This phone would be awesome if only there was some way to change from the 4 dodgy ringtones that come with it. Due to that one flaw I am not all that happy with spending the 200 bucks on this phone. If anyone has any way of fixing this problem, please post it here.

Just got my mobile (unlocked), great features, stylish, & people are like Wow, what kind of phone is that? I guess that'll happen when you're basically the only one around with it. Love being in that exclusive group!

No FM radio on this phone, I miss that, but nice features, LOVE the fact that it automatically locks the keypad, Interesting default ringtones, too bad can't change from the 4 SMS tones, but I am sure that will change with some sort of firmware update.

Battery life seems a little low. Charged last night, & taken off charger at midnight, now only 2 bars left at 1400, might be due to me playing with it, but others seem to have issues with a lazy battery.

Good signal, but does have issue inside my work, where my other phone doesn't. Chalked that off to being from EU.

Camera is a little slow on capturing images, It'll grab the picture but save the blur of movement a moment after instead. I haven't had a chance to play with the video yet, but great features! The flash is amazingly bright, turned it on & nearly blinded myself checking.

Have not checked yet to see if it will play my MP3's as ringtones yet, but it should. I have little use for Bluetooth, so might be okay with it being slow.

Otherwise, fantastic phone! WOW!

I had it since October 2007 & it was thrilling to have this mobile phone. I like the design, it's so exclusive, the metallic case, the shiny screen.

For the US$ 200 mobile phone I thought that it has great features in it.

Although you must put on the screen guard, too bad if the shiny screen had a scratch on it.

One more, It fell a few times but it's still OK. :).

Okay, I have had this phone for some time now. The camera quality is great (much better outdoors). Despite what others say, I have had no problems with the sound. I find it is loud enough. I like the navigation, except I could not stand the grid menu (I changed mine to list).

I would have rather had the 'call end' button on the front of the phone where the cancel button is. I found myself fumbling for a button to exit out of web browser. (on the side, the off button).

Great design, & for a hint, leave the screen guard on! The shine is not a friend of keys or coins!

Overall, great phone, should have come with the data cable though. Retails at $200 here in Aust.

I am thinking of getting a mobile phone in a couple of days & this one is one of the ones I am considering. Does anyone know the average price of this phone?

The previous comment have been saying how slow the Bluetooth works if this is the case how slow is it, does it take 10 seconds to load or?

At its current market price, it's just but fair enough for the design & usability. I didn't go through yet with all its features as I just bought my unit 3 days back, but these things I just found out. Keypad is hard to press, Bluetooth is relatively slow & difficult to use outdoor especially under the sunlight. It's good I am using it only for my alternative. At the scale of 1 to 10, I rate it 7.5.

Just bought this phone (gold edition). I got it at a roadshow for $240 plus with a 1 GB Micro SD Slot. Here are my reviews!

Plus points.
- Sleek design.
- Good camera quality (after all there are certified lens just like the other 2 LG Shine models).
- Affordable price.
- Easy to understand navigations without the need of a manual.

Bad points.
- Keypad hard to press.
- no 3G or 3.5G function!
- A tad too shiny (but that can ignored since it is a Shine Series)

Oh & if you see that you only get numbers instead of your friends names, try transferring contacts from Phone to SIM card! if not vice versa, I forgot which it is has.

I am confused by the number of negative reviews (especially the poor sound, which I found to be very good). I've had the phone for 3 days & it has been very good. Actually, I had intended to buy a Nokia, but saw this on my way out of the store & after checking all the particulars I bought it, at a good price. The features are great (maybe because I had a rather simple phone before) & it's amazing what has been packed into so little space. My only complaints [ (so far) are: (1) it's a bit slippery to handle, & (2) the antenna at the bottom is a poor choice because your palm covers it when holding the phone. Until I learn otherwise, I think it's a very good to very very good mobile phone.

Good points.
- Best value for money in the comparable price range.
- Very pretty & sleek.

Bad points.
- A bit slow.
- User interface needs improvement.
- Camera could be better.
- Built in speaker is horrible.
- Can't change menu theme & message ringtones.

Suggestion, increase the price by 10 percent but improve on the bad points & you would have the best phone in its class.

This was the nicest looking phone on the market when I bought it. It's also solid with features. However, the navigation is probably the worst I've experienced in a mobile phone. A big company like LG should pay more attention to software.

There are some useful features, such as a single button to open the camera or music player, but that's the end of the convenience. Navigation is clumsy & certain simple options are not available unless you go right back to the original menu screen, it takes a lot of button presses to do certain tasks.

It's a good design mobile phone, but. (I compare it with another brand mobile phone with the same specs at the SAME PRICE, SAME SLIM DESIGN, same 2MP camera, MP3 player, GPRS, edge, external memory slot, Bluetooth, casing from metal, java, etc.)

5 NEGATIVE POINTS:
- TOO SLOW TO ON THE PHONE!
- The Bluetooth only 1.2 ver. Slow.
- The exit button for application or web is hard to find (which is the small on/off button).
- The SMS ringtones are poor (can't use my own tones& only 4 tones to choose).
- Camera quality is terrible, compare to other 2MP camera phone (I mean the result).
- Phone colour quality is NOT that Good, 'SHINE' & Bright enough. (The competitor can SHOW 16m cool.)

This phone is like entering into the future. I use a normal Nokia & the difference is enormous. I like the fact that the screen is bigger & I did not think that it would be the case, but really enjoyed it. To be honest I like it all & think this is a great product.

Got my phone a wee while ago and I can't hear it when it rings the volume is rubbish! Also when playing MP3 the speakers is all crackly. I am gutted as I am stuck with it for 18 months now ARGH!
