 which was a bad choice & it broke after 5 months of use. The volume button kept coming on & off beeping constantly & even louder when I was calling someone! I hope there are no glitches on this phone since I have found out they get on your nerves! Maggie!

When I first bought this phone I loved it! It is very easy to use but has some serious flaws.

The phone switches itself off & reboots regularly, even during calls. I took my first phone back & exchanged it but the one I have now still switches itself off & on.

It cannot stream music properly using Bluetooth. I have some Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headphones & when you pair them the volume adjustment disappears from the music player! Also when you switch the headphones off & on again the phone can't reconnect, you have to go through the whole pairing process again.

The volume generally is very low when listening through headphones, I have tried 3 pairs of headphones including the rubbish bundled ones & the phone won't go loud enough.

Finally I just bought an 8GB memory card & have started filling it with music (a slow process using LG's rubbish software) the card is now about 4GB full & whenever I try to access any pictures or music on it the phone goes really slow, last night it took 4 minutes just to open my music folder!

unfortunately flawed. Mines going back to CPW tomorrow for a refund.

Superb touch phone. Went from a Nokia 6300. First few days cursing but now in the swing of things. Battery life excellent, MP3 through speaker bit tinny but heh! If it had a 3.5mm jack then would be spot on. Not sure how to re encode avi to 3GP [tried several different avi to 3GP converters] that will work, any one done this?

Robert from UK, you mentioned DVD's at work? How did you do it?

Great phone at a great price.

Bought this phone on a bit of a whim to use on my O2 SIM only tariff, saw it as a bit of a poor mans iPhone. Really good little phone, the touch screen takes a bit of getting used to (having the vibrate response on helps) but it has a good response. Unfortunately want a phone for calls & texts but also has a few extras.

Well I purchased the phone about a week ago now & I am really starting to like it. I have this on contract I downgraded to this phone from the LG viewty due to it being about 10 times lighter that the viewty & isn't as thick & chunky.

I am loving the phone I am missing some of the applications & features & better camera quality of the viewty but overall I like it better.

key features.
- Nice big screen, watch DVD's when I am at work :).
- Supports 8 GIG's.

Bought this for my wife for Xmas but having played with it for a while now I can safely say it is truly excellent. Cost £99 from Carphone WH & got a deal on a Micro SD card (can get the memory a bit cheaper online but for a couple of quid it wasn't worth the hassle).

The phone comes with the data cable & headphones as is really simple to use. I got the hang of it in seconds having never used a touch screen mobile (I have a mobile paid for by work & it's about 4 years old so I am out of touch with these things).

I've read of software issues connecting to a PC running vista. Frankly that's a load of rubbish. The PC suite loaded first time on my Vista PC & I have the phone connected & available in minutes.

My only concern would be putting this in my pocket & scratching is with coins or keys (although it does come with a plastic screen protector) It would be a real shame to mess it up as it's such a nice bit of kit.

Overall I am really impressed & wish it was for me not my wife!

Got the phone a few days back from Carphone Warehouse in the UK, & it provides a great user experience. However we noted a few bugs, which are detailed below. I would appreciate it if other owners of KP500 try this, & let us know if you also face the same bugs.

Bug 1, I used the calendar widget to enter some appointments & birthdays. However when trying to access a date from the widget calendar to see the appointments, the phone reboots. It shows the LG logo & comes back to main screen.

Bug 2, Calendar entries.
- When I save any appointment either as an anniversary or birthday & set the repeat as annual, it puts around 14 days of additional entries for the same appointment in all the subsequent months, 14 in Jan, 14 in Feb & so on.
- I then changed the repeat to once & saved it, but that caused the whole appointment to be deleted from the calendar.
- I saved an appointment as repeating weekly & it saved just fine. However if you give an expiration date for the recurring appointment, then the whole appointment is deleted from the calendar.

Bug 3, Alarm, I have saved a second alarm on my phone. However when the 2nd alarm rings, it shows the name & text from the 1st alarm, which reads Morning Alarm.

Bug 4, Syncing with Outlook, I tried to use the sync tools to upload my contact list. I tried to upload from Outlook 2000 on my home computer, & Outlook 2003 in my laptop. It does not work with either. It starts to sync, reads all the contacts in Outlook (around 293 contacts), & then disconnects connection to the phone & provides a message that Synchronisation failed, but does not provide any comments or feedback about why it failed

We are still checking out all the features & will post more bugs as we find it. I am however keen to know if anyone else is facing the same problems.

The LG KP500 is a really sleek little phone. It is really thin so it fits easily into your pocket, & it has a large 3 inch touch screen for ease of use. The black colour is really nice, & the camera is discreet.

