LG prada ke850 it has good design & easy to use, shiny & beautiful phone.
About the bad things, it scraches easy, its battery is not good but every kind of problem has its solution when you buy you should buy screen protector it wouldnot scraches then.

For all those of you who have been unkind about the LG, I think that it is the best make phone on the market, I have owned 4 LG's now & all of them are brilliant, they pick up service in places that other phones don't including the iPhone & Samsung they are easy to use & navigate. They also look nice & stylish & everybody in my college class says that they want my phone but also I have dropped my LG pop once or twice & it still works with no scratches or cracks. They also stay charged for a long time I just think it depends how you use them but all in all LG are the best make phones that you can buy I have just had a Rio from Orange as well I hate that up the side of my LG's its rubbish.

I've had the Prada for a couple of days now & I think it's great!
The camera only has 2 megapixels but so do a lot of other phones so if you want something that takes really good pictures buy a camera not a phone.
The look is fabulous, sleek, shiny, does scratch easily would recommend to buy a screen protector (there really cheap on eBay!).
DO NOT GET the LEATHER CASE as it can cause scratches I would buy something softer like a iPod sock a large size 1! Well that's what my friend did & she's had no problems.
Battery life is short but most people charge their phone every other day & if you keep it charging overnight then you will have no trouble!
It is a fashion phone definitely turns heads. I am not keen on the silver buttons on the side but the rest of the phone makes up for it, great phone would recommend!

I have had this phone now for 7 months & I absolutely hate it! When I first got it I thought it was amazing. But now I have realised that it is rubbish.
Here is a list of things I thought were rubbish.
- Camera.
- Games.
- Battery Life.
- Keeps Freezing.
- Can't change the message alert tones (apart from the ones they give you which are pathetic!).
- Memory (even with a memory card!).
- Size (I can't even fit it in a little handbag whereas my old one I could!)
- Just in general the phone!
I wouldn't recommend this phone to anybody really. I am looking at changing mine now as it is really annoying me now!

Got the phone yesterday. Find it very complicated after using my no problem Nokia. Tried phoning customer services & automated services told me to press the number 5 twice but once I had dialled customer services the number touch screen had disappeared. Also can dial out, receive text messages but phone doesn't ring at all & just shows I have missed calls.
Have made sure ringtone is activated & is not on silent. I think I will sell on e bay & go back to my Nokia.

Had it for 2 months & sad I didn't go for the Samsung Soul! Camera is rubbish. The look of the phone is very nice though. In my opinion it's not worth the price.

I have had my Prada phone for 20 months now & I am due an upgrade. I have looked for a new phone & nothing is that good to draw me away from my current phone. I am happy to hear there is a Prada 2 out soon with a slide out QWERTY keyboard & the best thing of all is it has not grown in size from the original.
I find the touch screen easy to use for texting & it is easy on your fingers. The camera is good in the day & gives good pictures for a 2 Megapixel camera. Battery life was good when I got it but it has deteriorated over the 20 months & needs charging every 2 days. Charge time is OK.
The themes & loaded software is basic but does the job since most people import screensavers & backgrounds of their own.
All in all I will be sorry to see it go but it is a good phone if you like touch screen but obviously now being nearly 2 years old there are newer better phones on the market.
I have returned 1 phone due to pixel error on the screen when receiving calls, & yes it does freeze up if you have loads stored on it but take the battery out & it goes fine again. Text memory is a little restricted.

Can someone please tell me the service centre number under the text messaging settings on the LG PRADA KE850. I erased that number by accident & I can't text anymore.
It's a really good phone but does get scratched easily. It is so light that I keep dropping it also. But the camera isn't that good. I really don't like the camera. Texting is fast & fun & easy but takes about 1 to 2 days to get used to.

When I first bought this phone, I thought oh dear, I am going to hate it, but after just days of using it I really grew to absolutely adore it. I love texting on it, & I love the way you actually don't need a stylus or anything to text with it, it's easy enough using your thumbs, & I have pretty chubby thumbs! The camera also takes very, very good still pictures, but takes a while to focus, which is a shame. I would definitely recommend it.

I've had this phone for just over a year now & it still never fails to impress! Great looking phone, never had any problems with it. So, here are the negative points.
- Hopeless trying to take photos on night's out.
- Extremely poor battery life. Charge every night.
I only really use my phone to text, yet the battery still doesn't last more than 24 hours. Having said that, if battery life doesn't concern you, & you're not bothered about taking photos at night, then I'd definitely recommend it.
I am about to upgrade but will certainly be sad to see it go.

Love this phone! The touch screen took some getting use 2, but that's half the fun of getting a new phone. Massive screen, decent pictures & is really good for watching videos, & really looks good.
The battery does die quickly & the internal memory is not that big but get a large memory card in & the problems solved.
My contracts nearly up (18 months) & don't want to swap it, I have never had a problem free phone before. Very very cool phone, would definitely recommend it.

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. Don't buy this phone. Very difficult to use & it takes about 3 to 4 times longer to type a text message. Battery is very poor.
On a serious note, this phone looks great but has is very difficult to use. If you want a phone just to impress at a party or dinner then carry this one. For a medium to heavy user this phone is too cumbersome & inefficient. I have to charge mine twice daily.
So I bought this phone but it lies in my cupboard. Wasted purchase. I use a Sony Ericsson.

