I had that phone for 7 months, & I had to charge it for about 3 days, & the battery was just for like 9 hours. I didn't even use it much, because it had to charge.
The camera is great, 5px, but the flash turns on even when the room is light, which makes your picture blurry.
MP3 is just amazing in that phone, all of the sound is clear, when you record something it gives you a clear sound.
I can't send messages on that phone though, but guess what! I can on the others if I swap my card.
Overall I would say, buy that phone, it is amazing, but like I said, you might have a problem that I've got with the battery.

I use to have this phone but it broke & wouldn't charge. I paid £80 & when returned it, got £90!
It is a good mobile for a person who doesn't want to spend lots but wants a good camera with flash & auto focus.
After mine broke, I brought an LG KP500. I like it a lot better. It is a good phone the KC550 but for a bit more, you can get the LG KP500 with 3 inch touch screen, 4 different colours (black, pink, white, silver) KC550 is only available in black, 3MP, Auto rotating.
Both good phones but I prefer the KP500 100%.

Have had the phone a couple of months now & I think it's great. The larger text was just what I was looking for, don't even have to wear my glasses to read it.

This is great. It's won me over against the Samsung U600 & other popular phones on the market. I've only rated its design 95% because it looked a little bulky in places.

Great phone great camera great video lots of fun! Great games. Problem I have found is exactly the same as everyone else's which is music transfer. I did try the making an MP3 file, thank you very much it worked! But, all of my songs are itunes, & after spending a lot of time transferring, I realised I had to convert tracks in itunes to the AAC format for the phone to recognise it. I also found that there is no option to save everything to memory card, as I found out when trying to Bluetooth songs from other peoples phones. It's difficult to get used to in that way. But it looks good, it's strong! Battery life is fantastic!

My KC550 works fine. Only exception was to get music on the MP3 player. For owners who have the same problem. I found following solution on the net. Connect the phone with the USB cable to your Computer. The 2 or 4 GB card will be recognized as a drive. It's J or K on my PC. Go to sounds. Under sounds create a new File called MP3. Transfer your music from the computer to the MP3 file under sounds. When playing the music using this MP3 file under sounds the music titles will later be also visible on the phones original MP3 player. Nobody knows why, but it works.

I am looking for a phone which has easy predictive text, is tri or quad band & one that is easy to use as a phone. I am not interested in camera, MP3 player or anything else, just a phone. I also need one that you can select a loud ringtone without having to pay to download one. Can anyone out there advise me whether this phone will be suitable.

Fantastic phone, good all round design. I am of the older generation & it is easy to work. Even easier than my old Nokia phone. Just a small problem with getting the music from my stuff folder to the MP3 folder. Can anybody help please. This is probably an easy solution for the younger person to work out.

Hi, OK I've had this 'phone for a week now & really like it it's easy to figure out & simple to operate. The only problem I've got is how to get the alarm to work from power off. I've tried a lot of different combinations but all it does is switch the phone on, with the on & off volume up the it could wake me. If I leave it on them the alarm seems to be fine not what I want though. Anybody got an idea?

Had this phone for 3 days. AMAZING! I read all the reviews I could find & I love this phone. I had a Samsung J700 before & I decided I wanted an upgrade. It's got an amazing 5 mp camera & great features. The shake control games are great. I won't be changing this phone for a long time!
By the way I have had no problems with the software! So don't believe everything you read!
One problem, when you slide it down it goes back to the main screen. Does anyone know how to change it?

This has to be the most under rated phone of all time, you can keep your Nokia, Sony Ericsson & Samsung. It feels like a phone should (sounds crazy I know).
It does exactly what it says on the tin & more so.
It is seriously a phone worth checking out but no doubt those used to other makes will talk down about this phone.
The only reason the design is marked down to 95% is for a silly reason, it it the camera lens cover, I do wish is was 100% flush as on the Sony Ericsson k770i.=

I love this phone, especially for the price, it's great.
Camera is great, better at taking night photos than my 6MP camera!
However, I brought mine on September, first one went back because it wouldn't charge, the second one went back to be repaired last week because the camera has broken.

What an amazing phone at an amazing price. I brought the Sony Ericsson K850i which was the worst phone I have ever brought, so then I took that back & thought I would try something a little cheaper. & well this phone ticks all the boxes, it's got a good camera, easy to use drag & drop music files & a FM radio. I paid £200 for the k850i & I only paid £88 for the LG & I would by far rate the LG 10 times better. I also love the games it has like darts & fishing. The one thing I would have liked to have is a louder speaker.

This phone is very stylish & has many features. Its only problem is that the camera is not as good as other 5 megapixel camera phones & is rubbish in the dark & my phone has now broken after just a few months of use it won't go any further than the start up screen this may just be a faulty one but I don't know.

This phone is very attractive, but when you go to use it, oh dear. I've only used Sony Ericsson's & Nokia's & they are really user friendly. This phone is such a headache to use! They couldn't have made it less user friendly if they'd tried! Back to Sony Ericsson for me.

I got this phone for Christmas to replace my Samsung E900. I am so glad I didn't decide to get the Sony Ericsson K770i instead of this. The camera is crystal clear, memory can be expanded (there's an option that allows photos & videos to be saved to the memory card, this is found whilst the camera is active), radio is clear, the screen is nice & large as are the keys. But the best thing about this phone is the way it looks. It is refined, sleek & elegant.
If you decide to get his phone, I promise you that you won't be disappointed.

Good & feels sturdy enough. Only had it for one week which is not long enough, but on the whole a satisfying handset. Photo quality is superior to many others. However, shame there is no direct access to your contacts if you want to quickly scroll through them. Instead you have to press menu, then contacts then select search. It does have speed dialling, but this is limited to 9 numbers, if you can remember them!
I have no problems transferring files between it & my Vista PC through USB connection. It recognises it as 2 separate drives, its internal memory & the memory card. The MP3 player & FM radio are nice, but they are really gimmicks for those who have the stomach to walk in the streets with such devices. For them, they should be aware that it would only take up to 2 GB micro SD card. Generally pleased with it.

