Bad phone!

If you snap almost full card photos, the phone will start to slow, as not to work finally, &, as many others pointed out, the low battery message CANNOT be disabled!

Videos downloaded upsidedown, & I can't turn them over!

Guys, come on.

Bought this phone in pink for our grandaughter. On the fourth day, with hardly any usage, the screen developed a fault, with a series of crazed lines going across the screen. Am returning for a refund. Would not recommend. It is apparently being discontinued anyway, according to Tesco Direct.

Overall, I am disappointed with this phone.

I have had it for almost a year now, & at first it seemed great! I was impressed with the amount of features available, especially on the camera, & found it to be simple & easy to use on the go.

However, over time I have found that this phone can be a handful :( I text a lot, which is a problem since the response time for typing messages is really disappointing. It's hard to type the correct word you want, especially on predictive, & the blocks are way too small to send simple messages fast.

This is the second time using an LG phone, in the future I will definitely be wanting a Nokia or Samsung.

I like the Phone. It's really good & I have dropped so many times & dropped it like 5 times down the stairs & it hasn't even got a scratch. & I dropped it on concrete like 10 time whilst riding my bike. The only thing that annoys me is when you add music to it & you want to access your music player it takes ages to load & also when you shake it too much it turn itself off then you have to take the battery out then back in to turn it back on. But all in all I am happy.

Well, I got this phone for my birthday almost a year ago & WHAT A REGRET FOR CHOOSING THIS PHONE! At first I was thrilled & all was well until a few months ago when I started to get problems. Since I got the phone I knew the battery life wasn't excellent but it just seemed to get worse & worse.

In the end I would charge it up fully in the morning (the message saying it was fully charged & was ready to unplug, was displayed) & then half an hour later (I hadn't even used it just simply put in my bag & locked it) it would come up with a low battery message & a few seconds later would turn off. This was very annoying, & possibly dangerous if someone had needed to urgently contact me.

Also, a few weeks ago the touch screen became out of sync-I would touch one area of the screen & it would register I'd touched another area. I tried calibrating but this still didn't make a difference. Another problem was sometimes when I created a new message I would be about to type & it would send a blank message to my recipient! I ended up sending three blank text messages in a day & wasting 45p of my already low credit : (.

So my final conclusion is that this is a BAD phone & do not waste your money. I guess if you are looking for a cheap touch screen mobile & have access to an on the go charger of some sort, maybe you could consider buying, but if not I would not recommend!

FOR
- Large touch screen
- Available in nice colours (pink, purple, black, white [purple only available on 02]).

AGAINST
- Bad camera (says it is 3MP but I have used friends cameras which are only 2MP & the photos seem to come out better! )
- Unresponsive touch screen
- Bad sound
- MY LIST GOES ON!

I would go as far as to say I hate this phone. I loved it when I first bought it. But it is extremely slow to use. Texting takes forever, & is frustrating.

Moreover, it broke within three months. I dropped it once from a sitting position & the screen cracked & is unusable. I have had Samsung phones for years & they have never been this bad.

Out of the blue as a wedding gift, my brother gave me a brand new one. Knowing HOW STUPIDLY FRAGILE THEY ARE. I bought a case for it. Three months later as I went to stand up, it fell out of my pocket. It is now broken in exactly the same way, even though it was in a case. I called LG customer services. I won't get any money back because it's MY FAULT THEY ARE SO FRAGILE. I'll never use LG again. Buy this phone if you are used to carrying your mum's best china around.

It's awful.

When I first got it at Christmas I was happy it looked like a good phone, about a month later I hated it, the lock, unlocks its self & calls people, the text when you want to delete a few words it deletes half your sentence.

I recommend anyone not to get it. It may seem like a good phone but really it's not.

This phone looks great & has a good touch screen facility. However, it's not compatible with Vista (they don't tell you that when you buy it.) Additionally it doesn't save music where it's supposed to, very frustrating. The organiser has limited reminder time & alarm options, which means you have to work around it somewhat. It's screen lights every half hour, which is distracting & the alarm goes off, even when not set up, I had a nice wake up alarm at midnight last night, all in all, I am not terribly impressed with usability.

Good on paper, but in practice a terrible phone. Takes minutes to write a simple text, a full battery only lasts half a day, continually deletes words in a text. Definitely not for texters, get the Tocco Lite instead.

Designed to try & be something for everyone, but ultimately fails to please anyone (well me at least).

Screen icons are too small for quick effective texting, making you reliant on the stylus which in turn means that you can't use it on the move.

It's hard to see the screen in daylight.

Predictive text is resolutely obtuse & refuses to let you spell a word until you're reduced to inserting X & Zs to confuse it. It suggests radically long words of different spelling for the simplest of vowel & consonant compilations.

I hate this phone with a passion.

Mainly, I like the phone. The look of the phone is satisfying, but it has a few letdowns. It freezes up a lot of the time, at one point it completely refused to respond so I found myself having to order a new model from Orange, it now works again, but still freezes up at points. The sound is good, the camera has brilliant quality, & I am fond of the photo editing software on it! I would recommend this phone for starters, as it is nice & simple to use.

I like the design, that's it. It really isn't reliable, AT ALL. 2 weeks after buying, it died. It refused to switch on. Took it to the Carphone Warehouse, & they made it work again, but, it still does it sometimes :(.

Texting is TERRIBLE, slow, awkward & easy to make mistakes. My friend has the Tocco Lite, & it is 100 x better for texting, so I would recommend that. Don't buy it.

I have had this make of phone since November 2009, & after a week of buying it, seriously regretted it. It unlocks itself & calls people in my phonebook, once at 3am! It constantly goes on the Internet, after getting it replaces because of these reasons, my new phone which is still the same make, now randomly turns itself off. This phone is the worst I have ever bought & I do not recommend it to anyone! Get a Nokia or Samsung instead.

The only thing is I haven't found how to zoom in & out with the 3 mp camera. However this is still a great phone at a great price.

This phone is rock solid. I have dropped in many times (without a phone sock on) & it hasn't cracked or even scratched! How amazing!

Calm down people, this is a reasonably priced phone which is not a Smartphone by any means, it is a good phone. Some of you are really expected too much from this phone or have had the misfortune of getting a faulty one it seems.

My Cookie has got to be almost a year old & it still looks brand new, I have respected it & taken care of it (girly nurturing moment, sorry) & it has served me well throughout my use. It is now way as flash, capable & as expensive as my partners Apple iPhone but it is a really good phone with all the features I wanted from a phone.

Give this phone the credit it truly deserves. Thanks for reading & I will be purchasing a new LG handset in the next couple of months as LG have proved good for me.

Bought the KP 500 4 weeks ago at O2 shop for £59.99 purple, works great, no problems at all though texting is tricky till you get the hang of it. No shutdowns or phantom calls, fast & easy to use menus, surprised at some of the older reviews. Suspect they bought an older version, recommend buying the purple version as this is the latest phone that's shipped. Perhaps LG have dealt with some software problems, great phone & cheap.

I bought this phone for £130, it was the biggest waste of money. Time consuming to load simple apps. Messages are hard to type & can send at random. It decides to call people at random times & visit the Internet. & often freezes & turns itself on & off again. Worst phone I ever bought. The screen ended up cracking & I know I have a message but cannot see it. I have now bought the cheapest phone 02 offers & the best, its fast, small & easy to use & above all a Samsung phone. I had a bad experience with the LG KS360, & went & bought this phone. Forget LG go with Samsung.

I bought the Cookie as it was very cheap, only £50, & stylish. It's a nice phone & for the most part works well, but has wasted a lot of my credit calling numbers I haven't called, four in the two months I've had it, another one today I only found out about when I checked my credit, & then call logs, & apparently I'd made a call when it was in my pocket! . The Internet is okay on it, but slow, the camera okay too, I'd rate it far higher if these calls weren't randomly called. From what I've heard, if you are on a budget & want a touch screen phone, the LG Pop is far better & cheap now.

