I have had this phone for 18 months so far & I am getting rid of it despite my contract not being up. I bought it because I wanted a cheap touch screen phone but after a day I knew I shouldn't have bought it. The battery life ia absoloutely appalling. Often I will charge it all night & by midday it will be dead. I sent it to 02 twice but it still happened so I gave up. My Bluetooth doesn't work properly & the whole thing is awkward to use. It also freezes regularly so you have to take the battery out. It may seem good at first but it is awful. After a while. DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!

It is a good phone. There is one thing which I really hate. There is not a touch screen virtual keyboard while writing message.

Does anyone know that where I can download a touch screen QWERTY keypad for This phone? If anyone knows please let me know.

The phone was OK, but soon as I got it I knew I had made a mistake & should have got a different phone.

It's been back to O2 three times now with the same faults plus more & more every time last time I didn't even get out of the shop before I had handed it back for to the staff to get repaired. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

I'd say this phone is quite cool as some would say but what is really behind LG's smart & designer phones? the KF700 is rather awkward, a touch screen with a keyboard & the call buttons on the keyboard? It feels rather odd. The features are very average compared to LG's usual standard as most phones have a special feature, such as KS360's keyboard or the Cookies touch & handwriting recognition.

It's not great, but it is a start.

I fell in love with it once I saw it on the website. The next day, I decided to buy it & I have no regret since then.

If I ever have anything to complain, there are two.

- Short battery life.
- No Qwerty Keypad available for touch screen.

I bought a KF700 about one month ago. The monitor is extremely power demanding. I used the factory setting & talked a few calls, took a few photos with flash & listened about 1 hour MP3, it lasted less than one day & needed recharging!

Secondly, it is easy to accidentally touch the screen when using a certain function. This will interrupt the function in use & change to other undesired function.

Moreover, the monitor becomes dim very soon so as to save power. This means that one needs to touch it again & again from time to time in order to makes the monitor visible if he wants to continue to use it.

The photo quality (3.2 MP) is much worse than the ones taken using Sony Ericsson K750i which the camera's pixels is 2M only! I missed my K750i very much.

Worst of all, it has only one short cut key i.e. The wheel (actually it should be called long cut key because one needs at least 2 or 3 steps to invoke the function allocated to it). This makes using alarm/calendar etc very troublesome & time consuming.

Anyway, it is worth to mention, that the radiation (Specific Absorption Rate) of KF700 is very low, just only 0.36. This is very good when compared with, say, Sony Ericsson G900 which is as high as 1.47. Moreover, the response of the screen is very good.

On the whole, I regret very much to have bought KF700. I shall sell it soon & will not buy LG phones in the near future.

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW, Sorry if it is on the wrong place, but I did not find any places to ask my questions from KF700 users.

- Since it doesn't have a D pad, is there any mechanism for fast writing the consecutive letters on the same button while messaging? (T9 is OFF.) On my Sony Ericsson handset, I press downward the D pad after writing each consecutive letter to expedite messaging.

- Can I move the cursor with the side scroll wheel, while messaging? (T9 is OFF.)

- How many text messages is this phone able to store in its inbox?

- Can I make a direct shortcut to the 'new message' on the main menu, like the one on the LG Renoir's communicate tab?

- Is there any graphical emoticons available while messaging or they're just symbolic?

- According to some reports, the KF700 might crash if you receive a text message while you're typing one. Is that true? Is there any firmware update available for this phone?

- Is it possible for the phone to show the clock & indicate missed events when it is on standby & the screen is turned off?

Thanks in advance.

This phone is really nice. It's a phone with bits I don't use but I find it works very very well. I've had no trouble with it (got one when it first came out (2 days). This was surprising as I work on industrial lasers which usually kills phones in days. Must say though I had a P900i for years before it died. Are they still marketed in the UK. As I have not seen another one? FOR ME A GOOD PHONE.

When people say that the battery life is poor do not believe them because it may not be true. The first couple of weeks you use your phone more than you normally would. I am going to get this phone. My friend has got one & he hasn't had any problems with it. He sold his Viewty just to get this. The numeric keypad is great for texting & dialling numbers.