Complete & total rubbish. The phone is a joke. In the 6 months I have owned it has been sent back 3 times. Battery life is less than 2 days, now the touch screen is totally dead. I have made less than 100 calls on the phone & it looks like new but it is a complete load of junk. Don't buy one, don't even take one if they are giving them away.

I am looking at getting this phone, there are very mixed reviews for it. I guess it's all about how you look after it. Also, quite a number of reviews only mention the camera. If you want a good camera buy a camera, not a phone!

What a pile of RUBBISH. I have had this phone two months & have just sold it & brought a good old Nokia. Prada LG froze all the time, Battery life, does this thing even have a battery you have to charge it every day, I downloaded 3 songs had about 5 pictures & it says the memory is full. Touch screen is a joke all the wrong letters appear. I would never recommend this phone, it is nothing but trouble you will have to only purchase anyone. Texting takes a million times longer.

Good Points.
- Text messaging which is easy to use. I can type so quickly with it.
- Easy to navigate.
- Camera is good quality.
- Phoning is easy.
- Good quality colour screen.
- It even feels nice.
Bad Points.
- Screen Scratches easy.
- I couldn't hear the phone at first. But that's because I turned the phone down low. My mistake. Works fine now.
- Camera shutter takes a while.

Being beautiful, one should know that in buying this phone there would be compromises, being an LG anyway should be the downfall as the company have never been known to have good features, good reliability & good battery life so if one should compare it another perhaps the Samsung Armani which is equally as boring after the first few days & week & that these phones weren't made for its features, reliability etc it was made with one purpose alone which was for LG to make a cheap & cost effective phone & slap a high end fashion label on the box. Too be honest which is why I bought mine for that purpose & that alone nothing more so people looking for better features & better reliability buy a Nokia or Sony Ericsson.

So it's Tuesday morning around 3.10 & I got this phone Monday morning around 8. I was so happy when I got it. I open the box take out the phone & notice the phones very light. I remember the battery's not in it so I put the battery in. Still feels to light. The phone is cheap feeling. Completely plastic! It freezes up when you text. You can sit there & tap the screen over the letter you want & it will make the noise it makes when you touch it but no letter comes up. So you have to erase one space back & keep on typing. Later I', lying in bed I go & listen to the music I put on the phone. Then I go & play around with the radio. All of a sudden the phone freezes. Won't do anything! I try to turn it off. Still doesn't do a thing. Then I pop the battery out put it back in & try to turn it on. The screen comes up says Prada & does nothing else. I wait a few seconds, still nothing. I take the battery out put it back in & put the phone on the charger for a little while. When it says completely charged I try to turn it on again. This time it plays that music when it comes on then Prada pops up on the screen & nothing happens. I have messed around with it for a while now & still it won't come on! I haven't even had this phone for 24 hours & it's already messing up! I haven't dropped it I've been very careful with it & still it's rubbish! I do not recommend this phone at all unless you have a lot of patience.

This phone isn't worth the money, it looks good in the shop but the touch screen qualities are rubbish, I had this phone for 2 days & when I touched one place on the screen, it would turn up somewhere completely different. I like the fact that it is touch screen but the quality is rubbish.
I dropped the phone once of the sofa & onto the floor & when I picked it back up, there was a massive crack, this phone is a waste of money.

Every time I turn it on. It turns off but itself & turns on by itself, seems like it got its own mind or something. Calls random people & send bad text messages to random people. This phone is possessed by some kind of supernatural powers, maybe aliens, who knows. I have got to get out of here before it makes another call. See you al later, hope you survive the phone.

Well, I couldn't wait for this phone. It does look lovely but for me it's just impractical. It scratches easily even with the case on! It takes ages to text but the picture screen quality is good though.
For me, I just miss buttons. So I've bought a new phone.
Don't get me wrong, if you want it as a toy rather than a phone then get it. For me it's too much hassle. I need a more practical phone.

I loved this phone for the first month or so but the novelty wears off very quickly. With the hefty price tag you would expect quality materials but the entire phone is made out of plastic & has a very cheap feel to it. It is the worst phone I have ever had for durability. Even when it's kept in the leather case it scratches very easily & you cannot touch the phone without putting a large smudge down the screen. The camera is also very disappointing.
Overall, I would not recommend this phone to anyone, it's put me off touch screen devices for life.

First off I saw this phone. Wasn't too sure, then I actually started to play around with it. When the sales person charged it up & what you know. I really loved it!
It's got great features & my best yet. It has got to be voice recording when I am talking to someone. It's useful when I don't have to write down directions & ask them to say it. & replay it over again if I need to hear it.
But not just that. Graphic quality is great. & MP3 sound on this phone is perfect. The battery life is better than I expected to be. Considering I talk & text a lot. Over 1200 text a month & YES! When you get use to texting it's very easy. At first I was like UHHH! & then after a week or so. I am so used to it.
I really love this phone. This is the longest time I kept a phone. Usually I change it every 1 month. Sold my Nokia 6600 slider & Sony p1i.

Loved this phone but the novelty soon wore off. Think long & hard before getting a touch screen phone because you can't text one handed! However it's lovely & very easy to use but lacking in features. If you really want this, I'd now go for the viewty or the htc touch instead, seems like it has better features! Nice while the novelty lasted though.