The content of the phone is also fantastic. I previously had the LG chocolate which I didn't like because I found it very fiddly, but this phone definitely ticks all the boxes!
The main menu is one of the phone's best features. Here, you can choose various widgets to appear such as your alarm clock, photo gallery, FM radio & music player which can be easily accessed. The phone responds easily to touch, & the icons are a good size so you don't trigger too many accidental actions. Messaging is also quite easy, although it takes some getting used to. I don't use the handwriting recognition as I find it too fiddly, but this is personal opinion. I find the easiest way to text is to use the stylus pen along with the qwerty keyboard which appears when the phone is tilted sideways. Camera quality is good, editing features fantastic, both photos & videos can be edited. Music player is awesome too. Memory on phone good as well, I purchased a 2GB memory card with mine which slots in really easily & maximises storage space.

The only criticism I have of the phone is that it takes some getting used to, although this is inevitable if you aren't used to touch screens. I couldn't decide between this phone & a normal keypad phone, but I am really glad I went for the Cookie! Definitely invest in one of these phones. It's cheap & has some fantastic features! Love it!

I've bought this phone for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas & can only say just how impressed we are with it. I cannot believe that this phone only cost £100 plus £20 credit for paying cash. I have been looking at similar phones for my 16 year old son & there is absolutely nothing that comes in this price range.

Basically a great little phone but spoiled by a serious fault. This phone switches itself off at random, with no warning & therefore cannot be relied upon. It did it four times to me today, mine is going back to CPW tomorrow.

Having said that, the user interface is easy to get used to. The alarms, address book etc are very good. The touch screen works really well, it doesn't take long to get used to. Music facilities are good although the sound quality leaves a bit to be desired. The camera is pretty weak & yes, I did take the protective cover off the lens! I liked the gallery facilities.

It's such a shame that this otherwise great little phone can't be trusted.

I have had this phone almost a week & so far I haven't really had many problems with it, the only problem I have had with it is with it turning itself off a couple of times when making phone calls. Overall it is a great phone & definitely good value for money! The ringtone is loud so I never miss a call the message tones are great & you can use your own MP3's as message tones too! The screen is a perfect size & the touch screen is responsive although it does take some getting used to, especially with the texting, there have been times over the past week where I have felt like stamping on the phone but I am getting used to it now.

The camera is average not great & not terrible, the music player is great, it isn't slow either (& I have a 4GB memory card in my phone!) the menu is easy to use too. The alarm on the phone is also good (although it took me a while to work out how to use it!) This has been described as the budget version of the iPhone, I'd say it is better than the iPhone as with this phone you can send & receive MMS whereas with the iPhone you cannot, also this is smaller & neater than the iPhone & it doesn't weigh much.

I would highly recommend this phone at £100 plus £10 credit it is well worth it, I am on a contract & although I had to pay for a SIM card & credit that I didn't need it was well worth it!

I purchased my LG cookie (aka LG kp500) at Carphone Warehouse 4 days ago on the Orange network on the Dolphin PAYG tariff, no contract. It is also available contract free on O2 & T Mobile. I had been enviously looking at friends Samsung Omnia phones but I did not want a contract. Browsing in the shop I spotted the advert stating the cheapest non contract touch screen for £99 plus top up.

I bought the phone because check my emails a lot, use Facebook & download music. On my tariff it enables to do this for nominal expense of £10 per month.

The phone itself is surprisingly light & about size average candy bar phone. The screen is very large taking up the majority of the phone. There is 3 buttons at the bottom, two of which is call start & the ending, on, go back buttons. Once the phone is on, you touch the icons to enter call menu, settings, organizer etc. Because there is no buttons, when making a call you use your thumb or finger to scroll to the person you want, then firmly press your thumb on the person's name & the colour indicates your chosen caller. It does take a little while to apply even pressure so not accidently press wrong person, but you get use to it. I have done quite a bit of texting using the on screen touch screen, occasionally touch wrong pad but just press c (clear). If you going to do a long text or do an email I would recommend you use the stylus (this is hidden in the bottom right hand side of the phone). Downloading music or ringtones was quite straight forward, & listening to the music, the sound is very clean & crisp. There is a space at the side of the phone to insert a mini SD card but have not used this facility yet, there appears to a lot of memory on the phone & there is 4 games to try out. The camera is 3MP but it suits my needs, again this button is at the side of the phone to operate. As there is few buttons, the key lock & hold (for music) is under the mini SD slot on the side of the phone & the silence button & lower volume button on the left hand side of the phone. The phone has the usually applications, calculator, camera, music player, video camera, voice recorder, alarm, radio, world clock etc. The clarity of voice calls was excellent & texting once you get use to it is easy. The phone does not come with a case, the large screen means loads of finger prints. So I went to the high street mobile cases & simcard seller & got a LG Viewty wallet style holder to give the phone some protection. For someone who texts & emails a lot & interested in getting a touch screen mobile I would recommend this. Battery life may last 3 to 4 days with moderate use but I have going the Internet downloading music & reading my emails, using the music player for hours, to tended last 2 days. There is some customisation of the phone but I have not got around to this yet. I have got the phone is black but think might come in silver, gold or black with red trim at the sides.
