This phone, on Orange is Terrible. Simple as.

Okay first the good things. The keyboard & the fact I broke it today so I get a new phone.

The bad things. The fact it's an LG. Everything lags out when you use it, the screen randomly blacks out, the phone does not feel that well built. The fact Orange have customised everything on it, making it even harder to use. The Internet browser on the phone is one of the worst ever. The screen scratches easily. If you get signal then you're lucky. I could go on all night, just avoid this phone.

I have this phone on an Orange 24 month contract.

I've only had this model since November 2009 & this is the third replacement handset I have received.

Within a few weeks the 'live square' feature was not updating properly, after complaining to my service provider they advised I contacted LG as it was a feature on the phone itself that was not working, I phoned up LG & I was told that my service provider would be able to exchange the handset & this was when I had the 1st replacement handset.

About a month after this, the new handset wouldn't allow me to send text messages, the touch screen was not responding when I clicked to send, so I complained to my service provided & they exchanged my handset again also the 'live square' again was not updating correctly.

Coming up to February 2010 & I am on my third LG GW520 handset, the live square still doesn't work, my messages are sending, but for some reason a few of them save into my drafts after sending as well as going into my sent items.

The signal on my phone is terrible, sometimes my phone doesn't even ring, it goes straight to voicemail.

So in conclusion this phone is rubbish. Rant over =).

I've only just got this phone but it's really easy to use. The Livesquare thing can be really annoying but you don't have to use it.

My only problem is the incoming message volume. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to increase it as my message volume is really low & I can hear it unless the room is completely quiet. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am looking to buy this phone & even though some of the reviews say it is not that good as a phone, I have had my heart set on it since October 2009. I don't really mind if it is a bit slow & all I do is text that is why this phone would be ideal because it has a QWERTY keyboard & if I need a stylus I will use the one from my Nintendo DS. I am really excited to be getting this phone I have always wanted a touch screen because I think they are so cool :).

I have not just bought the phone today, I have had it for five months & it is dreadful.

Keyboard is great. Touch screen is good. Sound quality is moderate & the rest is just aweful.

Freezes, screen goes blank, buttons stop working, just turns off when it wants, won't send texts unless it wants to, drops calls.

The operating system is clumsy & using this phone for surfing the web is a form of torture.

When the price comes right down, buy one for the kids, but I am an adult & I need a phone that works when I need it to.

Don't take my word for it though, read the reviews & make your own decision.

DO NOT BUY! I bought this on 30 November 2009. It kept freezing & turning off. 12 days after I bought it NOTHING would work on it! The keyboard wouldn't work, the buttons on the front or the touch screen. I took it back to the shop & they wouldn't exchange it or give me a refund. I finally got a replacement after going to a solicitor. Three weeks later, it won't send text messages, make calls, keeps freezing & just shuts down! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! I know three people who have had the same problems with it. It's just ridiculous! It's not a brilliant phone to start with to be honest. It's just a waste of time & money! I've had two of these phones in just over a month, & they're both totally broke. PLEASE, DO NOY BUY!

Really nice phone, freezes occasionally but other than that is a really good phone.

It's really easy to text on & has a good option for threaded messaging.

Would recommend if you don't mind the occasional freeze up or double tapping of the touch screen.

I got this phone for Christmas & within two days this phone had broken, I have now ordered another & I am currently waiting for it to arrive. To anyone who is planning buying the LG GW520 I would advise they don't as it is not a great phone, even though I do like the keyboard & camera but the touch screen is not very good & the live square in annoying & I never understood it! Anybody explain what live square is?

I haven't purchased this phone yet that would explain why I have put features & usability at 50%, but I keep flicking through the Argos book a couple of days ago & LG GW520 caught my eye & so did LG KS360. So I have been looking at the reviews for both of them & heard there are several problems on KS360 & less on GW520. I am only a younger user & I don't know which one to choose LG KS360 looks amazing but GW520 has touch screen & QWERTY keyboard. Before this I have had Samsung J700 which is my first phone :\ ahh didn't really like that :S, so can anyone help me on which one is better? LG KS360 or LG GW520 (Tough Choice) I really like GW520 better because of the features, is there any problems with that phone? Help me out please.

The design of the phone is very good, the QWERTY keyboard makes it even better but the touch screen is very poor it doesn't always work & the live square touch screen is a rubbish feature.

The LG KS360 is far a better phone & I would advise people to go for that one if they are looking for a QWERTY keyboard phone.

Just got this phone today & I LOVE IT! Came from 6 years of using Nokia which is the easiest phone to use & have only taken a couple hours to get used to this one, so very good :-) a couple things weren't in the instruction booklet, like how to get rid of live square but the comments below were very helpful on that note. Really practical phone & good music player, good camera, clear layout, so I would definitely recommend getting this phone. Let's see if it stands the test of time!

I love this phone! I had it for Christmas, & I absolutely love it! Don't listen to the some of the few horrible reviews on this phone. If you're looking for a phone to text from easily, & go on the Internet, this is a great phone for that! The QWERTY keypad is really easy to use when you get used to it, & the touch screen is good. It responds quite quickly & I have no idea why some people are saying it's unresponsive. I have no complaints with this phone. Although, I haven't had it long. If I come across any faults with it then I will hold my hands up & say I was wrong. I think this phone is a lot like marmite, you'll either love it or hate it. & I love it!

Has all the great feature you now come to expect with an LG, sure it looks the business, but has very few good usable & effective features, way behind others on the market. & by the other features I mean, freezing, turning itself off. The norm.

Poor, poor phone, I bought online so only saw its looks on a computer screen. Do not but this phone, so many other alternatives on the market.