Give this phone a week & then you'll be able to fly through all the controls. I find it simple to text, even when drunk.
- It has got Bluetooth.
- You can select numbers while on a call to a company.
- You can change how many times it rings before voicemail.
- I've had no worries with battery life either.
A nice feature is that you can set the alarm to come on at the same time on Mon to Fri or Mon to Sat so you don't have to turn it off at the weekend. Shame you can't add text message tones, but I accept the argument that this phone should never have crazy frog.
I like this phone several months into my contract. No regrets.

I have only had this phone for 3 weeks & I love it.
It has everything I would expect a Prada phone to have
- Bluetooth.
- Touchscreen.
- Camera.
- Video recorded.
- MP3.
- Voice recorder.
- Games.
You name it, it's got it! The touch screen is a little hard to get used to but in the end you forget about the troubles you had with it. Many people ask if its colour.
Yes, it is. The reason why you may ask that is because most pictures of the phone are pictures with it on the menu which is in black & white. This is only because of the theme place on it at the time which is the original Prada theme. On other themes, the menu & everything else is colour.
I am very hard to please with my phones & had the iPhone previously which I feel is rubbish compared to the Prada. If this is your first time buying a touch screen phone I recommend you try it out first just to make sure you like it as if you don't, it is a lot of money to waste.

Definitely Prada LG, is fab but when it comes to sending messages, let's face it, I was in UK & I changed my from my tele2 to a T-mobile number & that means I had to use Pay as you go, buy credit blah, blah & you are asked to dial 150 & there comes options like to dial 1 for hearing your voicemails, 2 if you want to upgrade your credit & all that stuff means that you have to press those numbers & that couldn't happen. I tried several times to touch the screen to press e.g. 1 & all that I could hear was that I had not made any option. It was frustrating. So LG PRADA work on that please.

It looks good but that's clearly all, I find myself having to charge the battery near enough every day which is a huge pain. Also my alarm has just stopped working, I have tried absolutely everything to fix it & this problem has caused me to be late for meetings at work, it worked perfectly before Christmas, didn't use it for 2 weeks & now it's like it has just died!
This phone is a complete dud, even starting to hate the look of it now.

Well I've now had this phone since May & what a disappointment. I've always stuck with Samsungs but l decided to take a risk & go for looks. But substance is more important. Texting on this phone is a mission. The reaction on the touch screen has slowed down. My screen has scratches all over it & the Prada logo itself has faded. I am a heavy user of the phone & it does not step up to the task. The camera is also very disappointing & having used when first bought l have not used it since.
I sincerely hope that LG look at the touch screen & improve this. Also increase the memory capacity & do something to protect the screen from scratches.
But it still looks a heck of a lot better then a lot of phones.

I like this phone a lot. It looks sleek. It's cool to use & the features are great. Also, the games are cool. This is more of a woman's phone. It's like a fashion phone, but it also works well. The touch screen takes a little bit of time to get used to, but other than that, no flaws. I would recommend it. It's on offer from Virgin at half price!

Disappointed. I actually went back to using my old Samsung D500 (which is far superior in terms of features & build quality even though it doesn't have the looks) & that was only 1 week after taking the PRADA out of its sophisticated looking box. But that's just it. It's a phone for the fashion conscious, nothing more. Just as fashion tends to go out of fashion very quickly, so will this phone, because it doesn't do anything my D500 or any other phone before it, cannot. OK so it has touch screen, but once you look past the cosmetic aspect of this phone, you don't really have much else left. The worst thing about this phone is the leather look cover that comes with it. It is meant to protect the phone, but after having removed the cover & then having to slide it back on, after several attempts, you will notice that the cover actually scratches the big screen & just ruins it. So what you end up with is a very ordinary, scratched, communication device. Not very good for a phone which will be sold mainly because of the way that it looks.

It has no Bluetooth it is rubbish. Do not get it. Get the LG KU990 Viewty instead it has everything!

Think this phone is great it was the World's first fully touch screen NON-Smartphone & has some great features. The phone has most the basics a normal phone would have a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth & MP3 Player but it's in a super slim & sleek case with a huge 3 inch glass touch screen on the front & looks great. If your after a phone which is simply to show off as a fashion statement here we go this is the one but maybe if you are looking for something similar to this but with better specs such as Wi-Fi I suggest you go for the iPhone although the Prada definitely beats it on price as its available for £249 & the iPhone is £269 & you have to add on a £35 a month 02 contract.

Love the design - very sleek! Touch screen feature is fabulous, once you get the hang of it.
A few flaws:
- Internal memory is dismal. It's worth getting a 1GB/2GB memory card.
- Texting does take much longer due to slow 'touch screen' reaction & those fiddly 'arrow' options when you want to move around the 'text' page! The 'image' folder under the 'insert' menu, does not have great icons. Some are pretty pointless!
- Too many submenus to do one simple task!
- When you're on a call & if you've gone through an automated system, the only way you can access the 'keypad' is via the 'profile' key, at the left hand side of the phone), which can be a pain, especially if you're still not used to the functions!
My very honest opinion, the usability functions should have been more defined. It should run more smoothly. When viewing images (your photos), you get a choice of 'standard' or 'full' view options, the latter is the best one. You can also view your images as a 'slide show' or if one prefers, flick through manually. I think this is more of a 'fun' phone oppose to it being taken seriously for business purposes.
Otherwise, I am loving it, especially when it comes to the media features. I love the way how the music (after transferring from a PC), is automatically sectioned into 'album' folder (s) rather than a 'mixed-up' list. Bottom line, if you are patient enough, you will love this phone.