At first I loved this phone, it looks good & seems like it has everything you'd need. But after a while it shows its downsides. The camera is 3 megapixel, but has no flash. The apps available are limited & games provided are all demos. It took me ages to find the ringtones, as the layout in general isn't great. I only just realised (6 months after getting the thing) that it's possible to turn off the annoying click every time you press a button (you'd think it would be in the sound menu, but oh no! ). One annoying thing is that the send button is right below the texting keypad, so unless you use the annoying stick thing & are very careful it is extremely easy to send texts half way through.

I could deal with all of these minor flaws, but there are other, more technical, problems. The phone turns itself off at random then it refuses to turn back on unless I remove & replace the battery. I have heard of other LG phones doing similar things. Also, the worst thing about this phone is that it continually unlocks itself & phones people from my contacts list. Whilst I was driving it phoned 3 different people in my pocket, not exactly what you'd want. Overall, don't buy LG.

This is an incredibly poor phone. I bought it a couple of months ago & have had nothing but problems. It continually freezes, my delivery reports were saying the message was sent to a number I didn't send my message too, when I saved a number into my phone book if that person text me it would come up with the number sometimes & not the name so I wouldn't know who is texting me! It would turn on & off & one time it woke me up buzzing & beeping & wouldn't stop until I took the battery out. I took it to be repaired twice & nothing changed. In the first week of having it I asked for a new phone & they said they couldn't find any mechanical faults on their magic little machine so would only send it off for repair which was useless. When I went to a different phone shop they told me that the cookie was notorious for bugs & software faults & people were always experiencing problems. Now I have sold it on mazuma mobile, so glad to get rid of it. If you're interested in this phone be extremely cautious, most people I know who have this phone have experienced the same problems I have & they have given up with it & bought a new phone.

I got this phone as it looked good & was cheap, but I wish I hadn't. When typing a message, regardless of what entry mode you use, it randomly deletes words. Texting is so difficult on the phone that I just can't be bothered to reply when I get a message.

The screen locks really quickly, which is not a problem until you try to call an automated answer service because it doesn't let you press your option when you need to.

Please don't buy this phone, I am contracted into a deal for the next 18 months with my phone & I am just going to buy a different PAYG handset to put the contract SIM in.

We bought this phone for our daughter before Christmas & it has given us nothing but grief, my problem with it is that the shop I brought it from says that the phone has been unlocked & the numbers don't tally with what's on the box, knowing that their software is dodgy LG have covered their selves by saying that if the phone has been tampered with you will have to pay to have it repaired, maybe the owner of LG should come & listen to my daughters sobs every night, don't waste your money buying it.

It's a good phone, however most phones are good compared to the old phones I've been using. One problem which has developed recently & would like to know how to fix is occasionally the buttons either don't work & so spend ages turning phone on & off & taking battery out until they work. The other flaw is that the buttons in the menus occasionally slip, by this I mean you go onto messages, click create new & it goes down to sent instead. I have calibrated phone & that hasn't worked & it seems to be taking longer & longer to right itself. Any tips?

When I first got this phone it was really good. However before long, the touch screen was exceedingly laggy & hitting the send button seemed to keep sending texts twice. Not only this, but when I replied to texts, the text field was full of the last text I sent, & so before I could type out the reply, I had to delete the text already there. It also froze very often & turned itself off & reset. Sending SMS messages was a pain because it took about 3 to 5 attempts for it to type out the word, which would them very often delete itself entirely anyway.

I would highly recommend not getting this phone. It's cheap for a reason.

We can't even reset the phone because we need to use the touch screen to get into the settings! There is no help online for any solutions to this problem, & after having read what posts there are online about the LG cookie, I now realise it's the worst phone on the market, that is plagued by nothing but BIG problems! I have been using this phone for the last two months, & for the cost, it is really worth it. I had also faced the problem of automatic shut down. Earlier I thought it may be because of the leather pouch (as it has a slightly tighter fitting).

Solution to auto shut off.

Definitely there is some issue with the design or maybe with the software implementation of this mobile. They may not be properly taking care of the memory usage in general. There are three keys at the bottom of this phone. If you press the middle key, either it will show RUNNING APPs or Fav Apps. So go to the running apps, before keeping it to idle or may be in your pocket, & close all running application. The time I started doing that my shut off issue is subsided to quite a good extent. Now rarely my phone shut off.

Phone has kept crashing since I bought it last April & the only way to reset it was to take the battery out. It now refuses to charge & will not connect via USB & the headphones don't work, leading us to believe that the port on the phone was broken. Phone is now unusable & LG refuse to repair it under warranty as they say it is user damage. Nothing to do with the fact that the port is 3 in one & extremely badly designed. I advise not to buy this phone, has many features (apart from the obvious lack of WiFi) but is not made to last even to the 12 month warranty period.

The WORSE PHONE I EVER HAD! Nice design, but as for usage it is way too complicated. Some windows would always pop up on a screen & then would be hard to take them off. Had this phone for 6 weeks & couldn't find ringtones. The texting was a nightmare because it would always send my messages before I even finish typing them up. Taking that stupid stick out all the time was a pain in the back side. Always had a problem to go to the call list & sometimes it would unlock by itself in my pocket & start ringing people from my contacts. I had to swap with my friend's daughter for her very old Samsung phone that is about to die, but even that is better than LG cookie. The only good I could say about it, it's light, the battery lasted for 10 days & has really loud speakers. Otherwise I would not recommend this phone.

I think the LG Cookie is a good phone, I had it for Christmas & I really like it, although once or twice it has turned off randomly, but when I dropped it onto the hard pavement, it didn't crash or anything. I think it is a good phone, but the QWERTY keyboard keys are a bit small for me to use without the stylus, & I don't really like using the stylus, but the keypad is big enough.

I would recommend this phone to people who want a good touch screen phone who don't particularly need to type very very fast.

Had mine for over a month & still very pleased with it.

Here are my thumbs up!
- Excellent Signal Reception (better than Nokia).
- Fast Responsive Touch Screen.
- Clear Easy To Use Layout.
- Bright Screen.
- Super Slim.
- Good Battery Life, Normally 3 to 4 days.
- Clear Calling.
- Easy to set up emailing.

Here Are My Thumbs Down!
- Poor camera & video.
- No way to add or change themes.
- Poor sound playback from built in speaker.

In all I wanted a good touch screen phone & found it, I am not too bother by the camera because first & foremost I want to use for texting, calling & emailing which it does perfectly.

No problems here with freezing or poor battery life, I have also been able to unlock it (even accepts 3 mobile SIM card using 2G) & update the firmware quite easily & totally free.

The texting on this phone is horrible, it's hard to press the correct keys in QWERTY mode & the phone doesn't always register which way up it is. The phone consistently freezes when recording videos & re starts (which takes ages). Camera is brilliant quality but the sound recording on the video is terrible at low volume. Everything works fine on the phone apart from the camera issues. Battery Life is OK lasts about 3-4 days normal use. The pointer that comes with the phone has completely seized up & is useless as it won't extend. Phone reception is brilliant & the speaker is brilliant. I had this phone for less than 3 months when I had to take it back to CPW because the battery wouldn't charge. Like numerous others I was told that the charger port was damaged & that it wasn't covered under the manufactures warranty. OBVIOUSLY there is a major design fault here. I have been using, & charging, mobile phones successfully for years, suddenly I am told that I have caused damage to this phone simply by performing the act of plugging the charger into the phone! I am a poor second year university student & cannot afford to buy another phone. I paid £80 for this piece of rubbish & now have no mobile which is my means of communication with my family & friends whilst I am away from home. I feel totally let down by CPW who refuse to do anything. According to consumer rights, my contract is with CPW not the manufacturer, & they are supposed to sell goods which are fit for purpose. A mobile phone which doesn't charge after 3 months is hardly fit for purpose. As the charger port is inside the phone, I fail to see how I can be accused of causing the damage! I agree with a previous reviewer that we are being ripped off by unscrupulous manufacturers & traders. I would NEVER buy another phone from Carphone Warehouse as the guarantee is no more than a joke, & Customer service is non existant. Likewise, I shall stay away from LG products in future. Hey there, after searching many sites in Ireland & England I am horrified to read the reviews & complaints by people who bought this phone. There are many many many problems with the DURABILITY of this phone. I bought one for my daughter, aged 16, 2 months ago. The phone hasn't got a mark or scratch on it, but after constantly turning off, & not been able to connect to the Internet we returned it to the shop.

