I think this phone looks awesome & the features look really cool as well. I am thinking about getting it but I just need to know, can you get it on Pay As You Go Vodafone? I'd be really grateful if somebody could tell me & how much roughly it would cost for that purchase? I am stuck, at the moment, between this phone & the Samsung S5600, anyone who has or had purchased the Samsung, I'd love to know your option of it & how the two phones compare?

Thank you for all of these reviews, they're really helpful :-).

I had the Samsung Tocco prior to this phone & I simply wanted a touch screen with a better camera, but couldn't afford the iPhone. Well, it's certainly NOT an iPhone, but I am still pleased with it. It's slim, it looks great, the screen is big, the picture quality is amazing, & the touch technology works well, there's no sticking & it's fluid. The camera is also excellent. The main camera on the back is 8MP & takes good shots, the front mounted camera (for video calling) also doubles as a standalone camera, but it's resolution is equivalent to only 1/2mps. Texting takes getting used to (like all new phones). There are however, lots of useful hidden things, like with the texting, instead of using a cursor to back track through the text, you hold your finger down against the characters & a magnification screen appears & you can use this to scroll through.

There are a couple of negatives about this phone though. Firstly the net isn't as fast as with the Tocco, & while this isn't the end of the world, the Facebook interface is cumbersome to operate. Once on the site, you must constantly zoom in to select notifications & messages & the text roles off the screen as a result, meaning you must keep scrolling left & right or zoom out again to read everything.

The motion sensor inside detects when the phone is tilted & the screen spins. Useful to access the QWERTY keyboard for texting (fat fingers beware! It's small! ) but truly abysmal when looking at photos. For example, whenever there is a photo that's been taken on its side, you naturally want to turn the phone to view it properly, but of course as soon as you do this the camera spins the photo another 90 degrees so you're constantly having to chase it!

Also the interfaces. There are, (I lose count) around 5 different types of 'home page'. The main screen has all the sub categories you need (settings, utilities, multimedia, communication etc) but there are 4 other customisable menus that are a pain to keep switching between. But provided you only ever want to call, text, obtain a contact then you can reach these options from any screen. Having said that, the customisable aspects of the phone are superb. You can change, alter, delete, move just about anything.

The speakers are incredibly loud (by far the loudest phone I've ever had! ), the ring tones & text tones are original & crystal clear, & the call quality is the finest I've had from any mobile.

Overall, really good. If only they'd spent more money on better Internet interface & speed by chopping a couple of menus options this would be a simply brilliant phone.

I got this phone before Christmas but had to send the original one back as there were 3 main faults with it.

- Battery not holding charge.
- Screen not fitting flushly to the side of the handset.
- Battery very hot even when phone not in use!

Received the replacement handset, but have just had to return that too as the screen is still not fitting correctly & it keeps freezing with the only way to fix being to take the battery out! I think in principal the phone is great with many fantastic features but having had 2 bad experiences, I can't rate the usability very highly unfortunately. Upgrading to the iPhone!

Replaced a trusty KU990 with this phone. The KU990 was a good a reliable phone & the GC900 eats it on features & appearance.

Sadly though the GC900 has been less than reliable. It freezes on a regular basis & after a day or two the touch screen becomes unresponsive & the only way to fix it is by restarting. It's been in for a fix & still does the same thing. Disappointing.

Had the phone for a while now, & it is easily the best LG phone in terms of features. I upgraded to this phone after having the original Viewty, & it really is a massive upgrade.

Although being beaten by the new Chocolate on looks, it still is a fantastic phone to look at-either colour. It's slim, the screen size is adequate, & the screen resolution is incredible.

The S-class UI works well, & customising home screens can be quite fun. I spent last night just playing with the widget screen!

The camera is the best I've used yet on a phone, & the optics are excellent. The options to use: such as Intelligent & Beauty shot. Editing videos is easy to do & works well. Only thing wrong is there is once again no lens cover from LG, even with a camera of this quality.

Internet speeds are good, & the 3G works well. I have to say I was also surprised with how quick the Bluetooth is compared to the original Viewty & most other phones.

The new Dolby Mobile works very well, & the music sound quality is very good, as are the headphones.