I've had the LG Prada for about a month now, & I like it more & more every day.
In the beginning this is a very unusual phone to operate. The touchscreen is great. It responds incredibly good, & it surprised me in many ways. The texting seemed impossible in the beginning, but after only a few days with texting you get very used to it. Now I write in the same tempo as with my previous phone with normal buttons. It's just a completely different way of operating a phone.
It just takes some days to get used to since you can't feel the buttons. You need to get used to how & where to touch the screen, especially when texting. However with a positive attitude it will work just fine, & now I actually feel that I use this phone faster than any other.
It's a very smooth phone to use, & you feel great when using it. Just the simple touches on the menus instead of using power to push buttons. Fantastic! Not because of the label Prada on top, but because the menus & everything is so stylish & smooth. The phone is also very easy to understand without reading the manual, & I keep experiencing new things every day.
Some features like how to connect a picture to a contact took me some time to figure out, but that's what it's like with all new phones & there might be a lack of ring tones, & especially that you can't download your own alert sound for messages. But hey. That's just fine with me. Congratulations to Prada by making a Phone that doesn't encourage people to download tacky ringtones & alert sounds. I've never in my life downloaded a single ring tone or anything, & I don't understand people spending money on it. As long as I hear the phone ringing I am very happy. & I suppose that is the reason why Prada has restricted this option.
It also looks very good. OK. It's a bit plastic, but the weight of the thing is like nothing & that's also a good reason for buying it. If they were to use metal it would be much heavier. Still. Even though it is very plastic it looks great.
The only negative thing is that it gets greasy very fast, & that may be a bit annoying. It's not especially the touch screen, but the back of the phone which is entirely black like piano paint gets very greasy. I spend some time cleaning it with my shirts or trouser. That's the only negative thing. & scratches show, but I think that is more like when you have your first car for the first month. You notice it so well because it's a precious item. After a while you won't notice. However it might be smart to use the leather box included when putting the phone in your purse or in a pocket together with coins & keys. I only leave the leather box if I put it in pockets without anything else.
If you want a lot of technical stuff, lot's of features which most people never use, & need to download ringtones & such. Then don't buy this phone!
If you like a phone that is easy to carry around, weigh like nothing, easy to use, looks great & makes you feel great. Then buy this phone!

Had the phone nearly a week now & while it does take a bit of getting used to it is no where near as complicated as some reviewers seem to say.
The phone looks AWESOME. I debated over getting one as I was a bit concerned it was a little bit to girlie for me, a proper guy.
I am glad I did, I love it. The are a few annoying quirks that disappoint me.
Limited text alert etc etc, however I suspect that this is Prada's doing rather than LG's & I for one can certainly understand that Prada don't want to be associated with Crazy Frog ring tones & all other manor of silly ring/message tones.
It takes a little while to get used to the touch screen but after a day or so you realise that the quicker & more positive you are with the phone the better you are at using it, like I say I am not a dainty lady with tiny fingers I have normal 'bloke' hands & I get by fine.
The menu's are really intuitive & easy to use & the discreet soft keys on the side of the phone are very useful for scrolling done your contacts list etc etc.
It could have more features, but you're not buying a 'smartphone' your buying a fashion phone & for a fashion phone the features are great.
The camera is great (once you turn 'auto focus' off). The battery life is a little disappointing but hey look at that whopping great screen, don't moan buy a car charger.
In conclusion if you want to be a little different & to stand out from the 'oh so common' Nokia & Samsung crowd in order to get something that looks & feels great & you don't mind a few quirky features then get the Prada phone by LG.
If you are obsessed by battery life & 'real keys' you're going to have to slum it with the rest of the crowd.

I would like to take this opportunity to warn all you folks considering getting a new mobile phone not to get the LG Prada. It is rubbish (& yes, that is the technical word!).
Whilst it is undeniably incredibly sleek, & you will look oh-so-very-cool casually fishing it out of your bag or pocket, you will rapidly loose that air of sophistication as you bite your lip in an attempt to hold in the expletives that spontaneously spring to mind whilst trying to actually use the thing!
It is the worst phone I have ever had (& given my track record with losing phones, I have had a lot of phones).
It's all touch screens (with the exception of a few hard buttons on the very bottom & the side) & again it seems very cool on first impressions. However, you'll quickly find that the buttons are slow to respond & are too close together if you have fingers any bigger than those of a 5 year old.
It also has a tendency to freeze & not let you do anything at all. Highly annoying!
However, the worst feature by far is the way that the keys to which the letters are assigned change depending what you are trying to do. When composing a text message, a b & c will be where key 2 is. The same as every other phone. Very sensible. Well done LG.
But when you come to search through your phonebook by typing in the name, the keys have all miraculously reassigned themselves so that they aren't where you'd expect them to be! ABC are now where key 1 would normally be. This has caused me to suffer a disproportionate amount of phone rage! Not helped by the fact that when you try to correct the inevitable mistake & press the key which normally will only delete one letter, you find yourself promptly back at the home screen.
The battery life also leaves something to be desired, so that on those rare occasions when you manage (either through an inordinate amount of concentration or sheer luck) to call someone, you can't talk for long before it begins to die on you!
In conclusion, this phone is awful & in order to avoid becoming the victim of severe phone rage & ending up wasting time ranting about it (like I am in this note), I suggest you choose another phone!

