LG KG220 Phone Review

The KG220 is a stunning clamshell mobile phone which has been designed by LG. The phone comes with easy to use built in features & comes in an attractively styled casing. The handset comes in two colours which are a glossy black coloured casing with shimmering effect or a silver coloured casing. The black coloured coating comes with small particles which provide a glamorous shimmering effect when the light hits the casing. The handset is feather light & only weighs 73 grams which makes it a pleasure for the user to carry with them where ever they go. The total measurements for the LG KG220 are 84 x 43.5 x 20.5 mm which provides a compact & curvaceous mobile phone handset. The KG220 looks similar to the Motorola PEBL & its family member the LG KG320 but the built in feature differ between each mobile handsets.

The phone comes with an internal colour screen which provides up to 65,000 colours on a CSTN type screen. The user can view colourful wallpapers & screensavers on the high resolution colour screen when the handset is in its opened position. The screen works as a viewfinder for the camera feature & the screen provides a screen resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. The KG220 comes with a photo caller identification feature which allows the user to create a personal feel to their mobile phone. The photo caller identification feature allows the user to use a photo or image as the callers ID, so therefore when a caller calls a photo will be displayed instead of just a name or caller number.

The camera feature is fun to use & the user will find it easy to activate & operate. The camera is a VGA type camera & comes with 5 x digital zoom which will allow the user to take closer shots. The camera comes with built in effects & settings which will ensure the user captures the perfect shot every time. The multi shot mode allows the user to take nine continuous shots with a single press of the photo capture button.

The LG KG220 comes with tri band technology which works over GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 which allows the user to use their mobile phone over several countries depending on the network operator. The phone comes with a built in WAP browser which is WAP 2.0 & provides the user with access to Internet based information & services which include games, ringtones & news information. The battery provides approximately two hundred hours worth of standby time from a fully charged battery.

The user can have fun playing the pre loaded Java™ games on their LG mobile phone. The built in Java™ technology is a programming language that allows mobile phone developers to create exciting games & applications for mobile handsets. The KG220 comes with the ability to play polyphonic ringtones with forty voices which allows the user to choose a polyphonic ringtone to suit their taste.

The KG220 comes with simple to use message services which include MMS multimedia messages, SMS text messages, EMS enhanced messages & an email service. The MMS service allows images & sound to be sent with text to other compatible mobile phones. The user can send a photo to a MMS compatible mobile phone immediately after taking the photo on their LG KG220. The email service allows the user to send & receive emails when they are on the move.

I love this phone for its simplicity. It's easy to carry & you don't have to worry about locking the keypad because of its clamshell design (which have been issues for my elderly mum) for her this phone is fantastic. It's a basic phone without all the complicated high tech.

I recently used this phone overseas with no problems.

I think it is very good phone, I liked the design & its ringtones, too.

Great photos have been taken by this phone easily.

I liked the embedded games, especially the Halloween game. I had a new phone now, but I still want to play with the Halloween game of LG KG220, so I have decided to try to download this game. I have been looking for this game, unfortunately) of the Halloween game, please?

Thanks in advance Timi.

Personally I think it's a good phone, I've had it for two years & I think it's pretty good. It hasn't got many great features, & the screen is a bit too small, but I think it's a good phone for people who aren't looking for flashy phones, & just want something that they can use to call people & text people, & vice versa.

Had this phone 3 months & it has died. Battery was always running down. Then one day found I can't turn it on at all. What a dud. Can't return it for repair as it was a gift & not able to obtain a receipt.

I've had the KG220 for well over 12 months now with trouble free service until now. But since Xmas, I can't change the time, it lets me in to the screen but it doesn't keep my changes. The alarm clock function doesn't work either. I've got a feeling these are connected somehow. Then today, the battery ran out & turned itself off (nothing surprising I hear you say), but at some point later it became incredibly hot, & now there's a little circular witness mark just above the menu button where the casing has deformed under the heat. It seems alright now but time to get a new phone me thinks. Other user's, beware, if any of the functions stop working, be prepared for a little warm glow in your trouser pocket!

THIS phone is rubbish! I have had it for over a year & the only reason I don't have a new phone is because my dad won't buy me one! But I am getting another this weekend

Pros - It's great for kids, holds 900 pictures, pink colour is cute.

Cons - No Bluetooth, bad camera, no speaker, address book is weird, only holds 150 text messages, menu is creepy, can't use MP3 ringtones, it's so ugly!

TO ME ITS rubbish, trust me. Don't buy it & waste your cash.

Design-wise, it's a very good. The KG220 is nice, light & compact. Its rounded nature means it hasn't got any corners that insist on stabbing you in the flesh.

unfortunately horrible, no matter where I went it was minimal reception or no reception at all. People more often than not, gave up calling me.

I now use a Sony Ericsson phone. It's much better.

The design is FANTASTIC! But I was disappointed about the features of this phone. I would recommend this phone if:

- You cared more about the design than technology.
- You like simple easy-to-handle phones with basic features so it's not so complicated & hard to use.

I wouldn't recommend it if:

- You wanted lots of technology like Bluetooth & good camera technology.
- If you wanted to have a PC link to export your photos.

In my opinion, I would choose this phone! I mean, these days, nobody really cares too much about technology do they? Instead of getting a phone PACKED with technology, choose this phone with simple tech! The design is easy for anyone to handle so why not? Thanks.

I have recently upgraded from my kg220 to an LG chocolate because I was very happy with LG. This is a good phone, no doubting that. It's a simple, basic, entry-level phone. Obviously it doesn't compare to a lot of more expensive, more feature-packed phones on the market but for the money this phone is very good value. So if you want a basic entry-level camera phone with some good games I would recommend this phone.

I think this phone is OK, I think it is a guys or girls phone it is good because it is small but bad as it doesn't have Bluetooth, you can't put your photos on the computer & the graphics are very poor. Good for 100$ & a first phone. I would recommend it if you want a good small cheap phone.

I just got this phone yesterday, I like it but it is really bad that is doesn't have Bluetooth! This phone doesn't have any good ring tones & I can't get any from my friends because it doesn't have Bluetooth! I also find that the buttons are kinda small at the top & I keep pressing the wrong buttons because my thumb press 2 buttons. But it looks cool & it's a flip phone which is cool.

This phone has good looks, but the screen is really small & the camera is basically just for show as the pictures are terrible. But still, for its AU $99 price tag, its decent value for an easy to use starter phone.
