Our LG GW990 Review

Overview
The GW990 is a fashionable touch screen handset which has been amazingly designed by LG complete with a massive touch screen, a selection of imaging & multimedia features plus its supports many incorporated technologies. Its large touch screen form makes this handset stand out & get noticed, due to its strikingly long shaped body which is advantageous when using this Smartphone's multimedia features. The LG GW990 is from the same LG GW range as the LG GW620 & the LG GW550. It comes with a MeeGo operating system with an S Class style user interface which supports an incredible touch screen interface.

Appearance & Size
Its casing comes in a dark grey colour, although the front section of the casing is mainly taken up by the large touch screen but the remainder of the casing comes in this stylish dark grey colour complete with stylish chrome coloured edges. The LG GW990 has interesting dimensions which make it a rather large Smartphone but this is essentially due to the phone huge touch screen. The user can hold their Smartphone in a single hand but due to its generously sized casing some users may wish to use one hand to hold their handset, whilst using their other hand to make onscreen touch sensitive selections. It is 14.68cm in height which is rather long, by 6.42cm in width by 1.2cm in depth when held in its vertical position. The touch screen is a massive 4.8 inch in size & displays many colours on this clear resolution screen which supports 480 pixels by 1024 pixels. A built in sensor allows the user to turn their handset between its vertical & horizontal position & the screen will respond to the user's movements providing a vertical or wide screen display.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
There is a five megapixel digital camera built into the LG GW990 which means the user can capture photos & videos. This Smartphone supports a wide variety of imaging feature which allow its user to capture & record on the move. There is an incorporated photo & video editor allowing the user to edit their captured photos & video recording for amazing results. A digital zoom provides a zoom in & out feature which means the user can get up close to their subject or enjoy capturing a photo with more surroundings & background included. This five megapixel camera has an automatic focus & a flash which provides a well focused & brightly lit photo. Games can be played on the LG GW990 & the user can add new games for an active & amusing gaming experience. The GW990 comes with a music feature which supports effortless entertainment on the move. This music playback feature comes complete with easy to use music controls & straightforward music download facilities. The user can add new ringtones & hear their ringtones in MP3 format on the GW990. Playing videos for entertainment is simple on this amazing Smartphone thanks to its user friendly playback options & it. Its supports many popular video formats which include MPEG4, H264 & H263, plus videos can be stored on the Smartphone for a later viewing experience on the magnificent 4.8 inch touch screen.

Communication & Messaging
The user can access their phone book which stores a record of all the user's friends, family & colleagues, names & contact numbers. There is also an organiser feature integrated in the LG GW990 which helps the user stay organised on their 3G Smartphone. A call log feature keeps a record of calls missed, dialled & received on the GW990. The user can communicate with their compatible contacts by creating & sharing either an email, text message or a multimedia style message. This handset supports document viewing capabilities allowing the user to view documents in popular formats.

The LG GM990 works over 3G networks HSDPA 900 & HSDPA 2100 in addition to working over 2G GSM networks GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900. Its 3G technology allows the user to experience high speed connectivity to the Internet plus this Smartphone's EDGE & GPRS technology provides fast speed transfer rates. The user can discover directions to new locations thanks to the integrated GPS with A GPS navigating feature. When connecting to other devices the user can use either a USB cabled connection or a cable free connection thanks to the GW990's Bluetooth® wireless technology. The LG GW990 is a WiFi® capable Smartphone which allows the user to connect to the World Wide Web whilst on their travels by connecting via a hotspot or nearby wireless LAN.