Got this phone 3 months ago & already broken & I think it is rubbish as the music volume isn't loud & it is just so plain & the memory is rubbish.
Reviewer: Victor - Oosterhout, Netherlands
Date: 19th Nov 2008
To solve the distortion of the songs when played at full volume, change the equalizer to Live. This cuts out a little bass but most of the songs will play without any distortion at highest volume.
Anyway, phone is great, looks good & is really easy to use. Since I don't use mobile Internet, I don't care about the lack of 3G. All functions are working as they should.
Only thing is that I want to use my 3.5mm headphones. Found an adapter on eBay shipping from Hong Kong. Anyone who has experience with this adapter?

Hi, I wanted to buy a reasonably priced phone after my Sony Ericsson W300i packed up recently. This site & the user comments proved invaluable. Just to put a little back into the pot, I would like to add the following comments to help others. My final choice being the LG KC550 Orsay.
Pros.
- Aesthetics, Looks really good, nice weight, feels good quality, good keypad.
- Decent camera. Bearing in mind I will only use it for snaps as I prefer a stand alone camera.
- Good Music Player.
- Good accessories, headphones, USB cable, 1Gb Micro disc & adaptor for the PC.
- the price via a current Tesco PAY Go offer, makes it a really good buy at £75.
Cons.
- After loading & reloading the software onto my PC, I spent an age trying to convince the PC & phone to talk to one another. Eventually I found I needed to change a setting in the phone to confirm it was not a mass storage device. A far better instruction book would certainly have helped. The website offered no help what so ever.
- I used my old Sony Ericsson to synchronise to Microsoft Outlook via a USB cable, effectively running one diary & contact book instead of two. Whilst the Sony Ericsson wasn't flawless & made mistakes, LG have a lot of catching up to do in that department. Their software allows the user to copy data across but it is much more limited & doesn't offer full synchronisation. Again this becomes a very time consuming exercise to set up. However, nothing insurmountable, as it was achievable.
One final point, one or two have had problems installing music on the micro disc. I got around this problem by putting the micro disc in the card driver of my PC & simply copied the albums (star.WMA files) from My Music on the PC, to the micro disc. The phone recognised it without any problem. Maybe this simple answer will help.
Don't let the two problems I mentioned above put you off this phone as I am now over the moon with it, other than my wife won't let me have it back until Xmas.

I got this phone in September, since then it has been GREAT the only problem is it says I have full memory, when I have only got 15 songs! I have tried everything deleting messages & photos nothing works! The best thing is that it is such a strong phone, I have lost count of how many times I have dropped it but it still works! I even dropped it on the concrete!

Hey, I brought this phone just a week ago & I think that it is great, the only downside is that the phone doesn't have 3G! But with this phone & all the other features that it has who would wonder about its lack of 3G technology. The phone is great & easy to use.

Just bought this phone & it's a great phone but one or two down points, poor memory anything you Bluetooth goes straight to phone memory & not the memory card, phone won't accept any data off any of my micro SD plus when I transfer files via my laptop it still won't show up on the phone so I am having to use my Samsung f210 to Bluetooth hundreds of songs to the Orsay via the phone memory before moving files to memory card & so far it's taken me 3 days & I am still going at it, why such a small memory I shall never know but good loud speaker great games good camera with flash & loads of features & big & bulky as well makes it a great phone but shame about the file transfers & the problem with reading memory cards.

Hi, I am off to the shops to get this mobile but before I do can someone tell me a simple question I hope? Can you only use the MP3 Player with the headset connected & not through the external speaker on the phone, as I read a review stating you could only use the MP3 Player with the headset or ear piece connected, I'd be most grateful if someone could let me know please. Many Thanks Pete.

Just a couple of things.
- Best not to use it in direct sunlight as you can hardly see the screen.
- No 3.5mm jack so I had to by a 3.5mm adapter from eBay so I could use a decent pair of headphones.
The 5 mega pixels camera is great for a budget phone. MP3 player is good & very easy to copy MP3s from the PC.
I got the phone on O2 PAYG from Phones for you, which came Unlocked & Unbranded. Well recommend if you're looking for a budget 5 mega pixels camera phone. Thanks Jason.

Just got this phone for free on a virgin contract after trying out several other phones first. I must say that when I first held it in the shop it felt very well made & had a nice weight to it. That & the feature set make this phone a very good buy.
Since using the phone for a few days, the only problem I have is that I cannot get the music player to play MP3 files off the 1Gb memory card. This phone does accept more than one music file type & you do use it as a mass storage devise hooked up to windows media player. Or am I missing something?

To Katie. Have you installed the LG PC Suite onto the computer? This will help, & you should be able to put them onto the computer.
Also when you plug your phone into the computer via USB, it should come up with Drive G, & Drive F. If you go to my computer & go on them (I don't remember which drive the memory card is) & then on videos, they should be on one of them somewhere. Then just right click & copy onto your computer.
Sorry if I have confused you, hope it helps.

I just got this phone, it's absolutely amazing. It has great features & is very easy to use. But there is one problem, when you turn the speaker to full the song will get a little distorted, but apart from that it's great.
I know I have a great well made phone. LG make the strongest phones I know. My friend has the LG KF700 & it fell out of her pocket whilst she was on her moped (at 40MPH) the phone has a few scratches around the edge, none on the screen & it still works fine, I was amazed. Also my other friend dropped their LG shine in the swimming pool, & with one night in the airing cupboard it works fine again. So whatever I do to my phone I know it won't break.