I work at a Telstra shop & have had a fair bit of time to play with the phone & while the hardware is good I find the software somewhat lacking defiantly not a phone I could use every day without getting frustrated but then again it is a low end phone. As far as its looks I have seen a lot of reviews that calls it beautiful but I think it's downright ugly although much better in photos. I would defiantly recommend you try a demo before you buy it.

I have the same reception problems but I put that down to my house, cause with my old phone I never used to be able to pick up a good signal.

However it constantly says 'Emergency call only' which gets very frustrating at times.

I like how the dial turns blue when it is being used but does anybody else's stay blue for ages & then never fade? I find myself having to turn the phone off & then on again to resolve this.

Also the touch screen, however much I love it, sometimes does freeze on me & does seem to have a world of its own when it decides to skip through all my contacts/messages when I have just touched it.

But apart from all that. Good phone.

I've been through & read all the comments previous for the one I am writing now, & I am set on getting this phone. It sounds like a really good phone, however I am a bit worried about what people said about the PC software, as thats how I mainly upload music onto my phone, & transfer pictures onto my computer.

I was looking at the LG viewty however now I've found this phone I am set on it, having a touch screen will be a new experience for me, however the familiarity of the keypad should add some extra comfort for me :).

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago from O2. At first I thought that it was very good for the money. It is now going back for a refund. It keeps giving conflict errors forcing me to reboot each time. The call quality is very muffled. The software does not work with vista. Sometimes when you press outbox it gives you the inbox. The signal strength is poor, LOL. The camera is poor. The only good thing is the build quality. I phoned LG to ask about the conflict errors & they said that it is a fault with the handset & to return it. I got the impression that I was not the first one to report this fault.

Hi I haven't got this phone yet getting it on Friday I have been into the O2 shop & asked about it & one of the employees had it & said it was a great phone. What I have figured out from O2 staff & reviews from websites is that LG produced 5 months worth of faulty goods therefore some people have the perfect phone & love it where as others of you have had the problems I would definitely suggest this phone to any one as LG have resolved this problem :D Happy phoning.

Okay so I love this phone. It's beautiful & snazzy. It something that I could show off & rub in my friend's faces. & up till yesterday I thought it was an amazing phone. I mean 3 mega pixels, isn't the best, but good enough. It's very handy & everything. But (I don't yet have a active SIM card & so I never use it) last night I was wanted a mirror (which is something I use it as) & so I turned it on & flicked to the camera, & it went to the black screen & had the words loading in white & then the words disappeared & nothing happened. It just stayed at that black screen. I am really pissed about that because when I got the camera I was basically looking for a cool camera phone!

I have had this phone since March of this year, & it is by far the worst I have come across. The touch screen has a mind of its own, I scroll through my contacts, go to click on one & the list of numbers go flying :S. I have had numerous people say I sound like the other side of the room whilst I am talking to them, the phone has been checked for faults & its all clear! Then the LG PC suite. Oh the problems I have with this, I can't get any of my pictures etc on to my laptop because apparently its not compatible with Vista. I personally can't wait to upgrade my phone to another model! I won't be getting an LG again! Far to many problems & the customer care is rubbish!

I got this phone yesterday & I VERY pleased. The touch screen is extremely easy to use & is very stylish. The slide up is a great feature. & the video camera, camera, music player & radio are all brilliant. I get a very good signal where I am. I would advice keeping the plastic cover on to prevent it getting scratched. The only thing is the USB cable takes a while to get setup & to work.

Overall I would rate this phone 100 out of 100 it is the best phone I have ever had. Very stylish, cool, easy to use, & has great multimedia features.

I got this phone 2 days back & I love it. The design of the phone is great. It's a bit bulky which makes it look more masculine. Features are really good too. However I am having small a problem with this phone. The phone gets heated up after around 20 minutes of talk time. Does anyone else have this problem?

I would like to say that this phone looks & feels absolutely fabulous. To use is a different thing.