The said there was damage to the inside of the charger port & could not be fixed, due to physical DAMAGE? They said she must have been putting the charger in wrong & damaged little circuit board. After reading all the reviews 100's I might add LG you are disgraceful in your design, after sales & help. NOW I AM ON A MISSION.

When you sell goods in this country they must be fit for purpose. They must be durable & certainly have some COMEBACK. When you turn the keyboard to the side & text that way isn't it amazing that when you are touching screen it happens to press just over the port?

Why so many bad reviews? & so much physical damage did to ports? Turning on & off? It's definitely a manufacturers fault. I am setting up a website & decided to bring LG & the stores who sell these wonderful phones a list of all these reviews & ask.

- Why are they still selling them?
- What are LG doing to repair, replace, or refund?
- Why has nobody taken any legal action, Small claims courts?

I AM NOT LETTING THIS GO! Don't LIKE BEING RIPPED OFF, YOU PAY FOR QUALITY YOU EXPECT IT. IT WASNT CHEAP!

Took it to the shop immediately, the assistant was so un-bothered & accused me of dropping it or putting a 'heavy force' onto the screen. I was told it would cost £45 to repair take it or leave it! I cannot believe I spent £50 on this phone, made 1 phone call & it broke whilst being sat on the table!

I will be taking this further with Carphone Warehouse but having read pages & pages on the Internet about screens just cracking for no reason with this mobile & Carphone Warehouse doing nothing, I doubt if I will get anywhere.

WORST PHONE EVER! WOULD NEVER AN LG COOKIE AGAIN!

If you're thinking about getting this phone I wouldn't. Within the first week of getting it I had to send it back because it wasn't saving any of my settings. I then got a replacement that wasn't much better it took ages for text messages to send, then I would receive the same text message lots of times. Then it started to turn its self of the one good thing about it is the battery life. Also if you want a phone with a good quality camera than don't get this phone.

I have a pink LG Cookie on a contract with Virgin Media & the excellent deal they offer was the attraction. I really love the phone when it works, which to be honest is most of the time. I have had no problems with the screen breaking, but the phone does turn itself off from time to time, once when I was relying on the alarm feature to wake me up, won't make that mistake again. It won't turn on again unless I take the battery out & then replace it. For those who say this is due to misuse or over use, this is DEFINITELY not the case where my phone is concerned. I also have the problem of some of my contacts not being able to use the reply function to my texts, as when they do I do not receive them. This happens repeatedly from one person in particular, & may possibly happen with regard to other people that I have not been made aware of. (This could be a network problem?) For those experiencing problems with the touch screen, I recalibrated mine after a while as it was becoming so frustrating especially when correcting a finished text, but it has been more sensitive after recalibrating. I am amazed that with all the bad reviews above, LG are not doing anything about it.

I am writing this review because I noticed A LOT of people saying that there was problems with this phone crashing, restarting itself, being very slow & hard to text on.

From my experience this phone works perfectly. I did read comments say that it took ages for the texting to catch up on what you were writing & also switching from an application to the main menu took up to 30 seconds. NOT TRUE. It's swift & smooth, texting & usability in general. I've come to realise that people who say 'I found texting difficult' simply can't text on a touch screen. I tested it out using numbers, capitalisation & symbols & all were easily manageable without even reading the manual.

What I would say is that once you have played about with your new toy for a bit, there really isn't much to rave about.

Bottom line, It is an affordable touch screen mobile with killer looks & if that's what you want, then that's what you pay for.

Charger port is weak & poorly designed, it is easily damaged, worn through normal usage. LG refuse to repair worn charger ports under warranty claiming they have been damaged by the user. They also demand payment of an admin fee to return the unrepaired handset or they will destroy your phone. Based on my experience with this phone I would personally avoid any LG mobile phones & upon my experience of their customer services I would avoid any other LG products.

I have to say this is the worst touch screen phone or maybe phone all together. It resets it's self, which in some cases can be embarrassing, say it's on silent the suddenly resets it's self & makes a huge noise in your pocket when in a meeting, not good.

Texting is the worst experience ever with this phone, so incredibly slow & boring, clears the word when half way through a word & predictive text is just, annoying. Overall do NOT get this phone I highly recommend saving that bit more for a decent phone or even just a £10 Nokia from Tesco, which is what I wish I got instead.

Bought this phone in June & from the day I got it the phone has turned itself off whilst it has had a fully charged battery in, freezing when doing something & then it came up with a SIM card not inserted error. It decided to start working that day, & had been fine since, however I decided to send it to LG for repair. I rang a few days later to check on the progress, was told they had waited for parts, had been replaced n gone to another department for the software upgrading then to quality control. Four days later I get a repair bill for a fault which wasn't on the phone, they said the wires had been ripped off the speaker, yet I could play music on it, hold a conversation & use the alarm to wake me up. I rang LG & despite them saying parts had been replaced previously, have now told me it is irreparable & are blaming it on customer misuse! So I am £109 light, no phone & LG cannot answer why I am told parts have been replaced & it's gone for a software upgrade & then tell me it is irreparable. Neither can they give me an explanation as to why the phone goes in with only 2 faults & gains another whilst it is in for repair.

The phone was working when it was sent in & now will not read the SIM card at all!

LG are rip off merchants, despite all the bad reviews about this phone they still refuse to repair or replace my phone, but still continue to sell it!

I won't be buying anymore LG products again!

I HATE THIS PHONE! Seriously, I loved the idea of it, & when I first got it I thought the touch screen was really cool, but after living with it for 6 months I can honestly say I despise it more than any other phone I have had.

It's SO SLOW. To get from one screen to another takes just A G E S. Sometimes the touchpad doesn't pick up a touch, so then it takes even longer, but, say, to go from a read text message back to the homepage can take anything up to 30 seconds, which in my book is too long. & of course the screen locks itself after a few seconds, so then you have to unlock it. & so on. & so on.

Texting is kind of okay. I like the keyboard option with the stylus, as I refuse to type in 'text speak' but the predictive text doesn't seem to 'learn' new words very quickly if at all.

The camera isn't wonderful, & all in all it's a pain. DO NOT get this phone.

It now does not work at all because it blew in my pocket the screen had not been knocked at all & when removing it from my pocket the screen had gone multi coloured & no longer works.

All in all I have had no luck with this phone & now consider cheaper is not always the best option.

I am not a person that gets things whenever they want but I would LOVE a new phone. It is just too basic & all of my mates who have it (about 10 or 15) said the same. This phone is the dumbest piece of rubbish I have ever seen! Before buying it I looked at a lot of review sites & was really excited about getting the phone because most of the sites gave it 4 out of 5. There were some negative reviews, but I just dismissed them, because it seemed like they were written by people who just like to complain.

I've had the Cookie for about 2 months now, & it has gone from bad to worse! Now, I know that the price is comparatively low, so I didn't expect it to be anything like the iPhone or some of the more expensive touch phones.

The touch screen is ridiculous, since I don't have fingernails I have to press down really hard for it to react. There is no precision whatsoever, so typing a message is impossible. When I'm using predictive text, it times out, which is so stupid, since the reaction time (from pressing the key to it appearing on the screen) is about a second! It's even worse when typing on the keyboard, as the keys are TINY! So now I'm having to use the stylus whenever I text, which let's be honest makes me look like an idiot.

For me the touch screen is really the biggest let down, scrolling through contacts or music is hard enough with a stylus, & impossible with just a finger. Something which is really annoying is that instead of being able to press & hold the Down arrow, I'm having to press it a hundred times to get to the right contact. The arrow, by the way is tiny, which is ridiculous, considering the lack of accuracy on the screen.

The phone has a lot of useless stuff on it, like handwriting recognition, drawing panel, tonnes of picture editing applications etc. I mean, these are a nice novelty for the first few days, but in the end all I really need is a phone for calling & texting.