PROS
- Massive screen with respectable resolution.
- Look & feel of user interface is good.
- Touch screen does actually work.
- USB cable enables easy file 'drag-&-drop' functionality.
- MP3 player sounds great if used with headphones.
- Camera & video recorder functions are excellent.
CONS
- Phone-to-PC software doesn't work with my laptop (for uploading the contacts list) & there is no manual or help facility to get connected.
- TOUCH TONES are limited to four annoying sounds & these cannot be added to, or customised.
- INCOMING TEXT ALERT TONES are limited to four annoying sounds & these cannot be added to, or customised.
- The RINGING volume is stuck on ascending when using your own downloaded ringtones. There is no way to alter this & considering the phone diverts to answer phone after three rings, you end up missing most of your calls. Incidentally, you cannot change how long the phone should ring for before switching to answer phone.
- Some screens, especially the calendar, require child sized fingers to operate effectively.
- The protective jacket actually scratches the screen!
SUMMARY
Although this phone looks the part, you feel let down by its basic functionality & lack of customisable features. Within a week of purchase you will begin to realise that you are stuck with a gimmick. A white elephant. Once the novelty wears off (which it will, very quickly) you will find yourself seeking the place where you so casually discarded your old Nokia just days before.
ADVICE
Try before you buy. I wish I did.

I was a bit concerned about going for this phone over the Nokia N95, but in the end decided on the Prada & what a best choice I've made! I went for it in the end for its design & the touch screen technology that you don't see in any other phones. Texting, people have moaned about it but after a few go's you get used to it & the T9 predictive text is very easy to use!
Some people have moaned about the poor battery life & as discussed if you put it on power saving mode it is better. To make it even better buy a battery from eBay with 1000mAh, the phone comes with a battery with 800mAh, therefore the 1000mAh holds more charge & therefore lasts longer. Ignore all the bad reviews, this is a great phone with a great camera, MP3 player & is just cool to look at & use!

Only problems so far is that it won't let me put a picture against a contact (it tells me it's not supported ) & when connecting it to a Mac, when you eject the phone it automatically reconnects so you have to be real quick!

The Prada has a very bad manual, in which it is difficult (nearly impossible) to find an answer to some question.
- Does anyone know how to go to a new line when making an SMS instead of lots of spaces?
- If I have missed a call, the phone does not give after some minutes a second signal. How can I adjust this?
- When working with T9 for an SMS you have to type the WHOLE word. Can this be changed so it can give some options for the word after several letters?
After one week my phone completely crashed: the clock stopped & no buttons on the screen were working anymore & also the 'real' button to switch off the phone didn't work. The only solution was to remove the battery.

I am having trouble using the key pad function while on a call however - one of the reason I got a contract phone so I could dial international from a mobile calling card service. Anyone know if it is something to do with my settings or do I have to press something after selecting the new number? The only people that I have seen complain are the people that should not have got it in the first place I.E heavy texters or people expecting a pda. I have had this phone for about three months. Texting was annoying at first but have got used to that now (especially now I realise the T9 does work, when you select the up or down arrows to select a different word - the manual did not explain this! ) I still find the fact that if you want to add a new word into the T9 dictionary, you cannot correct it - you have to come out of that screen & go back in again, annoying. Or is there something I am missing here?
The radio & MP3 work well. Camera good - lots of onscreen options which will take me a while to understand. I have never had a problem with ringtone volume, or the volume of the caller. Battery life is not good & this phone has to be charged a lot more than my Sony Ericsson.
One thing I would like to know, is anyone's else's phone screen 'freezing' I.E not reacting to any touch after a being on a while (battery is still showing enough life? ) My phone is doing this intermittently & the only way to get around it seems to be turning it off & then on again. I keep it in its case & try to keep it clean with the cloth so don't understand why this is?

I am persevering with the phone, but thinking of changing it because looks, which are its main assets, are not the end of the world.

Just had this phone on an upgrade from t-mobile was a bit dubious about having it after reading all the mixed reviews on here but I am so glad I did.
PROS:
Great looking design & a head turner, loads of people asking me what it is & how it works, the hard leather case protects it really well I haven't got a mark on it anywhere yet (!) I used to have a Samsung e900 but couldn't get on with it at all but as soon as I got the prada just got on great with it, texting was funny at first but now I am used to it can text like a 'normal' buttoned phone. The running gear is easy to use all the menus say what they mean & the MP3 player sounds like a dream.