Still & video camera are fine & more responsive than better mobile phone cameras out there.

I have the same problems with reception as others, I have been close to throwing it out of the window a few times.

It is really frustrating & so bad that it actually switches to Vodafone & Orange when it loses reception. Spoke to O2 about this, apparently the phone should not even be able to select these other networks. I think this is a phone problem rather than a network problem, better to say that it does not work well on the O2 network in the UK. I have had fine reception on roaming in two different countries.

Battery life is not great considering I have energy saver on, I don't speak that much on my phone as I am currently abroad but to get 3 days out of the battery is a mission.

This will be my third touch screen phone & possibly one of the more frustrating, due to the screen size. It does take a while to get used to & the wheel does help with some selection. You get used to this after a while.

Other functions work very well on the phone.

Location of strap hole is rather curious because you cannot use the phone & have a strap on at the same time. A design error me thinks.

I was thinking of either getting this or the Viewty. Went for this one as I'd heard the other suffered from bad shutter lag & slow interface & silly memory card arrangement.

As a free upgrade with O2 last week, I think this phone has excellent features, the combination of keypad & touch screen is great. If you find touch screen only phones a bit frustrating, the extra input methods are useful, even the dial wheel works well when looking for files.

As for the battery life, there is a power save mode, also I turn off 3G mostly & select one network, it lasts 3 days for me.

The camera's a tiny bit less good than my N73, not bad then, but I find it 10x more responsive in general use, maybe because the 1G memory card is not very full yet.

Overall, happy with this so far. Though yesterday did have the same problem as Tom, but OK today. Hope people find this useful.

This phone looks awesome! I want to buy it when I get some money but the problem is, how much is it? If it isn't too expensive, that is, I will get it. I do want it though because it looks like my kind of phone & I have always wanted a full touch screen phone, so yes, I will be thinking about getting it if it isn't too expensive!

This phone is absolutely terrible & I am stuck with it for the next 16 months.

The functions on the phone are very good. But the battery life. It's never lasted more than 2 days on full charge. Also, the signal on this phone is dismal! Yesterday I had no signal all day, I turned the phone off & on & got a signal back, along with 8 text messages from the day before!

I have called 02 (who have always in the past been VERY good) & told them the phone is not fit for its purpose. They say I cannot change the phone, only get a replacement of the same thing.

So now I am stuck with this phone that never gets a signal, swaps between what network it thinks I am on (some days I am on Vodafone, 3G) & only last on average a day! Terrible.

THIS IS the STRONGEST PHONE IN the WORLD!

My friend has it & they were on their Moped, going at like 40MPH & the phone fell out, & went flying down the road (yes flying down the road after falling out at 40MPH) & the back & battery fell off, like they would with any phone, but when they were all back together the phone was fine, there were scratches around the side, but that's it, no scratches on the screen. It was amazing, the huge touch screen was fine, wasn't cracked & works fine. I am amazed.

If you want a phone that doesn't break, buy this one!

I have installed the LG PC suite & everything but it comes up saying it can't find any data?

Other than that probably the best phone I've ever had.

I have had this phone for one month now & I used this website to help me decide whether to buy it or not. I am now very pleased with my choice to purchase the KF700.

The design looks very stylish & sleek. Although it is fairly bulky, it is for good reason as the slide down keypad makes texting so much more efficient. There are a number of great features too. The editing of photos & picture quality is great. It allows all files to be kept organised & the radio is a lot simpler to use than I would have thought.

The usability is good too although it did take a while to get used to it. However, the downsides are, not able to keep the time & any text messages on screen after the phone is locked & also if anyone knew how to use a keypad on screen rather than the side down pad I would be very grateful.

Overall this was a great buy & offers everything I was after & would highly recommend it.

Does anyone know how you can have icon or something come up when your phone screen is black (stand by) to say you have a message if you don't look at your phone very often (in desk draw) without having to hit any buttons to light the screen up? Am I making any sense?