The alarm clock function is just as dumb as the rest of the phone, keeping in mind that when I'm half asleep, I don't want to be pressing about 5 different buttons just to make it go to snooze. Also, recently the phone started turning itself off about 4 or 5 times a day (every day).

I bought this phone as my first touch screen. I like the screen size along with the slim, compact dimensions which means I can carry it in my pocket almost unnoticeably, unlike some other comparative handsets, which is what I like.

The cons. The very annoying feature of auto lock coming on during calls as mentioned previously. I also get the message Maximum number of applications reached, from time to time, even though I have nothing else running & I'm just trying to access my contact list. The only way to overcome this is to reboot the phone. Also, I find it very difficult to scroll down any list to search without the handset selecting the item your on (is this common with all touch screens? ).

All in all, a bit disappointed & I think I'll go back to a Nokia again. (the 6700 sounds cool)!

This phone is very good! I read a lot of reviews before buying it, & although a lot said it CRASHES & RESETS itself, it really really doesn't! Maybe those people had a bad batch! But mine is fine! & I have had it awhile now! One thing I must say is that it looks more expensive than it is! I brought it for £87.95 & that's with £10 airtime & 100 free minutes & 300 free texts on Vodafone. I brought it from the Carphone Warehouse which I must say was amazing & helped me a lot!

The only thing I can think to complain about is the fact it doesn't have the best memory ever! It stores about 5 or 6 songs & some pictures but that is it! So I suggest you get a memory card! I got one for £5.99 (2GB) from the Carphone Warehouse! But for £8.99 you can get a 4Gb one! It's up to you, I can cope with 2Gb! :).

Overall great phone that doesn't CRASH or FREEZE! :) Hope this helps you all! :) xx.

For a cheap touch screen phone, this one looks pretty good. It's quite small with a large screen, & the menu designs look okay too. In terms of features, it isn't too bad either. There's a neat speed dialling feature, & a not-too-shabby music player. The alarms & the organiser work well too, as does the texting keyboard.

My main gripe with this phone is its usability. It's fine to begin with, the touch screen is not perfect but it does do the job & it's easy to make calls, text, & do all the regular phone things you'd expect a phone to do.

The phone's processor doesn't seem to be able to handle it though, as it frequently freezes, slows up, & doesn't register touches for a good 4 to 5 seconds. Mass deleting of texts, one at a time causes the phone to display a blank blue screen which nothing will fix short of taking out the battery. The phone also switches itself off then on again, which is extremely irritating.

More problems include sending texts to people in your contacts, where the phone might just decide to send the text to an entirely different person, & locking the touch screen during calls, so you can't select menu options, or write down a number someone gives you.

Finally, attempting to access one of the free game demos included with the phone caused it to return to its factory settings, deleting all of my messages, settings, videos, photos, documents, contacts, & call history.

Do NOT buy this phone.

A mixed review for me, first off the design. I think it looks great, stylish, nice big screen, good look and feel about it, maybe a little big but overall no worries. The features I think you can't really complain, all the up to date features you would expect from a new phone, and although the touch screen was a nice messaging feature which was new to me, I found it very hard to get to grips with the texting as I am used to just pressing the keys rapidly.

Unfortunately for me, the phones usability was a real let down, this is because when the phone was about a week old, it started to turn itself off every time I left it alone. A great looking phone, as for features there are plenty to keep you company (messaging is awkward for me personally) sadly the phone powered off on numerous occasions which influenced my decision to take it back.

I've had this phone about 6 weeks & I thought I'd wait & live with it a while before leaving a review. This phone usually evokes love or hate & I've not suffered from the hateful things. There are lots of good things about this phone & you can read about them in many reviews & they are all true. It's fully loaded & cheap because it doesn't have 3G & a top end camera. Personally I wouldn't buy it for Internet access if your intention is anything other than the occasional check of email & headlines. I thought I'd tell you some of the downsides.

- After a few weeks it gets slow unlocking & accessing the menus from the home screen & the touch screen can also be slow to respond. Response times are certainly way short of an iPhone.

- It has a really annoying feature of turning off the screen & locking it when a call is in progress. It makes it really difficult to make calls to automated services which you have to interact with the keypad.

- As with a lot of predicative text apps, it thinks it's too clever & adding a word to the dictionary could be lots better & it's often quicker to delete the word & re-type with it turned off.

- the screen doesn't respond very well to touch unless you have nails.

Otherwise it's a great looking phone, loads & loads of features, apps & capability for the money but I only wish the screen was more responsive.

The first cookie I had lasted two days before it started turning itself off. The socket for the SIM card is big so the SIM card moves & loses connectivity. The second replacement phone lasted longer, but the features are just atrocious, no zoom on the camera unless you go to the smallest resolution & even then it's a 2 x zoom, absolute waste. This is my first phone in 5 years & was excited about owning a touch screen, previously I had a Nokia 6270 which was problem free despite suffering a fair share of drops. Some have said that if for what it is, some of us are expecting too much for the low price. However the price that I paid, I wouldn't expect the problems I have from a lesser phone. They are very basic. I don't have the old favourite switch off on its own however the text is a headache as I don't seem to can add my words. Phantom calls are being made while in my pocket. Scrolling seems to be hard work. But all of these problems seem easy to live with. However my main gripe is the PC suite that comes with it. It is not recognizing my Cookie so I am relegated to arranging my music playlist through the phone & considering I am trying to arrange 2GB worth of music via scrolling I said earlier was hard work, you can imagine my hair is being torn out regularly! For looks, it's not bad, but I'd think twice about recommending this to someone with half a brain & no patience. It's just too fiddly.

Within a few months of having this phone it started to gain problems,

- The Touch Wasn't Working.
- Not reading Memory & Sim Card.
- Turning the phone off.

Luckily I had brought insurance with this phone & I took it back to the CPW & they happily replaced the phone.

Then I had the same troubles with the phone within two weeks, but there was also more problems including,

- Once I pressed send it sent 40 or more messages using my credit.
- As I went through photos there was a blank screen, with dots of colours on it.

I've owned a LG Cookie for six months now & I have to say I think it's great. I bought it because I wanted a QWERTY keypad but did not want to spend a fortune. I've since discovered that I can collect my emails on the Cookie too. It does reboot on me occasionally (not as often as my laptop! ) but I have discovered that it shuts down because I've left to many processes running. I've also replaced the touch screen because my son scratched the original. It was cheap to buy & easy to replace. I am going to buy a spare battery for the Cookie next.

I bought this phone after first having the Samsung Tocco Lite & having to return is twice to Carphone Warehouse because that was an awful phone. I am now very happy with the LG Cookie, it's very responsive, it's easy to use & text, & I like the features.
On the down side, it is a little slow, it does freeze sometimes, & the camera is not that great, but I have a digital camera so I am not fussed about that.

Overall, I would recommend this phone over the Samsung Tocco Lite, as most importantly, I can make calls & the person on the other side can hear me! That's what a phone should do.

First time I have ever used a Touch Phone & now have regrets ever using one, my mum bought it for me on contract, I have only had it 2 months & the phone don't work. It's never been dropped, it's not scratched, no damage whatsoever on the phone. I would not recommend the phone to anyone.

Problems with LG Cookie KP500.
- Keeps freezing with a blue box (can't turn phone off, unless you take battery out).
- Phone restarts when & if it pleases (always restarts if you try to use media player).
- My Screen Produced a crack on the inside of the phone (there is no marking on the screen, but when you turn it on, the phone will load with a smashed screen & nothing else, you can't see any content at all).
- Touch screen failure (every so often your phone will).

The only good thing about the phone was.
- Very fast (you could load pretty much anything & the phone would load very fast).

I bought this phone second hand from e bay recently, & I have to say that I think this phone is AMAZING. My niece got one for her 12th birthday, & I wanted one too.
Mine does not switch itself off, at least not so far.

The camera is very good quality, even without a flash or auto focus, as you can easily adjust the photo in the options. I have a Samsung G600 which has a 5 megapixel camera, but I think the LG camera is just as good, even though it is only a 3 megapixel phone.