I love this phone, got it the other day & haven't put it down since! Just a pity my guinea pig has chewed through the charger, it's a really good phone, easy to use but I think that a stylus would be good for it because sometimes the buttons are too small. But other than that it's really good! :).

Would definitely recommend it.

Good solid phone albeit with a few quirks. Touch screen not the most responsive & smooth scrolling is an acquired skill but keypad feels good to type with & enough features for what I need although it clearly isn't a Smartphone. A stylus would be a good touch I think. Oh & to get rid of the truly awful Livesquare simply scroll right or left across the screen & your wallpaper (together with your sanity) will be restored.

I have got the KS360 phone & for Christmas I would like this phone. The KS360 is only a touch screen on the number pad, but this phone looks perfect for touch screen use, which you can use full time. I am delighted with the KS360 but this phone looks more high tech & my type of thing. The design looks incredible & I excited just to have a touch screen phone, but this phone even has the added bonus of a QWERTY keyboard. I need to know if it is strong & able to with stand being taken everywhere & not break as soon as you pick it up. Please give me advice.

Avoid. This mobile is not as good as everyone has made it out to be. I owned it for 2 weeks & LG's notorious software glitch hit hard & broke it. But while I had it I can tell you this, the QWERTY keyboard is decent. But the responsiveness of the touch screen is a complete joke, it's awful. & another thing, it couldn't be any slower if LG wanted it to be. It's so slow & unresponsive. Don't buy LG phones please they aren't good, I would recommend a Samsung Tocco or a Samsung Pixon. There a few pound dearer but they are far superior, I bought a Pixon yesterday & it is very good, 8 megapixel camera, responsive touch screen, widgets, apps, 3 home screens. All for £198. A complete bargain. But please avoid the LG GW520 at all costs :(.

I have had this phone for almost a month now & apart from the small issues you get with every phone it's perfect. Sometimes on trying to access the camera from the button on the side of the phone it says that it is conflicting with the gallery & therefore doesn't open, but switching the handset off fixes this. The touch screen can also be less than responsive at times, but once you get used to it, it works well. I have also noticed that the case scratches easily, & the live square function seems to pick random contacts.

Aside from these minor problems it is a smartly thought out phone which delivers well for its price. Texting with the QWERTY keyboard is much quicker than regular texting, & the camera is good quality. Having previously had Nokia's I was debating whether to get another, but the GW520 was definitely the best choice. It does everything you'd want this standard of phone to do, & on the whole it does it very well.

Hi all I bought this phone yesterday to replace my old HTC dual touch, I like the phone very much & a great keyboard on phone if anyone out can tell me how to use the live square please do as there is no instructions on how to use it or how to open the application I am on O2 network & I could not get the live sq to work, touch screen is good & ringtones OK the slider tone is not very loud to which is a shame, good camera & call quality, handbook not very clear, comes with games, good for Internet & the widgets are good but not easy to drag back off screen to the slide bar on screen.

Overall a decent phone for £150.00

Not a very good phone. The design is OK, but the screen is barely responsive. You need to press really hard for it to work & when you try dragging things around it is terrible. If you're not used to QWERTY keyboards don't get this because it's not very good, & the normal text function on the phone is ridiculously cluttered with all other touch buttons. Avoid.

To disable live square just change your wallpaper. Then it will be gone because I don't like it, it says people who I haven't spoke to for ages! Yeah so just change your wallpaper.

Have phone for 2 days now & it's a lot of fun. Loads of cool features, qwerty keyboard is roomy. Internet is very fast. Push email very fast. Camera, video recorder & music player are all top quality. Whole phone feels well made & strong. I can't get used to the up & down slider though which is used to scroll menu pages when there are extra tasks. It doesn't respond very well & you have to try a few times to get to bottom of scroll bar. Mind you this is my first touch screen device. Also while I think the live square option is a good idea I hate the graphics as they are very childish animations with bits moving around. I suppose it is not marketed as a business phone & maybe there will be a downloadable update soon. If anyone knows how to disable live square please post in review. Had only Nokias for years & was unsure about LG but I am converted.

Overall very happy. Cool PHONE.

OK, this phone is amazing, I got it the other day, had it about 2 or 3 days now, & I can't put it down! The features are amazing, the Live Square is so useful when you want to keep in touch & the touch screen is fantastic! The buttons on the QWERTY keyboard look quite small, but actually their not, but isn't that good for people who have thick thumbs. It's tricky to get at first but you text so much quicker! It's great for social networking sites & Windows Live Messenger. The camera is really good to, as it is a 3 megapixel camera, which isn't that high, but the photo quality is amazing! The video on it is also fantastic. The MP3 on the phone is quite loud, plays songs with no jumps or skips. The sound when chatting on the phone is also good, you can hear people perfectly & they can hear you, & the same with speakerphone. The battery life is OK, depends on how much you use it, if your someone who text's people a lot then battery will last longer, but if you chat a lot, it won't last that long. I say 3 to 4 days on average. Hope all this helps!

Hi. I do not have this phone yet, hence the reason why I have rated some 50%, but so far it looks quite good. I have been reading reviews on this phone & they are all positive.

I recently owned this phones little brother, the KS360, & I am hoping it's a big step up. The phone could do with a bit more on the design, & a few more colours. I am a huge fan for touch screen phones & the QWERTY keyboard is just the cherry on top! No it's not a Smart phone & all but I don't need one to be fair & also it's quite cheap compared to other touch screen phones with QWERTY keyboards. I was thinking of getting the Samsung Tocco but seeing the Keyboard on this just made me dive for it. I am getting tomorrow & ill see if I can put a review up.

So far my thoughts are very positive! :D.