A great phone! Easy to use & a nice size & weight.
To the person who posted earlier about how to make the phone vibrate on text messages, the solution is to trick the phone.

- Go to Profiles.

- Choose 'Customised'.

- Set Alert by to 'Ring & Vibrate'.

- Set the volume to 0.

Now when the phone rings or you get a text message the phone will vibrate for all.

I got this phone a couple of weeks ago & I love it! The only query I have is that when it's on silent & you receive a text its doesn't vibrate, so you have to keep checking your phone to see if you have any messages but it does vibrate & ring when you have it set on loud, can someone tell me am I doing something wrong? To the person who was thinking of getting a Motorola, personally I don't like Motorola's I think there to complicated & have to many limitations I.e. Memory, ring tones etc. But it's your choice. If I didn't have this phone I would have gone for a Samsung or Sony Ericsson. But apart from that I think it's the best phone I have had. At the minute no company has devised a phone everyone likes it's up to you what you're willing to put up with & what you won't. When they do release a 'perfect' phone let me know!

I got this phone today, & have spent all afternoon setting it up how I want it. First thing I did was install the synchronising software. After I had set the options as to what was synchronised & to where, I tried to sync & it kept failing. Eventually I figured out I was connected to the Internet at the time, so I shut down the connection & had no problems after that. I transferred all my contacts from my Sony Ericsson W850i to Outlook on my PC, then transferred them to the LG. Worked like a charm.

The touch screen is new to me, so I am making the odd mistake, but generally it works fine. The jog wheel is brilliant. I've removed the options I don't want, & added the ones I did. I personally like the position of the wheel, it sits just right under my index finger. The physical size of the phone compares well against my W850i, it's slightly longer & wider, but much thinner. As for the weight, I find it's pretty similar.

Once I get a SD card, I'll set about putting some music on it. I've added one WMA file for my ring tone, which seems to work fine. The connection cable supplied also charges the phone, which is a good idea, as not all do. My only minor complaint is the headphones. Why do manufacturers insist on making one ear piece so close to the split, so the ear piece keeps getting pulled out? My w850i has the same problem. I'll be sourcing a replacement pair pretty quickly. To finish on a positive note, the connector the headphone use is a standard 3.5mm jack so you can use any headphones.

My score for this phone is 8 out of 10. No Wi-Fi knocked the score down.

I've had this phone for just over a week & I am still trying to decide whether to keep it or change it for something else (Motorola Z10 looks good). I find the touch screen buttons are slow to react, can't find vibration for incoming calls & connecting to the LG software only works occasionally before losing its connection. I find it to be quite heavy & bulky (remember the old brick phones). I like the wheel & I wish I could keep that on the home screen permanently.

It has some good ringtones & seems to take pretty good pictures but it's not the easiest of phones to get used to. The unlock button is situated right next to the camera capture button so I've accidentally hit the capture button on more than one occasion!

Things I like.

- Far far better that the Prada I had for a week, the vibration feedback on the touch screen really works well (but see below).

- the numeric slide out pad also makes a big difference to usability.

Things I don't like.

- the scroll wheel's speed cannot be adjusted (&, for me, on the wrong side as I am predominantly right handed).

- Sometime a touch screen function needs to be selected twice to activate.

- Some buttons do not vibrate at all (verified on another Virgo, when a call is active, the unlock, mute & loudspeaker buttons do not vibrate)

- the manual is very very basic, & leaves a lot to trial & error, e.g. No mention of how to get the cool quarter circle menu displayed (push the button below the scroll wheel).

I've had this phone for a day now & have had a few teething problems.

The major one is the PC to phone software, it will connect but none of the functions will work so going to try it at work tomorrow.

I used the Internet to find a recipe for meatballs last night which was useful. Although nowhere close to the usability of the iPhone! Mainly due to the user interface which gets quite annoying. A lot! As well as the touch screen needed precise (I.e. Stylus) contact to hit a lot of the buttons.

Hopefully I'll solve a lot of these problems but it'd be nice if I didn't have to. LG could do well to work on their GUI. They do seem to make good products though.