It is very light to use, touch screen is mostly responsive & the sound is very clear on calls (better than Samsung). I live in a poor signal area, & I am with Vodafone. I have not tried the video camera yet, but I have installed wallpapers & music from my vista laptop using the USB cable or Bluetooth, & it works fine. The LG PC suite installed with no problems either.

I was very wary having previously had a Viewty for a couple of months, & I swore never to have an LG phone again, but they have ironed out a lot of the problems experienced with the Viewty. The phone does lock itself after 10, 20, 30 or 60 seconds (depending on how you set it) & it locks on calls for safety. The tones can be a bit quiet, but I downloaded my own message tone, so now it is quite loud.

The font size can be changed too (good for people with not quite 20 20 vision, like me)
I find texting by touch screen quite easy, not quite so easy is the QWERTY keyboard (accessed by rotating the phone horizontally). A lot can be customised, & there are a few games, best being the snakes & ladders one where you shake your phone to roll the dice, VERY addictive.

My husband also thinks this is a great phone for the price. I got a cheaper contract, & bought my own phone, & I saved money getting it from e bay too, so I am very happy all round.

My advice is get a case because I agree if it gets dropped it will not withstand damage to the screen. I only gave 95% for features because there's no 3G & there is not much memory on the phone either, so an SD memory card will be essential (I have a 2 gigabyte one in my phone)

A flash on the camera would have been great, but a camera on a phone is not supposed to replace a digital camera, it is there for fun. A touch screen phone for around £95 is great value. Well done LG.

Maybe I have been lucky with my phone so far (fingers crossed) I don't know, but I am LOVING my pink LG Cookie.

It seems that half of all Cookies shipped work, & the other half don't. If you are buying one make sure you ask for one that doesn't switch itself off!

The phone keeps rebooting on a regular basis, camera is awful quality, my old Sony Ericsson took better pictures on a 2MP camera. It has recently stopped recognising my SIM card & there are missing pixels at the top of the screen. It has been back to the Carphone Warehouse 5 times now & I am just fed up. I LOVE this phone. I have it in white. I've had it for a good couple of months now & it really is fantastic.

I was a bit put off after reading some of the reviews on sites such as this where people discuss the phone turning off, but never ONCE has mine turned itself off! Sometimes it can be a bit slow if I text a bit too much it tends to get confused due to my free delivery report & credit statement that came with O2.

Camera can tend to be poor but other than that it is a very high quality phone & the handy stylus is great!

Although I did have to buy a headphone adapter so I could use my own headphones as the ones provided broke with a week (most LG phone headphones do.) & were uncomfortable.

Great phone overall, would recommend it to anyone

Am I a grumpy old man or is the grammar used by the majority of young people on this site shocking. I am OK to say that as most of them can't understand written english.

Any road up, the phone. I am an old git, who first BOUGHT yes BOUGHT his first contracted phone way back in the days of analogue phones & I have been through a few since then! The cookie is a first rate cheap phone with a resistive touch screen, thats why you get a stylus.

The Iphone has a capacitive screen & doesn't need a stylus that is the difference.

The cookie is well put together, the firmware is important as the early ones were a bit suspect. The touch screen needs a good touch especially with a screen protector on but it is possible to use it with fingers.

The Bluetooth is excellent. The music player prefers MP3s to WMAs but with 8Gb cards available so what! Volume both in call & ring tone is excellent & the camera takes some cracking shots ( I also have a dgital SLR & I know what I am talking about!)

All in all it is a good cheap phone, if it crashes TAKE IT BACK & DON'T ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT A REPLACEMENT.

The GOOD ONES ARE GREAT. Having said that my next phone will probably be a OMNIA HD or W995.

I got the LG Cookie at Christmas, & since then I have had nothing but trouble, I taken the phone back to CPW in February but they were very unhelpful & sent the phone off for repair & once returned I still had the same problems. I then rang & told them & they said to me to send it back in for repair.

The problems were.
- Turning off & resetting.
- Camera unusable.
- Software problems.
- Freezing.
- Slow to text with.
- Would not let answer phone calls.
- Memory, said full even with a new memory card.
- SIM not inserted.

I am very unsatisfied with my phone. & will not be buying another LG in the future, as I have had similar problems in the past with another phone.

Got quote from their helpline £40, sent it away to be repaired & actual price to repair was £65, half as much again & was told if I didn't pay handling fee of £25 the phone would be kept & sold to cover their costs. 2 friends had the same fault but had the sense to buy new phones instead of being ripped off like I was. From reading the reviews it sounds like others have had the same problem but LG don't want to know.

Personally I haven't got one but I know friends & family that have, & to be quite honest the only reason the phone would have to turn off is because of incorrect use, like when typing a message it might take a while but it does have to register you have just pressed it. I can't understand how people who like to text fast should get an ordinary buttoned phone not a touch screen. The LG chocolate is the same, pressing the touch screen arrows take a while for it to register, my friend has had the phone since Christmas, (2008) & has had no problems what so ever because she treats it the way it's supposed to be handled yet my other friend has had it since the same time & there's kept turning off so she took it back & they agreed it's too much of a 'slow' phone for fast texters to use, because they didn't treat it right with patience pressing to hard or typing to fast can cause the phone to malfunction & turn off. To be honest it's just a bit of common sense.

Very poor. I bought this phone in April. The next day, it had broken, when you clicked on inbox, it restarted. Swapped it.

The next day, sending song on Bluetooth, the phone just DIED. Wouldn't turn on or anything, yes, I did try charging.

Fine after that until 2 weeks ago. When clicked on camera, restarted. Wouldn't move stuff to my memory card so no memory left, randomly turned on & made itself not on silent mode!

Sent off for repairs & two weeks later, they said wasn't fixed yet & to call in a few days.
They were baffled by it & couldn't do anything, & basically I've now got the Samsung Tocco. So good! Get that one!

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. My mate had the same one & it break four times before she swapped it.

I am a student. I've had this phone for nearly a week now. I was looking for a phone that's fun. So far, after reading all the reviews I must say they have me quite a bit worried. Up till now, I have had no problems with the inner LCD screen, or the phone shutting off on its own.

But I must address something, when I first got this phone, I found it a little frustrating that it wasn't as easy to access the videos, pictures, music etc. At least not as much as my old phone, the Sony Ericsson c902. That was a great phone I definitely recommend it.

While I was scrolling through the pictures, a bright blue box suddenly appeared out of nowhere & I couldn't even switch it off so I had to take out the battery. I turned on the phone again & to my dismay it switched off on its own again after 10 minutes while it was charging. I brought it back to the shop & the guy said it was a problem with the memory card so I got it switched. It's been 3 days since I'd done that & so far there are no problems with it.

& I have to say, I rated features 80% because I hate the camera. The reason I got c902 at first is because I use my camera a lot. So I am kind of really upset with it. I also hate the battery life (which usually I have to charge like every single day or once every two days) as I watch videos a lot & listen to a lot of music. Other than that, I am so far satisfied. I will write another review soon if any new problems crop up.

After a few weeks the battery once charged fully was sapped dry by the next day (even without using anything on it), it phoned people when it was locked (still trying to work that one out), it sent texts messages that I was still drafting & it turned itself on & off.

All in all, it's a nice looking phone but I'll be looking for another phone.

It also looses coverage very easily in high coverage areas. The Camera is good & the Photo editor is excellent. One of many down turns to this phone is not being able to put a lock of any sort on messages, Images & sounds. The GALLERY Option In the menu is A good idea but quite annoying. It shows all Images & Videos On the phone. Which is somewhat of nonsense?

I would & I wouldn't recommend this phone to people. As it is a very stylish phone & very good (touch screen no fault) but it, as I said, very slow & sometimes non responsive.

So got the KP50i pink 2 days ago. It's great, I am so pleased with it, the colour & style is great, not heavy or bulky (which is one of the reasons I chose it over the LG Viewty). The music player is really good, great quality sound. The different options for texting I think are good. Either original way or turn it horizontal & use the QWERTY keyboard :). The games aren't really that good but oh well, when are they. The camera is average 3 mp no flash, but what do you expect for a cheaply priced touch phone! The touch screen is Good, I suppose it could get some getting used to if your not use to touch screens though. Really easy to call & text etc. Easy to navigate different extras like a drawing panel, voice recorder, mauve studio & radio to name a few.