I have had my prada now for just over 2 days, I LOVE IT! I have had a couple of issues though already which if you were an impatient person then you would probably get really annoyed with the phone, but cuz I love the style so much I needed to stick with it & I am glad I did.
Downsides:
It is a bit annoying that you can only use the phones default message tones, but you could on the chocolate which is the phone I had before so I am used to that, plus the you've got mail tone is WICKED!
The ringtones with the phone are RUBBISH so get your MP3's on these as soon as you get the phone, this is made easier with the memory card (which the chocolate didn't have) just slip into your PC & drag the songs from your itunes folder into the sounds folder, EASY.
When ringing a big company & you have to press a number for the option you want, the keypad has already disappeared so it makes it really hard to get through, I am sure there must be a way of doing this that I have to look into.
Texting is a tad hard at first & I have really dainty skinny fingers & I am still getting used to it.
When you have an MP3 as a ringtone it is quieter than the phones default tones, so turn up your volume to max, & maybe add the vibrate!
OK now GOOD things:
It looks amazing.
The camera is actually really good quality & loads easier to use than the chocolate.
Downloading your stuff onto it is easy peasy.
You can have different ringtones for different people (which again you couldn't on the chocolate).
Actually EVERYTHING is good about this phone apart from the points above, but they are all things you can get over for having such a sleek phone!

Touch screen hard to use at first but am getting to grips with it now, someone before put in something about predictive text its called T9 on the Prada & to change words you use the up down arrows on the side of the phone (real buttons).
Other than that nice phone really a bit expensive if your buying a phone but if you can get it free with your contract (like I did ) go for it.

I found it difficult to use at first but eventually, I got used to it & loved it.

I Get A Bit Frustrated With It When It Slows Down & Its Scratched A Bit, But Thats Only Cos I Drop Everything. The Texting Is A Bit Difficult, You Should See My Friends With It Ha Ha Ha, Very Funny.

I bought this just for the aesthetics, id had an n70 before & realised the gadgets I bought it for, most of time I never used, as it wasn't beautiful I thought the next phone I bought would be different.
The first week I took it to London, & realised how awful it looks & reacts when your hands sweat.
Secondly I keep getting these random black lines appearing on my screen. These conveniently disappear when I return to the shop : (
3rd I have noticed that when receiving calls, 50% of the time either get the number displayed or get no number, even though the persons number is stored in the memory
4th I have noticed how the screen seems to die on a warm day, first it gets faint lines across it, then it goes a dark blue so you can't see the screen, even though the phone is still 'functioning'.
The video quality is utter rubbish - the picture is squewiff & not what I would expect of a current model mobile phone, the n70 provided better quality & sound.
The camera itself is poor, the contrast is permanently set too high.
Also when I type text msgs I find sometimes I can't type a certain letter after another. I have to delete the word I spelt & retype it before I progress. This isn't the touch screen playing up as the screen registers your fingers heat.
On the plus side it really attracts attention. The butterfly or fish you can control on the homepage is a nice touch, the sounds are good (ringbones etc) but are very restrictive, you only have 4 options for text msg tone, you can't add your own - only for call ringtone & if you haven't noticed yet, the battery is that of challenge Anikas from the 80s. Saying that like I said I had the n70, so no difference there for me!
Oh, & the phone hangs up if it doesn't want to call, keeps saying network busy, funny I have always been with 02 & its never been constantly busy before.

I've had this phone for around 2 months, so here are the pro's:
*it's a great looking phone, grabs attention
*camera is quite good large screen to view pictures
*good MP3 player as long as you use the headphone set to skip & change tracks
Cons:
*rubbish battery life
*pathetic 10meg for storage although you do get micro sd slot you can't use to Bluetooth from micro sd to PC so everyone time you want to transfer something from sd you have to open damn thing up stick into micro sd adapter & then transfer to PC
*you also can blue tooth file from micro SD to another phone only from the 10 Megs!
*you get a leather case which is kind of good & you'll need if you don't want to scratch it but problem with that is you have to use to hands to use phone.
*bottom three button buttons for calling hanging up & the back button are so low down when you use your thumb to use them you feel you might drop it.
Bottom line not worth it to much hassle to look good you're stuck for 18 months!

Orange have now sent me 2 new handsets & this is happening with every one. Tried the usual change the sim card, & the memory card as requested by the so called technical support team but this is still happening. I am so disappointed with this phone & Orange.
Anyone else have this problem?

I've had the Prada a week now, & if it wasn't for pure perseverance, it would have been back in the shop.
I started of absolutely loving the look of it but soon found out that it wasn't the best phone to text (especially on the move, or in daylight!) It took a few days to master hitting the right text keys & finding the T9 alternative words.
I agree with most of the points raised here, the poor battery life, the dark screen, low call volume & difficulty texting but it is an absolutely beautiful phone & a few sacrifices have to be made in usability & functions to experience it.
Overall a great phone & I am happy to have it for the next 11 months & 3 weeks!
One point. How do you get the MP3 player to recognise playlists from the memory card as I can only get it to read the internal memory (which only being 8MB isn't large enough to actually be an MP3 player) I can only access the songs by going through 'my stuff'.

I really can't understand the negative reviews on here. 99% of people agree that it looks amazing - It has to be one of the best looking phones of all time with an awesome screen. But not only does it look good, it is so easy to use & almost totally intuitive. Even texting, which lots of people seem to be complaining about was a piece of cake - it's exactly the same as any traditional phone! The volume is as loud as any phone I have used, especially when I realised the maximum volume for music was 20 & not 10! The camera is good quality but is not very good in low light & the flash is weak. For music it is a great phone with all the controls you could want. My only difficulty so far is that all files I send via Bluetooth seem to go to the phones internal memory & have to be moved afterwards. The problem with this is the memory is only small so larger files can't be sent as they don't fit. If anyone knows a solution to this please let me know!

