Our LG GW550 Review

This stylish 3G Smartphone comes with an array for Smartphone focused features & entertainment features which will keep its user amused for hours. The casing is mainly black in colour complete with subtle silver accents which gives the handset a sophisticated & elegant design. The LG GW550 is solid weigh handset with compact dimensions which allows the user to carry & use their Smartphone with ease. It measures 11.6cm tall by 6.2cm wide by 1.2cm deep which is compact enough to fit in the user single hand when in use. The GW550 is from the same LG range as the LG GW520 which is another stylish & feature filled phone complete with its own capabilities & features. The LG GW550 supports an expandable memory card slot which allows the user to add further memory with ease & this handset supports up to eight gigabytes of external memory. The user will find a large 2.4 Inch colour screen on the front section of their handset which provides a 65k colour display with a screen resolution of 320 pixels by 240 pixels for a clear viewing experience. Below the colour screen the user will find a full QWERTY keyboard which allows the user to input text & numbers at high speed & make the LG GW550 a truly user friendly Smartphone. The handset supports a Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system & the user can access the handsets features via the main menu.

An integrated WAP 2.0 browser allows the user of the LG GW550 to access the Web & surf which enjoying a XHTML & HTML Web experience. The user many wish to communicate with others via email which is possible on this Smartphone as it supports direct email service known as push email allowing the user to send & receive emails directly to & from their handset. If the user wishes to stay in contact with friends, family, business colleagues or customers then the built in messaging services allow the user of this 3G Smartphone to communicate without even making a call. An instant messaging service allows the user to communicate using text in an online chat service which is available to contacts that are online & support an instant messaging service. A SMS text message allows the user of the GW550 to create a message containing text which can then be shared with compatible SMS contacts. The user may wish to share their photos & videos others which is possible via the MMS multimedia messaging service which is a message containing text & sound with either a photo or video attached for a quick & easy method of sharing photos or video clips with others. The GW550 works over a quad band GSM network & covers 3G HSDPA 900 & 2100 network coverage. This Smartphone can switch be between GSM networks which include GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 automatically & the user can use their phone over a 3G network if required.

The user can connect their 3G Smartphone to other compatible devices using the connectivity options available which include USB connectivity & Bluetooth® technology connectivity. The user can enjoy a wireless connection to other compatible Bluetooth® devices which are up to ten metres apart from the handset when transfer data between the two devices. A USB connection is a cabled connection which allows the user to connect one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the LG GW550 & the other end of the USB cable into a compatible USB port on the other devices when the user is transferring data. The GW550 supports a document viewer which allows the user to view popular format documents such as Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint as well as PDF format documents. This handset supports 3G HSDPA & HSUPA technology which allows the user to gain high connectivity on their handset when desired. It's built in EDGE & GPRS technology allows the user to experience high speed data transfer rates on their Smartphone.

The user can enjoy entertainment features such as a built in music playing feature which allows the user to enjoy a mobile music experience on their Smartphone. This built in music player feature allows the user to enjoy playing popular format music on the move & the user can transfer their music using the connectivity options available. As well as listening to their favourite music on the GW550, the user can hear their favourite ringtones when a call comes in & this handset supports both MP3 & polyphonic sound ringtones. An integrated camera comes with a camera lens which is located on the back of the handset which allows the user to use their colour screen as a photo or video viewfinder when taking a photo or recording a video. The camera is a 3.1 megapixel digital camera which supports a zoom function & comes with an easily located camera key which makes photo capturing easy for the user. The user can adjust the photo & video setting to gain the best possible photo or video recording on the LG GW550. The user can store their photos & recordings on the phones memory or share them with others via the MMS messaging service. The GW550 supports video playback in MPEG4 format which allows the user to view high quality video on their handset.