Easy to upload & download photos to & from computer. Once you know how that is LOL. If you want to download music just go to settings, connectivity, USB connection, sync music then plug cable in.

I recommend you get a MicroSD card as the phone doesn't have a lot of memory. (You can get them quite cheap I found them on the net for approx £6.99 or less) the phone can then hold thousand & songs, photos etc.

Hope I have helped :) xxx.

This LG K500 is awesome in looks as its very sleek when compared to other manufacturers touch screen mobile phone. Its elegant look & widgets are really cool.

But there are hell lot of bugs,
- It frequently gets switched off.
- When your in a call & if the setting has vibrator mode ON, then it starts vibrating which generally does not happen in any other manufacturers mobile phone, it's really dangerous!
- Camera features are not up to the mark as there is no zoom option in camera mode & in video mode, even if zoom option is available, it's not up to the standards.
- Bluetooth connectivity, we cannot know the percentage or current transfer rate activities during any information transfer.

There is no dedicated buttons for music,
- Music options are not good & if we use headset for listening music, it really hurts if we use for more than 15 to 20 min.

If we prefer to use touch screen mobile then Motorola E6 ROKR is really best when compared to LG Cookie. :).

I hope I will be happy with this phone, I had a Sony Ericsson W910i & it kept restarting but being unsuccessful, I had to take out the battery & when it turned back on, it wouldn't make calls or send texts. The only way to fix it was to reset everything, deleting music, pictures, contacts & returning to factory setting. Problems.

- Unreliable.
- Turns off for no reason.
- Battery just goes from 3 bars, fully charged down to empty within an hour.
- Touch screen is VERY unresponsive, nothing like the iPhone in the sense.

Fair enough it is very good value for money, but if you want a phone for texting & calling then do not buy this phone.

Having bought this phone earlier today, I am mildly let down with it, with all the hype surrounding the phone I expected something a little bit more user friendly & the phone does not look as nice in real life as in pictures & 3D demos. The material used is very easily scratched & damaged already I have a couple of minor scratches caused by my keys. In Ireland on O2 the phone colour is only available in silver which is nice however it shows any scuffs because of the bright colour. Having said all of this I still like the phone, for 140 on pay as you go it's a bargain & unlike other more expensive touch screen phones, it does have an accelerometer. I would recommend this phone to a friend as it's very good & the features like its drawing pad & movie maker are fun to use.

I got this phone 1 month ago, it's great, occasionally it shuts down but apart from that it's great.

The camera goes a bit fuzzy but usually it's because it's dirty. Anyway the design is great also most people say its RUBBISH because it shuts down it only does that if you bash it or sometimes the turn off button accidentally turns off, so I think it's great :D.

I really like the phone & I think it's really easy to use. However there are some major downsides to it.

Firstly, yesterday I charged the phone fully (until it said fully charged) & used it for about 10 minutes & the phone switched off because of low battery. I found this really strange as I thought the battery should last up to 350 standby hours.

I then recharged it last night until this morning for about 18 hours & it still hasn't been fully charged. I've noticed like other people, that the battery takes absolute ages to charge.

Secondly, I inserted a memory card (brand new) & followed instructions, I.e. External memory etc. However when I clicked the external memory thing, it came up with please insert the memory card. This really annoyed me, as the memory card was inserted a few times the proper way & the right card. The phone still doesn't recognise that there is a memory card inserted. Even when I go to media & try to click the memory card button, it doesn't even recognise that there is a memory card!

Good things. Everything about the phone.

Bad things. There is none.

Got this phone two weeks ago & my sister, Emily, who just wrote a review, got it yesterday when her contract finished after loving mine. We both loved the phone.

The features are great & I love the games as well as the texting methods, image editing, brilliant music player with loud sound, movie studio, it's got the lot!

Lovely sleek design & I got mine in black.

The camera is very good for a 3 megapixel & I didn't expect as much as the last phone I got, G600 which was 5 megapixels & the difference between the two isn't huge!

Anyway, it was fine for two days & then it started to reboot. I'd heard about this & was very patient for a day. Then, when I clicked on my stuff, it did the same.

I knew I had to change it & went to Carphone Warehouse to swap. A few hours later, it did the same. I swapped it again, as I really love the phone & it worked!

No problems now & I love it! Brilliant phone!

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this phone! I only just got it last week & already I have had two of them because they keep breaking. I've taken it into the shop & they recommended me to swap it for a different phone because it will always keep crashing.
However the camera is good outside but inside the pictures are blurred & dark & not good quality.

It is nice looking but hard to text with, hard to use & breaks often for no reason.
I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

HOWEVER I had the Sony Ericsson W810i for two years & it never broke, always had memory, space for thousands of songs & photos & loads of battery. I wouldn't have parted with it except I lost it : (.

Good Buying xx.

The phone looks nice, but is there a design problem? After only 3 weeks the inside screen has cracked & the Orange shop which sold it said I had damaged it (I can't work out how). There is not a mark on the outside, but I was told that even sitting down with the phone in your pocket can cause it to bend & crack the screen. Surely a phone should be robust enough to withstand everyday use.

Has plenty features but sometimes the software seems to go a bit haywire. Can't say I'd recommend it to friends.

Great phone, I have read some reviews of I don't like this etc. What do you want for a hundred quid, spend 500 & get an iPhone if you want it all. I find it all works, & if like me you want a phone to make calls & text about 90% of the time it's ideal. I found mine rebooted when I touched my wife name to phone! (not a bad thing. LOL) but I guess that was because I imported her number with a picture attached from another phone, just deleted it & all is fine. As for the guy who cannot forward emails. LOL open it & touch top right box, amazingly it say forward.

Go buy it if you want a fancy phone without an iPod price.

Oh & it links really well to your home PC, it imported all my contacts their addresses, emails etc & allowed me to copy MP3 ringtones to the phone easily.

This is a lovely compact phone. It feels well made & the material is high quality. On the down side, a minor flaw, is that it is not a very good phone. The touch screen interface is far too slow, & it seems to have to think about every input. Trying to access your voicemail & any calls that require key stokes is a real problem. I thought I would get use to it but after 3 months of use I am finally defeated.

If you want a fancy gadget that's capable of making phone calls this will be great, but if you are looking for a phone then I would think twice!

First of all I thought the phone is great but there are some bad features about it.

- It sometimes turns off randomly,
- When you start to text on the QWERTY keyboard it goes really slow after a while & you're just sitting there watching it press the buttons by itself.
- the camera isn't all good news either, it gets all fuzzy & has a bad quality & doesn't zoom in that much.
- But I must say, it is a bit annoying to keep getting out the stylus.

But everything else is great. The music plays really load, great drawing panel nice load volume for when you answer a call & great memory with the memory card but not for songs without it. If you don't buy a memory card you can only hold 5 songs on there.
Other than that I would recommend it to anyone who likes touch screens.

Yes it is a brilliant phone & some people are saying it switches itself off at random? !? Don't think so. Have you tried pressing the standby switch? It's the backlight that goes off not your phone & it locks the screen so all you have to press is the standby switch & it will come back on. The only thing wrong I think is that the camera is poor I would have thought it would have been a bit better but I don't really need the camera anyway so I would recommend it to anyone.

I have had the shutting down randomly problem & if you sync the calendar with outlook it shuts down the phone when you try & open an appointment. SMS text suddenly gets sent as MMS for no reason. LG do not seem to want to acknowledge these problems. On the plus side it's light, slim, & the battery lasts for days at a time. I find using the QWERTY keyboard with the stylus an incredibly fast way of writing texts. I could be a little cracker if LG would release a software update.

I bought LG KP500 two weeks ago. Just like you, I don't buy anything without knowing it. Most of the reviews recommend this phone.

It has qwerty on screen key board which is quite handy in typing messages, just turn the phone to horizontal position & you get onscreen qwerty key board to type messages.