I work for a high street phone retailer, I cannot name the shop due to legal reasons. But my opinion is based on those I receive from our customers.
Firstly the design, it is the tackiest phone ever, feels cheap & looks cheap. Made of cheap materials, very similar to mirror that lady's keep in their handbag.
The features are rubbish, has the same features as phones released 2 year ago.
Very hard to use, texting on the touchscreen is difficult, impossible phone.
I hear you say why it sells so well.
It sells because its Prada, it a fashion accessory & a phone. This is a typical footballer's wives phone, cheap & tacky.
The shop I work in we have customers returning with their LG Pradas 2 days later wanting to exchange it, everyone is disappointed. My advice. Go for the n95. It's the new ipod.

After reading extensive reviews on the LG Prada I was sceptical about getting into an 18 month contract with this phone as I mainly use my phone for texting, & the reviews did not rate its ease of use in that area very high-resolution & looked stylish & impressive. I must admit that getting used to the touch screen layout did take a few days, like any new phone you have to get used to how it works. Texting was difficult at first but now I can do it relatively easy, the one thing I would criticize this phone on is the T9 function as it is difficult to change the word but apart from that I found the phone to be fantastic. Some of the buttons have started not to respond when I touch them, & presently the battery life is lasting a mere 24hours before going flat. I have however been assured that this is a fault with my particular handset & I am currently waiting for a replacement. I am hoping that this is not an inherent problem with the phone!
In short, if you like a stylish phone with not a lot of 'gadgetry' features then you will love this phone. I have had a lot of people commenting on how nice & trendy it is, but it does require a bit of polishing! I do love the phone & would recommend to anyone to get it on contract!

There are plenty of features, which are enough to satisfy an average user who knows what to expect from his phone. If you want your phone to make your morning coffee while processing your conference call, then you might find that this phone is not for you. A phone is a phone before everything else & the LG Prada is a truly magnificent design with very good usability.

I've had this phone on trial for one week now, with the understanding that if I don't like it, I can swap it with a Nokia 6300.
My first impressions were snazzy, but a bit gizmo. The touch screen was the main bug bear, especially if you like texting. However, persevere & it becomes a pleasure. I was already to swap it over, but now I am not sure.
The instruction manual was bad. It really was a case of playing with it, & finding out for your own, For example, the predictive text. To change the words, I thought you had to use the rocker switch on the side, but discovered that by tapping the centre of the text, you toggle between up & down arrows, left & right, & no arrows. The former allow you to change the words.
I like to know if a text comes in, & with no permanent screen lit, this is a pain. However, I discovered a repeat message alarm tone that repeats every 5 minutes. Perfect.
I am struggling with the sync program. The connection cannot be found. Any help welcome on this one.
Final issue was that I could not connect the Bluetooth connection to read the address book within my in built Bluetooth car kit. Audio bit works fine, but the Nokia's read the address book as well.
All in all, not bad.

The design is stunning & the touch screen is perfect once you find your bearings (can now write a text as if it were a normal keypad).
The main criticism I have (which you all seem to be moaning about) is the call volume. It's not awful but I had a Samsung D900 prior to this & it's probably twice as loud as the LG on the highest setting!

Looks sleek & glossy, & I now carry it in my pocket without using a case. Practically scratch-proof now, & no worries about wiping away fingerprints using my sleeve!
Pooja, you need to set your connectivity properly in order to sync. In settings, connectivity, USB connections, you set Mass storage if you want to use it as a USB drive, & the other (can't remember what it's called) if you want to sync your contact etc using the LG mobile sync program.

The screen is amazing, MP3 & overall sound quality is really good & the touch screen thingy is not as difficult as I expected. Infact, it's quite cool & easy. I am sure you'd need time to get used to texting & stuff. But that's OK I guess because that's the way it is with anything new. I played 'virus' on it & it was so cool! I was at the Orange shop in Canary Wharf as my friend was very smitten by the Prada. It's very good looking. The on screen touch controls are very well thought out & easy to operate. She rarely sends texts messages nor uses the camera in her mobile so neither was an issue for her.
However the salesman said he couldn't recommend it to her as you cannot use it to access the Orange answer phone system. Apparently the on screen keyboard vanishes during a call so you cannot press '1' to tell the answer phone system to play messages. I find it hard to believe that Orange would have messed this up.
Could some kind soul on Orange please tell me if there is a way around this?

Nothing even approaches this phone in style. It's also lightweight. Even as it picks up some scratches here & there, still a beautiful phone. Battery should last longer. Camera & MP3 are both excellent. There's a learning curve on usability & once you master it, it's still not perfect. Answering a call involves pressing a small button. The screen always locks &, though certainly necessary & easy to turn on with a push to one button, can be a bit tedious. Touch screen is superb. But of course you lose any tactile feel. So at this point, a bit above 90% seems fair. & damn, that's a good score.

Also, if you connect the phone to a computer via USB lead to copy songs onto phone, take note that under 'my computer' there will be 2 drives listed for the phone. One will be the phones own memory, & the other is the memory card. So select which one you want to copy onto.
This took my some time to work out. I have put a 512MB card into the phone & it works fine. Hope these hints help.
Hi Carlyn, I agree with you about the quiet ringtones, & setting to outside makes no difference. I have contacted LG support website & their uk technical help on & neither could help but intimated that if enough complaints are received they may issue a software patch to address this complaint.