I have to complain just once. No 3.5mm jack, which is quite disappointing when you find the Arena has one. Although annoying, you can live with it.

To end, this is the best phone I have ever had, & few can rival its all-round ability. Its brilliant.

Had this phone for a week now but it will be going back.

Don't get me wrong this is a very good phone but it's not really a smart phone in my eyes & this was the reason I bought it.

The camera is exceptional as is the video recording, the auto settings are good but if you know your cameras & the settings this then becomes awesome & the picture quality & detail are as good as the best standalone 8MP cameras.

Menus are easy to navigate, some things take exploring like finding the forward option on the texts.

Battery life is excellent even when using the net or making calls heavily.

The problem with the phone is it isn't really a Smartphone. The Internet is poor it doesn't use the xhtml much & automatically switches back to wap & you have no control over this. The screen automatically defaults to a very small size once the pages load & you constantly have to zoom in. The screen isn't very responsive when using the Internet.

If you have large fingers the QWERTY keypad is difficult to use as the size of the tap buttons favours nibble smaller fingers. The standard keypad is very good however, very responsive & actually easier than a conventional touch button.

No app store for this in the UK either, LG have released ones in other countries but not made it hear yet.

The plastic touch screen is very weak & I believe if you have it in your back pocket & sit down it will crack easily. I love the design but a stronger screen is required.

It is a very good phone but should be classed as a Smartphone, this is however is one of the best around in the non Smartphone market.

Had this phone for a week & it is very impressive, the texting on the touch screen needs a little getting used to but it's not an issue.

- Pros. Good responsive touch screen, great features & excellent camera.

- Cons. nothing major yet, the only small issue I have is that when you receive notification of a text you need to tap a few times on the screen before it will open the text. However, like I said above the screen is responsive on all other features so it may just be a glitch.

My husband was pressuring me to get a new phone & to pass my dinosaurs K770i onto the kids, so I went for it & ordered the Viewty Smart from the adverts above. Was not sure if I should go for the LG Arena, LG Crystal or this but after reading the reviews on Your Mobile Phone I made a choice. I must say I am a very happy lady & so please my husband was so pushy & that I read the reviews first as I made a great choice in getting the Viewty Smart.

Its size, camera, messaging & music features are all excellent & that is all I wanted my phone for, I would like to add that a lady wants a phone to look good, fit in her hand neatly & mainly to keep tracks on her family I.e. Husband & kids, a message to friends becomes a daily ritual with this phone as it's so much fun to use.

I have turned into a phone geek thanks to the Viewty Smart, oh dear, well at least my kids think I am fashionable again, by the way, my kids turned down to chance of having my old phone, that speaks volumes.

Comes highly recommended to ALL.

After having the LG Viewty for 18 months, I was going to upgrade to the iPhone, that was until I saw the LG Viewty Smart. I have had my new LG for a weeks now & I have to say that the design is great, its lighter than the old Viewty & a lot sleeker, so well done to LG.

I am really pleased that I went for the new Viewty Smart rather than the iPhone. The 8MP camera is fantastic with many features. The dolby sound quality is very good & when you have your earphones on, it sounds just as good, if not better than the iphone & itouch. Loads of other real cool features too.

I scored the usability 95% simply because the texting takes a little getting used too. Slightly different to the old LG & the screen is very sensitive. But give me a week or so & that will be up to 100% possible my big fingers causing the problem.

Would defo recommend this phone to anyone. A simply must have eye catching mobile. Well done to LG.

Totally agree with the reviewer called Bannister from the UK, this is a special phone & I am so pleased I got it. I had the Viewty 1 before this so this seemed like the next step & it was a good move.

I like it so much that I am going to order my old man one from here as a Father's day gift (he's a cool dad not old & grumpy just yet), good deals if you get it on a 12 mth or 18 mth contract from here.

Wicked phone, worth getting.

I bought this recently & I have to say this is one of the best phones I have ever used. If you're one of the people who are unsure which brand or what type of phone to buy due to certain different reviews, then you will be pleasantly surprised at how good this phone actually is. With the iPhone concept & amazing 8 megapixel camera, this is an all round phone for a great price.