I also encounter people complaining about LG PC Suite. Most of the people complaining about phone not able to recognized by windows XP, I am having same issue but upon further investigating I found this issue is related to windows XP not with LG PC suite, I tried to install LG PC suite on windows XP home edition with USB connectivity first time it worked fine then I disconnected my phone & tried to reconnect via the USB but result in windows error, unable to recognise the device. But it works fine with Bluetooth connectivity, I didn't find any issue with Bluetooth connectivity.

At work I am using windows XP professional edition & I never encountered any issue in connectivity with USB.

The 3.0 megapixel camera is embedded but without zooming capabilities. You can make videos can take pictures. I got free 1GB memory card with the phone, you can upgrade it up to 8GB, but I won't advice you to go for it as it might slow down your installed applications. It doesn't have Wi-Fi & it is not iPhone but it has lots of cool feature.

The phone is cheaper as compare to any touch class phone. I really like it, it is quite cool.

The phone looks great & the features are pretty good, but it's so unreliable, it switches it's self off when I am in the middle of sending a text & if I do need to switch it off it wipes all my messages & call history, it also gives no warning that the battery is low & just shuts down while your speaking to someone, I don't know whether I've just been unlucky here & got a dodgy one, but the switching itself off seems to be a common problem.

I bought this from a Carphone Warehouse store. It was amazing, because it was an outlet store or something, I got a load of accessories such as a memory card, Bluetooth headset, phone sock etc. All this for the same price I would of paid in any other store.
The phone is great to use, the main widget screen is customisable so I can access what I want easily, & not have a cluttered screen. There is also a speed dial screen which if you slide your finger across the widget screen is great. It makes it so much easier to access the contacts that are dearest to you, & select them for texts or calls, edit the contact or delete it. The background for both screens can be made to be different.

My only gripe is that I find coming from a buttoned candy bar Sony Ericsson, that the predictive texting isn't as easy to use, & my fingers don't always hit the right keys on the QWERTY keyboard, but I am sure this can be fixed if I recalibrate the screen.

All in all, I'd buy this phone a 1000 times if I needed 1000 new phones. I miss my old phone but I look forward to a new life with this one =].

The phone connects easily to the computer, & the disk that comes free with this phone doesn't need to be used. I will say, however, that when putting music onto my phone in WMA format, not all information about the song was displayed properly, but I found that the disk has a handy feature to convert any files into MP3 formats, along with many others, which can also be used for any computing needs!

The phone looks a lot better than the pictures, & it feels completely slim lined & weightless. The way you can just completely customize the home screen makes this phone pretty unique.

The camera features aren't fantastic, but they are suitable for the price range, & do the job well enough!

Speakers are great, & seem to deliver loud, powerful sound.

You can set multiple alarms for multiple days, which is also an added bonus!

Overall, I am completely impressed with this phone, & having it for 2 weeks now, I have had no problems about rebooting, or anything for that matter.

A fantastic phone, & an even better price tag!

Great Phone, touch screen works fine.

I haven't encountered the problem of rebooting. Yet.

Camera isn't fantastic but for the money it's quite good. Also the Internet may say that it is the full thing, but it is not, unless there is a setting that I have missed. Its Internet is slow without Wi-Fi but it is a usable speed.

One niggling problem is that neither 0000 or 00000 appear to be the default PIN code, as such mine is without at the moment, would love to know if anyone has found out the default PIN, I have a T Mobile SIM card. If you have this problem don't bother ringing T Mobile as the customer service people don't know anything more than those 2 codes.

I just got mine yesterday. I am used to having a pretty much rubbish phone (Siemens SL55) so this one is a whole new world for me. So I spent the day transferring my contacts over from the old phone then I hit a snag. Every time I pressed the shortcut icon at the bottom of the main screen for the contacts list it would reset the phone. I had to reset the thing back to factory settings & it's now working flawlessly, Almost. The problem now is the quick dial. I can put most of my contacts in fast dial except one friend. The phone seems to think two totally different numbers & contacts are the same so it will only let me assign one or the other. Now this doesn't have me too phased, as I can just use the contact list. But I'll that this a great phone with even better value for money. Some of the reviews I've read on it have said it's slow. I personally have never experienced any of this. If you want a cheap touch phone then you can't go far wrong on this. One last thing, if you need to reset the phone back to security settings, then the default security number is 0000.

Had this phone since 13 December 2008. Best phone ever.

The only flaws are.
- It's new & as such games etc are hard to find. This will sort itself out in due course I would imagine when they are developed.
- Crashes, mine has crashed twice since I got it, I suspect tjhe main reason was over use. The first crash was when I attempted to look at the calendar entry previous set. I have went back & looked at the same entry several times without problems. The second crash was random & I think caused by me going in & out of various applications quickly (it is a small computer & they all crash now & again).

NO PROBLEM AT ALL MAKING CALLS, I am still playing & getting used to it however I would say buy it.

PS. My son has the iPhone (expensive) & I have tried that too. Not much difference other than it has games etc.

I spent ages & I mean ages researching various phones. After a reading hundreds of reviews for various phones & looking at different specifications I finally had it down to two phones. These were the LG Viewty & LG Cookie. I weighed up the differences & decided on the LG Cookie.

I am so glad I made this decision, I was worried about the camera but it's actually pretty good. Texting is so simple & easy & the screen is sensitive but not too sensitive. The stylus is really handy although I mainly use my fingers.

The games are really good, & photo editing is amazing. The LG Cookie is very light, & very thin, so all in all very compact.

Amazing phone, if you're considering this phone then honestly, buy it!

Phone is great value for money, this was a replacement for a phone I had on O2 simplicity SIM only contract & it seems to tick all the boxes, the display is outstanding for the money & on a par with phones 3 times the price, I don't use many of the features anyway & I suspect many people are the same, however the ones I have used so far (music player etc have caused no freezing or restarts, the sound is crisp & clear, & having bought an adapter (£3 on eBay delivered)& a crystal case (same place & price)am able to use my earphones, (also purchased a 4GB SDHC card from ARIA for less than a tenner), & am impressed with the quality for a phone as opposed to a dedicated MP3 player, HOWEVER on the downside movies are a pain, the logical way would be through the PC suite, HA HA HA! No chance this doesn't WORK, the software sees the phone initially, & then promptly ignores it! Whether connected via cable or Bluetooth, the only way to get stuff into the phone is to move data over as a mass drive, VERY VERY POOR! , LG's response via their website is to call their premium help line, COME ON LG THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

On the other hand the Cookie (KP500) has really good touch screen & games & texting & web browsing couldn't be easier! The Cookie is so light & it's just pocket size too. I went into the carphone warehouse & asked what was the best touch screen phone was. They said the Cookie by far! & it's also the cheapest I would recommend this phone all the way! :).

My boyfriend bought me this phone from Carphone Warehouse, (£98 for phone only as I already had 02 SIM an you still get £12 credit free! Although takes a week to come through) as a Xmas present yesterday he he but I couldn't wait for it so he caved in an gave it to me, I was so looking forward to getting this phone & I am so happy with it I read all reviews on here & others, I have had no problems with phone what so ever the camera is quite good a lot of people said it was rubbish (depends on what kind of phone you had before I had Samsung g600, also I have played around with the LG Viewty & to be honest preferred this phone its lighter, slimmer an functions etc are pretty much same as the Viewty. LG cookie phone is better looking, my boyfriend loves it too he's going to get himself one! I never put the phone down at all yesterday its pretty easy to use overall, the qwerty board texting is little tricky to use if like me you don't have super slim fingers! I was a bit dubious because I text a lot & quite fast but this phone is great for that I had no problem I just used the keypad instead of the qwerty board or handwriting screen (which is quite cool & fun to use too) I've put videos on too which have come out good quality, pictures are good quality also, best phone I have had to be honest up to now, I have played around with new Sony phones Samsung, Nokia & this phone is wicked value for money & looks fabulous! For those of you who are getting for Xmas its definitely worth the wait! (LOL unfortunately I couldn't! ).