Yes it looks good but texting was a nightmare (not everyone has needle thin fingers), the themes are disappointing as I don't really want fish or bugs flying round my screen, the sound during a call is terrible you've got to ram the phone into your ear canal to hear the other person, wallpapers are poor to say the least, can't find any decent games on the net for this phone, the battery is pretty poor. You charge it for hours & you barely get half way out the door before it's reading half full, seeing the screen during the day is almost impossible. I've found myself ducking into dark doorways just to see what texts' say. There is a fish screen saver where the carp follows where you tap the screen!
The menus are really well optimised for the touchscreen interface. Lots of large buttons, & very intuitive. The definitely in sunlight.
I was a bit apprehensive about touchscreen texting, but it is actually very easy, as long as you just lightly touch each key. There is hardly any delay. Predictive text works fine. You can select different words by touching the compose screen until the up & down arrows appear.
I have not found it a problem when using the phone with call centres. Pressing the profile key on the left brings up the key pad to enter numbers while in a call.
For those of you that use your phone as an alarm, the alarm on this phone works when the phone is switched off & it has a 5 minute snooze. Hurray!
The downsides would probably be the battery, had to charge it after a couple of days of normal use. You do worry about scratches, but it comes with a slip in leather case, so it should be safe in your pocket. Can't wait until Invisible Shield does a protector for this phone!
All in all, an excellent phone if you use it mainly for a phone & camera & a few extras.
Probably would not want to wait for the Apple iphone - I use my apple nano ipod anyway for music!

Considering getting this phone but I am put off by the apparent difficult visibility in bright light. Currently trialing the LG Shine but am sending it back as it's impossible to see the screen in the sun. You only see your own reflection. How bad is the visibility with the Prada?

Good phone, but can't play AAC files, but good phone, got it yesterday, love it. Bit of a pain how you can't change your message tone! Good phone thou.

In general, looks great, features are cool as well, but could have had a better camera. A really snazzy phone that will look great when pulling it out on special nights out. But has poor screen display, screen is too sensitive & battery is really rubbish. I have just returned my handset as the touch screen started to play up.

I love this phone I wasn't expecting the touch screen to work as well as it does. Marie in answer to your question when you text there are 2 arrows where the text comes up if you touch one of those they should change to be facing up & down & this is how you change it when in predictive. Hope this helps.

I had a chance recently to use this phone - It's not nice.
Design - 90% - It does look great, & it's a lot smaller than you might imagine. Based purely on aesthetics (which is what most of this phone's buyers will be) it's a fantastic piece of design.
Features - 70% - But it doesn't do anything feature wise (other than view specific types of documents) that you couldn't do 2 years ago with a Sony Ericsson K750i. It's a Smartphone that isn't smart, or a regular phone masquerading as a Smartphone. Don't think it is one, because it's not. As a regular phone, it is a half-decent feature set.
Usability - 50% - Really not good enough. Fundamental flaws with the user interface make it difficult & frustrating to use at times. Sometimes it's a joy to use, but it's just not as easy as most phones on the mainstream market, & it's a real pain to set up how you want. It's worth noting that Prada designed the user interface. They should probably stick to handbags & shoes, & avoid complex firmware.
Overall, I'd say it's about 70%. If you just want it because it looks nice, then that's fine, but don't be fooled by the touch-screen - As I mentioned, it's no Smartphone. If you want to seem fashionable, & OR you want a Smartphone, a Sony Ericsson W950i or a Nokia Symbian-based handset will be much better. You have to REALLY want this phone to justify buying it.

I've had the phone a couple of days & really the only criticism is the display which is difficult to see in bright daylight, which causes problems when nearly all functions are on the touch screen. Another niggle is the touchscreen stays on for a max. Of 60 secs, so when calling a call centre, by the time you get to your option to choose a number, the screen has gone off & you can't see the keypad. These are really my only criticism.

I have only had the phone for one day - design is great, only drawback is that every time you touch the phone it leaves a fingerprint due to the piano finish on back & touchscreen panel. I am wondering if anyone knows where the options are for predictive text - if you type in 'might' but really want 'night' I cannot find a way to get options & substitute the word you really want unless you switch to the ABC mode & retype it. Still exploring functionality but fairly intuitive.

LOVE the PHONE! Got this phone on Saturday 31/3/2007 & I simply cannot put it down!
The phone has all the features that I want, 2megapixel camera, Bluetooth, text messages, alarm clock, etc. (aren't really asking for more). It supports documents in the format of word, excel, PowerPoint, text too!
I only give the usability 80% because it takes a while to get used to all the functions (e.g. It has a shortcut to alarm clock & shortcut to change profiles on the standby screen) but it doesn't tell you in the Manual!
The touch screen only design is a bit inconvenient at first, but I got used to it quite quickly!
All in all, I'd give this phone 80/100!

The design it self is spectacular, though the features are still unknown. This isn't a slid phone. Actually it's all basically touch pad I am most assured. Who ever doesn't like touch pad, I recommend you don't buy this phone for your self.

It's a nice phone, perhaps missing wi-fi connectivity. Battery backup is bit low. Talk time should be at least 5 hours.