I don't know whether to regret not buying a Sony Ericsson or not though. I have been looking at loads of reviews & this one seems to only say the good points & no bad points. When I first bought this phone I loved it! It is very easy to use but has some serious flaws.

The phone switches itself off & reboots regularly, even during calls. I took my first phone back & exchanged it but the one I have now still switches itself off & on.

It cannot stream music properly using Bluetooth. I have some Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headphones & when you pair them the volume adjustment disappears from the music player! Also when you switch the headphones off & on again the phone can't reconnect, you have to go through the whole pairing process again.

The volume generally is very low when listening through headphones, I have tried 3 pairs of headphones including the rubbish bundled ones & the phone won't go loud enough.

Finally I just bought an 8GB memory card & have started filling it with music (a slow process using LG's rubbish software) the card is now about 4GB full & whenever I try to access any pictures or music on it the phone goes really slow, last night it took 4 minutes just to open my music folder!

unfortunately flawed. Mines going back to CPW tomorrow for a refund.

Bought this for my wife for Xmas but having played with it for a while now I can safely say it is truly excellent. Cost £99 from Carphone WH & got a deal on a Micro SD card (can get the memory a bit cheaper online but for a couple of quid it wasn't worth the hassle).

The phone comes with the data cable & headphones as is really simple to use. I got the hang of it in seconds having never used a touch screen mobile (I have a mobile paid for by work & it's about 4 years old so I am out of touch with these things).

I've read of software issues connecting to a PC running vista. Frankly that's a load of rubbish. The PC suite loaded first time on my Vista PC & I have the phone connected & available in minutes.

My only concern would be putting this in my pocket & scratching is with coins or keys (although it does come with a plastic screen protector) It would be a real shame to mess it up as it's such a nice bit of kit.

Overall I am really impressed & wish it was for me not my wife!

Got the phone a few days back from Carphone Warehouse in the UK, & it provides a great user experience. However we noted a few bugs, which are detailed below. I would appreciate it if other owners of KP500 try this, & let us know if you also face the same bugs.

Bug 1, I used the calendar widget to enter some appointments & birthdays. However when trying to access a date from the widget calendar to see the appointments, the phone reboots. It shows the LG logo & comes back to main screen.

Bug 2, Calendar entries.
- When I save any appointment either as an anniversary or birthday & set the repeat as annual, it puts around 14 days of additional entries for the same appointment in all the subsequent months, 14 in Jan, 14 in Feb & so on.
- I then changed the repeat to once & saved it, but that caused the whole appointment to be deleted from the calendar.
- I saved an appointment as repeating weekly & it saved just fine. However if you give an expiration date for the recurring appointment, then the whole appointment is deleted from the calendar.

Bug 3, Alarm, I have saved a second alarm on my phone. However when the 2nd alarm rings, it shows the name & text from the 1st alarm, which reads Morning Alarm.

Bug 4, Syncing with Outlook, I tried to use the sync tools to upload my contact list. I tried to upload from Outlook 2000 on my home computer, & Outlook 2003 in my laptop. It does not work with either. It starts to sync, reads all the contacts in Outlook (around 293 contacts), & then disconnects connection to the phone & provides a message that Synchronisation failed, but does not provide any comments or feedback about why it failed

We are still checking out all the features & will post more bugs as we find it. I am however keen to know if anyone else is facing the same problems.

The LG KP500 is a really sleek little phone. It is really thin so it fits easily into your pocket, & it has a large 3 inch touch screen for ease of use. The black colour is really nice, & the camera is discreet.

The content of the phone is also fantastic. I previously had the LG chocolate which I didn't like because I found it very fiddly, but this phone definitely ticks all the boxes!
The main menu is one of the phone's best features. Here, you can choose various widgets to appear such as your alarm clock, photo gallery, FM radio & music player which can be easily accessed. The phone responds easily to touch, & the icons are a good size so you don't trigger too many accidental actions. Messaging is also quite easy, although it takes some getting used to. I don't use the handwriting recognition as I find it too fiddly, but this is personal opinion. I find the easiest way to text is to use the stylus pen along with the qwerty keyboard which appears when the phone is tilted sideways. Camera quality is good, editing features fantastic, both photos & videos can be edited. Music player is awesome too. Memory on phone good as well, I purchased a 2GB memory card with mine which slots in really easily & maximises storage space.

The only criticism I have of the phone is that it takes some getting used to, although this is inevitable if you aren't used to touch screens. I couldn't decide between this phone & a normal keypad phone, but I am really glad I went for the Cookie! Definitely invest in one of these phones. It's cheap & has some fantastic features! Love it!

Having said that, the user interface is easy to get used to. The alarms, address book etc are very good. The touch screen works really well, it doesn't take long to get used to. Music facilities are good although the sound quality leaves a bit to be desired. The camera is pretty weak & yes, I did take the protective cover off the lens! I liked the gallery facilities.

I have had this phone almost a week & so far I haven't really had many problems with it, the only problem I have had with it is with it turning itself off a couple of times when making phone calls. Overall it is a great phone & definitely good value for money! The ringtone is loud so I never miss a call the message tones are great & you can use your own MP3's as message tones too! The screen is a perfect size & the touch screen is responsive although it does take some getting used to, especially with the texting, there have been times over the past week where I have felt like stamping on the phone but I am getting used to it now.

The camera is average not great & not terrible, the music player is great, it isn't slow either (& I have a 4GB memory card in my phone!) the menu is easy to use too. The alarm on the phone is also good (although it took me a while to work out how to use it!) This has been described as the budget version of the iPhone, I'd say it is better than the iPhone as with this phone you can send & receive MMS whereas with the iPhone you cannot, also this is smaller & neater than the iPhone & it doesn't weigh much.

I would highly recommend this phone at £100 plus £10 credit it is well worth it, I am on a contract & although I had to pay for a SIM card & credit that I didn't need it was well worth it!

I purchased my LG cookie (aka LG kp500) at Carphone Warehouse 4 days ago on the Orange network on the Dolphin PAYG tariff, no contract. It is also available contract free on O2 & T Mobile. I had been enviously looking at friends Samsung Omnia phones but I did not want a contract. Browsing in the shop I spotted the advert stating the cheapest non contract touch screen for £99 plus top up.

I bought the phone because check my emails a lot, use Facebook & download music. On my tariff it enables to do this for nominal expense of £10 per month.

The phone itself is surprisingly light & about size average candy bar phone. The screen is very large taking up the majority of the phone. There is 3 buttons at the bottom, two of which is call start & the ending, on, go back buttons. Once the phone is on, you touch the icons to enter call menu, settings, organizer etc. Because there is no buttons, when making a call you use your thumb or finger to scroll to the person you want, then firmly press your thumb on the person's name & the colour indicates your chosen caller. It does take a little while to apply even pressure so not accidently press wrong person, but you get use to it. I have done quite a bit of texting using the on screen touch screen, occasionally touch wrong pad but just press c (clear). If you going to do a long text or do an email I would recommend you use the stylus (this is hidden in the bottom right hand side of the phone). Downloading music or ringtones was quite straight forward, & listening to the music, the sound is very clean & crisp. There is a space at the side of the phone to insert a mini SD card but have not used this facility yet, there appears to a lot of memory on the phone & there is 4 games to try out. The camera is 3MP but it suits my needs, again this button is at the side of the phone to operate. As there is few buttons, the key lock & hold (for music) is under the mini SD slot on the side of the phone & the silence button & lower volume button on the left hand side of the phone. The phone has the usually applications, calculator, camera, music player, video camera, voice recorder, alarm, radio, world clock etc. The clarity of voice calls was excellent & texting once you get use to it is easy. The phone does not come with a case, the large screen means loads of finger prints. So I went to the high street mobile cases & simcard seller & got a LG Viewty wallet style holder to give the phone some protection. For someone who texts & emails a lot & interested in getting a touch screen mobile I would recommend this. Battery life may last 3 to 4 days with moderate use but I have going the Internet downloading music & reading my emails, using the music player for hours, to tended last 2 days. There is some customisation of the phone but I have not got around to this yet. I have got the phone is black but think might come in silver, gold or black with red trim at the sides.
